Replenishment strategy in kanban

Hi,
I have created replenishment strategy for maintaining in control cycle of kanban.
1) In house production strategy
2) external procurement strategy
3) stock transfer strategy.
But while creating control cycle I couldnot view the strategy 1) and 2).
I could see only 3rd stratgy.
Pl. tell me what could be the reason.

Hi
The Problem is that the Strategy created is not allowed for storage location that is included in planning.
Error msg no PK192
Solution
Change the MRP indicator for the storage location in the material master record.
In MM02 for the material , Plant and Storage location combination  select the ind 1 for SLoc MRP indicator in MRP-4 view and chk whether the newly created Strategies are appearing in PK01 or not.

  • Kanban Replenishment Strategy with Reporting Points

I am trying to implement a SAP kanban system with repetitive manufacturing using reporting points.  My problem is that when I change the status from empty to full I get error RM086 - GR with backflush not for reporting point logic with automatic GR option.  I get this error regardless of control key (auto GR or not auto GR) setting on the routing.  I reading SAP help on the subject; I see there is a page discussing replenishment strategy with reporting points which would infer that there should be a strategy with a similar name in configuration for replinishment strategies for in-house prodution.  We are on ECC 6.0 and this option is not available in our system.    What am I missing???

    Hi,
As you are using In House production Replenishment Strategy , You must define Replenishment strategy for reporting points in Configuration as below:
SPRO->Production>KANBAN>Replenishment Strategies>Define In-house Production Strategies>Working With Reporting Points Replenishment strategy you need to define.
Then assigned this defined strategy in KANBAN Control Cycle in PKMC-->Replenishment Strategy->
Choose In-house Production Radio Button and in front of that select the above defined replenishment strategy to work with reporting points.
    Hope this helps.

  • PK01 Replenishment Strategy without MRP

    Dear guru ,
i want to create a control cycle with a Replenishment Strategy without MRP.
The material master have MRP Type ND.
When I create a control cycle the system select strategy for  kanban control with MRP.
I have verified that I must also enter storage location mrp indicator equal to 1 in order to select strategy control without MRP.
If i enter storage location mrp indicator equal to blank why the system donu2019t check only material master mrp type ?
    Thanks.

  • No suitable replenishment strategy

    Hi,
While creating control cycle for kanban i am getting this error,
    No suitable replenishment strategy.
strategy has been assign to plant .

What is the replenishment strategy that you are using? Some of the external procurement strategies (without MRP) require storage location to be excluded from MRP.
This can be done by maintaining 1 in the SLoc MRP Indicator field (MRP4 view of Material master for the storage level you are using)

  • No TO is created automatically when Kanban is set to empty sometimes

    Hi Gurus,
My customer come across a strange problem.
The same material , the same Kanban, sometimes TO can not be created automatically when Kanban is set to empty, but sometimes TO can be created automatically.
    I checked the following things:
Configuration :activate 'Automatic TO creation immediately after TR generation' for replenishment strategy '0006 Kanban from WM with transfer requirement'.
Storage type and storage section search strategy are right.
Master data: MRP2 View and WM1 and WM2 view are right.
Supply area and control cycle are right.
Stock: there is enough stock in right storage type and storage section
when the TO is not created automatically , i can use LT04 to create TO , and search stratey works well.  and TO can be created successfully.
So only i can come up is because of some one is creating TO , so no TO can be created because of the material is blocked .
Do you know any other reason will cause this problem?
    BR,
    Dragsky

Who has any idea on this? thank you!

