Oracle Coherence: The Manifest is corrupted or inaccessible; some functionality may be disabledI can startup coherence manually via the console tools but can't get by this error when starting from within tomcat 6.0.26. However, the functionality of Coherence seems normal except the logging is missing the information contained within the Manifest. I have edited the Manifest manually, replaced it with one from 3.5.3, but nothing seems to work.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello,
I took the following steps to attempt to reproduce this:
I created a JSP as such:
<html>
<%@ page import="com.tangosol.net.*"%>
<body >
<%!
NamedCache cache = CacheFactory.getCache("test");
%>
<tt>
Got NamedCache: <%=cache.toString()%>
</tt>
</body>
</html>I called it index.jsp and placed it in the root directory of a WAR file. In the WAR file I created WEB-INF/lib/coherence.jar. When I deploy this, everything works fine. Can you try this in your Tomcat setup and see if it works for you?
Thanks,
Patrick

It was then compiled and a war file was created. Surprisingly this report JSP works fine when i run my webapplication from the embedded OC4J instance for JDeveloper, but when i try to run it from the 9iAS server i get the above mentioned error. Do i need to have some settings for running the reports JSP, please advise.

    Can you please help me in deploying jdeveloper (9.0.3.1)war file to 9iAS release 1, when I try to run, none of the jsp's execute, I get java OutOf Memory error, I also think that there may be some version compatibility between jdev jdk and 9iAS jdk.

    How can I delete files from it?

    The startup disk is the internal SSD in your MBA.  You may delete files by draging the file  to Trash (or clicking on them and then execute COMMAND+Delete).  Then empty Trash.

  • Getting "java.lang.NullPointerException" error message when trying to run an OATS OpenScript file from Eclipse to Create a record in Oracle EBS

    Hello,
    I'm trying to run a simple OpenScript script in Eclipse that creates a record (a Supplier in this case) in Oracle E-Business Suite. So I copied the the script file from OpenScript and created it as a Class in Eclipse.  Then I created a main class to call the methods within the script class but no matter what method I call (initialize, run or finalize) I'm getting the java.lang.NullPointerException message. The error doesn't seem to be related with any specific line in the script but with the way that I'm calling it.
    Should I call the OpenScript class from my main class in a different way? (see my examples below)
    BTW, all external .jar files coming with OATS have been added to my project in Eclipse.
    1) Here's the main class I created to call the OpenScript method (Eclipse auto-corrected my main class adding a Try and Catch around the method call):
    public class Test {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            nvscript nvs = new nvscript();
            try {
                nvs.initialize();
            } catch (Exception e) {
                // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                e.printStackTrace();
    2) Here's the script from OpenScript (the actual script has more steps but I'm just using the first one for a proof of concept):
    import oracle.oats.scripting.modules.basic.api.*;

  • Bad Magic Number error trying to deploy WAR file from Netweaver Studio

    We hae an application that runs fine as a WAR in both Tomcat and Weblogic and we are trying to deploy it on Netweaver.  I tried both to use the External deployment archives and the Workspace Deployable Archives.  In both cases, the deployment fails with error:
    Bad magic number, found 0x80CCF1C3, expected 0xCAFEBABE.
    I know the server is working because I can deploy a very simple test application with no errors.  The server is a new installation of 7.1.
    Any help on how to get past this error or how to troubleshoot further is appreciated.

    Looks like it's complaining about a missing shared library. Check weblogic.xml for library-ref elements and make sure the domain you are deploying to has those libraries deployed.

  • Error starting OBIEE 11G coreapplications after loading new RPD file in EM

    Hi,
    After I have loaded my new RPD in EM, and restarting the BI coreapplications.
    Basically the symptoms I am getting are very similar to this: https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2129556, I have tried removing other (sampleLIte RPDs) with no luck. Not sure what else I can do. The RPD's physical layer draws data from SQL Server. Have tested the system DSN and its ok.
    Here is a screenshot of the Error: http://i.imgur.com/eDZBM2Z.png. Any help appreciated.
    Using OBEE 11G in Windows 7.

    Its weird.
    As part of my own investigation, I went to physical layer and saw my SQL Server was set wrong. I set it to 2008 the correct version.
    Also my ODBC was set at 3.5, I changed this to 2.0. After doing this I saved it and reloaded it onto EM and it all worked. Just to verify that this was indeed the root cause, I reverted the settings back to original and loaded it again. It works.
    Not sure in the end what was the root cause.

