Excel button & CL_GUI_ALV_TREE

Hello friends,
Actually i'm working on an ALV Tree (Object USING CL_GUI_ALV_TREE).
I have a requirement to export this ALV into Excel.
Unfortunately my toolbar doesn't have this function.
I searched for samples through the forum but i didn't understand how to use it...
May someone give me an easy solution or describe me the process to reach my requirement?
Thanks in advance,
Christian.

Any idea?

  • Add an excel button to a standard iview (MSS)

    Hi all,
    I'm working with MSS 6.0 EHP2.
    I need to add an excel button for downloading the content from a table of a standard scenario of MSS.
    Do you know if there is a way to do it??
    I'm talking about ECM (compensation) scenarios.
    Thanks in advance.

    I don't know where you are getting these tutorials, but they sound like they are very, very old. Along with not using AS2, you shouldn't be using scenes. Scenes are a left over method from the very earliest versions of Flash.
    The objective in preloading content is that you are loading in new content before the user needs it. If you are doing this loading well, the user will not know that the operation went on. Any sort of loading screen should only be seen if the user calls for content that has not loaded yet. Your design objective should be to show something to the user as quickly as possible when the user hits your site. Load in your additional content and then let the user experience your site.
    If you create a button on the stage in the same frame as your preloader object and name that button "enter_btn", then the code that you've shown above should do what you want.
    I haven't used AS2 in many years. I don't remember a lot about its syntax, but from what I read of your code, it looks like you are measuring the loading of the file that contains the preloader object. This methodology can lead to a problem. When Flash begins working, a certain amount of the movie has to load before anything is seen on the screen. This means that the loading telltale that you have set up in your code will never show "0%", and probably not even "50%".
    Here's a good tutorial that uses AS3 and fully explains the code and how the loader operates: http://flashexplained.com/preloaders/basic-loading-bar-preloader/
    Here's another: http://www.republicofcode.com/tutorials/flash/as3preloader/
    And here's a third: http://flashexplained.com/preloaders/making-the-complete-internal-preloader-in-flash-8-wit h-a-loading-bar-and-mathematical-preloaders/
    Take a look at those examples and compare and contrast their methods.

  • ALV GRID Export to Excel button Missing

    HI All,
    I am facing some problem with ALV GRID. When excuting the report with my user id I am able to see the 'Export to Local file' button in the ALV GRID where as if i am excuting with another user id which is having less authorisations than the button is greyed out.  I checked by giving all authorisation than we are able to see the button.
    Could anyone please tell me which authorisation object we have to assign to see the buttons.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Murali.

    Hi,
    Before clicking on the Export to Excel button, start the debugging session by placing the command /H in the command prompt.
    Now, put the break point at statement AUTHORITY-CHECK. Now it will trigger all the authorization objects relevant to this.
    check the sy-subrc value gets failed.
    Regards,
    Santhosh.

  • Remove export to excel button on an assignment block

    Hi
    I have a requirement to remove the "export to excel button" on an assignment block".
    I have coded the following in .htm
    <chtmlb:configTable xml              = "<%= lv_xml %>"
                          id                    = "BuilContactPerson"
                          navigationMode        = "BYPAGE"
                          onRowSelection        = "select"
                          table                 = "//BuilContactPerson/Table"
                          displayMode           = "<%= controller->view_group_context->is_view_in_display_mode( controller ). %>"
                          width                 = "100%"
                          headerVisible         = "FALSE"
                          hasLeadSelection      = "TRUE"
                          downloadToExcel       = "FALSE"
                          actions               = "<%= controller->gt_button %>"
                          selectionMode         = "<%= BuilContactPerson->SELECTION_MODE %>"
                          selectedRowIndexTable = "<%= BuilContactPerson->SELECTION_TAB %>"
                          selectedRowIndex      = "<%= BuilContactPerson->SELECTED_INDEX %>"
                          visibleFirstRow       = "<%= BuilContactPerson->visible_first_row_index %>"
                          usage                 = "ASSIGNMENTBLOCK"
                         />
    Though I have coded the downloadTo Excel to "FALSE" the button still appears.
    I think the button comes by default for an assignment and I am not sure how to restrict for assignment block.
    Can anyone please provide some pointers on this?
    Thanks
    Sushma

    H Sushma,
    Could you check with this SAP note 1288220 inorder to disbale the export to excel in the AB's.

  • What is the excel button in alv grid supposed to do?

    Hi All.
    In the ALV reports, we see an Excel button too.
    But on pressing it, a blank excel sheet opens, and there is no way to go out of it. We have to exit the report.
    What is it supposed to do?
    Thanks everybody !

    Hi Aishi,
    Yes you are correct.Well i would change my previous statement :
    EXCEL/Word Processing is not to open a BLANK SHEET, but to open an EXCEL/WORD document and paste the ALV output data into the Sheet. You have several option when you click on EXCEL. You can paste the ouput as a  PIVOT TABLE in excel sheet or Excel SAP Macros or a normal table.
    Open program <b>BCALV_FULLSCREEN_GRID_EDIT</b> in SE38 and execute it. Click EXCEL. And follow the directions. It will copy paste the code from the ALV output into Excel/Word File.
    The difference in EXPORT is that in EXPORT, you can download it in different formats ( VIz. excel, text etc ) without any formatting ( COlors etc.). But in the EXCEL button case, the data is copied and has different colours for columns etc.
    Best regards,
    Prashant

  • Problem with Excel button in ALV Grid...URGENT

    Hi All,
    I have developed a report in ALV Grid. As we all know that by default we get few buttons in ALV Grid, like summation, sorting download, etc.. In that we have one excel button. When i click that excel button the output of the report should give the output in excel sheet. But this is not working.
    The report is running fine except the excel button.
    Do anyone of u have any idea how to do that?
    Its very urgent...
    Regards,
    Parvez.

