Every time I sync my iPhone with iTunes, it deletes the library and copies of the iPhone all over again, and I'm syncing at the same mac ever.

Have you ever had all 7 of them synced before? Are these ringtones you made yourself? Is there a chance they could exceed 30 seconds in length? Is there a chance you have moved the original file location on the computer? May need the answers to a couple more questions to try and determine an answer.

You can't gift it, gifting can only be done from within the store, not from within your library.

However, the most likely reason is your self-repair of a device that is only factory repairable broke something. Note that Apple does not sell replacement parts, so whatever parts you used were not made by Apple's supplier and are of questionable quality.

I chose to restore it to factory defaults, but that never succeeded.

I have tried both options .. back up on this computer and also back up on icloud.
The backingup is fine .. there is no problem .. even synchronizing songs , applications , calender , mail accounts is fine .. only the contacs are not synchronizing. I don't believe mounting the hard drive should be necessary, unless you have several external drives and want your computer to recognise them as folders, rather than drives. I've never had to mount a hard drive, ever. If you don't know how to do it, then it shouldn't be necessary now.
Try this:
Prepare iTunes so that it can see the external drive.
Make a note of which drive-letter the external drive has been allocated. (Look in Windows Exploer)
Look at the file location for a song. Make sure it plays (and therefore that iTunes has found it). Highlight it and select File/Get Info/Summary>Where: and make a note of the drive letter for that song.
Close and shut down the computer.
The next time you turn the computer on again, connect the external drive
Before you start iTunes - check the external drive in Windows Explorer. Is it ready, does it have the same drive-letter that it had last time? Can you go into the drive and see the files on it?
Once you can, start iTunes. (If the drive lettter has changed, you need to work out why before going any further.)
If iTunes fails to find your external drive, you need to check where iTunes is looking for your Library.
Select the same song you checked before (presumably iTunes can no longer find it). Follow the procedure for locating it. You should be able to see where iTunes thinks the file is. It's the drive that counts. Which drive letter is iTunes looking at? Is it the same one that it was previously (which should also be the same one that the drive has now).

Following up: tried multiple restarts but ended up needing to remove partition an reinstall windows 7. Now if I could only find that Mac disk to install boot camp.........

Ipod classic unregisters from mac every time i try to restore with itunes

i have a 7th generations 120 g ipod. every time i try to restore it, you hear an audible click as it unregisters itself from my computer. And it will keep appearing and disappearing in that manner until i physically remove it from my computer. even when i hit eject, it just re registers itself then a few seconds later it un registers itself again. i have tried everything i have read from this forum. i have erased it's contents, i have put in in disk mode, I have put it in recovery mood holding buttons for 12 seconds. nothing works. as soon as its almost done restoring it un registers itself and i am unable to restore it. and the computer keeps telling me its corrupt after i've erased it with disk utility. please help. i have also gone into the configuration and looked at the stats. i don't see anything thats says there is anything wrong with the hard drive.

New iphone - needs to be restored, Itunes downloads the software, then doesn't install it and tries to restore it all over again

So I have a new iphone. It was working fine, I had loaded my old iphone's last backup onto it.
Then it tried to update the software to the new IOS.
Now its stuck in restore mode, itunes downloads the 800mb update, then does nothing with it and wants to start the restore from the beginning.
I've downloaded latest itunes, updated my computer, restarted it, all those things suggested - but it still does it. I don't have another computer I can try it with...

Ipod4 syncs music incorrectly with itunes after ios5 update. Playlists list some songs which are greyed out and wont play. Suspect they werent downloaded as Ipod now holds 16 000 songs. Previous max was 9000 songs.

I upgraded to IOS5. Now have synching problems using the USB Cable . I tried everything. Resent the Synch history in ITunes. Unticked all playlists and synched to clear all music etc of the iPod. You can't. The only way to get songs in the Music app is to sync from a computer or to download from iTunes.
