ESS Implementation error

Hi all,
I have deployed the ess BP and Pcui_gp using the SDM.
when i am trying to view this BP in my login i am not able to see the iview .i am getting the foll. error
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A

i have also defined a system 'SAP_WebDynpro_XSS'.
please guide me where i am going wrong.

As the error suggests, looks like your settings on the XSS system object are wrong. Check the host settings. Be careful to use to the fully qualified domain name too!

All other WD application is running like if we are creating travel in backend then
inside the trip and expanses ,all trips are coming means no problem in webdynpro
.this error i was getting when I was developing webdynpro java application and added anything in
backend and j2ee is not restarted and using this in frontend.
Is it a version mismach problem because if structure field is used in front end and missing in r3 then
this error may come.
If it is then what patch is required for SAP_HR and EA_HR in ECC5.

I am receiving a "501 Method Not Implemented" error message at a site in Firefox but not in Chrome or IE. How can this be cured?

ESS / MSS Error..

Hi All,
I have created all JCO destinations and when i test them , the result is successful
But once i click on ess/mss tab in portals, i get the error..
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.
But i have maintained SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData in the SLD.. Actually i have two SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData services one is active and another is inactive..
For SAP_R3_HumanResources -- i have used "Logon Ticket" and for SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData -- used userid & pwd.
Actually i have to do UserMapping as my portal userid and R/3 userid are different.. Then in this case am i creating JCO destinations correctly.. If not how to do..
Please throw some light into this problem by your valuable suggestions.

First of all you have not mentioned that which SAP version do you have?
SAP ESS in mySAPERP 2004 (WebDynpro Based) is completely different from SAP ESS in 4.6C and Enterprise versions(ITS Based).
So you have two different business packages available for both the above.
For ERP2004 you have to deploy the following sca file PCUI_GP05_1.sca
ESS05_1.sca
on you J2EE(Portal) Server. Then there are some customizing needs to be done. You can search for the same on help.sap.com and in this forum as well. Also refer note 824847.
For ESS Implementation in earlier version you can refer.

FUNCTION NOT IMPLEMENTED error when calling C# method from SAP, why?

Hi,
I've build a server stub in order to get SAP calling my own methods that exist in the C# world, for that I developed several methods in a class that extends SAPServer and then implemented them...
I added the special custom properties needed (Abap Name, length, etc) to the function and to its parameters, I've made the ABAP code required to call it...
I've checked, every parameters that I place in ABAP (importing, exporting and tables) are also defined in C# (its 53 parameters) with the same name (in C# they are in capital letters and in a diferent order but I tried this before and it didn't matter)...
The name of the function is the same...
How can I get the 'FUNCTION NOT IMPLEMENT' error in SAP?
What's going wrong when I get this error?
Can anyone tell me?
Is there any place in this site that has a error description and possible reasons?
When I get a parameter wrong I get a different error (I tried to make smaller functions and they work fine).

Hi,
I'll explain what I'm doing:
- we have a set of services made in a C and VB that are available using an API in C#, these services must be available to SAP. So I have a program that will see what parameters the API service requires and makes a proxy so that SAP can call these services.
To do this I must map SAP types with C#, build the function signature and then implement it. So I cannot use the wizard to do this
Now, back to the question, what kind of customer attributes I got wrong to get that exception? The most logic is the AbapName of the function but they are equal (the one called in SAP and the one in the customer attributes of the function)...

I am actually working on(kicking around the idea) of writing a ESS guide for mySAP ERP (which would cover 4.6c as well since ITS is still used).

501 not implemented errors

Hi,
In our portal some users are getting 501 not implemented errors in some front pages.After refreshing everything works fine.Any body have any idea?How this can be solved?

