Exchange mail sync only when WIFI on

Hi ;
I have a problem in some mobiles devices in my company ,the mail exchange not sync when the mobile working on mobile data as 3G but when connected to wifi the mail is working good, everything is working done and OWA is fine ,but this problem is appear from
1 week ago , i tried remove the account and re add again but no good news , i need to help please..

Hi ,
Please check all the affected users are belongs to same mobile network. If so during that problem ,please try to browse the internet from their mobile devices. If that doesn't happen then it will be an problem which belongs to mobile network.Even though In
some cases i have seen that internet will work but Sync will not happen for the mobile devices which belongs to particular mobile network.
But the main condition we need to check is that affected user belongs to same mobile network or not.If they belongs to problematic mobile network ,please try to configure anyone of the affected user's mailbox on the some other mobile device which is having
other mobile network data connections.
Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham

  • Exchange Active Sync only when at Work?

I can only access exchange (activesync) when I'm at work --- and work prevents me from doing POP. On the other hand, when at home I cannot access exchange but I can access POP.
The iPod touch seems to get unhappy when I'm at home and exchange cannot be accessed. I'd like a way to associate certain email accounts with certain WiFi SSIDs --- or some other automatic method to active email accounts.
    Any solutions out there?
    Thanks!
    ... Altan

I would ask the IT department if Outlook Web Access and ActiveSync is available from the internet and if it is, what the public DNS name of the server is.
If you don't want to check with your IT department then I would check the server you defined. If you set it up at work, you may have set it up with the internal dns entry for the server (mailserver.domain.local). The public dns entry maybe something like mail.yourorg.com. Also, you may want to check to see if SSL is enabled or if disabling it will help you connect.
If you don't know the server name, you can use nslookup to try and find out. Directions are listed below.
    1. http://www.zoneedit.com/lookup.html
    2. enter your domain name this is usually the part after the @ in your email address
    3. Select Mail Server(MX)
    4. Click look it up.
    5. Try the server name with the lowest value.

  • Manual Exchange mail sync works but auto doesnt

    Hi
We have a problem with one of our iphone 4's. Weve got it set up to use an exchange account and it works fine, but only when you press the manual update button in the email or calendar window.
If you leave it to sync automatically then it doesn't work, you never get any new email. Go to the mail page, hit the update button to do a manual check, and you get email !
    Other iphones are fine here.
    Any ideas?
    Olly

Finally, finally got my first gen iphone to work properly with exchange for work email. I've tried most of the other solutions suggested by all these forum threads trying to address this issue. Hopefully, this will help some of you who have been frustrated by your iphone's inability to access work email! No server adjustments required!
My iphone exchange situation: calendar exchange worked, could send emails and see all my inbox folders but received "failed to connect to server" message when retrieving emails.
I have many folders in my email exchange inbox and many rules setup (e.g. if email from John Doe comes in move to John Doe folder).
First, I deleted my exchange account on the iphone so I could start from scratch. Then in Outlook, I had to move all emails from my inbox folder to another folder. I guess this somehow clears the pipes for the iphone/exchange communication to work.
Second, I recreated the exchange account on the iphone. Calendar sync worked like before. I sent a test email to myself using Outlook. Miraculously, the iphone retrieved it! In my previous 50 or so attempts this never worked.
But then I noticed when I tried to go into one of the folders where a rule was applied (e.g. move email to this folder if sent from John Doe) it would not retrieve email and I got the usual annoying "failed to connect to server" error message. I suspect you need to remove all rules created before setting up your iphone exchange account and then recreate the rules. So far, this has worked.
My co-workers (with 1st gen and 3g iphones) have applied these same steps with positive results. Hope this helps some of you who can't easily adjust your company's exchange server settings or can't get the IT folks to do it because they don't officially support the iphone. Enjoy!

  • Pages, Numbers & Keynote freeze selecting text only when wifi or cellular are on

Hello, I have iPad Air iOS 7.1, Pages, Numbers and Keynote 2.2. When I select text into a document of these apps don't respond during 2-5 second. Then I can see magnifier mini image freeze till popup menu emerge. This problem doesn't happen in other app like Notes, Safari and even in search option into iWorks app. Besides, when I select the whole paragraph, and magnifier doesn't emerge, it doesn't happen. Therefore, it seems the problem is magnifier animation, but only in iWork apps AND WIFI OR CELLULAR CONNECTION ARE ON. It is very annoying. I have this fail since I acquired iPad Air despite updates. I have reboot the device and restore it too. Then freeze time reduces but step by step using the device a few hours, the time increase. ONLY DISAPPEAR WHEN WIFI AND CELLULAR CONNECTION ARE OFF.
Please, could you check it in your devices in order to verify if the problem is these app programming and Apple must update them or it is my device and I have to request its exchange.
Technical support are been a bit slow confirming it at the same conditions,
    - same device - I think that differences about cellular capability or capacity shouldn't be important
    - same configuration - wifi and cellular off (then without freeze)/wifi or cellular on (then with freeze of several seconds)
    Thanks.

