Error when starting a new project in Premier Elements 11

When I open Premier Elements 11 and select Video Editor - New Project, I keep getting an error that says, [..\..Src\Core\Preferences\cpp-338].  When I click on the Continue button, I get a Runtime Error and the application closes.  It doesn't stop running, though.  I have to stop it in the Task Manager Processes screen.
I have Windows XP SP3, and I have installed all the latest Windows updates, I have updated my Java version, I have defragmented my hard drive, I have run a disk clean up application, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times over with the DVD, and I have Quicktime installed with its latest updates.
I worked with an Adobe support tech yesterday who worked with my system a little, but he left me hanging and didn't call me back today.
I paid money for this application and desperately need it for my job.  I hope someone can help me.
Thanks,
A very frustrated customer.

For Networked home folders (aka Personal folder), here's a work around script that you are free to use.  (Based on AJohnF's suggestion.)
The Script verifies if the current domain user has an 'J' drive if not, it starts APE, if there is a home folder assigned to the domain user...
It temporarily changes the User Shell Personal folder registry.
Starts Adobe Premiere Elements and waits for it to close.
Once APE is closed it will change the registry back.
You can remove the ' in front of the msgbox lines to get prompts along the way for testing.
Create a new desktop shortcut that will point to the "Start Premiere 11.vbs" (or whatever you called it)
We deployed it via SCCM and replaced the existing desktop shortcut for APE with new shortcut. Deployment of script and desktop shortcut could be done via computer startup, preferences, SCCM it up to you.
Change the "J:\" and "J:\My Videos" to match your environment.

Maintain settlement rule for the object. It seems as per the settlement profile, settlement is mandatory.
Select object in CJ20N and press CTRL+F3...maintain the distribution rule.

  • Stackoverflow error when creating a new project

    Hi,
    When I tried to create a new project, I got a java.lang.StackOverflowError.
I did try to increase the heap size in odiparams.bat but didn't work:
    set ODI_INIT_HEAP=64m
    set ODI_MAX_HEAP=512m
I also tried both jre 1.4.2 and jdk1.5.0_06. Both got same error. I
m using windows XP Professional version, SP3.
    What could be the problem?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I am also facing the similar issue. I have carried out the steps as per your suggestion. I can now create a project but after ODI throwing the same error (or sometimes java.lang.reflect.invocationtargetexception).
One thing I have noticed is when I login as Supervisor, there is no issue. The other user created has CONNECT, DESIGNER and OPERATOR profiles.
    Am I missing out something?

  • 'serious error' when creating a new project in adobe premiere elements 10

    Hello,
I saw similar questions on the forums but not quite what is happening with me.
First off I should say i've never had this working however the copy of premiere elements 7 we had worked perfectly fine. I am a technician in a school and i'm trying to install the software for the students (we have lots of lisences). The software appears to install perfectly fine and the launcher works. I click to create a new project (or open an old one) premiere appears to load up correctly. It only crashes once I click to browse for a location to save the file.
The error message says, as i've noticed seems to be a generic message for any error on premiere: "Sorry, A serious error has occured that has caused Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project"
At first I thought this was student user rights (as students do not have access to C:\) however I have since tried it with my own admin account which has full rights and effectively should be able to do anything and it still continues to crash.
The stations I am working with are:
    Operating System
MS Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3
    CPU
    Intel Pentium E5200  @ 2.50GHz
    Wolfdale 45nm Technology
    RAM
    2.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 400MHz (6-6-6-18)
    Motherboard
    Intel Corporation DQ43AP (CPU1)
    Graphics
    PLE2008HDS (1600x900@60Hz)
    Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset
    Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset
    Hard Drives
    156GB SAMSUNG SAMSUNG HD161GJ (SATA)
Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide some insight on this matter

These previous discussions are not necessarily about PreElements, but they are about problems with trying to run on a network (which no flavor of Premiere is designed to do)

  • When starting a new project in elements 7 I can't change settings.

Even when I close an open project, the box pops up, and asks if I would like to save changes. It won't let me make a selection. I have to close the program through task manager. Any ideas? Up to date, and reinstalled twice.

