ERROR When coonecting to SQL via DBCO Connections

Hi,
Error when connecting to SQL using DBCO connections. I am getting an dump as "Set up of a secondary connection to the database system failed. It is possible that the data required for setting up the connection via EXEC SQL (Native SQL)is faulty."
plaese help.
Thanks

Hi
Checking the dbsl_w<NN> as it is explained in point 3 of the 'Troubleshooting' section of [SAP Note 738371|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/738371] would help a lot to know the reason of the failure.
It is most likely that, the information provided in DBCO are not complete/accurate

  • Errors when trying to extract via UD Connect (BI 7.0)

    Hi all,
in a BI 7.0 system I can't select any UD Connect source object on the "Extraction" tab page of the DataSource maitenance screen. If I type the table name (which is "DICTIONARY") into it and then hit the "Proposal" tab page, I get the following error:
Errors occurred during extraction of UD Connect object field-list: UDCADAPTERROR::RSSDK|200|Table: DICTIONARY not found
We had a restart of the system the weekend. Before that, I could easily select from the list of available UD Connect source objects (tables and views from the connected MS SQL Server) and the system showed correctly all fields of that object in the "Proposal" tab page.
I think there is a problem with the JDBC Connector in the J2EE server. How can I check, if the connection between the JDBC Connector and the connected database is working? Unfortunately I have no access to the Visual Administrator for the J2EE engine because I am not from the basis team.
Thanks to any answers in advance!
    Best regards,
    Philipp

    Hi again,
I can precise the problems I have:
I'd like to extract data from a table in a MS SQL Server 2000 database named DICTIONARY. This table has the following columns:
    DICTIONARYID (numeric(16,2), Not Null)
    LANGUAGECODE (char(2), Not Null)
    TYPE (varchar(24), Not Null)
    VALUE (numeric(38,0), Not Null)
    VALUENAME (varchar(48), Not Null)
    DESCRIPTION (varchar(128), Not Null)
    attr31 (numeric(16,2), Not Null)
    attr32 (numeric(16,2), Not Null)
    attr33 (numeric(16,2), Not Null)
    attr34 (numeric(16,2), Not Null)
When starting the data extraction in the InfoPackage I get an error in the monitor. Deeper down in the J2EE server logs I get the following exception which is the reason for the error:
    Date : 11/21/2006
    Time : 8:53:48:452
Message : Exception: Value '30.00' cannot be converted to NUM type at field ATTR31

Actually there is a record that has 30.00 as value in the attr31 field. I think there are problems with the numeric(16,2) fields. I tried to use different data types in the corresponding fields of the UD Connect data source (e. g. DEC, FLTP) with different length and decimal places settings. But the exception is always the same (see above).
Another issue: I can only specify "Internal" for the format in the data source maintenance. If I use "External" or "Check" the system says: "External format not supported as data type is not 'CURR'".
Do you have any idea why this conversion exception occurs and what I could do about that?
Thanks to any answers in advance!

I've recall that I've tried to help people with this error before, but I'm sure they were able to sort it out.
    Anyway, this blog post,

suggests the issue is a corrupted user profile, and you should try to use a different service account.
This blog also seems to have a simple solution, but I cannot vouch for that it will work:

  • ORA-06502: error when inserting into table via db link with long datatype

    Folks,
I am getting the following error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small.
This occurs when an insert is done via a database link into a table that has a LONG data type for one of the columns, and the string contains some carriage returns and or line feeds.
I have checked by removing the db link, and inserting into a local table with identical column data types, where there is no error.
So this might be another db link bug?
So I need to remove the carriage returns and/or line feeds
in my pl/sql block in the page process. I have tried
    l_text := REPLACE(l_text, CHR(10), ' ');
    l_text := REPLACE(l_text, CHR(13), NULL);
but still getting the ORA-06502. Would really appreciate some advice here, please.
    Cheers
    KIM

    Scott,
    Time to 'fess up':
My fault sorry, the error was coming from another page process where I had allowed insufficient string length for one of the variables, and my error message did not identify the page process clearly.
This leads me to make a request for future releases, could the system error messages state which page process caused the problem?
One other thing I notice, and this might be a feature not a fault, the page processes are numbered: "Page Process:      3 of 5". However process 3 is not the 3rd one to be processed, and probably refers to the order in which they are created. Should the number reflect the process order?
    Cheers
    KIM

