Error: No public or protected classes found to document.

Hello,
I am currently going spare trying to get javadoc to document the code I have written. I have checked the Java code given the information on the website and the comments are correct and complete for all methods. The command line I am using is:
c:\j2sdk1.4.1_01\bin\javadoc.exe -d docs/ Population.javaAnd the makefile (bat file) is in the directory with the population.java file. The command line works with other files in the same directory, programmed and commented to the same standard. The error I get is:
C:\Documents and Settings\ril\MYDOCU~1\PROGRA~1\JCreator\ILCSFrame>c:\j2sdk1.4.1_01\bin\javadoc.exe -d docs/ Population.java

1 errorI have tried checking the documentation with the doccheck doclet with the following command line:

1 errorIf I try running doccheck (without doclet) on the whole directory (containing 6 java files), it will only pick up 3 of them (one including the SwingWorker java file). Any help greatly appreciated.

"No public or protected classes found to document" means
that the class Population.java is not in the current directory.
Without trying to insult your programming ability, these things
come to mind:
- Omit the slash at the end of "-d docs/" This causes the
message "Generating docs/\constant-values.html.
I'm not sure why the bat file uses a forward slash on
a Windows system.
- Make sure you cd to the directory containing the bat file before
running it.
- Java is case-sensitive (I notice you spelled the filename
both uppercase and lowercase.) Make sure the file name,
the class name in the class, and the class name in the bat
file have the same case.
As far as doccheck not running, we have not yet released the
version that runs on 1.4.x. Please write to "doccheck-feedback"
with "@sun.com" for more info. (I've broken up the email address
so text crawlers won't get it.)

    I have seen this error when I'm executing inside one of the (j2ee sun reference implementation) server containers (either web or ejb). I believe its caused by "something" having previously loaded the "sax 1 driver class". In my case, I think the container or server is loading the sax parser from a jar that contains a sax 1 version. If you can, ensure that nothing is loading the sax 1 parser from another jar on your system. Verify that you are loading the sax parser from a jar containing the latest version so that you get the sax 2 compliant parser. Good luck!

  • Protected class give an error ?

    when i write protected class, just for learning purpose it gives me an error why ?
    here is code
    protected class A
    void display()
    System.out.println("A");
    it gives an error ? why ? can u justify ?
    why default and public is allowed and why not private and protected ?
    pragnesh

    In Java, the top level class should always be public; or there should not be any modifiers.
    There is no point in making a top-level class protected as it is not visible to the outside world.
    However, you can make inner classes protected.

    Ensure that your host file contains three entries pointing to IP addrsss of Discovery System:
    <IP ADDRESS>[tab] SAPDiscoverySystem<space>iwdfvm2160<space>owdfvm2160.wdf.sap.corp
    This addresses the internal file names as well as SAPDiscoverySystem.  This can also be accomplished with three entrie in your company DNS but many companies do not allow out-of-domain entries.
    I will modify the instructions on Prerequisites page.

    But I had created the "Public" group with transaction SMLG in related R/3 system,

  • Error -2002: a bad public movie atom was found in the movie

    I have a Nikon Coolpix L10 (about 2 years old) that records video in the .mov format.
    Most of the time when I play the videos on my computer I used to get a bad flicker and the video would often freeze. When I used a video editing program I found that for every two frames of video there was a black frame.
    So I thought maybe Quicktime wasn't 100% compatible with the file type or version. So after some deliberation I got Quicktime Pro and I have the newest version 7.6.5. The flicker is gone but the video still freezes.
    So I tried exporting to MP4 or AVI or anything and I keep getting
    "Error -2002: a bad public movie atom was found in the movie"
    It wont allow me to export the video to a different format.
    Sometimes when I cancel the export Windows pops up a screen that it's searching for a reason that the Export Controller stopped working.

    Thank you very much for the help. I tried copying and pasting the video file that is a .mov file to my zip drive and then I tried to an .avi file. The reason for doing this is so I can edit it with microsofts windows movie maker. After I had it on the zip drive and tried to export it so I could change the file it still defaults to the error 2002 message saying there is a bad public movie atom. I have done a bunch (5) other movies from the camera and they all worked and then the last one would not. So I assume there is a random factor that happens such as file size or something in the recording that causes the random atom attack. Maybe the difference is not being a mp4. It would be great if there was a definitiion of what bad public atom was and what it meant. Computers and technology is great.
    I did another search and found that a person commented on zipping the file. Well I tried to zip it from the external drive I have to my desktop and it would not work. Then I ziped the file again. Saved to a external drive then unziped it to the same external drive. From that file I then did the file export and it went fine. So the moral of the story is if the video you took is important keep searching and trying and thanks for everyones help. Why is it the vendor of the product does not post solutions? Anyway now I can go on making movies and editing them. It must be a file corruption issue so that by moving the 1's and 0's around it fixes it's self. Is it a bug with the camera recording or is a bug with quick time?