  • Kanban from WM w. transfer requirements

Our kanban material is in units of measure KGs and the issue is that the actual qty is more times than not is different from the requested qty (kanban qty in the control/cycle).  Changing the kanban status from WAIT to EMPTY using PKBC or PK21 and populating the actual qty field doesn't have any effect.  The TR is created with the control/cycle qty (requested qty).
Using Replenishment Strategy 0006 Kanban from WM w. transfer requirements is there a way to use PKBC or PK21 to change the replenishment qty (requested qty) to actual qty, and if not what would be a good pratical procedure change the qty.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi,
The actual quantity is the quantity that is in the container when the status is set to "full". You can set this qty in PKBC or PK21 when you set the status from wait to empty.
if  teh GR receited at the container contains less / more qty than requestd qty then this actual qty is popultaed from TR confirmation.
I think in this case you need to change the reqyested qty in the kanban itself.
Also check if you can utilize claculate automatic calculation of kanban qty function using calculation profile in kanban functioanlity.

  • KANBAN for 311 MT with WM Active

    Hi Experts,
In one of my requirement, we want to move the stock from yard location to production location using KANBAN board.
This will be a simple 311 movement from inventory management point of view. We have Warehouse Managed storage locations already. While setting up the replenishment strategy for KANBAN using CLASSIC Control Cycle what steps we have to map in the system?

  • SUPPLY AREA  & Controlling Cycle

    Hello,
I am working with PP REM scenario.
I want to know more about the customizing and master data and Function of following terms.
    1. SUPPLY AREA
    And
    2.  Controlling Cycle
    Maulik

    Dear Maulik,
    Dear Maulik,
The Master data required for Kanban production control includes
1.Supply Area:A supply area is an interim storage location on the shop floor which is used to provide material directly to the
production line or the work center.
The supply area can be a shelving area, an area marked off on the ground, special boxes and so on. Defining the supply areas
for a plant is part of the material flow design for KANBAN. The supply area is defined in Customizing and is assigned the following
    objects:
    Plant
    Storage location
    Person responsible
Goods movements are posted to the storage location assigned to the supply area.
One storage location can be assigned to several supply areas, however, one supply area cannot be assigned to several storage locations.
2.Control Cycle: The control cycle defines the relationship between the demand source and the supply source.
The control cycle contains the following control data for KANBAN production:
    ●     Kanban circulation, that is, the number of kanbans and the quantity per kanban or per call item as well as the number of load carriers
    ●     The basic data required for automatic kanban calculation, if necessary
    ●     Replenishment strategy
    ●     Printing kanbans, if necessary
    ●     The delivery address, if necessary
3.Replenishment Stragegy: The replenishment strategies define in the control cycle how replenishment is to take place:
    Using in-house production
    Using external procurement
    Using stock transfer
The replenishment strategies also determine whether and which replenishment elements (run schedule quantities, production orders, and so on) are created by the kanban signal.
The replenishment strategy is assigned to the material in the control cycle.
1.You can create the supply area by executing PK05
2.Control cyce can be created using PK01.

  • Kanban: in-house production. relation kanban - replenishment order

    Dear Experts,
We are investigating the posibilities of using kanban for in-house production. We work with production orders. I have set the test system so it works with classic Kanban and a replenishment strategy that will create PP production ordres.
The system works OK. When the KANBAn is set to EMPTY (in the kanban board for instance) , a replenishment element is generated. The relation is 1 KANBAN - 1 Production order.
Is it possible to "assign" two KANBANS to a single replenishment element (productio order in my case)? In some cases two or more kanbans will be emptied at the same time (in the KANBAN board for instance), and this would reduce the "noise" in the system.
Somehow in the documentation "PP-KANBAN" manual, inside "KANBAN control. in-house production" some other option to reduce the amount of production orders is mentioned, but not very clearly explained how to do this.
    Thanks for your answers,
    Arturo

    Hello,
Your question is not clear to give correct feedback. Do you want to wprk with multiple KANBANS with production orders?
I am not understanding about the sentence "reduce the amount of production orders"
If you want to work work minimum production orders then you can automate the KANBAN replinishment through MRP.