I already receive the technical support answer about this issue, they have tried on selecting text in iWork app within a few iPad Air alternating between wifi turn on and off and they haven't appreciated freezes in no case.
Then it seems that the problem is not related with iWork app but how the device works. However, before to apply for the exchange of it for other, I have pending the following proofs,
    - Restoring again the device, install only iWork app without restore backup and try on how it works turning on/off wifi and cellular connections in a new document. If that test fail would indicate the device is broken-down, if it works well would indicate the backup is the problem.
    - All the same, it could be other odder explanation, that is the freeze depends on the speed that the connection runs -technical support could has tried on it in fast one and mine is slower. This would be a bad news because would indicate that iWorks app finally are wrong programming - I remember that this fail not happen in other app- or worse, iWorks app could send information by selecting text - I don't know for what and toward where. I know that is a bit paranoid, therefore I hope I haven't to try it on. Besides, it only occur when magnifier appears as a consequence it is a rare interaction between graphics magnifier animation and connections behavior that point out the hardware is guilty, but why only in iWorks app!
I hope I find definitely a solution soon because I have already lost a lot of time. I will expose my conclusions.

  • Exchange Mail Sync and Battery Life (PLEAE HELP)

I looked through the threads and could not find an answer but did discover people are having issues with Mail sync for Exchange.
I have a N9 WITHOUT PR1.1 (does not show update is available)
Syncing to Small Business Exchange Server 2003
I am NOT having issues  being able to sync (contacts, mail, calendar) but no matter which sync schedule I choose, it always shows the phone trying to sync with the server. It will update sometimes but then immediatly go back to an active transfer and will just run until something new comes in. I have tried all the sync schedule settings and it will still always show an active sync transfer.
I am assuming there is a problem, as my battery died within 4 hours (without being used).
Does this make sense? Anyone else having this issue?

I too have had this problem with battery depletion. Phone is N9 64gb black, previously running Starhub version of firmware and updated to Central Europe OEM version, "DFL61_HARMATTAN_20.2011.40-4_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958_ARM.bin". Firmware updated with no issues and phone works great except for email. If I add an email account, "other" or "exchange", then phone gets mail and calendar on first sync but then hangs on subsequent syncs. Then the phone will not get mail or any other info from mail server and constantly checks or tries to sync. Eventually the battery is depleted by the middle of the day after beginning the day fully charged. The only way I could stop the active sync process is to delete the account or turn the phone off and back on again.

  • Mail Crashing only when opening Attachments

I have a friend on the white intel imac, 17" screen, all updated to 10.5.7. Her mail keeps crashing only when opening any email with attachments. I have delete the apple.com stuff and reloaded everything. So that is not the problem. Any other solutions ?

The upgrade to 10.5.7 results in a new version of Mail (version 3.6). It is possible that the upgrade process has resulted in a problem with Mail. To determine if the problem is machine wide or isolated to your current login, try creating another user account with the same permissions as that which you are currently using. Login to that account, open Mail, set up your email account, send yourself an email with an attachment and see when you open it without Mail crashing.
If it does crash then the problem is system wide and I recommend that you download the [Mac OS X 10.5.7 Combo Update|http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_7_ComboUpdate] and install that. It is a large file (730Mb).
If it does not crash then the issue is with the other user account rather than being system wide. A possible solution is to do the following:
    1. Open finder and Move the folder ~/Library/Mail to the desktop
    2. Launch Mail and re-create your email accounts.
    3. Import your old messages via the menu option "File" then "Import Mailboxes".
    4. Select "Mail for Mac OS X", click Continue.
    5. Select the Mail folder from the desktop and navigate to the folder Mailboxes within that folder then click Choose.
    6. You will be presented with a list of pre-selected items to import so click Continue and the import will proceed.
If that works and you can successfully open and view messages with attachments then you can delete the Mail folder that you moved to the desktop in step 1.