  • ODBC Error when migrating from SQL Server 2008 to SQL Anywhere 12

    Hello community,
    i have the following requirement:
I need to migrate a Database with some Demo data into a SQL Anywhere 12 Database. The SQL Anywhere 12 Database is part of the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP7 installation and came with the same as OEM Product.
The Environment looks like the following:
    DB1 is a MS SQL Server 2008 R2 64 Bit running on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Bit.
DB2 is the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP7 installation with the shipped SQL Anywhere 12 (12.0.1.3873) Database running on SLES 11.3 64 Bit
CL1 is my Windows 7 64 Bit Client where Sybase Central is installed in 64 Bit. On CL1 i have a 64 Bit System ODBC Connection connecting to DB1 successfully.
Basically i followed the following (pretty straight forward) tutorial:
Migrating a SQL Server Database to SQL Anywhere White Paper-Technical: Mobile Enterprise, Database Management iAnywhere …
When i want to test the connection from inside Sybase Central (During the migration process) i receive the following error:
From inside Sybase Central my connection looks as follows:
And from the ODBC Manager the connection looks as follows:
Personally i found is strange that the Sybase ODBC Driver Manager drops the error. I would expect that the MS SQL ODBC Driver Manager pops the error it its related to the ODBC DSN to DB1.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks and Regards
    -Seb.

    Hi Sebastian,
The data from the SQL Server database must be migrated to an existing SQL Anywhere database.  Could you please tell me where this SQL Anywhere database resides and how are you connecting to it?
The error message is saying that the connection to the SQL Anywhere remote database server is failing, as opposed to the connection to the SQL Server database.

Can anyone offer any help on this problem ?
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
The problem could be because of a wrong JDBC url or user id or password. Check whether the entries are the correct one.
Check out "java.sql.SQLException: invalid arguments in call" in google.

  • Error when refreshing WEBI report with Universe Connection Type "SSO"

    Hi Experts:
We are trying to refresh the Webi report in Infoview with Universe Connection set as "Use Single Sign On when refreshing the report at view time", so that we can leverage SAP OLAP authorization variable from Bex Query which the Universe is built on.
However got the error of "incomplete logon data" after all the configurations done following below blogs:
    SNC Part 1
    /people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2009/07/03/businessobjects-enterprise-and-client-side-snc-part-1-of-2
    SNC Part 2
    /people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2009/07/03/businessobjects-enterprise-and-client-side-snc-part-2-of-2
We already have Win AD SSO to SAP setup, and in BO CMC, Win AD user is mapped to SAP user ID.
    The SNC settings are:
    - AD Account: service.test.bobj (all lower-letters)
    - 32-bit gsslib on the BO server, and 64 bit on the BW server side.
    - SNC0: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
    - SU01 --> BO_Service ; SNC: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
    - Entitlement system tab --> username: BO_Service
    SNC Name: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
    - SNC settings tab:
    SNC Lib: c:\winnt\gsskrb5.dll
Mutual Authentication settings: p:SAPServiceBP0 at DOMAIN
In CMC, the role can be imported if "RFC activated" option unchecked in SNC0.
I found a few threads on the same topic, but they are all not answered:
    SNC Client side configuration error
SNC Configuration Error: Incomplete logon Data
Can you please provide details of the solution if you have impleted a same scenario successsfully, or any thoughts to help the investigation?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jonathan

    Hi Ingo,
Sorry for taking so long to reply, we are trying to set up server side trust and enable SSO; but we still couldn't success.
    What we did is:
    1. We followed installation guide chapter 6, generate certificate and PSE, etc. All looks good.
    2. Then we still have the "incomplete logon data" error when refreshing webi report after logon using Windows AD user ID.
    3. Then we trace the PFC connection, the log is as below. We checked several BO notes, e.g. 1500150, 1461247.. The part bothers us is that we even don't have URI displayed in the log when system trying to use SNC, and we couldn't get more info on this which make us very difficult to diagnosis.
Can you please help? Thanks a lot!

    Best regards,

There are more detailed logs for the various components. The one of interesting is the one for the engine or possibly the one for full-text.
These logs are extremely verbose, and the errors are rarely crystal clear, but at least give them a try. If you have problems, find a place to upload them (Dropbox, Skrydrive etc), so that we can look.
The closest at hand is that "group" that cannot be found is an AD group.