  • Kanban Replenishment

    Hi
I am creating the control cycle( Classic KANBAN ) with replenishment strategy External Source , I am not allowed to do.
I am checking the drop menu and error message is coming no suitable replenishment strategy found.
Please maintain the replenishment strategies in Customizing for Kanban
It is surprising because Replenishment stratigies are maintained for the plant when I check the Customizing.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards
    Ankur

    Hi,
It may be very very late to answer you, but it may be useful to other users.
If you selected the external source strategy in the control cycle, you need to inform in the material master, in the screen MRP 4, in the field 'SLoc MRP indicator' the value '1 - Storage location stock excluded from MRP'. Make sure to access the material informing the center and Storage location, otherwise this field will not be visible.
You do this because the kanban will act as the 'new' MRP for this material.

    Alejandra.

  • Delivery schedule in kanban

    Hi all.
Can anybody tell me how the delivery schedule is created for scheduling agreement when bean scan empty?
    Thanks

    Hi PKB,
You need to select the replenishment strategy of External procurement as Working with Scheduling agreements in the control cycle. Prior to this, you need to create a  scheduling agreement through tcode ME31L. And the number generated for the scheduling agreement is to be assigned in the control cycle. This is prerequisite. Whenever you empty the kanban bin or if the status change to empty, than a schedule line is created.
Reward if cleared and close the thread.

  • How to increase the quantity in KANBAN bin via BAPI or user exit?

    Hi everyone,
Currently my interface is posting MIGO movement type 201 (Goods Issue with ref to Cost Centre).Stock in SLOC will decrese. Then my program will use BAPI (BAPI_KANBANCC_WITHDRAWQUANTITY) to update the qty in the KANBAN to reduce the qty. I'm using 9011 replenishment strategy with Reservation. Once KANBIN bin is EMPTY and the FULL button is clicked, a Reservation will be created for fulfillment.
Now there is a new requirement to cater for 202 movement. Interface will post the 202 movement via the Gooods Movement Create BAPI. Stock in SLOC will increase.
    Question :
For the KANBAN portion, which KANBAN BAPI or function can I use to increase the qty in the KANBAN bin to be in line with the 202 movement at the IM level?
Eg if there is a 202 movement of 2 qty in the SLOC, the KANBAN bin will need to be increase by 2 qty as well.
    Thanks in advance

  • BOM not copied to sch. line in Sub Contract scheduling agreement in Kanban.

    Hi,
We are trying to procure material (A) via subcontract scheduling agreement document using Kanban process. This subcontract material has a valid BOM (say it has child materials B & C). We are working with 'Replenishment element for kanban' model (not JIT call).
When Kanban bins status is changed to empty, a schedule line is placed in the subcontract scheduling agreement. But when we try to view the BOM of the schedule line created (Item -> components -> overview), we dont find any child material (B&C) attached to it. Hence when Kanban bin was changed from RED to GREEN, material movement 101 takes place for parent material (A) but 543 (consumption of child materials) is not happening for child materials (B &C).
Mean while, we created some schedule lines manually in aforementioned SC sch.agreement. When we view the BOM of this manually created schedule line, we can see the child materials attached to it. Hence when bin status was changed from RED to GREEN, both 101 & 543 movements were posted.
Can anyone let us know what needs to be done so that when Kanban bin is changed to EMPTY, it places schedule line in SC sch.agreement along with its BOM (Child material) details?
    Warm regards,
    Saravana.

    Dear Ashok,
Issue: how to make BOM field(Component Part) in PO/ SA field non editable in MM customising. After the PO is saved user can not able to edit the component field in PO or Scheduling Agrreement.
BOM field ( component Part ) is  directly  dependent on quantiyu of material  entered. so once you change the PO quantity the component quanity wil change accordingle,
presently  you can not achievev thease
but You can set the release strategy like that Po that it is not changable, doing so u r requirement willl achieve
    Hope your query is resolved

  • Is there a procedure to auto populate shipping instructions on Kanban STOs?

