Errors 9006 and 1671
I attempted to update my ipod ( to iOS 8.1.3 ) but now it's stuck on the 'connect to itunes' screen. I tried to restore it but it keeps giving me the errors 9006 and 1671. I can't update it or recover it. I tried; turning on and off my ipod, updating Itunes, turning off firewall, exiting and re-entering Itunes, shutting down my computer and restarting, and updating my windows. But it is still stuck on the same screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Check your USB connections
Related errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4005, 4013, 4014, or “invalid response."
If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you may be unable to update or restore.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use the USB cable that came with your device, or a different Apple USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port directly on your computer. Don't plug it into your keyboard.
Try a different computer.
If necessary, resolve any further issues with the USB connection, then with your security software.
If you're still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues by following the next section.

Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

I have an iPhone 5, yesterday it wasn't receiving any signal. I reset it and when it cam back on it said plug into iTunes, i did that but now it comes up with error 9006 and 39. What do i do, i have tried different wires, and different plug in holes, I've left it for the night and tired again this morning.
Error code 9006 is related to the computer's security software settings, 39 is not listed inResolve iOS update and restore errors try turning the security/anti-virus software off if you are using something like that. Then you may need to restore via the recovery mode since that is what the graphic of a USB wire connecting to iTunes means, it has already entered recovery mode...see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 for instructions on recovery mode restoring.

if you are trying to download and install ios7, it is probably because of the enormous amount of traffic apple's download servers must be experiencing. things should return to normal before too long, just hang tight

MikeIf you are using Windows and are having problems downloading videos > 2gig then check this out:
iTunes uses IE to download files.
IE6 has a 2 gig file size limit.
IE7 has a 4 gig limit. IE8 has no limit.
I found this info by searching Microsoft's site.
If you install IE8 as I did. This should fix your problem.

Can any one help me.
I'm having an continued issue with my phone/ipad 2 and updating it.
I've tried (unsuccessfully) 7 or 8 times to update my iphone 4s with the latest update (iOS 6.1.2) but it gets 30 minutes in to the update and then an error message comes up (error 9006) and it gives me no option but to click ok and it.
I've tried using different USB cables, different ports in my laptop, even uninstalling I Tunes and reinstalling and starting again - nothing seems to work.
I've contacted my network provider who's referred me to Apple but they are closed (I'll try again during business hours).
I'm updating it on my laptop using an internet dongle (as i dont have WIFI - All updates have been done like this and i've never had a problem before) and I have windows 7 software..
Is there anyone who's encountered the same issue?

Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or photos.apple.com is not blocked by a firewall, or other Internet security setting.

Error 8008 while transferring downloaded games from the iTunes Store Error 9006 and other applications where low, what do I do?-50 is a general communications error which I guess could take place anywhere alsong the line. I have references to it happening with FAT formatted drives, iDisk, user having two drives with identical names. Are you trying to download to an external drive? Whatever, I suggest you try to keep the system as simple as possible to try to narrow down possibilities. I don't know if anything at Apple's end (or the Internet's) would give the same error message.

Error 9006 - Update to iOS for iPad
I have been trying to update my iOS software to 4.2 for my iPad and keep getting the error 9006 and have to start the procedure all over again. Sometimes it gets to 200mb complete, sometimes just 20mb.
I have searched previous forums and cannot find any information to help. I am using Windows Vista with iTunes 10.1

Quick background. I live in CPT and my parents in DBN. I have an ipad and iphone 3Gs and have had NO problem with downloads. Its important to note though that I have the Telkom 4Meg DSL line that is called their 'fastest - 4096kbps'. My parents have the 'Faster' which is 512kbps -or middle of the road. My dad has been unable to get the updates AT ALL since he got his equipment. Anyway i tried for 2 solid weeks to do the updates on both iphone and ipad to no avail. Kept getting error 9006. We have since discovered that DSL line that they have at home is not operating to even a 1/4 of its supposed 'faster' marketing. In fact when my mother tried to upgrade they said she couldnt because they dont have capacity to do so...yet they still pay the price! Anyway, when I got back to CPT i updated both my dads ipad and iphone in 15 mins and with no error. Thats what made me think its a speed and line error for the area you live in. You need to check if the line is stable and fast enough to do the update. Check that here [if you are in SA] http://www.telkomsa.net/ and go to speed test. My download speed is 1.68Mb/s. So if you want the update, do it in a place that offers the fastest DSL, its a Telkom issue. Hope this helps -
Error 9006 when downloading rented movie
The subject basically says it all. I have been downloading movies from itunes for years but the last one I tried has been unsuccessful. The download is slower than normal and after 20-30 MB of the movie downloads, it stops, loses all progress and gives me an error 9006 and says to restart the download. I have messed with all my firewalls and configurations to allow for improved results but so far nothing has worked. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Message was edited by: erikd428I was having the same error 9006 trying to download a rented movie on iTunes. I read on another board it might have something to do with Internet Explorer 8 and iTunes using the same downloader. My Explorer 8 had recently quit working but I didn't care because I use Firefox. However, I then started getting the 9006 error on iTunes. On Windows 7 you have to go to the control panel. Click on "uninstall a program", in the uninstall window go to the left column and click on "Turn Window features on or off", this will open another window with the Windows features check marked. Uncheck Internet Explorer, then restart your computer. After it restarts, go back to the uninstall programs feature again and click "Turn Window features on or off", put a check mark next to Internet Explorer and restart the computer again. This fixed the problem with Internet Explorer and iTunes started the download without any errors popping up.

With your internet connected go to tools
-go all the way down to internet options
-click on the security tab-go to custom level
there will be a list there enable anything that has to do with downloading
-right below the list it says reset custom settings
-in the drop down menu change it to Medium-low
then click reset. When you are done click on apply, this might take a miute. When it is done. Click Ok

I tried to update my IPhone 4 last night thru ITunes and got and error when almose done 9006. It says in the nes that you have to do it thru wifi but do not have wifi and so I synced it with my computer and said I have the new update down now and selected yes and it startedto do it then stopped 3 times with error 9006? The iPhone 4S comes automatically loaded with iOS 5, and any updates after iOS 5.0 can be completed directly from on the phone in Settings > General > Software Update. If you are having trouble using iTunes to update software, I suggest you reset iTunes so that you can pair your phone to the computer again, because if you can't see the serial number and capacity, that generally means your phone isn't paired. For any problems this doesn't fix, please contact Apple directly through their automated help line, 1(800)MYAPPLE. -