  • Exchange Mail Offline Problem when moving/deleting mails

    Hi there,
I am using the Apple Mail Program to connect to my corporate Microsoft Exchange Server. This work perfectly well (also with the calendar, tasks, etc.)
Mail also work s well while I am online.
When I work offline (I often travel in planes in trains) I can write emails, respond to mails and those will be synchronized without any problem when I am back online.
But the strange thins is that Mail sets back all changes in my inbox without any recognizable trigger. Meaning, I am moving emails from the inbox folder to other folders and/or deleting emails from my inbox. After switching from the inbox to another folder, or simply shortly to another program and then coming back, ALL moved and deleted emails show up again in the inbox. This is strange, because I am offline the whole time - thus the expanation that the server synch has changed everything back cannot be. At the same time, written emails stay in the outbox folder and remain there until I go online again.
I asked an apple employee at Genious Bar but he could help me. Another friend of me who uses another corporat Exchange Server experiences the same  problem. Can anyone help?

One thing that may help is to go to Mail Preferences, Accounts, and in your account under the Advanced tab select the check box for "Prompt me to skip messages over xxx kB" (where you indicate how many kB). This can reduce the download times by factors of 2 to 4 or more, depending on the size of the attachments.
I think the more specific control you are looking for that is analogous to what you can do on the iPhone and iPad might not be available on the computer versions of Mail.
Edit added: I just noticed that the above option is only available for POP accounts, but not for Exchange (IMAP) accounts, so unfortunately it may not apply to your account.

  • E1200 speed issue - only when wifi download from internet

    Hi,
I have a brand new E1200 router and I'm very disapointed with the speed I get.
The E1200 is connected to a Motorola SB6120 cable modem, connected to comcast.
I'm doing a couple of test using speedtest.net, and a couple of file transfers test between laptops on my network:
    1) Laptop ethernet connected directly to the SB6120 modem. Speeds are around 34Mbps Down, 6Mbps Up which is what I expect.
    2) Laptop ethernet connected to E1200, E1200 connected to SB6120. Speeds stays around the same (so far so good).
    3) Laptop connected to E1200 through wifi. Thats when I get issue: Speed Down <1Mbps, Up is still around 6Mbps.
    4) 1 Laptop, connected to E1200 through wifi, another laptop connected through ethernet. Transfer speeds about 48Mbps (thats about what I expect good). E1200 still connected to Modem.
    5) 2 laptops connected to E1200 through wifi, transfer speed about 25Mbps (half of the previous test, sound about right too). E1200 still connected to Modem.
    So basically:
    - Wifi to Wifi : Good
    - Wifi to Internal Ethernet: Good
    - Internal Ethernet to External Internet: Good
    - Wifi to External Internet: BAD
Before I return this router and try another one, what the h** is going on here ? I can understand bad wifi connection, but not in
    this manner.
I should mention that I see a lot of extra ARP traffic coming from the modem and Comcast network, but that's a fairly low rate (~10Kbps) and not a problem when I'm doing ethernet to internet speed tests, so I dont think thats the problem.
    Thanks.

Try to do the following steps:
A] With the help of Cisco Connect Software (if at all you have installed the router with the help of this software)
1] Open the software and go to the option which says "Router Settings"
2] Then click on the option which says "Advanced Settings" which will take you to the router's configuration page.
3] Lower the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) from 1500 to 1400 or less (usually found on your router's main/ basic setup page)
4] Then go to the Wireless tab, keep network mode as mixed,
For Channel Settings of 2.4 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 6, 9, 11..
For Channel Settings of 5 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 40 or 161...
B] If you haven't installed Cisco Connect then you can log on to the router's user interface using it's default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and type in 'admin' as the password leaving the username field blank. This will take you to the router's web interface and then follow steps as mentioned above to make the changes.
    Now check the connectivity status.

  • Outlook 2013 asks for credentials but does not connect for Exchange email, but only when out of office

    Hi,
New employee wishes to use his Office 365. Have loaded onto new PC, connected to exchange, loaded his folders, everything is fine.
When he leaves the office and connects at home, he is asked for credentials.
I have tried the usual credentials: [email protected] and domain\user
With each attempt, Outlook displays disconnected
The password is correct, OWA he can log on fine, he has no problem when returning to the office. He has all the correct permissions in AD.
No other user has a problem when away from the office, but every other user is using Office 2010
    Advice appreciated.