    Go through the code and Execute it on your system, I think this will do for you.
    In this code I used 3 radio buttons in my selection screen:
    If u selects the first radio button your out put shows into to the Excel sheet.
    If u selects the second radio button your out put shows the in the Editor screen.
    If u clicks the third radio button your output shows into the Excel as well as in the Editor.

  • EXCEL BUTTON  ALV MISSING DATA

    Hi,
    We just upgraded to SAP 6.0 and we are having an issue with some of our zreports using ALV.
    When using the excel button on the grid, it starts excel but only the first few lines
    the report are now being transferred to excel. Example: If I have five line in my alv report only three will appear in Excel. When you switch back to the SAP viewer
    the lines are displayed in the ALV grid.
    What I am missing?   Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
    Chris

    Please implement OSS Note: 947167. Point 5 in the note is the problem you are facing. I had exactly the same problem and after logging the issue to SAP, they replied me asking me to implement this Note and now it works fine- all data on ALV grid are getting transferred to Excel inplace.

  • Export excel button use & implementation issue

    Hi All,
    Please help me in creating export to excel button using item style "exportButton" on a page?
    Prathamesh

    Hi Prathamesh,
    You want to create a button to export the data into an excel from a table or the entire data into the excel.
    If you want to export the data from the table region to an excel, just add an item of type exportButton in the table actions and give the viewInstance
    Then the data will be exported and it will give an option to download or open.
    If you add this type of item(exportButton) at page level, whatever data you have got in the entire page will be exported to an excel.
    Thanks,
    With regards,
    Kali.

  • Pop Up to be displayed on Export to excel button click

    Dear All,
    I am using BW 3.5 web template for reporting. I have a requirement to display a pop-up window when user clicks on Export to excel button in web report. The pop up will be a confirmation message/disclaimer saying the data being sensitive.
    I need 2 buttons to be displayed on the pop-up, Ok and Cancel. If user clicks on Ok then data will be exported to excel as usual and if he clicks on Cancel then no action should be performed and pop up should be closed.
    Does anyone have implemented the scenario or can anyone guide me how to achieve this requirement.
    Regards,
    Niraj

    Not done this but you can use JavaScript confirm alert box
    Event 1.Upon pressing Export button to Open Alert Message
    2. Listen from Alert Message buttons OK or Cancel
    3.Trigger events based on user input.
    Google "JavaScript confirm alert box" you will get bunch of sample codes.

    Are there any authorization objects as well that govern ALV Grid buttons (excel) display.

    is it possible to call a pakagelink with using an excel button? We use this "MNU_eDATA_SELECTPACKAGE" to call several pakages via excel buttons, but I didnt find any macro to call a hole pakagelink.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Running the entire package link through MNU function is not feasible. Kindly take a look at the below link from help.sap for the list of the supported MNU commands:

  • Excel button in WAD

    HI
      I want to create an "excel  button" in the WAD Can any body suggest how to do..
    Thanks
    Rgds
    Pradeep

    Hi,
    insert a button group web item in your webtemplate. Under commands for your button you have to choose the EXPORT command. Then you can export a Web application in the format of your choice.
    Then you have to edit the export format to Excel...
    Export Format (EXPORT_FORMAT): you use this parameter to specify the format in which you want to export the Web application. The following options are available:
    ●      Microsoft Excel (XLS)
    ●      PDF (PDF)
    ●      PCL (PCL)
    ●      Postscript (PS)
    ●      Microsoft Excel 2000 (XLS 2000)
    ●      CSV

  • Delete blank lines when downloading to excel from CL_GUI_ALV_TREE

    Hi Experts
    I have developed a report using the class CL_GUI_ALV_TREE. If the user wants to download it into local machine in the excel format, he is going to the print preview and downloadn through Syste --> LIst --> Save --> Local File.
    But in the excel file there are few blank lines after each node. Now my client wants to excluding of those blank lines while downloading the file into excel. Is there any method to achieve this.
    Please advice me if there is any solution.
    Thanks in advance
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
    We cannot do any thing if the user download the file by that selection,
    Disable the download option from the toolbar and you provide a download button on the toolbar. as the user clicks the button the delete the black entries from the table and download it using  CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.

  • Export to Excel button only launches in Internet Explorer window

    Hi Experts - A subset users that are experiencing issues with the option to Export to Excel via Web Analyzer on 7.0.  For others, including myself it works just fine.
    When they click the Export to Excel option after running a query, it only opens in an Internet Explorer window (no Excel options to manipulate data) and does not give them the typical MS Excel pop-up window (like I get) to OPEN or SAVE in Excel format.
    Thinking this would be an MS Excel or Internet Explorer setting somewhere, but don't know where to find it....
    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello,
    I think that you're right, the problem doesn't seem to come from anything in SAP servers (otherwise no user would be able to make it work right).
    If I understand well, you want to open an Excel window when selecting "export to Excel" option, not having the table opened in IE with an Excel tab. Am I right ?
    If it's the case, I think that this should work :
    In windows explorer, open tools -> folder options
    Tab "file type"
    find xls extension, and click "advanced" button
    uncheck "browse in the same window" button
    I'm using windows XP, therefore I can't guarantee that you'll find the same menus with another OS. Furthermore, I'm using a french OS, so my translations might differ slightly from what you'll actually have on screen. The result is reflected in the following registry key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Excel.Sheet.8
    (this could be a different key, depending on the MS Office version installed on your computer)
    You should now have a DWORD value BrowserFlags = 8
    If you have a helpdesk department in your company, that handles software installations, I guess that they should handle this problem (by broadcasting the change in registry ?). But if you're a small company, where everyone has the rights to change such settings, this method will be OK.
    Best regards,
    Giang DANG
