Excel Interface

There is a user requirement for exporting a report in excel
when the report is exported in excel and when it is opened, the excel sheet opens in a small window
Now the user has to click on the maximise icon of the excel sheet to open the excell sheet fully
My question is whehter ther is a setting to open the excell sheet fully immediately on export i.e without the need of pressing the maximise icon

yes, i agree with Syed..
based on my observation with MS office, it opens the window to previous state. so make sure to maximize first before closing then try to open again..
as far as i know, there is no setting in Excel options that says "startup open always in maximized/minimize mode".. or something like that.. but if one day you find out that there is, pls tell me.. thanks.
good day..

  • Able to edit Business Rules through Excel interface?

    Hi,
I wonder if there is any way that I can add, modify or delete the Business Rules definitions through Excel interface. In the Admin Console, though the Business Rules interface looks neat, I encounter the following difficulties in editing the Account Transformation definitions:
    1. The check in the Reverse Sign sometimes disappears after the definitions being saved. I have to click something other than Business Rules, like Dimensions, Application, Security, etc, and come back to Account transformation again in order to have the Reverse Sign check being saved.
    2. I'm not able to to check the Reverse Sign in the last definition of Account transformation. It always disappears after being saved. My workaround is to put a dummy definition at the end or not to put that definition, which needs Reverse Sign, at the end.
    3. When I delete some definitions in the middle, the following error pops up after validation.
[] value does not exists in ID of Account dimension.
    4. I have written my definitions in my design documents in Excel but I'm not able to copy and paste all of them to Admin Console's business rules. I have to fill in each value one by one.
Or can I simply edit the table dbo.clcCALCAccount_XXXX? Since I used to be a database programmer, I feel it easier to directly edit the database table rather than using the business rules interface.
    Best Regards,
    Sunny

    Sunny,
It is not according to the book but it is possible to change the business rules directly on the SQL. That is the way i do it sometime... and yes the table you point is the right one. You see other tables for other business rules...
Usually i just do a copy and paste into excel. Then i change into excel (i also use EVPROs to check if the members are not calculated members...) and then i repaste it into SQL...
But I have to say, do it at your own risk, as I stated before it is not really advised/safe...

  • Excel Interface and IE11

On our web site, we have classic asp reports that are displayed using the excel interface via the code Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel".  When you click on a link to these reports, a pop-up appears that asks the user if
they want to open or save the file, and when the user clicks "Open", the report is launched via the Excel interface with IE.  This worked fine until some users upgraded their browsers to IE 11.  Now, when those users click "Open",
they will sometimes get the report to launch successfully, but will sometimes get the error message "Unable to Read File" within Excel.  There does not seem to be any pattern to this error...sometimes the report opens successfully, sometimes
it takes one extra try to open it, and sometimes it takes three to four tries.  It happens whether Excel is already open or not, and nothing changes between an unsuccessful attempt and a successful one.  Has anyone experienced this problem with IE
11, and if so, is there a solution?

Facing the same issue that, We have an Excel Export functionality. This functionality is working fine till IE10 but when tested in IE11 the exported Excel file popup window is not having Save/Save as option and only it  has "Open" option
and click on open, showing an error message "A DDE error has occured, and a description of the error cannot be displayed because it is too long. If the filename or path is long, try renaming the file or copying it to a different folder."
    Any suggestion on this.

  • How make customized menu default in excel interface

    Hi everybody,
Experts, i want to change the first screen that opens up when i open the excel Interface, instead of the three globes, i want my costumized menu to open, so the user can start working from there,
Is there any way to do it?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
To remove the 3 globes you can follow this:
First, as I recall, there is a file, u201CLaunch.dllu201D, (?) under the webfolders directory on the server that can be updated with the image you would like to use.
----Additionally, A SAP note has been created:
Note 1287629 - Customizing of Company Logo image in BPC for Excel
    (IM 3220483)
    Symptom
This purpose is supporting the customized image on default workbook when Logging on to BPC for Excel.
    Other terms
BPC 7.0M SP3 Microsoft, Company Logo, IM 3220483
    Solution
This is Supported in BPC 7.0M SP3.
Customer can change the image on the default workbook.
    Additional Info
If a customer wants to change the image on the default workbook, it needs to set the Application Set parameter on the Web administration as below.
    1. Image file should be in "Server Install\Data\WebFolders[Appset]"
    2. Add to Application Set Parameter.
    KeyID : COMPANY_LOGO
Value : image file name. Image file extention only support to "BMP","GIF" and "JPG".
    3. Available value
u2022 If you want no image on default workbook, you should leave blank in the value field.
u2022 If you want to show default image; terrestrial globe, you should set Default in value field or remove the key from the application set parameter.
As for setting a menu as the default I think you would need to either look at using a BPF or use a macro and open a custom menu.

