Everything looks fine, but can't browse internet (BEFW11S4)

My BEFW11S4 v4 won't connect to internet anymore.
Firmware is updated (v4 1.52.03).
Tried to turn off/on both modem and router.
I did a hard reset by pressing the reset button on the back of the router.
The only setting I changed after the reset was Internet Setup. Set connection to PPPOe, entered my username and password, saved.
In Status>Router page, Login status goes 'connected' after a few seconds. Internet IP Address changes from 0.0.0.0 to 200.132.....
In Status>Local Network>DHC Client Table I can see my machine is there. I can connect to the router either by Ethernet or wireless.
But I cannot visit any website. The browser always says 'server not found'.
If I plug may Macbook directly to the modem and configure a PPPOe connection (using same ID/password), then I it works fine.
Any tips would be appreciated. Could this be a hardware problem and I'd better replace my router? It's about 8 years old now...

I changed MTU from 'disabled' to 'enabled' then set its size to 1400. Nothing changed.
Then I tried to ping the IP address (I'm on a Mac, the procedure is different but I believe the result is the same) and that was the result (IP address partially replaced by 'XXX' in this message).:

I understand this is the expected answer: no packet loss.
I did not try disabling Proxy Settings on Internet Explorer, because I do not use IE (all settings were done with Firefox 7 Mac).
Then I borrowed another router from a friend – a Linksys WRT54GS – and it worked fine!
Is there any other settings I should try?

In this cases everything looks fine, but no ring tone is there and after sometimes the phone informs me that no connection can be estabilished (its a German phone, therefore I am not sure about the message in English systems). A workaround is to stop the telephone app in the multitasking bar (double click on home button, hold the app symbol pressed for some seconds, close app). Next several call work after this.
I am not sure if an incomming call would work in this mode...

Are you sure about your FTP credentials (FTP folder and site URL) that you are using for the upload? Are you able to see the updated files in the remote directory of the FTP server, after you finish uploading the muse file, using an external FTP client like FileZilla?

Range Expander Looks Fine - but cant connect to Internet.

I connect to the range extender & things look fine, but I can't get onto the Internet.

What's the model number of the Range Extender as well as the model number of the Router? The Linksys Wireless Range Extender and wireless router or access point’s wireless settings should match in order for them to work properly. You must first identify the following wireless settings of your router:
• Wireless Network Name (SSID)
• Wireless Channel
• Wireless Security Mode (WPA/WPA2 Personal or WEP)
• Network Key or Passphrase

[solved] Audio: Everything looks fine but I don't hear a sound

I installed my first Arch Linux a little while ago, and I don't manage to get the sound working. Everything looks fine in the debug output to me, Master and PCM are not muted and the volumes are raised in alsamixer, but still I don't get any sound when playing a mp3 file with madplay (though madplay is starting without error and counting the seconds).

In lspci you can see two audio controllers: The VIA one is the onboard sound chip and the C-Media an additional PCI soundcard I installed because I suspected the onboard sound controller hardware to be broken. But it's not any better with the soundcard...
I also tried to add
options snd-via82xx ac97_quirk=0
to /etc/modprobe.conf according to information in the wiki but it didn't help.

This means that kernel modules for both cards were loaded. I'm not using 2 sound cards at this moment, but I'm sure you can switch from one card to another while the system is running. If you are using KDE, you can do it in kmix. So try to switch from one card to another and play with the switches and I'm pretty sure you will make your sound card work.

OC4J Startup looks fine, but can't access any samples via "localhost:8888"

I'm working with Reports Builder Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2. I've built a JSP report and a parameter form to go with it... they both work beautifully within Reports Builder.
Now I'm trying to run it via the Standalone OC4J on my machine...
I run C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\j2ee\DevSuite\startinst.bat and it looks like everything is fine...

I open up IE and key in "http://localhost:8888/" hit enter and receive a "The page cannot be displayed" message.
I've tried "

and still the same "The page cannot be displayed"
I first suspected it might be a WinXP SP2 Firewall issue, I found a posting that said to ensure that Port 8888 is open, I added that to the firewall configuration, but I'm still not seeing OC4J "serve" any of the pages.
Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong here??

Hmmm... perhaps this is my problem... I can not find either the <oracle_home>\opmn\bin or the <oracle_home>\dcm\bin folders on my machine... is this a "bad" thing?

But http://localhost:8889/j2ee/servlet/index.html continues to give me a page cannot be found.

WRT54G Can ping to outside world but can't browse internet.

