ESS: "WDDynamicRFCExecuteException" received when previewign Address iView.

Hi
We are starting to configure ESS portals on EP 7.0 to connect to ECC 6.0 system. While trying to check the connectivity from Portal to R/3 - SSO works fine.
However, the Address iView when displayed gives the following error;
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:

Here is the ST22 dump of the error on the ABAP system.
u201CRuntime Errors         OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO
Exception              CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL
Date and Time          11/10/2008 15:32:46
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was not
      caught in
procedure "HRXSS_PER_CLEANUP" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING
      clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing')
     access a component.
An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
before it can be used to access components.
Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the
     CLEAR statement.
How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
     keywords:
"OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO" "CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL"
     "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC" or "LHRXSS_PER_MACU04"
     "HRXSS_PER_CLEANUP"   u201D
Has anyone else faced this error? Can you please suggest me a solution?
Thanks,
Raza.

Hi Guys -
I found the resoution to this problem myself..
We had our ERP5COM @ SP 14 while all the other components ERP5ESS, ERP5MSS, etc were at a lower level ie SP 13.
So, by downgrading the above component we could Preview the iViews.
I am closing this post.
Thanks,
Raza.

  • EP Portal "Page Error" when saving address under empployee services

    Hello All,
We do have enterprise portal for different countries with different role for each country.
under "Employeeservices ap" role we have different countries like aus , malaysia etc
when australian employee want to update his address under "Employeeservices ap" role "page error" coming when clicked on save button.
under the same role , same tab we have diff iviews , but the pagerror coming only when updating address iview.
under the same role malaysia employee could update the address in the same iview.
Dont know why it is happening with only one i view and with only one country.
    Please share your ideas.
    Thanks in advance

iam HR functional consultant , dont much about EP technical side.
    Ah, sorry, couldn't know that
    I'll explain more detailed:
    1. Checking the several Netweaver JAVA Stacks of your components in portal should be the first step. You can do this by going to "http://<host>:<port>/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo" on your Portal Server and taking a look at the Netweaver Stacks, they will usuall Start with "7.XX' SP XX". The components should all have the same stacklevel excluding Business Packages, XSS Java Components and Connectors. If you are unsure what do to, you should ask your portal guys to update the stacks.
    2. Check whether Business Packages Match with the XSS Java Components and whether the XSS Java Components match with the corresponding Stacks in Your Backend. You can do this using the maintenance optimizer and/or using this wiki which gives a nice overview explanation: https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/HOWTOGETRIDOFSPSTACKMISMATCHISSUES
    3. Check whether there are any Browser Compatibility Issues (very unlikely..) at https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/pam.
    4. Post the entire log for the error you get. Do this by reproducing the error, then go to "http://<host>:<port>/nwa". From there navigate to "Monitoring", "Protocols and Traces". Select "Default Trace", search for your error, go into detailed View and copy the entire LOG to post it here.
I hope this is helpful for you now , if you have questions regarding any of that, don't hesitate asking (but please be specific).
    regards, Lukas

Please let me know what settings are required to get the proper iView.

    Hi Kaustav,
Go to the portal->content administration->webdynpro and see in the left pane where all the deployed applictions will get displayed. You can chekc the same thru SDM also.
For deployment, you can download the .SCA file from the service market place and deploy it thru SDM.

  • ESS US ADDRESS IVIEW NOT SHOWING ALL OVERVIEW FIELDS

    NW2004s , EP 7 , MYSAPERP 5.0, ECC 6.0
ESS ADDRESS IVIEW - ( UNDER PERSONNEL INFORMATION ) -
The IView is not showing up few key fields in the Overview Part
for instance - Name, C/O , State , Zip code fields are missing from the overview part, but when i go to Edit part these field show up ( having data in them ).
The personalization option shows NO UI Element listed ( in the Overview - Transparent container ) in both Displayed and Hidden Column ( Yet few fields are showing up  - Street Address , Telephone without area code )
I deleted all the personalizations from the iview and the corressponding page ( By reseting it - as advised by a fellow SDN'er ) , but it didn't fixed the issue.
Backend is correctly configured and webdynpro code has the fields listed as well.
There isn't any SAP Note on this, as well.

