Excel/PHP/dreamweaver prob has me stumped

I am building bar to show the daily goal and what they are at
all through the day.
I am basing it pretty much of this one:

The data that i want to pull from is on an Excel spreadsheet
that is updated through out the day and also gets data off of
mulitple other excel files. I just need to pull one # off that
spread sheet and put it so it will automatically update the
barchart.
If im not mistaken there is a string i can enter to pull from
the excel spreadsheet field, am i correct?
If not would it be easier to make a little page where the
management could enter a number and it directly update the
barchart??
Any suggestions will be helpful..ill check this tomorrow when

You can do that one, but PHP has much greater options when
dealing with
graphics.
You might look into PHP GDI manipulation - you could easily
create a bar
graphic with a percentage of it colored - or two graphics and
put them side
by side, with their sum total = 100 pix and setting their
width as 33px vs.
67 px or something of that nature.
With your excel file, though, I thought that link provided
would probably
help you more fully utilize PHP and displaying your data.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 has shopped working

In the past two days I have been getting the following error
message when I try to make changes to an open page in Dreamweaver
CS3:
"Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 has stopped working"
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate. I have not installed any
new programs recently, so I'm thinking that either a recent Windows

Installed Mavericks - Now Dreamweaver CC has slowed to a Crawl

Dreamweaver's poor performance under Mavericks is causing me enormous problems.
I have wasted many hours trying to find a solution, and even more waiting for Dreamweaver to respond to the simplest of changes/additions to HTML/CSS.
It seems that Apple's apparent generosity in providing Mavericks as a Free Upgrade is, in reality, Apple covering it's back for creating an 'upgrade' that is not fit for purpose.
Are there any solutions available, or on the immediate horizon? Such as disabling App Nap in it's entirity?
Or, is best to take a retrograde step and reinstall Mountain Lion?

Cutting-edge, or unique issues may not, however, show up in a Google search (at least, not on the first few pages -- even Google crawlers take time to index new posts). But someone has to be the first to post a question. Would you also berate that first person for posting a question? And the link you supplied does not solve the issue of Dreamweaver being sluggish. The problem they had was a swap-space/drive issue -- which could have affected multiple applications that rely on that kind of swap space. Besides, your comment suggests that the link you provided was easy to find and was the solution to the problem. You've failed to realize that there may be a lot of problems at play... and a lot of ways to resolve different problems that might have similar-looking symptoms, but that are not related otherwise. For example, I have a problem with Dreamweaver CC (even after the new December 18, 2013 patch) -- it is excessively sluggish, constantly runs 35-55% of CPU, even when idle, and often times freezes. I've been using Dreamweaver CS5.5 instead, as it works just fine under Mavericks.
My Dreamweaver problem has yet to be solved. I've tried uninstalling AIR, I've tried removing the Creative Cloud application manager from the menu, and a host of other suggested "fixes" posted on various pages -- including the page that you linked to as the "Ever thought of doing a Google search?" end-all-be-all fix. Didn't work for me.... so my quest continues.

SSRS 2012 export to Excel 2010 Via IE8 has many compatibility issues

We have many reports in SSRS 2012 which had originally developed in SSRS 2005. When ever we render these report into Excel we face two major issues;
First: After reports render in to Excel (xlsx) format, we have cell, column, row shifting problem and every element of the report is not in the same place as appose to 2005 render to xls format. Second.
for any drill through (link) report all the url will be blocked by Excel.
We use SSRS 2012, Office 2010 and IE 8. Also we don't want to add Export to Excel 2003 feature. In other word we want out put in xlsx.
Any solution, suggestion, hotfix is appreciated

According to your description, after you updated SSRS 2005 reports to SSRS 2012, reports render appose to 2005 when export them to Excel, and drill through link is blocked.
Question1:
A report definition file includes a reference to the RDL namespace that specifies the version of the report definition schema that is used to validate the .rdl file. After a report is upgraded locally or on the report server, you might notice additional errors,
warnings, and messages. This is the result of changes to the internal report object model and processing components, which cause messages to appear when underlying problems in the report are detected.
When you open an .rdl file in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), if the report was created for a previous namespace, Report Designer automatically creates a backup file and upgrades the report to the current namespace. This is the only way
you can upgrade a report definition file.
In order to improve the efficiency of troubleshooting, I need to ask several questions:
“we have cell, column, row shifting problem and every element of the report is not in the same place as appose to 2005 render to xls format” Could you please provide detailed information about the problem? I would be appreciated it if you could provide
a screenshot.
Did you update the reports by opening the .rdl files in SSDT?
Could you export report to Excel 2003 to see if it displays correctly?
This may be a lot of information to ask for at one time. However, by collecting this information now, it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.