I have a WRT54G wireless router. The wireless is working fine as I can communicate with the router admin area via a web browser. I can also send and receive packets by pinging a site - like www.google.com. The router is connected to a cable modem. If I plug my laptop directly to this modem (by-passing the router) I can browse the web no problem.
I have a network cable connecting the modem and router. If I unplug this cable the 'internet' light on the router goes out (indicating that it can sense the modem), when I plug it back in it goes on again. So everything seems fine. Only I can't browse the web or send and receive email through the router.
I have tried resetting the router to the defaults - all to no avail. It was working fine, then last weekend - without touching any settings, something changed and we were unable to browse as usual???

If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you have neither, check what firewall or Internet security you have on your PC, Disable it and try accessing the Internet.Also adjust your IE browser settings.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page >>> Tools >>> Internet Options- On "General" Click on "Use Blank" button. Click on "Delete Cookies" and click on ok of the confirmation box. I am trying to set the airport express with a printer; everything looks fine but I keep getting an error message, any tips??

An AirPort Express running firmware version 6.3 must be an old one. The Express is unrelated to Bluetooth, but it is likely that your wireless speaker signal is interfering with the Express's wireless signal. This is a common problem with wireless speakers and the older 2.4 GHz - only Express.
The cure probably going to require upgrading your Express to a newer model, and using the relatively interference-free 5 GHz band.

Toshiba Thrive tablet connects to Linksys E1000, but can't browse internet

HELP! I bought my wife a Toshiba Thrive 16GB tablet for Christmas and have spent 3 hours being bounced back and forth between Toshiba and Cisco support!
I have a wireless network with a Linksys E1000 router. I'm using WPA2 Personal security, MAC filtering is turned off, and all other settings are basically default. I have updated it to the latest firmware version (2.1.02). I have 2 laptops, a wireless access point for my DirecTV DVR and WII (with a switch in-between) and an Apple IPhone 4. All of these devices have NO problem connecting wirelessly to the router and browsing the Internet.
I set the tablet up, connected to my network (checked the password and security settings 6 times). The tablet shows that it is connected to my local network. However, when I try to access the Internet, it hangs. Fortunately, there is some idiot in the neighborhood who has an unsecured network. I connected the tablet to that network and VOILA! I was able to browse, download the latest updates for the tablet, etc.
So, I thought, OK, let's disable all security on my router, so I set the wireless security to "disabled". Saved, and restarted. The tablet STILL won't browse the internet!
I'm tired of being tossed back and forth with techs who are clueless. Has anyone had any problem similar to this with an Android-based device?
I would think that if the tablet is accepted with its credentials that it would allow internet access! One final thing that I tried was turning on MAC filtering and allowing access using the MAC address and that still didn't work.
When I look at the details of the connection on the tablet, it shows a strong signal, the SSID name, and the IP address that it was assigned by DHCP. I hope that someone can help, otherwise I'll have to go back to Best Buy and exchange it for some other tablet. I purposely bought this one over the IPad2 because the battery can be swapped out for a freshly charged one and the memory can be upgraded to add up to 128GB with a SD memory card.
Any help is appreciated as I have torn out the few remaining hairs on my head! <LOL>

I'm replying to my own posting as I have solved the problem and wanted to post it in case anyone else has the same problem. I would venture to say that upcoming updates to the Android system may solve this problem.
For some reason, when the Thrive is set for DHCP ip addressing, it is not going out to the internet. So, I changed the network profile to manual with a static IP address. I also input the router address and DNS addresses with the router's IP address. As soon as I saved the changes it was magic. The tablet connected and internet speed was lightning fast.
So, anyone having problems, give this a try as you'll not get anywhere with Cisco or Toshiba support.

New apartment and got an RCA brand modem from them. I hooked my Linksys wireless router to it and have the ethernet cable going from the computer to the router. Desktop works fine. My laptop, moms lapop, ipod can't get to the internet. I see my network on the list and I can connect to it perfectly. It even says connected ( Both on my laptop as well as my moms). On the top though it says no internet access and the network icon has the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark in it.
It seems its not a virus or anything since I recovered my laptop recently. It's on more than one device so it seems like it would be something in the router settings. Therefor I went into the router settings. Keep in mind that I was able to get on my router settings on my laptop. Not my desktop for some reason.
Network mode was Mixed, wireless channel is on 1 and WEP security mode with a password. Also keep in mind that this worked perfectly fine in my old condo. So now the only thing that has changed is a different modom and now living in an apartment.
What could be the problem here?

Make sure the cords are properly connected. Make sure the RCA Modem is connected to the internet port of the Linksys router.

Need Help... Everything looks fine but only some of it works!

