Error When Copying HFM Application

I back up our HFM Application every week and everytime I perform the back up copy I get a message telling me it copied with errors. It seems to be something with my journal tables. Does anyone know how to correct this?

I have used the IFRS sample app that comes along with the hFM application and have tried to create the application via EPMA.
The application is created successfully .. But deployment fails.
On trial 1 it gave an error in the Jobstatus log : Error in UnregisterInstance(); along with the following in the EPMA log.

If the application deployment failed for any reason, subsequent deployments often have issues. I've had this error before and my resolution was to clean out the HFM tables. I deleted the application specific tables as well as removed ALL references to the HFM application from the HFM system tables. I also had to restart the EPMA services before attempting another deployment. In summary,
1. Drop the application specific tables
2. Delete reference to the application in the HFM system tables
3. Restart EPMA services
4. Deploy.

FM 10 - Serious Internal Error When Copying/Pasting

We regularly encounter a serious internal error when copying text from one FM doc to another. We also get the error (occasionally) when we run FrameScript. Does anyone know what could cause this? It appears to happen randomly (i.e. it doesn't appear to be tied to one particular .book or .fm file). We use FM 10, Windows 7, 64-bit OS, and have 4GB of RAM installed. Help please!

We have version 10.0.2.419. There is nothing out of the ordinary with the content except that it is typically in track text edits. We cannot reproduce the crash on demand. It seems to happen randomly and to some users more than others.

I tried to recover a backup I had made some days ago, and I got the following error when installing the application:

I looked in the .sql application and searched for the "&quot;" or even for the symbols &" and I found nothing. I checked the character set and it seems right, the application is in UNICODE-UTF8 and the database is in UTF8 as well. I'm working with APEX version 4.1.1 and apex listener 1.1.
Has anyone got this error before, or does anyone have a tip on where to investigate?

For those who have gotten this error as well..
The problem was in the buttons Expand /Collapse that I had in some trees. I had them with a redirect url pointing to a javascript code like this:
javascript.apex.widget.tree.expand_all('id');I changed these buttons, I set an action "Defined by a Dynamic Action". This DA is called when the button is clicked and executes this javascript code:
apex.widget.tree.expand_all('id');Now it works. Hope it can help someone.

Hi Sandeep
Standard R/3 does not allow backflush without any operation. You need to have an operation to do a backflush.Error message CR 085 is issued because there is no operation in the routing of the material backflushed. System should issue an error when no operations are found in routing. Although, error message CR 085 is not correct, more appropriate message RM 824 for this a program correction is requried check note (691161).

Error when copying an existing application (built on 4.0.1) in Apex 4.0.2

we're getting this error when we try to copy an existing application to a new one inside of Apex. The same error happens when we try to export and import the application.
Please note that the source application was created on Apex 4.0.1. Meanwhile Apex was patched to 4.0.2!

The reason could be because of an invalid target reference in the Dynamic action mentioned in the error message( in the API call at that line number ,use the p_name,p_page_id parameters to identify the Dynamic Action involved)

After upgrading to version 9.3.3, 11.1.1.3.50 or 11.1.2.1 this error could occur with the below scenario...
The cause was due to a program change in these upgrade version, with how logins work when accessing HFM via workspace. Any login to HFM that does not go through workspace, will inconsistently cause this error.
To resolve this issue in version 11.1.2.1, download and apply Patch 12865428.

Access is denied error when launching HFM based Financial Reports

When attempting to run Financial Reports where the data source is an HFM application, users sometimes get the following error(s):

Sometimes the error is more detailed:
1001:datasourcename=HOLX;errorMsg=Access is Denied. <BR>Access is denied. (The more detailed error is followed by references to POV members display names and member names, etc.)
The error is intermittent and cannot be easily reproduced. Sometimes users get it for hours at a time, other times they can log out and log back in and run the report fine. The users are running the reports via Workspace.
We are running the following versions, and Web Logic is our application server.
HFM Server: 9.3.1.3
Workspace: 9.3.1.0
Financial Reports: 9.3.1.0
I did increased the JVM heap size allocation on the Reports server from:
-Xms512m
-Xmx1024m
to
-Xms768m
-Xmx1280m
That setting change appears to have made the issue not appear as frequently, but it is still occurring. I may have bandwidth to increase the heap size limits to 1024 and 1536.
Any advice and / or help would be appreciated! The fact that I cannot easily reproduce the error and the lack of references to it in the application logs are making it very frustrating!

We had gotten this exact same error with some users getting it, some not getting it, and other users getting it sometimes.
We were told it happened when a certain number of users are in HFM reports at the same time.
To fix it you need to do the following on the HFM production servers (Foundation/Core Servers, Application Servers, and Web Servers)
Apply registry changes to prod servers:
On the server click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Rpc
Click the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type Server2003NegotiateDisable as the name of the new DWORD Value
Right-click Server2003NegotiateDisable, and then click Modify.
In the Value Data box, type 1, and then click OK.

How to troubleshoot SQL error when copying cube

I was successful in creating Info Package and running it to copy data frin cube 1 to cube2. However, I get an error when
Running the package. My source cube has 1.9 million rows. However, Info Package only loaded 30,120 records. Looking in monitor logs, it shows me following error stack:

My cube copying (from cube 1 to cube 2) is a straightforward procedure:
a.     Select Copy from Cube 1 and create Cube 2.
b.     Create Export Data Source from Cube 1 Menu.
c.     From Cube 2 menu, Create Update rules, In update rules select DataSource as 8Cube1.
d.     Create an Info Package for 8Cube1 under Infosource/DataSource and then run the package.
Certain no of records e.g.. 3248 or so get loaded and then the error messages are generated, why?
Really appreciate any help. I tried SM37, does not give any clue. I also Tried SM50, it shows me the process, but I still cannot figure how to generate developer trace.
Since behavior is same for several cubes I tried, something else also needs to be done, I do not know what???

I get a "vi is not executable" error when building an application.

I have an ongoing project that has worked fine in the past when building an application. I have recently added some report generation toolkit vis(Excel) and get an error for some of the ni vis and some of my own that call lower level excel vis. The error is that he vi is not executable, however they run fine in the development environment. I do not get this error if I save all vi's into one llb with save with options command and then build. However, when I try to run the app, this error re-appears. Also, do I have to add the dynamically loaded vi's that are part of the toolkit in my build script? Could this be the cause of the problem? If so, what's the best way to find all of them? Any suggestions?

You have hit in on the nail! You do need to add the dynamically loaded VIs when you are creating an executable from your VI. You need to add _wordsub.lib and _exclsub.lib as dynamically loaded VIs into your executable. Try this and let us know if you have any more problems with it.