I tested the issue in my local machine, when we add drillthrough action to the report, if we select Go to report or Go to URL, the link works fine after we export report to excel. It failed to work when we use javascript:void window.open to open a URL in new
windows, the “window.open” can’t work in Excel because of the JavaScript protocol can work only with an exact page.

Thank you much for your fast respond. And as for your questions:
1- Yes I did upgrade them by using SSDT tools in VS2012 and then deploy them again into our SSRS2012 report server.
2- For URLs and Hyperlinks, because the action is go to sub report, I used "Go To Report" and by look at content that been blocked by Excel, I have noticed that (Go To Report) action passes IP address of our SSRS Server . I don't know how can I change
it to use the actual path instead.
3- Shifting the Cells and Rows means when I export report (from SSRS 2005) to excel in xls format (Excel 2003 for example), has very same look as it shows in screen, but when I export it from ssrs 2012 to render it in to xlsx format (Excel 2010 in our case)
I face with merging cells and when I compare this xlsx out put with xls out put of very same report I have see the row that used to be on A23 for example now is in A20 or the column that used to be in A7 now is in B9 for example. And required a lot of manual
work on design to work with spaced between text boxes and location of each data region, and overlaps to get the same result. I want to know is there more efficient way to achieve the same out put as xls.
4- I can't export report to render in Excel 2003 (xls) format directly from SSRS server for we don't have that option in our export list, but I did "save it as" xls and faced the same Row, column, cell shifting as with xlsx.

Dreamweaver CS6 "has stopped working" when closing

Hey, I recently upgraded to Windows 8 x64 and have had an annoying issue with Adobe Products. When I was using 7 x64 I never had any issues really, loved that OS.
Whenever I close Dreamweaver or Fireworks, a Windows error comes up saying "Dreamweaver/Fireworks has stopped working".

Dreamweaver CC has stopped

HI,
I did install Adobe creative Cloud suite, I was able to launch most of the product installed but I having problem with dreamweaver.
after Dreamweaver is launched a message came out "Adobe Dreamweaver CC has stopped" then app close itself.
there is not additional information that help to troubleshoot the issue
I need help, I did try it on three different PC always getting same error message

I'm using Adobe dreamweaver cs6 trial. I open any file, then click View Code. The program is not responding. The error message "Adobe Dreamweaver cs6 stopped" and the program has closed.
I have reinstalled. It crashes DW to close again.

I am having this same problem trying to edit a wordpress php template ... I have gone into DW prefs and turned OFF (both either unchecked, or checked and in drop down 'disabled'); and it appears in CODE VIEW trying to edit the single.php template, DW hangs when opening ("not responding" error in Windows frame for app). I am running the full cloud license version of CS6 V12 bulid 5808, Win7/64, Core i7, 32GB RAM, SSD OS and WD velociraptor. It does appear to be a bug, as I never had this isssue with editing wordpress php files since 2005. This needs to be addressed in an update ASAP. I can edit in Textpad in 20 sec., it takes 5 minutes to deal with couple of copy-paste items in WD, which is annoying since I just paid full upgrade from CS5 to CS6 cloud; and uninstalled DW/CS5.5. ARGH.
Each time an edit is made there is a short buffer effect, as if the program is trying to do something. I first noticed this when trying to save something and the * stayed in file name, like it was thinking about the doc before letting me save. But today, it became a big problem with one file, as EVERY TIME I make an edit, it either immediately times out, or I can type in a couple of words ... then ... wait ... freeze ... wait ..... wait .... wait .... okay works again. Phone home making text edits? Very frustrating. Can't use DW to update my site today due to this bug.
It does appear that any php file with code that references javascript .,.. mine has calls to (1) addthis button, (2) twitter.com/share and (3) facebook (//connect.facebook.net) elements .... but hey... this is CODE view, why try to connect to those items in code view when trying to edit TEXT ?
BUG. BUG. BUG. Please fix. Make DW CS6 have complete *unhook* option from any "go out and look for stuff on web/net" ... options in DW6 panel obviously do NOT work in build 5808.

Common utility library for multiple websites (PHP/Dreamweaver)?

I am working on several PHP-based websites, and would like to
use the same utilities in
them all. The local directories for the individual websites
are all subdirectories of the
website D: Websites.
I could fairly readily put the utilities in a website D:

Dreamweaver is site based, and it works on the assumption
that the site
folder is the server root. This was appropriate in the early
days of
Dreamweaver when sites were created with static HTML and
everything
needed to be in the server root. It's less convenient when
building
dynamic sites that rely on libraries located outside the
server root.
Several beta testers have urged Adobe to improve the site
definition
setup so that libraries outside the server root can be easily

Upload data from excel where one column has text of 3000 characters

I have a query. One of my requirments is to upload data from excel sheet & create a material. In the excel sheet one of the columns has text for BASIC DATA TEXT under ADDITIONAL DATA of a Material. This is a text of running length.
the selection screen has feature of file upload & the users will upload excel files from their respective presentation servers.
Now my problem is that I need a function module which can convert this column in excel sheet into an internal table & later call the BAPI for MM creation.
I have used TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP & when i read my internal table to check this column length, it shows only 255 characters where as data in the excel sheet has 3000 characters (say for eg.)
Can anybody throw some light on this.

