ESS Training Event and management

Hi,
I have deployed ESS.
I don't find Training Tab on our ESS screen and i found that the tab is attached separately .
Can anyone explain in details about this...!

Hi Vijay,
I think, "training" might be a role that you have assigned to the user.
But if you want to have a look at the content that has been deployed along with the ESS.
Go to Content Admin-> Portal Content-> Content Provided by SAP-> End User Content-> ESS and look for the worksets.
If Training and Event management shows up there, which according to me would not exist.
Consider rewarding points if handy!

    There is no training event iview in WD JAVA or ABAP in new releases, it might be old ITS based ones
    although you have something called Learning Solution which replaces this, This can be implemented thru Business package

    I have a couple of doubts hope you all can help.
    Consider I have a web address through which I can access my ESS. How do I know which SAP Server it access for the details it needs?
    And in Learning solutions when viewed through ESS has a list of " top 10 SAP Course" to the left hand side there is a BADI " TRAININGTYPE_ADV_C " to customize this. Is there anyother way I can do it???
    Because I have implemented the badi but its not getting triggered...

    Yes, Training & Event management and Appraisal are available in ITS based ESS business package.
    But latest ESS business package(webdynpro based) do not have training and event management. You may need to deploy Learning solution. Full functionality of Appraisal is available with ehp4 of ESS BP.

    If you are on ECC 5.0/6.0, then you still use the ITS based services PV7i and PV8i.....which are older ones.
    Tie up these services in homepage framework page and use it.
    Else, try to explore the LSO component available with your ECC 5.0/6.0. Check System component versions (System -> Statuses -> available components).
    Available service is based on BSP technology which is nothing a pre-packaged application (HCM_LEARNING). You can see this from your object browser - se80.
    HCM_LEARNING is far better service with more avanced features.

    In the new version of ESS the Training and Event management is part of Learning Solution. Its now a different component.
    having said that the old functionality is still available.
    It the scope of the project is not to implement LSO ( Learning Portal)
    Pls ask your portal consultant to create IAC iveiw.
    for you pls go to tcode, SICF > f8 > default_host > sap > bc > gui and find PV0I and many more will be there.
    You need to activate and provide the list of services to Portal admin to add that into ESS main Role.

  • Attendance Requested Status in Training & Event Management

    Hi Friends,
    In Training & Event Management, the  User goes to the u201CTraining Centeru201D in ESS to submit his nomination for a Business Event to the Immediate Superior. (Path : ESS, Training Center, Booking Offer, Add to Basket, To Basket, Proceed to Request, Request Attendance).
    Now for that User, the Status comes as u201CAttendance Requestedu201D  for that Business Event & a Workflow is triggered to his Immediate Superior for Approval.
    When the User refreshes the screen or logs in the ESS again the Status u201CAttendance Requestedu201D for that Business Event vanishes although the Immediate Superior has not approved his Attendance Request.
    It is desired that the Status u201CAttendance Requestedu201D should be displayed in the Users  u201CMy Bookingsu201D  till the Immediate Superior approves it.
    Also it is desired to have a report of how many such  u201CAttendance Requestedu201D nominations are pending for a specific Business Event.
    Pls advise.

    1.  define factory calendar in the tcode SCAL and the same thing you have to assign in the img-training and event management-business event preparation-location-create location- there you have to assign factory calendar.
    2. if you want training schedule you have to go img-training and event management-business event preparation-define time schedule if you enteer into that you should in the first coloumn any number for ex 01 3 day schedule and you have to select this and click on day segment in day segment give normal again select normal and click day schedule there you should give start and end times of the schedules for morning,afternoon and evening and this time schedule you will assign to the business event type which comes under business event preparation

    Hi all,
    We have implemented Training & Events Management & ESS.  The employees can book their attendance through ESS.  Now the user wants that the Training Calender should be viewable according to Employee subgroup.
    Eg : Employee A belongs to Top Management employee group then he should be able to view all training programme and if Employee B belongs to General staff employee then he should be able to view only training programmes related to him.
    Where can we configre this in T & E Mgt. that this Training programme is valid for this Employee subgroup.

    In the ESS, all the Employees in the Organisation are able to view all the list of Training Programs that are going to occur.In standard SAP there is no provision in SPRO to restrict the user to view the Training programs based on ESG.
    The display of the Training Programs in ESS as per ESG cannot be controlled.
    However we can restrict the Booking & Pre-booking of the Business Event & Business Event Types by making custom tables specifying which ESG are eligible for which Business Event & Business Event Types.
    These Custom Tables will be referred before the execution of Booking/Pre-booking Badii.