what SP level ar eyou on. If you are not on EHP2 or EHP3 ( that is ESS 1.3), the fields on the overview overview are hard coded ( UI elements generated on runtime not during design time) and hence you will not be able to use personalization. You will have to add fields in wdDoModify method of the overview screen.
I remember replying with a code of how to do this. Probably you may find it with a search on ESS forum

  • Critical Error in ESS Addresses iView

Getting the following error message when running the Address iView for employees
Read of object with ID portal_content/com.sap.pct/srvconfig/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.uk/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.addr/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.fpmapplications/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.per_address_gb failed.

    Ashutosh is correct,
This location in your PCD portal_content/com.sap.pct/srvconfig requires additional permissions to be set.
Depending on how you want to go about this - you could start by assigning the Authenticated Users group to this directory.  Dont forget to reset all the child permissions to force the permissions down the tree.

    Hello,
The error seems to look like a Permissions issue. Have you checked the Permissions assigned to the iView in the Permissions editor?

I would greatly appreciate if someone answer this threat. I am having this big problem with the address iview. It is not possible to change the postal code in the address iview.

Can you explain the issue? Means for which country this issue is coming. We faced similar issue. There is some bug in ESS/MSS package itself. You send me details of issue at [email protected] I will reply you back with OSS message answered by SAP if that is a bug.

    Hello all
I am having problem with the address iview of ESS. The telephone no field is not being displayed in the edit mode of the iview i.e only the area code is being diaplyed and the rest of the no and the label is not there. From the previous thread I learnt that it might be because of some IMG customization but dont know how to solve it.
I will greatly appreciate if anyone can take some time to tell me how to fix this.

  • ESS Address iView issue

    Hello all,
I am facing problem with the address iview (for US country) of ESS. The telephone no. field is being displayed in the edit mode of the iview also the communication with 2 options. But in overview I am not able to see phone no. though value is present. I can see only Area code...
    for e.g. Expected: Telephone no. <area code> <phone no.>
Current situation:  Telephone no. <area code> blank
Same thing happens with Communication field. I can see F4 help, but not able to see Telephone no. fields at all in overview, whereas in Edit mode they are present.
Saw some posts suggesting some doc for resolving this. /thread/302943 [original link is broken] , /thread/393598 [original link is broken]
    Personal information removed
I will greatly appreciate if anyone can take some time to tell me how to fix this.
    We are on EP7 EHP1 SP3 and ESS 603 SP7
    Thank you,
    Amol.

Looks like ur trying to show the details on the overview.
Try the above options, looks like in newer releases they are configurable but in older releases we need to change the Web Dynpro java code.
In the BizCardsView, you have to modify the wdDoModifyView
and add the fields that has to be shown in the Overview to the fieldInfo array.
Note: If you modify the standard sap delivered code, at SP upgrade the changes would be over written, so u would have to do it again. If its mandatory better to create a new custom DC.

Lately, after the installation of MacOSX 10.4.10 on her G4 PowerBook, a family member has been receiving letters in Apple Mail not addressed to her. Had they arrived by mail, they should have been moved to her Junk Folder by her junk filter.
At first this alarmed me greatly (well, it still does): I removed her computer from the internet & performed examinations for break-ins; for I believed these letters were not mailed, but inserted into her inbox. Because she doesn't believe in security, I was limited to examining logs, and scanning her computer in firewire target disk mode. Both MacScan and ClamXav revealed nothing.
Puzzle 1: About a month ago, there appeared a finder image (happy blue face) at the bottom of her desktop (which is a unique grey-green designed by me). This disappeared in a day or two, at 5:00p on the dot, suggesting an application was involved. When I checked the logs at the exact date & time of desktop photo switches, there was an hiatus (which could have been natural).
Puzzle 2: Today she again received a letter not addressed to her, but to '[email protected]'. (I sent a letter from a mail alias to this address, but it did not appear in her mailbox.) The letter, by the way, was a phish from Germany, so I reported it immediately to Spam Cop. An addendum to this question contains the header of this letter, with the real person's name replaced by [email protected]. (Nothing here need be removed by a moderator.)
Has anyone an explanation for either of these puzzles? I think they're both important. (Before the internet was released upon the public, Postmasters would read the recipient and subject lines of dead letters, then forward them to whoever they thought it was for. 'Krystal2' has no relation to 'correctname', so that's unlikely.) Also, my wife has allowed me to secure her computer better, and no problems similar to 1 or 2 has ever appeared. Thanks very much for any ideas!

