Error Sending a notification from the Workflow

Hi All,
We are having the following error when we are trying to send a notification to the user.
The is just a FYI notification so the workflow process is showing Completed with Errors.
Then Error Message has the following text.

Actually in my case it is a Sales Order OEOL workflow which is customised. Almost 90-100 SO get stuck with the following below error. When we try to run the "Retry Workflow Error Activitivity" program it clears them all except few. Please can you advice.

How to send email notifications from a workflow?

I am having problems trying to get notification emails to work from a workflow. I have done the following:
1.Checked notification to file is commented out in waveset.properties
2.Set SMTP server and port setting in Configure > Servers > email template
3.Set SMTP and port setting in Account creation notification template.
4.I am then running the following workflow code in reconsiliation per user workflow:

If I add a valid email address into the "toAddress" in the Account Creation Notification email template, the error goes away and reconsile completes, but no email is sent.
Could someone advise what I can look into to sort this and get it working.

You're running into a common IDM bug. I've hit it a few times too. I'm not sure of the root cause (sometimes using notifications as you did works for me sometimes it doesn't) but there's a workflow sub-process called "Notify" that you might look into. It's got a few extra features (such as retries) that the direct provisioning class does not.
Call it using something like the following action:

          <Argument name="from" value="[email protected]"/>

Sending Mail Notification From the database server

Hi All,
I want to send the mail notification to any email id from the database server.
I used the in built Package UTL_SMTP(pp_to,pp_from,pp_subject,pp_hostname) but i didn't got the success. Actually i dont know how and what parameters has to pass to this package .
It will great help if some body helps with the an example.

    - Creation of a Proposal by the Employee
    - Evaluation & Approval of Proposal by the Manager
I have these 2 doubts :-
    - I need to send a notification to the manager on creation of a proposal. How do i go about it???
    - Also i need to send a notification to the user regarding the approval or rejection of the proposal.
Should i create a Callable Object in GP and add that in the Action Create Proposal???
please guide me regarding the same.

Depending on your requirements, you may also need to configure specific composite form properties.
Apart from that, if you have a ready composite form created previously, you can upload it by checking the Field-Based Template checkbox in the beginning of the wizard for creating composite form.Thus, the wizard does not make you create a new one from scratch, but rather upload your own.

Hello Experts,
I am working on integrating QM notification to logging of NC in SAP ME. Relevant settings in ECC are in place. I have created an NC code as an ERP QN Code and have assigned ERP catalog, ERP Code group and ERP code as maintained in SAP. Also, my user in ME is assigned the ERP user name.
When I log an NC and complete the operation, "qualityNotificationRequest" is triggered but it goes to error with the message "Invalid catalog entry".
There is only original document in the trace which does show the catalog type same as maintained in the NC code (albeit in small letter - not sure if this makes any difference).
Would appreciate any input on this.

Hi,
There are two groups of Quality notification settings:
NC code maintenance
QualityNotification workflow configuration
These two sets of parameters are passed in different parts of the BAPI and are independent of each other, in that in ERP they are stored in different places. Please see screenshot below from QM03 transaction with the values that came from ME.
Header data – is stored on the QN Subject tab. These are the parameters from the workflow configuration.
On the Items tab, the data here comes from the settings in NC code maintenance. Each NC logged for a particular Shop Order is created as a separate line on this Item tab.
The NC Details are in the Long text Field

Sending encrypted emails from the iPad is not working

I can't get sending encrypted emails working on my iPad3 running iOS 8.0.2
Let me explain what I did:
1. I created S/MIME certificates for 2 email addresses on my iMac in Keychain Access. One email address exists only on the iMac the other only on the iPad.
2. I set "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust" in both certificates.
3. I exported 1 S/MIME certificate (p12) and installed it on the iPad. Then I deleted this certificate and its private&public keys in iMac Keychain Access
4. I exchanged public certificates between the 2 devices. I installed one certificate in iMac Keychain Access and the other in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles.
5. On the iMac in the iPad certificate I set "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust"
6. I tested whether I can send and receive signed and/or encrypted emails
Results:
1. From the iMac I can send signed and/or encrypted emails to the iPad.
    On the iPad I can read the encrypted emails. The signature is not trusted
2. On the iPad I can send signed messages to the iMac. On the iMac the signature is trusted.
    I cannot send encrypted emails from the iPad to the iMac. The iPad doesn't know about the public certificate in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles
So much for the straight forward part. Now it gets a bit more complicated and confusing.
1. I deleted the iMac certificate in the iPad/Settings/General/Profiles. Then in iPad Mail I opened the signed mail coming from the iMac.
    I viewed the untrusted certificate in Mail and installed it. From this point on all signed emails from the iMac are trusted.
    Strangely the by this method installed certificate doesn't appear in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles.
    Furthermore I still cannot send encrypted messages to the iMac. This certificate installation seems to be used only to check trust worthiness of the signature.
    Installing on top the iMac public certificate in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles doesn't enable to send encrypted messages from the iPad either.
To be sure that this problem relates to the iPad certificate management and is not related to an error by me I did the following:
1. I transferred a p12 file for a certificate that I created in my iMac to a PC running Windows7.
2. I transferred a p12 file plus its public key (.pem) that I created in my iMac to another iMac into Keychain Access. (I have not tested if the pem is needed).
3. On the other iMac and the PC I made sure that the certificates are trusted.
    On the PC that means in the Certificate Manager the p12 needs to be in the "Personal" folder and in the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" folder.
    The public keys need to be in the "Trusted People" folder and the "Other People" folder. One can just copy/paste the certificates.
4. In both cases I deleted the certificate and public/private keys on my iMac.
5. I exchanged public certificates between the devices.
6. I tested exchanging signed and/or encrypted emails between my iMac and the PC and my iMac and the other iMac.
Result:
1. I can send signed and/or encrypted emails to the other iMac and the PC
2. The PC and the other iMac trust the signature from my iMac and can read the encrypted emails
3. My iMac can read encrypted emails from the PC and the other iMac
4. My iMac trusts emails with signatures from the PC and the other iMac.
Everything is working as it should.
After the above test I wanted to see whether I can set up encrypted email exchange between the iPad and the PC. Strangely iPad Mail recognized the public certificate from the PC installed in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles and allowed me to send an encrypted email to the PC. However, on the PC I was unable to read the encrypted email. And the other way around, encrypted emails send from the PC to the iPad cannot be read on the iPad.
My conclusion from all this testing is that iPad mail encryption is still "under construction".

