  • Calling SQL Loader using HOST command from Developer Forms 4.5

    I want to execute a set of code from D2K Forms 4.5 which has interfface with Client - OS ( In my case Windows NT/XP). I want to execute SQL Loader from Forms using Host Command and then after completion of that process, I want to do next transcations ( depending upond success of HOST/SQL Loader).
    How to achive this?
    I tried writing code like this ...
    l_vc_command := 'sqlldr73'
                        ||' USERID='||l_vc_username||'/'||l_vc_password||'@'||l_vc_connect_string
                        ||' CONTROL='||l_vc_filepath||'Upload.ctl'
                        ||' DATA='||LTRIM(RTRIM(l_vc_fileloc))
                        ||' LOG='||l_vc_filepath|| l_vc_log_file || '_' || l_dt_sysdate_str ||'.log'
                        ||' BAD='||l_vc_filepath|| l_vc_bad_file || '_' || l_dt_sysdate_str ||'.bad'
                        ||' DISCARD='||l_vc_filepath|| l_vc_discard_file || '_' || l_dt_sysdate_str ||'.dsc';
    HOST(l_vc_command,NO_PROMPT);
    After this command i want to do some other code execution. so even if it fails or success, next code is executed. How to control this?
    Please help..

    Forms6i running on W2000, Rdbms 8.1.7
    in Forms I added a button TEST,
    Trigger when-button-pressed : host('test.bat') ;
    in directory .......\frm I added file test.bat :
    REM ===============
    cd /d C:\........\ldr
    pause
    sqlldr parfile=test.par
    pause
    type test.log
    pause
    exit
    REM ================
    now, pressing TEST button opens DOS window, telling me what's going on, running sqlldr, finally going back to forms
    Are you using NO_PROMPT or NO_SCREEN option of HOST command ?
    Had a look at Forms 4.5 manuals, there is no mentioning of (a)synchronously operation in connection with HOST command.

    Hi ThinkingEye,
    Please check the definition of the control file. Did you for instance inclose the file name in quotes?
    That's usually the reason for the 466 error with SQL*Loader.
    Also check column definitions and column formats that are in the definition.
    Cheers, Patrick
    ps Is this thread related to the other 2 you have with the same target table STG_GEM_EVENT_ITS?

  • SQL*Loader-704 Error

    Hi, I'm trying to get a simple PHP page working on the pre-compiled HP-UX Apache Server(Itanium Build), that calls a Unix script which in turn submits a job. In this process SQL*Loader is called, and while it works just fine when I'm in the Unix prompt, when I try it from the PHP Page, it fails with the following error:
    SQL*Loader-704: Internal error: ulconnect: OCIServerAttach[0]
    ORA-30136: Drop-in compatibility is not supported for this application
    Any thoughts?
    Also: PHP version is 5.2.0 if it matters, and oci8 is being included and is functioning properly.

    ...Ugh, it was working for about 5 seconds on my test page, but now it's just giving me an exit status of 137(Anyone have any clue what this means? I can't find anything that tells me what these exit number means and it's really starting to bug me) after I commented and uncommented a few lines to check to see what caused it to work...Hah! Works again. New Question time:
    LD_PRELOAD, what does this variable have to do with SQL*Loader, since I'm using it in the apache start-up to do some stuff with oci8[No idea if it's necessary] and when I, assumedly, set it to "null" it works, but when it keeps my initial value it breaks and gives me my 137 error status with my original errors.

  • Error with SQL Loader 10g

    Hi,
    I use SQL Loader to load files into my database running on Suse Linux. The loader is invoked by a Java application.
    In Oracle 9i my string would be something like
    sqlldr DATA='opt/test information/sample.dat' PARFILE=/opt/test.par
    It worked.
    When I ran the same string in 10g I got an error like
    " multiple values not allowed for parameter 'data' "
    I tried escaping the ' with a \ , like
    sqlldr DATA=\'opt/test information/sample.dat\' PARFILE=/opt/test.par
    Now it gives me a different error
    SQL*Loader-500: Unable to open file (opt/test information/302.DAT)
    SQL*Loader-553: file not found
    I cannot remove the space from the directory. It has to be "test information".
    Can anybody help me out?
    Thanks,
    Karthik

    or better yet, you are on Linux so you have the luxury of creating a symbolic link to that directory and make the sym link without spaces and then use that in your sqlldr command line.
    you can keep the directory with spaces and have sqlldr run from the sym link.

  • Help Needed regarding SQL Loader Error

    Hi,
    I am trying to insert some records into two tables using same control file.
    I am using the follwing command to load data
    sqlload "$ORAUSER" CONTROL="$LDRFILE" DATA="$DATA_PATH/$DATA_FILE" BAD="$BAD_FILE" LOG="$LOG_FILE" DISCARD="$DISCARD_FILE" ERRORS="$MAX_ERRS"
    I am getting the error: SQL-LOADER - 350: Illegal combination of non-alphanumeric characters
    #!/bin/ksh
    Please suggest me what I need to do.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas.

    it appears that you are using this line code in your korn shell script. if you try to do a manual run on the unix command line do you still get the same error?
    also can you post a sample value for all the parameters you have.

    Hi,
    running SQL*Loader (Release 8.1.7.2.1) causes an error "SQL*Loader-704: Internal error: Maximum record length must be <= [10000000]". This error occurs when SQLLoader is trying to load several thousand records into a database table. Each record is less than 250 bytes in length.

    As a second guess, the terminator changes or goes missing at some point in the data file. If you are running on *NIX, try wc -l data_file_name.  This will give a count of the number of lines (delimited by CHR(10) ) that are in the file.  If this is not close to the number you expected, then that is your problem.
    You could also try gradually working through the data file loading 100 records, then 200, then 300 etc. to see where it starts to fail.

  • Error while loading data using SQL*Loader

    Hi All,
    I am now in process of loading data from MS SQL to Oracle Database.
    I am getting the data in excel format and i will convert them into csv.
    Upto converting everything is working fine.
    In MS SQL, table columns are case sensitive.
    So i created those tables in oracle db as same.
    There is one column "MaxNumber" which is of type float(49).
    The column is case sensitive.
    in the control file first i given as
    "MaxNumber" "TO_NUMBER(:MaxNumber,'99,999.99')"
    After executing the SQL*Loader i am getting the error
    SQL*Loader-466: Column MAXNUMBER does not exist in table TABLEONE.
    I changed the control file entry as
    "MaxNumber" "TO_NUMBER(:"MaxNumber",'99,999.99')"
    After the execution i got the error
    SQL*Loader-350: Syntax error at line 13.
    Expecting "," or ")", found "MaxDiscount".
    "MaxNumber" "TO_NUMBER(:"MaxNumber",'99,999.99')"
    Please Guide me in this issue.
    Regards
    Salih KM

    What I'm saying is, verify the column name. Dont post if not possible.
    Example follows, with one table intentionally "hidden".
    SQL> create table "tEsT" ("MaxNumber" float, "MaxnumbeR" number);
    SQL> select table_name,column_name from user_tab_columns where table_name like 't%';
    TABLE_NAME                     COLUMN_NAME
    tEsT                           MaxNumber
    tEsT                           MaxnumbeR
    teST                           iD