    David,
Sorry, migraine over the holidays. Thank you: you're right! The reason I don't get any like this is because the SPAM must apparently use RFC822. This protocol appears deprecated. It appears stamped on some mail initially sent by Apple, but not others.
Thank you very much, for these have been concerning me. I'm used to seeing my name stamped by each relaying computer. A test letter I sent from my local ISP with a BCC to myself at a school across the country stamped my name at each step.
Your first sentence is slightly ambiguous. In my opinion, any problem whose only explanation at the moment is a security breach is then a security problem, and should be treated immediately as such. The Finder's image is still one.
    Thanks again.

  • Station is not receiving an IP address from DHCP

    Hello guys,
I have an ASA 5505 functioning as a router to connect to the Internet. Also, it is my DHCP server for my clients, and APs. When I connect my laptop to the ASA, I get an IP address and able to configure my WLC. The APs also receives an IP address from the ASA. However, when I connect to the AP wirelessly as a wireless client, my laptop is not receiving an IP address from the DHCP which is my ASA.
    Here is my topology:
    [3602i]--------[ASA5505]--------[WLC2504]
Here is my ASA config for my clients:

    Hello jsnyder81,
I have another question. This is still related to the same network.
I am able to connect to the wireless network now, and receiving IP address from the ASA 5505; however, I can only ping my wireless gateway. I also don't have access to the Internet.
When I hard wired my laptop to the ASA's switch port, I am able to browse the Internet, but not via WiFi.
Here is the routing table that I have on the ASA:

    Hi Sandeep,
Thanks for the reply, Yes I checked with my HR Consultant, and even i saw it in PA30 for Infotype006(Address) there is no Subtype 5 in the System. I asked him, he said we are not maintaining subtype 0005.
These are the presented Subtypes for IT006 in my ECC System
    SubType  -
    Name
    1                           Permenant Address
    2                           Address for Correspondance
    3                           Emergency Contact Address-1
    4                           Emergency Contact Address-2
If i type 0005 in subtype filed its giving InValid Subtype.   Even Some Subtypes(1,2,3,4) are maintaing for IT006(Address) but why its giving error for Subtype 0005.
Can u give better input on this!!!
    Thanks in Advance

  • Airport extreme not receiving an ip address

Hey i was wondering if anyone knew why my airport extreme is not receiving an ip address. Im connected to the internet through a cable modem connected to a airport extreme. I know the internet works because when i connect directly to my macpro book the internet works fine.......its just when i try to use my wireless network. Also its not my wireless card in my laptop because it works fine with other wireless networks. The other thing is i know my airport extreme works because it will connect for a while and then it wont connect at all until i reset everything (modem, computer, airport).....any suggestions?
I called apple support and they said it was a comcast problem and comcast said it was a problem with my airport extreme......figures huh?

    FIXED!
Ok, after getting the usual run around with apple not being able to advise me about my ISP and my ISP not being able to advise me about apple some wonderful support person at my ISP let a bit of info slip: Comcast have decomissioned a load of bad DNS servers today.
If you use Comcast and cannot connect via wireless try this:
    Open applications/utilities/airport admin utility
    select your base station
    click configure
    click internet
whatever is typed into the dns servers input boxes, delete it
    update your base station
and you are connected to the internet.
It makes perfect sense if you have this problem. You base station has been trying to connect to the WAN using a decomissioned dns server. All Comcast dns servers are now distributed dynamically via the dhcp server.
I am working again! Hope you are too.
I tried it, and was able to connect to my mini-mac for the first time. Phew! Now, I'm going to try the printer and my powerbook. I hope my tinkering with those does not tamper with the delicate balance of the universe.