    Hello,
    The scenario is this:
    - intra-company STO (does not cross borders, no billing), type UB, created via Kanban when the bin is emptied
    - for this organization, type UB STOs also originate from other sources (ie, conversion from Purchase Reqs), not just originating from Kanban; although for a single material within a plant, Kanban is the method and UB STO is the replenishment strategy
    - Shipping instructions (on the Delivery Line Item tab) are a required field when UB STO is created directly, but via Kanban background process the STO is saved successfully without shipping instructions (I find this interesting). This is not a text for shipping instructions, it's the element EVERS, field name EVERS in structure MEP01313.
    The problem is this:
    - the user (in this case the planner) must go in to manually add the shipping instructions on the Delivery Line Item tab prior to SAP allowing delivery document creation & shipment activities. this manual intervention by the user is unacceptable to the  business.
The desired solution from the business is this:
    - the business has specified a default shipping instruction that they want (it is configured and ready to go)
    Steps we've taken to resolve:
-I first thought of using a purchasing info record. But we cannot use a purchasing info record to default the shipping instructions because this STO is using SUPPLYING PLANT and not vendor as the relationship.
-Then, I thought about maintaining shipping instructions on the purchasing view material master record, but the requirement is to only default these shipping instructions when they originate from Kanban and when the STO type = UB. So I thought it was too broad because it could impact other purchasing functions for the same material, plus the info record doesn't work for supplying plant.
-Now I am thinking about a procedure of some sort to configure to find the correct shipping instructions when material master + STO data meet certain characteristics. Is there such a thing?
-Another option would be a user exit available in the STO to do a check for Kanban indicator and STO type and then to choose the desired shipping condition, but this doesn't seem as elegant as other potential options, and seems restrictive (ie, hard-coding the key for the desired shipping instructions or building a ztable with combinations of STO attributes and desired shipping condition, which requires maintenance).
-Finally, it seems odd that the background creation of the STO via Kanban doesn't trigger a hard error when it checks the document for completeness, rather than saving and getting a document # even though the document is missing a required field. This seems to point to STO user exit as a way to fix this problem.
Your thoughts on the assumptions we've made and the potential resolutions are greatly appreciated.

Answered my own question. This may help someone, so here is the answer for version 4.6.
The way to automatically default shipping instructions when the STO uses "SUPPLYING PLANT" instead of vendor is to first configure a purchasing value key that contains the shipping instructions. The path is: IMG>Materials Management>Purchasing>Material Master>Define Purchasing Value Keys.
Then, the material master record must be updated on the Purchasing View with the new purchasing value key.
    Cautions to this approach:
    1. Even though this is on the Purchasing View, purchasing value key is on the MARA table, so it is not a plant-specific material master setting. One purchasing value key per material master record.
    2. The purchasing value key contains settings for reminders and over/under-delivery tolerance percentages. This is interconnected with the choice of shipping instructions. Be sure that the purchasing value key is configured to meet the wide variety of planning needs that could exist at multiple locations where the material is used.
    3. Some of the above considerations are mediated by the fact that the material master purchasing value key is over-ridden by specific information contained on a purchasing info record or a contract.

  • GR against Purchase order in KAnban

    Hi
I have used replenishment strategy as using purchase orders and after maintaining the required elements i made kanban card empty but when i am doing GR against that PO it is not increasing stock neither turning kanban green / full
    Please heelp in this regard
    Amit

    hi vijay
this is in same regard i mean '+" and '-' sign in kanban
as u said it will work vice versa it means when i scanning my kanban card from supplier to green / FULL then it would automatically do GR for the same amount as mentioned on the kanban card yse it turns green but negative sign remains there
and when i do the actual Gr for the PO of that kanban card it then removes negative sign
I want to avoid this i dont want double process i just want scan to bring material in and that too in desired stock quality stock or some other I mean where i can specify the receiving storage location for external procured part .
    please help in this regard
