Exchange Collaboration Room Calendar - problem sending appointment update

I can successfully initiate appointments in a collaboration room calendar that's connected to Exchange 2003. However, when I go back to an appointment created earlier and try to send an update, it successfully saves the update info in the  portal and exchange but fails to send out an update notification like when initiated. Is this how it's supposed to work? In my opinion, everything I send and update it should send an update notification to all attendees. Is this a bug or known problem? What is the solution? Please help.. URGENT. thanks a lot

maybe someone can help?

Hello, on our Exchange 2007 server, we have 6 room mailboxes, all setup exactly alike. One of the mailboxes started not responding to calendar requests. If I schedule a meeting, exchange does it's part, and sends out the invitation, but nothing shows in
the room calendar itself. Besides exporting the existing calendar entries and creating a new mailbox, is there anything I can try?

    Hi   n3lka
    Thank you for your question.
Owing to not respond, you can try to check the mailbox permission.
“nothing show in the room calendar itself”, you can make outlook in cache mode, then, you can try to uncheck option “Download share folders”.
There is a similar thread you can refer to by the following link:

when nothing shows in the room calendar itself, you can try to make another user schedule a meeting, if another user schedule a meeting successful, you can refer to the following link to solve it:

  • Exchange 2010 Room Calendar Permissions are too permissive when Default is set to None.

Help! Room Calendar permissions are too permissive when Default is set to None.
We are a brand new Exchange 2010 shop, and have setup several conference rooms.  Many of them are restricted to specific groups to book via In-Policy Requests using Resource Booking Attendant.  The Room Calendar permissions for most
rooms shows only two options for the Default access: None and Full Details.  Default is set to None, yet if someone opens the room calendar in Outlook (& they are not part of the In-Policy restrictions) they are able to see the full meeting details
(even open the meeting for full details).  How is this possible when by default they should not have any access as it is set to None?  Some rooms would not be a problem for clients to see the details, but some rooms like Executive rooms need to be
locked down so that others cannot see the room details - None.
I also found this, although it did not make a difference.  If I create an Outlook profile for the room and login as the room calendar in Outlook, go to File, Options, Calendar, Resource Scheduling, Set Permissions I get different default options:
None, "Free/Busy time", "Free/Busy time, subject, location" and Full Details.  Why do I have more options in this view rather than the Room Calendar Permissions?  I looked at two rooms and both Default options were set to "Free/Busy
time", so I changed these settings to None.  Still the clients can view the full room calendar details.  What are we missing to get the room calendar locked down so it is not displaying details to everyone?

Only the default groups and Exchange Admins have Full Access to these items, so that is not the issue.
-MailboxFolderPermission 1RP07AWest:\Calendar cmdlet and it shows the same access I see when I open the calendar in Outlook and view the Permissions as shown below - Default is set to None.
As I stated in my last reply the only thing that finally forced it to be blocked is changing the Resource Scheduling permissions under Options > Calendar for that room mailbox.  If I have to do that for each room calendar, it's going to
take considerable time to change each one.  Is there a cmdlet to allow me to access and change that setting as well?

  • Collaboration Room Calendar

Hello, been banging my head against a wall here and my eyes are blurry from reading docs and forum posts and everything.
We have Lotus Notes and we set our Systems up and connected to our Lotus server. If I just add the iview using my system alias to my user page I can see my calendar and everything works ok.
But in the Collaboration Room when I go to the calendar it tells me that the the e-mail server crendtials are wrong.
Anyone that can at least point me in the right direction??

Yes, it was really good, but I found out that I was exhausted when I came back thursday night.
The customer I am with at the moment doesn't use KM so I haven't explored it much.
But we're setting up a test system now in my company, so I probably will have lots of fun with it.
I did the web dynpro for expert session on day 3, and it was actually really interesting.
Now, I just got the have the time to do some blogging

  • Exchange 2013 - Shared Calendar problems

Since we put in Exchange 2013 in July 2013 we have had a problem with Shared Calendars.  Even though a User has Owner Permission on another Calendar, New Appointment is Grayed Out and the User cannot add or amend and occasionally Outlook will hang.
We have tried Outlook 2010 and 2013 Clients as well as Cached Mode and Online Access.  Exchange Server Standard 2013 CU2 was installed and this seemed to stop the problem for a while and now it has returned.
Permissions have been removed and reapplied both through the Exchange Powershell Interface and on the Mailbox.  All other aspects of the system seem fine.
    Any advice would be welcome.