  • 'An invalid public movie atom was found in the movie' Error Message

    I was just tidying up all the music in iTunes and came across an album that half the songs are unplayable... I get no action with iTunes. I tried opening one of them with Quicktime and I get the following message:
    An invalid public movie atom was found in the movie
    I wonder if there might be a fix. I have the original CD at home but I am traveling and won't be back for a few months...
    Thanks!

    I tried to play video clips on from lynda.com and the Q appears but only the audio plays.I am new to Mac and have no idea what to do. The same clips play on my windows pc just fine and that is version 7.3.

  • How to refer to a protected class outside the enclosing package

    Hi all,
    At the page 357 of the book Java Language Specification(Second Edition), when saying about checking accessibility of Type and Method, they concern Let C be the class containing the method invovation T.m, if T is in a different package than C, and T is protected then T is accessible if and only if C is a subclass of T. I just wonder how to refer a protected type outside the package it declared.
    For example,
    package test;
    public class test {
    static protected class protectedTest {
    public void foo() {..}
    in another package
    import test.*;
    class subtest extends test.protectedTest {  <- error
    Anyone can give me an example showing an invocation directly to foo() declared in class test.protectedTest ? The invocation should appear outside package test.
    Thanks,
    Ha Chau

    The protected inner class would be accesible only within a class which extends test, where you could either use or extend it as in:
    class subtest extends test {
        private static class sub2 extends protectedTest {
               }

  • Struts2 and Tiles2 - Error executing tag: Attribute 'title' not found.

    I keep getting Error executing tag: Attribute 'title' not found when I go to the baseLayout.jsp page. I am figuring it is not seeing the tiles.xml file, but I have placed it in the /WEB-INF directory like every web page I have found says too. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

  • Accessing inner protected class with .new

    My weak understanding is that inner classes are no different in terms of access modification as other class members, thus I was expecting the following to compile:
    package A;
    public class ClassA {
        protected void protectedMethod() {}
        protected class ProtectedInnerClass {}
    }is being used over here in package B
    package B;
    import A.*;
    public class ClassB extends ClassA {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    ClassB b = new ClassB();
    b.protectedMethod(); // works fine. I am inheriting ClassA and calling the protected method.
    ClassB.ProtectedInnerClass c = b.new ProtectedInnerClass(); // compiler error: ProtectedInnerClass is protected
    }Why can I not access the protected inner class when ClassB is inheriting it as is the case with the protected method?
    thanks in advance!

    So classes that inherit other classes with protected inner classes will not be able to instantiate these inner classes regardless of the inheritance relationship.No, that's not true. Example:
    package A;
    public class ClassA {
         protected void protectedMethod() {
         protected class ProtectedInnerClass { // class is protected
              public ProtectedInnerClass() { } // <-- nota bene
    package B;
    import A.ClassA;
    public class ClassB extends ClassA {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              ClassB b = new ClassB();
              b.protectedMethod(); // works fine.
              ClassB.ProtectedInnerClass c = b.new ProtectedInnerClass(); // works fine, too.
    }It's section 6.6.2.2 that describes this behavior, as I quoted above. The last bullet point of that section reads (to repeat): "A protected constructor can be accessed by a class instance creation expression (that does not declare an anonymous class) only from within the package in which it is defined."

  • Regular (non-boot) server classes found in Java -classpath

    I can't start the weblogic server from the start menu at all. Neither the console nor server menu works. I get this error:
    The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
    Reason: Trying to start the server dynamically, specifying weblogic.class.path,
    but regular (non-boot) server classes found in Java -classpath.
    WebLogic Server terminated with an abnormal condition of 1
    Any tips!!

    SO is there any fix for this? I get this after installing SP9. Things work fine
    without SP9

    There's couple of things at issue here - you've not specified the proper interface (IProgramBase or IProgramBaseEx), and the program job server can't find the class in question (a deployment issue).
    You may want to open a support ticket with SAP.

  • ERROR -- Checksum error for Hidden and Protected item ID

    Hello all,
    I usually get the error:
    Checksum error for Hidden and Protected item ID (10785219011206310), value (on), posted checksum (C1DEF33B4C8D57845151B7D18363B3D7), expected checksum (********************************), index_i (3), index_j (2), index_m (1);
    I have already found one thread with this question - Checksum error for Hidden and Protected item ID
    but there are no answers to this problem.
    Any thoughts how to solve this and what is causing it??
    Regards Pedro.

    Pedro,
    Read under the improved security section in the below article.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/3.1_new_features.html
    I used to receive the same error because I was trying to update the value of the hidden and protected item on the same page repeatedly.
    I changed the item type to hidden to avoid the error.
    Hope this helps,
    Dippy
