  • Error Message: "Printer Failure" Problem with print or ink system . . .

    Greetings!
I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, but the error message refers to printer or ink system failure so I thought this was a good place. I've been troubleshooting my parents HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 AiO for the last 2 or 3 hours with little success. I've contacted HP tech support but they wanted $200 for the work to be done and neither I nor my parents, who are retired and on a fixed income, have the money to spare.
The tech support people said it was probably a problem with the drivers, so I attempted to reinstall the software, but that didn't help at all. A brief description of the problem might shed some light on this awful situation. Since this morning, my father tried to print something and the printer itself gave the following error message on the front LCD panel on the device itself (ie, not on Windows, but on the printer's display):
        "Printer Failure
There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn it off, then on. If the problem persists, contact HP."
Obviously my first course of action was to follow the directions. I turned it off, unplugged the cord, waited approx. 30 seconds, replugged it in and turned it back on. Nothing changed. I've also tried removing and replacing the Ink cartridges, checking the tray for a paper jam or shortage and performing a rain dance in the hopes of attracting the gods' attention xP. In short, I'm at my wits end and don't know where to go from here.
I'm unable to access the device's LCD display control panel, which controls the printer, as the error message cannot be closed. I've tried restarting the PC as well, and a lot of other basic deductive troubleshooting procedures to no avail (forgive my overuse of cliches).
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance. I wish you all a great day, and may the god of printing protect you from the same situation. I can assure you it's most unpleasant.
    Regards, Sean (frosztbyte)
P.S. I'm not sure what other information might be needed in order to help me, but ask and you shall receive any I can find.

    Hi frosztbyte,
I understand your parents have an OfficeJet Pro 8600 that is saying it has a printer failure, that you have thus far not been able to clear, despite your best effort and a rain dance (at least I know who to blame for the rain now ). I would be happy to help you as best I can!
The first thing I'd suggest you do is plug the printer directly to a wall outlet if it isn't already plugged to one, just to ensure the printer is getting all the power it needs to function properly. If that doesn't seem to change anything though, please have a look through this A 'Printer Failure' Message That Might Include an '0x610000f6' or '0x61xxxxxx' Error Code Displays o... document (it was steps for the same error without an error code as well) and hopefully it can help resolve the issue.
If the issue persists after trying the wall outlet and that document I would advise you try call HP again. I believe the number you called previously may have not have been HP, but another company. If you're in North America just call 1-800-474-6836, and if you're anywhere else have a look at this Contact HP Worldwide page to see what number to call for your area.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post resolved your issue, as it will help others find the solution faster
Click the “Kudos Thumbs Up" on the right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Rolando - We don't need all that information about the data model and such. Can you describe what the application does on the page that gives the error? I mean, you submit the page, it performs some after-submit processes (what do they do and how many processes are there?) and then it has some kind of branch to the same page or another page. Describe the processes, show us the success message for each process, exactly as they are formatted in the process definition page, and describe the branches (to the same page, another page, do they use URL redirects? And also please post the entire URL that you see when the error page is displayed.
Finally, please provide all the output from the About HTML DB page: Workspace Home -> Click the About HTML DB link under Workspace Administration on the far right side of the page. Then copy all the output and show it here.

  • Error Message: print success message checksum content error in Apex 4.0

    Hi,
just ran into problem when i configured success messages on after-submit-processes and branch to the same page with "include process message" switched on.
If i use german "Umlaute" in a success message i get an error like this: +"print success message checksum content error: : 88C885D0BADBDC6FC9AFB65520C079D6"+. If i avoid using "Umlaute", everything works fine. This behavior can be reproduced!
Maybe another bug in Apex 4.0???
    My current system environment:
    - Oracle XE
    - Apex 4.0.1.00.03
    - Apex Listener on Tomcat
    - Application Primary Language is: German (Germany)
    - Application Language Derived From is set to "Application Primary Language"
    Jens

    Hi Jens,
sorry about delay, but I fixed this problem only today. Maybe you don't fix it.
Problem is with Tomcat URI Encoding. Default encoding is ISO-8859-1, but from APEX comes URL with message encoded in UTF-8.
Action to fix this is add URIEncoding="UTF-8" Connector element in server.xml and restart tomcat.

  • Safari won't print: "Error while printing" message

Recently updated to Safari 6.2, on on 2012 Mac Pro, OSX 10.8.5. Tried to print a page from Amazon, and received "Error while printing" message. I then have to force quit Safari. I am able to print from Indesign, OpenOffice, and the same Amazon page from Chrome with no problem, so the problem seems to lie with Safari.
I ran Disk Warrior, and rebuilt permissions, but the problem persists.
I am reluctant to call Apple and be told that I have to reinstall system software, this seems related to my recent software update of Safari.
Could use some suggestions here if anyone knows what the problem might be.