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 7 running?
What is the Save In location that is designated in the New Project dialog? Is it the default area?
Try deleting the Premiere Elements 7 settings file named Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs, and, if that does not work, then delete the whole 7.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.
If you let us know your computer operating system, I will post directions for getting to the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and the 7.0 Folder in which it exists.
The answers will be in the details.
Looking forward to your follow up.
    Thank you.

  • "cannot allocate memory" When trying to start a new project in FCPX

So I am I getting the "cannot allocate memory" error whenever I try to start a new project in FCPX

"Movies" folder is on a drive with about 120 GB free. The folder is not locked. Imovie uses the same folder, and that works.
The account is not a server account.
I've removed all preferences and all references to FCPX, reinstalled, no difference.
I have tried every suggestion on every apple support discussion thread, save reinstalling the OS, which I will not do. Nothing works.
FCPX won't let me select a default location for projects, either.
This is the only application on my system that doesn't work. Anyone have any suggestions?

    I figured it out:
FCPX does not support NTFS drives, even with Paragon NTFS working perfectly for everything else on the system.
I guess Apple (just) assumes that nobody will, or should, be using any other filesystem than Mac with FCPX.
I wasted hours looking for a solution, when a better error message besides a misleading "cannot allocate memory" could have been something more useful.
    Not impressed.

So basically I am not able to do anything at all without it freezing. Everything else in the CS Production studio works just fine, Premiere is the only problem...so I am baffled! Oh yeah, I uninstalled and reinstalled twice, and still the same problem. PLEASE HELP!

You have 2 unreachable statements in this method.
    public static int eval(String s2, String op, String s3) {
    return lookup(s2);
    return lookup(op);
    return lookup(s3);

  • Cannot Start a new project with a mapped network drive

When I try to start a new project with Encore and save the file to our network cluster (An Isilon Server), I get a file not found error message. When I try to do this to a local drive, it works just fine. None of the other Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) have this problem with this network drive.
    Greg Glaser

Yes, it worked on the local drive, and also to a Windows Networked Server that was not the Isilon. Even after creating the project and moving it to the Isilon, it was generating error messages after a few minutes of use. The Isilon is using a BSD variant of Linux and Samba. The really strange part is the all other Adobe products from the Production Suite work with this server without any problems at all.

  • Unknown file error when try to save project

We are experiencing a problem with some of our Final Cut Pro edit suites. An editor opens, or starts a new, project and makes some changes. When they try to save the project they get an error - File Error: Unknown file.
This doesn't happen often, but it usually happens at the worst possible times.
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this?

I have the same problem. I get the following error when trying to save:
    operation not allowed
I'm usually aware of this when working along and then that pops up. It happens when autosave cannot save. When I try to manually save I get the same error message.
This has happened twice after working for a couple hours. If I wait, it still will not save. The only solution is to shut down FCP without saving, restart, and the restore from the last autosave before the problem. I usually use about 45 minutes to an hour's worth of work.
I have no idea what causes this.

  • Error when starting parser: timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL:'TfSAPCMRC'

    Hello experts.
When I try to preview or refresh a Crystal Report document built on a BEx query I get the following error msg:
Database connector error: BAPI Error #0. Error when starting parser: timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'TfSAPCMRCV'.
We have done as suggested in "SAP Note 1032461 - MDX parser does not start", but without success.
This is what we've tried so far:
replaced the file "librfc32.dll" (in C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64)  with the new version mentioned in Note 413708.
tested the connection in SM59 - non successful
tested the report query with transaction MDXTEST - non successful
tried to start the mdxparser manually on server - non succesful, error msg: "The application failed to initialise.."
    We have the following config:
    MS server 2003 SP2 x64 ed.
    SAP logon 7.20
    MS SQL server 2005
    CR 2008
    new librfc32.dll version 7200.1.39.6461
Any ideas on what to try next would be highly appreciated!
    Cheers, IngA

    Hi Ingo.
We have only one application server.
I registered the new version of the file C:\windows\SysWOW64\librfc32.dll with regsvr32.exe successfully. I've also tried to copy the new file to the same directory as the mdxsvr.exe-file is located, but it made no difference.
Should I remove all other copies of librfc32.dll and only keep the one in folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64, or maybe register them all with regsvr32.exe?