  • "Error 1 when trying to open and read datalog file from several subVi's

    So, I've been coding up this model based controller and have hit a snag:
    The program starts and opens a datalog file and passes the refnum to two loops.
    At a regular time interval (every 2 minutes), one loop (that's iterating once per second) writes the current information to a datalog file.
    Meanwhile, another loop (that's iterating continuously) checks to see if the file is big enough to support training of the model, if it is, then the training process begins. Once this happens a period of recent information is read from the file. Initially, this read would fail and return 0 data. However, this problem was fixed by passing in the data file path rather then the refnum and having the vi open,
    read, and close the data file. With the path, the vi was able to read all the data. However, still in the same loop, another vi downstream tries to read the file and returns error code 1, and no data is read. I tried passing that vi the path and seeing if it made any difference to open, read and close the file. But even then the read failed (with error code 1).
    I don't understand why it can read in one vi and not the other!
    Does anyone know what is going on here? It seems that semaphores would probably solve the problem, but would prefer a simpler solution. Thank you very much.

    Try passing the data to the continuous loop through a LV2-style global. That way you are only access the file in one place. But then that begs the question, if the data is passed internally, do you really need the file at all?

  • Error Starting Database Control when upgrading 10.2.0.1 - 10.2.0.4

    Ran the upgrade on Monday. Not a grid. Single instance.
    It failed and we were forced to roll back using an OS backup...
    The database upgrade assistant failed with an error that it 'could not complete the Enterprise Manager configuration with the following error ' Error starting the database control refer to the log file at ..emConfig.log.
    The log is large (102k)
    In looking at the log, other than several entries stating:No value was set for the parameter ORACLE_HOSTNAME, the first thing of note is 'invalid node list' followed by two java exceptions. The log shows the successful deletion of the existing service OracleDBConsole
    and the error of not able to read ..staticports.ini file (it does not exist)
    The next error (futher down the log) is an exit value of 1 when java is executing rt.jar to 'update home'
    eventually resulting in another java stack trace.
    Is this enough information to help with ideas, or do I need to post the entire log file?

  • Error auto-deploying a Web App (.WAR file)

    Hello,
    Weblogic 6.1 throws a FileNotFoundException about 10% of the time for me when
    auto-deploying a Web app. Has anyone else run into this? I searched the newsgroups
    but didn't come up with anything, so I thought I'd start here.
    My build/deploy cycle is managed by an Ant build file that creates a WAR file
    of my web application and then drops it into $WL_HOME/config/mydomain/applications.
    Occasionally when I do this, I get the error shown below. Originally I was building
    the WAR file right in the ../applications directory, so I thought that might be
    an issue. So, I started building the WAR file in a staging directory and copying
    it into ../applications. No luck. Next, I tried deleting the original WAR file
    from ../applications, and THEN copying the new one over from the staging directory.
    Still fails occasionally.
    Let's see. This is Weblogic 6.1 on Win2K. The only other thing is that my dev/build/staging
    environment is on a network share, and it's from there that I'm copying the WAR
    file to my local machine (where WL is running).
    If someone has seen and/or knows what is up with this, great. If not, it's not
    a show-stopper.
    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    David

    Michael,
    This is a problem with 6.1 SP2 also -- a very annoying error. Without auto deploy
    working properly, developers are spending alot of time waiting for WebLogic to restart.
    HELP!!! we need this fixed.
    I see the EXACT same stack trace (ERROR).

    Hi.
    This may be a known issue that was addressed in sp2. If you are not already
    at that sp level I suggest you upgrade.

    You JSP has four compile errors:
    C:\Tomcat\work\Standalone\localhost\Tree\jspfiles\tree_jsp.java:8: '.' expected
    import java;Invalid import. You need to import a whole package (*) or single class.
    import java; is wrong
    import java.util.*; is right
    import java.util.List; is right
    C:\Tomcat\work\Standalone\localhost\Tree\jspfiles\tree_jsp.java:80: illegal start of expression
    private static java.util.Vector jspxincludes;
    C:\Tomcat\work\Standalone\localhost\Tree\jspfiles\tree_jsp.java:82: illegal start of expression
    public java.util.List getIncludes() {Check the lines before these to make sure you didn't leave off a semi-colon, parens (')') or bracket ('}').
    C:\Tomcat\work\Standalone\localhost\Tree\jspfiles\tree_jsp.java:280: '}' expectedYou are missing a closing bracket ('}') somewhere.
    The message about the "line -1" error is the standard message that is always given when there are compile errors in the JSP.

  • Tomat (5.5.x)error when expanding war file with .cvsignore

    I am using the sysdeo Eclipse Tomcat plugin (V3.0) that allows me to create a war file from my eclipse project. In that war file is a .cvsignore file at the top level. Apparently, that cause the war expansion to fail with the following message. Any idea why it failed when encountering .cvsignore?
    Thanks.