You can try using this function module and see that whether all your data is coming into the internal table properly.

For the other part you needed to convert the internal table data into the structure as need by the BAPI and then call the create BAPI to create the materials in the SAP System.

Dreamweaver 8 has stopped updating links properly

I am using Dreamweaver 8 on a Mac to maintain our site (www.local-history.co.uk) which sits inside a folder labelled WWW on our ISP's server. Recently I've updated the design and coding of the site, and while I was building the new site I uploaded it to a folder called LHO inside the WWW folder so that I could see it live. LHO didn't appear in any of the paths on the site. I used 3 templates for the site which had links to CSS files using the path ../Multiflex/css/appropriateCSSfile.css. I created all the pages on the site using the templates and in all cases the paths were saved correctly, depending on whether the pages was in the root folder or in a sub-folder.
Once I was satisfied with the site, I uploaded it to the root folder on the server (WWW) and deleted the site in the LHO sub-folder. It all appeared to be working well, until I created 3 new news pages (one of which is www.local-history.co.uk/news/090511MuseumNights.html) and added links to them on the latest news page (www.local-history.co.uk/latestnews.html). I previewed the news page in a browser, Firefox, and it appeared fine, but when I previewed the latest news page and clicked the links to the news pages I had created, then it was obvious that the CSS code had not been applied. When I looked at the path to the CSS file which had been saved I found it was /Multiflex/css/appropriateCSSfile.css. When I uploaded the pages they appeared to be using the appropriate CSS code, although the top of the page graphic wasn't showing.
I can only assume that this is happening because I moved the site to the root folder WWW, but I don't understand why. If anyone has any advice about this I would be very grateful to hear from them!

You are being confused by a) not understanding root relative vs document
relative links, and b) not understanding how DW previews files.
If I have a document with a link to an image that looks like this -
<img src="/images/foo.gif"...
That's what's called a root relative link.
If I preview that document in DW, then the browser gets the document, sees
the leading "/" and reads that as the root of the hard drive, since the
browser has no idea where the root of the site is. Thus, the image is
broken in the preview.
If I have temp files enabled, then DW will secretly convert the file being
previewed into a temporary file, and hand that to the browser. This temp
file has had all root relative links converted to document relative links
(as you will see by looking at the code in the browser), and has had all
include files actually embedded in the page, and has had all external CSS
and js markup embedded in the page. In other words, DW has made the
document into a stand-alone page.
If you do not have temp files enabled, all of these links would be broken on
preview.
Now - if you are using root relative links, AND you have temp files enabled,
AND you click away from the previewed document, then all of your links will
be broken, since DW has not made that linked file into a temp file. This is
what you are seeing.
So - if you want to click away on preview, then you must use document
relative links for the site -
<img src="../images/foo.gif"... (for example)
These will still work on preview since the browser knows how to determine
the current file's location and how to follow that path.

Launch Dreamweaver CS4 from start menu.
What happens:
Does not load.

Has been working fine for past 3 days.
Errors occured today at random, without reason.
Reporting from a system that has been reformatted one week ago, fresh install of Windows Vista Ultimate with latest updates & service packs.
Dreamweaver CS4 installed along with the Master Suite Collection, other software function just fine.
System Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ 2.80 GHz
4.00 GB Memory (RAM)
500 GB Storage

Additional Notes:
I have had previous peril with Fireworks CS4 earlier this week crashing and had to take valuable time researching the problem. Happened to be one font out of three thousand that I have readily available for my needs. This new problem with Dreamweaver has further disappointed me and I need to use the software I purchased as soon as possible. I have taken the time to send in a bug report, as well as post this thread.
Please guide me in a safe & proper procedure to determine the cause of the crash. Thank you.

Check if external program (MS Excel) is active and has opened a particular file

I need to find some solution for next problem (Visual Studio 2010). I have a form with some buttons. Those buttons open Excel-files from a network share and the Excel-files are marked as shared (meaning they can be opened/edited by multiple users from different
computers at same time).
Anyway, when the user presses the button on the form, the file opens in Excel as expected. If he presses the button again, the file is opened again in a second Excel instance. I want to build in some check: if the file is already opened in an existing Excel
instance, that instance should become visible.
That's not all: there is a possibility the user already opened the Excel-file before he launched my application. If he then presses the button, the existing Excel-instance (with this particular file) must be shown.
Of course, the user can close his Excel file. So if he then presses the button, a new Excel instance should start up which opens the file.
How can this be done?