I just bought an Airport Extreme last night at the apple store and hooked it up this morning and walked through the instructions and it works, but doesn't all at the same time. Let me explain...
I have a MacBook (with wireless connection) running Leopard, a PowerMac (PPC model on ethernet connection running Tiger), an iMac G5 (PPC model running Tiger as well and on ethernet) an iPhone (running the latest software update) and a VoiP connection through a linksys modem as well as a Wii and an xBox 360 that I haven't gotten around to yet because of the issues.
Now, before I set it all up I installed the software that came with the Extreme int my Tiger PowerMac and then plugged in the VoiP, PowerMac and iMac into the ethernet ports. I then connected my Comcast broadband modem into the WAN port on the back of the extreme and then configured it. Now, here's where it gets interesting...
My VoiP service works great! My computers can recognize the Extreme Base and :I can configure it and update through all of them, whether its wirelessly or hard wired and they all pull an IP address to be able to access the internet through. BUT, none of my computers can connect to the internet when I open Safari or Firefox. So my phone works great, but my computers don't. I can connect each wired and wireless computer to the cable modem directly and they work fine, it's only when they connect to the router that I see a problem and cannot connect to the internet even though each of them recognizes the Base Station and I can configure it through them.
I would appreciate any help on figuring out this dilemma! I need my internet on all of computers as well as my phone line! thanks in advance for any advice or help you can give me...

Disconnect the VOIP device from the Base Station. Then restart the Base Station and the Macs, and see what happens (with the VOIP still disconnected).
What make/model of VOIP device are you using?

PC laptop connects to Imac's airport network, but can't browse internet

I've got a new early 2008 iMac with inbuilt Airport and I'm trying to use the in-built airport to create a wireless network with my windows based PC laptop.
Before getting the iMac this year I had an old 2000 eMac and a Netgear router that I used to connect my PC to the internet wirelessly. It worked perfectly after I set it all up using the Router login page.
But now using the in-built Airport, the PC can go as far as connecting to the iMac's internet connection, but whenever I try to view a page on Firefox or IE, I get an "address not found" page. And yes, I've got my Firefox's network connection settings set to "auto-detect proxy settings for this network".
Is there something wrong with my Airport, or are there some fundamental setup steps I need to go through in setting up the network?
This is what I did to set up my Airport network: I chose Create Network from the Airport pulldown menu, then gave it a name, with the channel set to Automatic (11). I've chosen a 5 ascii character WEP password. Then when I connect on my PC laptop for the first time, it sees the SSID, then asks for the network key. I enter it, it spends about 3 minutes trying connect to the iMac, and finally it says Connected, with a signal strength of excellent.
This is all well and good, but as I said, as soon as I try to access the internet, it fails with a broken page. Even though it says "connected" as the wireless status.
The same happens when I set up a new network using this time a 13 ascii character WEP password.
Is it in fact possible to connect to the in-built Airport using a PC, or do I need to get a new external router. Seems a bit of a waste...

I did as you said. I opened Sharing preferences, selected share your connection from Ethernet to computers using Airport. I then set up a new network with new WEP password, but unfortunately my PC won't connect at all to it. After I hit the connect button, it tries for a while, then I get the message "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network..."
Is it because I've said to connect to computers using Airport? Only one computer's got airport and that is the iMac that I'm trying to connect the PC to.
A reply above says I still need a router - is that the case? I thought the iMac's built in Airport effectively acts as a router.

Without changing anything: Live view looks fine, but "preview in browser" does not

I haven't made any changes to our website in months. When I opened my index page, I did not change anything yet, but did a "preview in browser" and my whole slideshow is missing! It's still fine on the live website, as I haven't uploaded anything. Help.... why is it doing this? I need to add a small icon to our homepage, but I don't want to upload this page if it's not going to work!

And, being embedded in JavaScript, they will not be found to be 'adjusted' by DW, even when using temporary files to preview. I'm afraid you will have to just lump the fact that they are not displaying in preview mode.

I'm not sure if the area has been surveyed; it's a large group of apartment buildings about a within a couple miles of Dulles International Airport in Northern Virginia, so I would imagine that it probably has, but I'm not sure. How would I find out?
I understand that the Network Extender does not support LTE connections (I know there are two models, the 1x-only and 3g, both made by Samsung - I have the 3g model, SCS-2U01). I know that it can support a 3G data connection, but that should be irrelevant - I'm always connected to my wifi network in my apartment.
What's particularly vexing, however, is that both a Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Nexus in my apartment (the other lines on my account) do not seem to have this issue. While I haven't done so with the S4, the Nexus exhibits this problem when my SIM is in it - and again, this is a fresh SIM from just a few weeks ago.
I'm currently trying to disable Mobile Data when in the apartment to see if that will make it more stable. I'll post in a day or two with results from that.