Error 501/505: Not implemented or not supported.
Translation:
This error may occur when using Internet Explorer in Windows XP to view a Web page. This error can be caused by either having the HTTP 1.1 setting enabled or by an interference with Internet Explorer by a third-party product. Since there are some Web sites that still use HTTP 1.0, connection issues can arise if you have HTTP 1.1 enabled.
Solution:
The easiest fix for this error can be found if HTTP 1.1 is enabled. To fix the problem, simply disable HTTP 1.1. You can do this by clicking Tools in Internet Explorer and going to the Internet Options menu. Go to the Advanced tab and uncheck the box next to Use HTTP 1.1. Click OK and test to see if the issue is resolved. If you have resolved the issue, do not proceed with the following steps. If the error still remains, go back to the Tools menu in Internet Explorer and select Internet Options. Next, click the Advanced tab and check the box next to u201CShow friendly HTTP error messagesu201D and click OK. The next time this error occurs, a more detailed error message should appear to tell you which program is interfering with the proper display of the Web page. Intermittent 501 Not Implemented Errors

Just wanted to ask if anyone else had come across intermittent Error 501 -- Not Implemented Errors while using PeopleTools 8.51? We are using PeopleTools 8.51.02 and have come across this a few times in both campus solutions and financials (same tools versions).
Any ideas or suggestions on what might be causing it? Signs tend to suggest and AJAX related problem.

ESS - CL_PT_ARQ_BLOP_ADAPTER error

Hi Gurus,
I am facing problem when sending leave in ESS, the error is as follows:
Exception/error 262144 triggered in method MAINTAIN_TIMEDATA, class CL_PT_ARQ_BLOP_ADAPTER.
This is happening in only one user not everyone. What could be the reason for this?

What is the error in ST22...
You must have deleted some of the subtypes of Infotype 0105 while configuring in R/3. Just check the error in ST22. Pls keep all the subtypes that are already provided by SAP and do not delete any of them.

If one clicks on MMS it opens fine, but when you go to the tab REPORTS it gives the same error as the CAREER AND JOB ERRORS in ESS.

WD Java ESS OTF error

We are on ECC 6 EhP4, NW 7.0 SP20, ESS 1.41
When implementing ESS 1.41, we made a Z copy of hr_conf_form and changed the verbiage to our company.
Now when we open the Print Confirmation Form button in the portal an error is returned: com.sap.pcuigp.xssfpm.java.FPMRuntimeException: OTF end command // missing in OTF data
After reviewing all SDN posts on OTF error cannot find a solution for this problem.
The SAP delivered hr_conf_form allows the 'Print Form' function to work but the Z copy returns the error.
Any ideas?

ESS Leave error: Use Input Help to select an Approver

Hi,
We are using ERP2005, ESS.
In the leave application, few employees are getting error "Use the input help to select an approver".
For all these employees following observation were made,
1. their Manager was recently changed.
2. this is the first leave request they are raising after the change of manager
3. DB Table HRESSAPPROVER has the name of the old manager as approver.
Please pour in your inputs.

The warning or error message you see only occurs
when the Leave request application is unable to determine the
Next agent (Approver), In the standard you have defined
Line manager the system should pick this without,But I am not
sure what modification you are using.
Are you using the customised workflow?
In PTARQ >> Determine Approver, does the system
gets the right approver for this pernr?
in the customizing for the definition of the processes per rule group
you set the selection for the next processor to "Manual Entry" or
Line manager? Please can you verify this.
Check if the organisational assigmenet is done for the employee.
Another way is to use the BAdI Control Processing Processes for Time
Management Web Applications (PT_GEN_REQ) and implement the methode
IF_EX_PT_GEN_REQ~FIND_RESP_AND_DEFAULT_NEXT_PRC.
Method FIND_RESP_AND_DEFAULT_NEXT_PRC of badi
PT_GET_REQ might be utilised here.
Please have a look at the method
CL_PT_REQ_SEARCH_NEXT_P~SEARCH_NEXT_PROCESSOR.
If you are implementing the badi then make sure you copy all the methods
and implement the one, as mentioned.