    Hi,
Please check your application logs in your Exchange server. Confirm whether there are some error logs such as Event 9646.
It may because there are too many users connect to shared calendar at the same time that cause this issue. And there is a limit on the number of items that clients can open.
If so, we can change regedit
on the Exchange computer to resolve this issue. For more information, please click the following KB:

  • Collaboration Room Template problem with Roominformation iView

  • Coll. Room calendar performance

We've successfully configured the integration between the collaboration room calendar and Lotus Notes/Domino.  However, the performance is really slow.  After the calender iview is loaded, it seems to be ok, but the loading takes around 30 secs.  This is not acceptable to the users, so we are trying to figure out how to troubleshoot/improve the performance.  We are running 2004s, SP8.  If needed, I can supply the Notes versions, etc...  We just don't even know where to start to figure this out.  Can anyone using Notes calendaring in their rooms comment on the performance that they are seeing?  Thanks!

    Dear Jon:
    <P>
Clould you tell me or send documents of how to configured the integration between the collaboration room calendar and Lotus Notes/Domino.
<P>I already follow SAP help to set LDS-D,Lotus Transport and Calendar Repository Manager but it doesn't work!! The error message is "<b>The virtual path specified is incorrect</b>"

I am automating the process of sending appointment reminders to my clients. I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.
    Thank you in advance,
    Michael

Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.

  • Problems sending emails with iPhone 3G and outlook exchange

I have a problem sending email with exchange. Receiving and answering mail works fine and calender updates work fine. However when I initiate an email from the phone it syncs and ends up in the sent folder in the computer but never reaches the recipient. I have tried this many times with different recipients and phones. It only happens from my iphone and ipad. Any suggestions?
    Any help much appreciated

The iPhone you returned is still syncing against your server and locking out your account. Someone possibly has access to your mail data. I'd recommend having your Exchange Administrator install the Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync Web Administration Tool (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E6851D23-D145-4DBF-A2CC -E0B4C6301453&displaylang=en) and attempt to wipe/delete/block that other iPhone.

  • Exchange Admin Cannot View Full Room Calendar Permissions

We are a brand new Exchange 2010 SP3 (14.3 build 123.4) shop with Outlook 2010 (14.0.6112.5000), so no older versions of Exchange or Outlook exist in our environment.  I have full Exchange administration access to the system and Full Access to
    all room calendars.
If I open a room calendar in Outlook and view the Properties, Permissions the Default access only shows two Read options available: None and Full Details. Whereas if another Admin views the permissions it shows all four options.
So if Admin #2 views the room the Default access will show it has access to Free/Busy time, subject and location, but when I view the same room it shows Default as None since the other options are not available to me. So I am not getting a clear indication
of the real Default access nor can I set the correct access.  If I view it in PowerShell I can see the correct access.  I have cleared my Outlook cache and I am set in non-cached mode and I have even rebuilt my profile, and yet I still only see the
two options rather than all four. I can see all four options if I look at the permission of my own Outlook calendar, but if I look at any other calendar, person or room.  Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

    Hi,
According to your description, we understand that you have Full Access permission to all room calendars folder. If the Default calendar permission is set to Free/Busy time, you cannot view the exact Default permission. Instead, it shows None. It is normal
    phenomenon.
Based on my test, if the Default access permission of room calendar is set to reviewer or higher permission, you can view the
    corresponding permission in your Outlook.
I think the reason why Admin #2 can view the real default permission of room calendar is that Admin #2 may have full access permission to the room mailbox instead of room calendar. In other words, you can try to add full access permission to the room mailbox
for yourself to check whether the issue persists:
Add-MailboxPermission –Identity RoomA –User “Brit Whittington” –AccessRights FullAccess

    Hi Katharina,
    I would take a look under the node Server -> Log viewer... And then Cluster -> Server -> g:\usr\sap -> <instance name> -> j2ee\cluster\server0 -> log defaultTrace.trc
    (or something similar to that....)

  • Problem with collaboration rooms

    Hi all,
I have a prolem in collaboration rooms, After i create a room, i will get a link to enter the room. when i click on the link, i am able to enter the room but with an  error saying
<b>"No connection to groupware server (No logon data found for system lotussystem). Refresh this screen or contact your system administrator if the problem persists"</b>
Can anyone please help me why the error is??? and also what should be done for this.

    Kavitha,
Users should be mapped to appropriate systems through a user name and password.
In your case navigate to USer Management and enter an appropriate Username and password for the system lotussystem through the User mapping tab. The User name and password would be used to logon to the system.
    This should solve the problem.