It might be the Safari cache or cookies in Safari in you want to try ..
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
No open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, try troubleshooting extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • Help - Receive message "an error occurred printing this document" when using airport express and Ipad

Hi, I am trying to set up an airport express hub to work with a Star tsp100 receipt printer and IPad 2. The IPad is being used to accept credit card payments and I was hoping to print receipts out wirelessly using the airport express and receipt printer. I checked to make sure the airport express has the latest firmware and it does. The IPad software is also updated to the latest 7.1.  I then connected the Airport express and IPad and the network setup with no problems. I connected the receipt printer to the airport express using the USB slot available. While the printer comes up as available, when I attempt to print something, I get the error message "An error occurred printing this document" and I can cancel or Try again. No matter how many times I try, I continue to get this message and I lost as to the cause. When I disconnect and reconnect, another instance of the printer appears, but receive the same cryptic error message when I try to print. Totally lost, please help

    Hi kelston3,
In order to print from an iPad you will need to use a printer that is compatible with AirPrint, which is described in the following article -
    About AirPrint
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
AirPrint printers must be wireless on your network - not connected via USB to the base station. There is a list of printers that are known to be compatible with AirPrint in the article.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L

  • Error while printing message

    Hi
I'm hoping someone can help me I have a Macbook and have been using a HP Deskjet D5560 printer with it since i bought it and now it will not let me print each time i go to print it says error while printing. I have gone into some settings and had a little look but can't seem to fix the problem. Has anyone got any ideas? I am very basic with computers with things like this so please keep it simple if possible!
    Thanks
    Anna

You may have a file permissions error or some other corruption.
Try these one at a time (restart and try adding after each) -
Reset Printing System - a menu choice in Printer Setup Utility.
Download the 10.4.10 COMBO updater and re-update with that.
Try the free trial of Printer Setup Repair from www.fixamac.net.

  • Photosmart 7510 e all in one series Printer failure Oxc19a0023

After having been turned off for several months, I plugged in my 7510e and the following message came on the screen.
Printer failure, Oxc19a0023, Please turn printer off then on. I did this with no change. I unplugged both electric plus and USB and reconnected. I removed the cartridges and replaced but the same message keeps coming and I cannot get passed this message. If anyone has had this problem and has been able to fix this or if anyone know how to fix this I would really appreciate some help. Thank you.

Hello @TSLI76 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing 0x errors.  I would like to help!
I would recommend removing the ink cartridges, and performing a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend this document on An 'Ink System Failure' or a '0x ...' Error Message Displays on the HP Printer Control Panel.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Canon iR C2380i Failure Message

    Hi,
I'm trying to setup my laptop so I can print wireless via a Canon iR C2380i. I'm running OS X 10.6.7 on a MacBook Pro i5.
The problem is when I'm trying to print a document, I get the failure message "AN ERROR OCCURRED.: -50" and then a print with the same message is printed.
I'm using the PS v3.20 driver as I read this would be the best to use.
Anyone has an idea what to do?
    Thanks,
    Mads

Hello and welcome to Apple Discussions.
The -50 error can occur when you have selected the wrong IP protocol when creating the print queue. The PS v3 and UFR2 v2 drivers prefer the LPD protocol. If you created the IP queue using IPP then this can cause the error. So if you did select IPP for the protocol, then delete the current queue and add it again, this time selecting IP > LPD.
The cause of the error can be that the copier does not support the printer language of the driver being used. I agree that PS is the best driver to use but you need to ensure that the copier does support this print language. You can confirm this by opening a web browser and typing the IP address of the iR C2380. This will open the internal web page of the copier, called Remote UI. With this open, down the left column you will see a variety of buttons. Select the one that says Add Func (short for Additional Functions). In the expanded list then select Custom Settings. Now in the right pane you should see the heading of Printer Settings. Under this will be the protocols supported. You will see UFRII but you also want to see PS (short for Postscript). If you don't see PS then you will have to use the UFRII driver on the Mac. The latest version, 2.24, resolves an issue with OS X 10.6.7 where the document would not print due to the default Quality Setting.
If the iR C2380i does have Postscript and changing the PS driver print queue to LPD still causes an error then I may need some more information about the network setup. You mention using wireless. Do you know if the iR C2380i is connecting via Ethernet to the same wireless router that the Mac is using?

  • Parse error with print

    Hi,
I tried to build a custome web gallery into LR 4.3 on MAC.
I started with example from LR SDK zip.
In my index.html sample file, i simply declare some variables at the top like this:
<%--[[ Define some variables to make locating other resources easier     firstPage was defined in our manifest.]]      local others = "content"    local theRoot = "."    local mySize = "large"    local firstImage    local title    local caption    local width    local height      local LrLogger = import 'LrLogger'    local myLogger = LrLogger( 'libraryLogger' )          myLogger:enable('print')          local debug, info, warn, err = myLogger:quick( 'debug', 'info', 'warn', 'err' ) %>
After, inside a script tag, i would like to print into index.html outputed file a json file with images name.
Before that i simply tried to print a test string, and i got in Console app this message : SyntaxError: Parse error
    Where am i wrong ?
    Thanks
    Regards

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are getting a printhead error with your HP Officejet 6830. I am happy to help!  I would recommend to go through the steps within this guide, 'Problem with Printhead,' 'Printer Failure,' 'Ink System Failure,' or a '0x...' or a 'C2...' Error Message Displays. You will also want to make sure you are using Genuine HP Ink Cartridges, and that none of your Ink Cartridges are low or empty.  Hope this guide helps!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”