I was able to resolve the above described problem to some degree. Setting up sending and receiving encrypted emails between iOS and OSX I have working.
What is still not working is reading encrypted emails on the iPad/iOS8 received from Windows 7 PC. And sending encrypted emails to Windows 7 PC.

How can i send email notification from UCM?

I am new to this technology. I need to send email notification to the user's, whenever file is checked-in. What is the procedure to send an email notification let us take GMAIL from UCM.
1) Now I have installed UCM in my machine. Do I need to install any other software to implement this feature(sending email)?
2) I read it in a document, that configuration is needed in a config file in order to send email. What details do i need to give in these fields,

You will need to have an SMTP server of some sort that you can use. I think out of the box, you may only be able to use an SMTP server that allows anonymous sending or sending unauthenticated (e.g. an internal server). Any good SMTP server (that is not an internal server) would not allow this for security reasons.
Thus, I think if you want to use an external SMTP server such as Gmail, you will need to write custom Java code. See this thread for more information: UCM SMTP server Configuration

2. What is the role of INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI ( /dir/CacheRefresh )?
3. If I need to require cache notifications to be sent from PI (ABAP 7.1) to ECC (ABAP 7.0), do i need to have INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI in ECC?

Just want to be clear about one thing. If INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI stores the cache updates, and I need to send these updates to ECC ( which is on a seperate AS ), ideally I should be having the RFC destination in ECC as well.
My understanding was if the RFC destination exist in PI, it will send cache notifications to the ABAP of PI. If we need to send cache notifications to some other ABAP system in the landscape, we need to have the RFC destination there as well. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Errors were found when compiling the workflow

My company has consolodated many SharePoint sites into one with many subsites to save money. I ported my existing libraries from theold site to the new site (Same version of SP). The workflows did not go with the libraries, as expected. I re-created each
workflow, and every time have gotten the same error message: "Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot run."
When I click Advanced I see some variation of the following:
(-1, -1) Compilation failed. Could not find file 'C:\Users\TEMP.*domain*\AppData\Local\Temp\ **and then a different .dll file every time'
I have not seen any other examples of this online. For some, creating a new task and history list for the workflow allowed it to compile, but not always.

According to your post, my understanding is that Errors are found when compiling the workflow.
I recommend that you can check whether the file exists under the path 'C:\Users\TEMP.*domain*\AppData\Local\Temp\”.
If it exists, you can create a silmple workflow to check whether it works.
If it does work, you can add executionTimeout property in web.config file to increase the timeout interval(Make a copy of the web.config file before editing anything).

Customize appraisal notifications from the Self-Service HRMS

I have a requirement to customize some appraisal notifications from the Self-Service HRMS. I copied the HRSSA workflow, renamed it and changes some of the messages. I then went to AMS (Approval Management System) and changed the mandatory item WORKFLOW_ITEM_TYPE to have value of my customized workflow, but it still uses the seeded workflow HRSSA when I ran through the HR Appraisal process. Can anyone advises what more needed to be done?

Are any Houston Chronicle for iPad readers not reliably receiving their daily push notification from the app?

Ever since the update to ios 7, the push notification from the Chronicle has been VERY unreliable. Is anybody else having a similar experience?

Today one my task in the DAC Etl failed and when I opened the DAC log file of it. I saw the error description as below

Since there is no much information in DAC log file about the failure, I opened the PLP_SRC_WH_AP_Invoice_Reconciliation session log file.

DB Connect Load - "Unknow error while uploading data from the DB Table"

Hi Experts,
We have our BI7 system connected to Oracle DB based third party tool. The loads are performing quite well in DEV environment.
I would like to know, how we transport DB Connect datasources to Quality systems? Any different process to be followed for DB Connect datasources?
At present the connections between BI Quality and the third party quality systems are established. We transported the DataSource from BI DEV system to BI quality system, but on trigerring an infopackage we are not able to perform loads. It prompts - "Unknow error while uploading data from the DB Table".
Also on comparing the DataSources in DEV system and Quality system there are no fields in "Proposal" tab of datasource in Quality system. Also I cannot change or activate Datasource in Quality system as we dont have change access in quality.

Sorry for bumping an old thread ....
Did this issue get ever get resolved?
I am facing the same one. The loads work successfully in Dev. The transport for DBConnect DS also moved in successfully.
One strange this is that DB User for dev did not automatically change to db user from quality when I transported the DBConnect datasource. DBCon DS still shows me the DB User from Dev in Quality system
I get "Unknown Error" whenever I trigger the data package.