  • Error when run Process Chain via BPC NW

    Hi Gurus,
I am implementing SAP BPC 7.5 NW in a customer and I´m facing the following error when try to run a process chain via Data Manager: "Failed to analyze instruction ,TAB,%TAB% ".
Here is the scenario: we created a process chain that will be able to capture values recorded in a BPC application, load them into an DSO (make some transformations there) and finally send those transformed values to an specific table at ECC. This process will be started after some simulations at BPC and, when the user ends its simulation, start this process chain via BPC; this process chain is named as PC_ECC.
We made a  copy of /CPMB/DEFAULT_FORMULAS and named it PC_FORMULA and, before step /CPMB/CLEAR, I assigned my process chain PC_ECC.
So, at Data Manager, I add this process chain (PC_FORMULA) and in Advanced button, I put this statement:
    INFO(%EQU%,=)
    INFO(%TAB%,;)
    TASK(PC_FORMULA,TAB,%TAB%)
    TASK(PC_FORMULA,EQU,%EQU%)
    TASK(PC_FORMULA,SUSER,%USER%)
    TASK(PC_FORMULA,SAPPSET,%APPSET%)
    TASK(PC_FORMULA,SAPP,%APP%)
    //TASK(PC_FORMULA,LOGICFILENAME,DEFAULT.LGF)
    //TASK(PC_FORMULA,REPLACEPARAM,TESTE3%EQU%%TESTE3%%TAB%ASARENT%EQU%%ASARENT%%TAB%SOURCE%EQU%%SOURCE%%TAB%TARGET%EQU%%TARGET%)
As we do not have any script logic to be executed, we commented the two last statements.
When we run this package via DM, it gives us the message error:  "Failed to analyze instruction ,TAB,%TAB% "
Looking through SDN forum we found two posts similar to this issues:
But the suggestion to supress the statement TASK(PC_FORMULA,TAB,%TAB%) do not work; when we comment this statement, the message error gives us the message:"Failed to analyze instruction ,EQU,%EQU% "; when we comment the statement TASK(PC_FORMULA,EQU,%EQU%) and the previous (with TAB). the DM gives us the message: TASK(PC_FORMULA,SUSER,%SUSER%) and so on, until nothing has left to comment.
Anyone of you view or has some similar case of error?
Thanks in advance to you all
    Best Regards
    Adriano

    Hi Rich,
    Thanks for your answer.
I checked the parameter at my process chain and it has a variant (/CPMB/DEFAULT_FORMULAS_LOGIC) with the parameters:
    TAB
    SUSER
    SELECTION
    SAPPSET
    REPLACEPARAM
    MEMBERSELECTION
    LOGICFILENAME
    EQU
So, when I put in the task PC_FORMULA, TAB, %TAB%, it will be able to be recognized by the task...and the other parameters too. And when I take one of them off the task instructions, the system complains.
    Any other suggestion?
    Once again, thanks..a.nd best regards
    Adriano

  • Error when sending infotype 2 via ALE - start date

    Hi all,
we are facing the following error when using the standard method for HR distribution: changes in infotype 2 cannot be processed in the receiving system; each change results in a 51 error in the iDoc, with message "PA0002 could not be updatedu201D (msg number 5-108).
For some background: we're using message type HRMD_A06 and the standard configuration as described in the "ALE Quickstart" document. We've sent the full set of employee data via report RHALEINI, and use RBMDIDOC and change pointers to send changes on a daily basis. All infotypes are updated correctly except 2.
From our tests, it seems that the problem is the following:
    - the initial send via RHALEINI created infotype 2 records with start date 01.01.1900. The sent iDocs had at the level E1P1TYP for infotype 2, start date 01.01.1800
    - the daily report RBMDIDOC is sending the infotype 2 records with their real start date (i.e. birthdate of the employee). Since this is later than 01.01.1900, the replacement of one infotype by another in the receiving system fails. By manually changing the start date of infotype 2 in the receiving system, the next update is successful --but we do not want to manually update all records in the receiving system.
Has anyone else faced this or a similar issue with RHALEINI and infotype start dates?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mariana
Edited by: Mariana Lasprilla on Feb 5, 2009 10:35 AM

The mystery has been solved: customer system had a conversion rule for message type HRMD_A in order to send a fixed value of BEGDA for all infotype 2 records.
ALE conversion rules are set via table TBD30.

  • Error when creating Logical Port via WSDL on SOAMANAGER

    Hi,
When  creating Logical Port via WSDL on SOAMANAGER we're getting the following error:

We're consuming a WS provided by a .NET application.
Our system is ECC 6.0 NW 7.01SP 7.
Anyone have faced this error before?.

My certificate from Verisign is 128-bit with step-down to 40-bit
    for Export security browsers.

I had the same problem. In my case, Forms with SSO over SSL worked from the intranet, but not from the internet over the firewall. In the FW log, I found requests from my browser to the iAS at port 7778, on which runs the middle tier iAS, but that is blocked by the FW (we use WebCache at port 80 as a proxy).
Last time the ssoreg from the middle tier ran with -mod_osso_url http://<server_name>:7778, as indicated by the ssoreg.log. I reregistered the middle tier by means of ssoreg with -mod_osso_url http://<server_name>:80, restartet the http server from the middle tier, it corrected the error.