  • Managing Events and/or Projects With Disk Images

    I came across this method of managing Events and Projects a while ago. I finally got around to giving it a try. Personally, I really like this method.
    It's simple.
    It keeps things very well organized.
    It's easy to open only the project or events that you want.
    It's easy to consolidate and back up once you're done.
    It  takes some workload off FCP X by not having to always open up all your Events and Projects.
    So, I thought I would share this for those of you who were not already aware of it.
    This is my workflow: (based on the link below)
    I create a Disk Image (named for the Event/Project).
    (Note: There are two places to create the name, I use both, keep them the same)
    I open up FCP X.
    I typically put only one Event on this Disk Image.
    I then reference whatever Media I need in this Event.
    I usually don't bother to copy the media. (except when I'm done and I archive it)
    You can create multiple Events, if you feel the need for additional organization.
    Then I create however many Projects I need.
    (since Projects equates to Sequences from prior FCP versions)
    I have a unique Disk Image for each Event/Project that I work on.
    To use them ...
    First, always make sure FCP X is not running.
    Locate the Disk Image in finder.
    Double click on the Disk Image and it will Mount on your desktop.
    (assuming it's not already mounted on your desktop)
    Open up FCP X and it will load the Event(s)/Project(s) in the Disk Image.
    If you don't want to work on an Event/Project in FCP X (make sure FCP X is not open), in Finder, simply Eject the Disk Image.
    Now when you open FCP X, it won't be there.
    Its not gone, but since it's not mounted on the desktop, FCP X simply doesn't see it.
    To get it back (obviously quit FCP X first) simply double click the Disk Image in Finder and it remounts.
    Open FCP X and you can see it's back.
    You can open (double click to mount) as many Event/Project Disk Images as you want.
    Just make sure you mount and un-mount disk images when FCP X is not running.
    If find this to be a great workflow.

    Re the final commercial spot.  What I am getting at is if all my media is optimized and therefore in ProRes, and I export in ProRes using the current settings, then shouldn't the media needed to rebuild the project be the same or close to what an exported Quicktime would have been?
    Perhaps the notion of "used clips only" is not what it says then.  I took that to be the "media managed" feature otherwise why is that wording there.  I guess "used" actually refers to all of the media for the project and associated events rather than just for the project.  This is misleading because the DUPLICATE operation and menu prompt only appears as a result of requesting an action on the project item.
    There are aliases in my original event folder, but before I started this process tried to get FCPX to consolidate media for the project and it already was according the app.  Truth is, some of the media is outside of the FCPX required folders.  So it's strange that it says it's consolditated, but it's not and yet in duplicating the project it moves the references to the new volume only to point back to the old volume.
    So my next question would be: Is there no feature to back up only what's needed to rebuild the final project (edit) reliably.  Moving the project moves everything.  According to the FCP manual, it seems using the Duplicate feature is the way I should be archiving.  However if by "used clips only" FCP X means all media and refrerenced events, then I guess there's nothing for me in here.  However then, whey would there be an option (after choosing duplicate project) an option to Duplicate Project and  referenced events.  If "used clips only" means all media, then there's no difference between the 2nd and 3rd Duplicate Project options.

    Dear MHP,
                     there are lots of things you can do as an end user in TEM.   You could create new events (not events types), book peoples, fix the date of the event, then create califications of the event (about the event or about the atendee).  Please, read sap help issues:  (in Training and Event Management)  day-to-day activities, Recurring Activities and Reporting.

    We have requirement where we want to show Profile Match up and Training Event details in MSS.But we are not going to use LSO.
    so now que is without LSO there ivew will work or not. Now this iview are present in MSS folder.Is this iview are using LSO function module because of that they might not work?

    To make it more clear.... sorry for not explaining this initially.
    1. There is a service in ESS(ITS) for profile match up.
    2. For mss siddharth is asking from where does the data come in case of pv7i and 8i
    So the answer for MSS is that if you need to use profile match up without LSO then you make use of the ITS based profile matchup service to identify how you will carry out a development.
    I am not aware of any existing transaction for profie in MSS so you need to develop but the answer to your question is
    "you can certainly use TEM (without LSO) to create profile match up in MSS".
    This has been done for most of the customers by SAP as not everyone uses LSO.
    Function RHPP_SHOW_PROFILE_MATCHUP will help you achieve this very easily without LSO.

What is the meaning of Internal activity allocation & Cost transfer posting? What is the purpose of this integration & how it is reflected in FICO? What benefit a client gets when it is integrated? Who is the sender cost center & who is the receiving cost center and where it is maintained in TEM?

    This process comprises all of the functions for settling fees in Training and Event Management, as well as the functions for recording costs and cost transfer posting. In addition, this describes all other functions that are in any way connected with fee processing in Training and Event Management. This includes the following functions:
    Billing, which involves creating invoices and credit memos for attendance and cancellation fees
    Internal Activity Allocation, which involves settling attendance and cancellation fees and instructor costs
    Cost Transfer Posting, which involves transfer posting of event costs in which the cost center of the resource is credited and the cost center of the organizer is debited
    Price Proposal, which involves calculating a price proposal on the basis of the cost items stored for a business event. The proposed price can be adopted as the event price.

    Hi,
    One time customer itself means that there is no regular transactions with this customer, so that is why a generic account is created for such customer and the transaction for various one time customers posted with such generic account.
    The credit check is not relevant to the one time customer.