  • Any Ideas For Sorting Rows When Planning Using Excel Interface

    Greetings Colleagues,
I have a customer that is using BW-BPS with the Excel-In-Place user interface.  During end-user planning, users have expressed a desire to re-sort their data using a criteria different than that defined in the lead column of the layout.  Unfortunately, once the data is sorted in Excel, this causes errors when saving.
Any ideas on how a user may be able to re-sort data without adversely impacting the layout?
Thank you in advance for any ideas you might have.
    -M

    Hi Michael,
Once you execute the Planning layout in Excel, you still have the Excel Menu options available. If you go to
"Data Menu" and select the "Sort" option it allows you to sort the dataset based on the criteria you want and allows you to save the data also.
Hope this is what you were looking for.

  • Keithley to excel interfacing problem ..Please help ! !

I am currently doing project on scanning the resistance from a keithley 2700 DMM for reliability testing of thermistors.
I got the resistance value using single measurement VI.
But what i need is everytime i invoke the keithley scan based on a counter signal ,it should give the resistance value.
And all these values should get saved in an excel file one after the other along with the cycle number.
The problem i encountered is that ,"after the trigger pulse is given to keithley 2700, it gives the output only after 5 seconds. So i am not able to interface the  keithley with the table and i am not able to get the previous values."
I am attaching my current VI. Here i got the 2 required outputs, but i could not import them into excel one after the other.
    Please help me.
NB: here i have considered a latched boolean switch as my counter signal.

No worries. The best way to learn is to just take a look at examples. You might not know exactly why the examples are the way they are, but it will still help a lot. When I look at the ni.com/idnet page for your DMM, I get this driver:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=0470C9F181C02E75E0440003BA7CCD...
This driver includes an examples folder--take a look through it, and especially look at "Keithley 27XX Continuous Multi Read". I think that may do what you need, or at least a lot of it.
As to the examples, look at those links in my last post. If they don't do what you want them do, check ni.com/community and see if you can find something similar. It really comes down to how much information you need to store.
    Thanks,

  • Java/Excel interface

    Hello everybody!!
I am doing an MSc Dissertation at the moment and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get a tab delimited text file and use Java to create it in to an Excel spreadsheet format?
This new spreadsheet will then need to be modifyed to supply new information, which may then be displayed as charts.
    Any help appreciated,
    Kenny..

Excel understands tab-delimited text anyway. Why would you want to get Java to change it at all?
Anyway, search Javaworld for "Excel" - they've run articles on various technologies for playing around with Excel files.
    http://www.javaworld.com
I don't think there's much out there that will help you do charts or formulae with Excel through Java. The only route that I know for doing that is using a messy Java-COM bridge (and that requires opening up Excel). It'll depend what you hope to achieve.
    Hope this helps.

  • SAPGUI 7.10 installation, error in BEx Analyzer - Excel interface

    Hi!
I have installated SAPGUI 710, and when I want to execute a new report in BexAnalyzer I get this error
    "BexAddin
Workbook format .xlsm is supported only from offices Excel 2007version"
The mail issue, is that I have maden all updgrades and package from microsoft from 2003 for using 2007 workbook... i dont know what I can do...
And my coworker, has the similar error, however, she is using offices 2007, and her error is RFC_ERROR_Program, when she wants to execute report... her SO is Vista, in my case is XP.
    Somebody, can help us! please!!!!!!!!
    BR
    Thanks a lot

Are U opening the workbook in 3.5 Analyser?
If so then unfortunately Business explorer Analyzer 3.x is not supporting the
new file-format. Please refer to note 1052761.
If you would like to use
new office 2007 file format you need to use Bex Analyzer 7.0.
When using the SAP Default Workbook please set the flag "Use XLS file format" as defined in note
    1267924.
The new Excel 2007 file formats require the implementation of
    the latest BW Support Package.
If you are interested in  workbooks in xlsm format you have to
use at least SP16 and a recent FEP (e.g. FEP801). But it is
not correct that it will work also when you implement the notes on a SP
level which is older then SP15, as then other corrections are missing.
Please check also note 1055581 ... where you find the info that
we recommend to use at least SPS15 (which is BW-SP17).