    Hi,
Please make sure the user has enable Outlook Anywhere in Outlook.
To turn on Outlook Anywhere, on the Connection tab, under
Outlook Anywhere, check Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP, and then click
Exchange Proxy Settings. Your Exchange admin must enable this feature and provide you the proxy settings. For more information, please refer:

  • Sync only when online

Hey guys...if I have all the latest updates...deleted and re-downloaded itunes....if I'm connected to the internet and attach my iPhone, no worries, it syncs away. If I'm not connected to the internet...it stays on the "sync in progress" and will not go any farther.
    WHAT THE HECK????
    Any ideas are always appreciated,
    thanks in advance,
    Dan

    Absolutely!
Each computer doesn't actually sync directly to another. All your syncing data is store in the cloud. So whenever you fire up Firefox, Sync will go see if anything new has changed there (or locally) and get your syncing data up to date.

  • Getting the iPhone to download Mail only over WiFi

    Hello All,
I was just wondering if there is a Way to get the iPhone 3G , to download mail messages only when it is on a WiFi Network (WLAN) and not over the 3G or EDGE (data) cellular network? Or is there a way to get the iPhone to download only mail headers?

    You're welcome.
When an iPhone is connected to an available wi-fi network, all data is uploaded/downloaded via the wi-fi network only so no data charges with your cellular provider applies when doing so. There is one exception and that is if your cellular provider supports the iPhone's visual voicemail feature. All visual voicemail is downloaded to the iPhone via the cellular data/internet network only, but the amount of data for each voicemail downloaded is small.
The iPhone is designed to always have an internet connection as long as there is a wi-fi network available that you have access to, or cellular reception. The iPhone switches from an available wi-fi network to the cellular network and back again automatically and seamlessly. When you leave the range of an available wi-fi network that you have access to, the iPhone will switch to the cellular network for internet access automatically. When you are within range of an available wi-fi network that you have access to, the iPhone will switch to the wi-fi network automatically. This is done in both directions with no prompt or warning.
The iPhone does include an Ask to Join Networks option - for available wi-fi networks that you want to join. I have this option turned off since I was constantly prompted to join an available wi-fi network anytime my iPhone was in range of an available wi-fi network I don't have access to or want to join. After you have successfully joined an available wi-fi network, the network settings are saved on your iPhone. When returning within range of such a wi-fi network, your iPhone will automatically connect to the wi-fi network without any prompt - as long as you have wi-fi access turned on.
The iPhone will always connect to the fastest available network first. When in range of an available wi-fi network that you have access to and have previously joined, the iPhone will automatically connect to the wi-fi network. When leaving the range of an available wi-fi network that you have access to, the iPhone will switch to the 3G network if available. If not, the iPhone will switch to the EDGE network if available, followed by switching to the GPRS network (which is the slowest cellular data connection) if 3G and EDGE access is not available. All this is done without any prompt - automatically and seamlessly.
Regarding tracking data uploaded and downloaded via the cellular network, the iPhone includes this under the Usage section, which can be reset at any time such as when your billing cycle starts.

  • Exchange mail not recognized

I put in the server, user name, password in setup but still no mail.
I also went back, deleted the account, and from the "info" menu of the iPhone screen, went to the bottom of the page and selected "advanced" "replace information on this iPhone' hoping it would create the account for me and sync. No help either. Went back added account and tried to use the "advanced" selection again. No help.
    Thanks in advance.

The Exchange sync is now working for me against our corporate Exchange 2003 server, but it took a bit of trying to get it to go. Here's what I found I needed to do:
    1. I had to call my corporate helpdesk to have them enable my account for remote access (aka, to let it use ActiveSync). Apparently ActiveSync isn't allowed by default in our system. Of course, I have no idea how paranoid your Exchange admins are compared to mine, but it might be worth a phone call.
    2. The "Exchange server" you need to enter isn't necessarily your mail server--it's the server where ActiveSync is running. In my case, my Mac's Entourage setup hits my real Exchange mail server and when I tried to put that same server name into the iPhone, it didn't work; however, as it turns out, that's not the server where we run ActiveSync. I found out that my company runs ActiveSync on our publicly facing Outlook Web Access server (http://outlook.companyname.com). The good news for me is that now my corporate email is available from anywhere since it's based on the publicaly-facing OWA server, versus the "real" Exchange server that's behind a few layers of firewall and requires a VPN to get to from outside of work. Again, I have no idea where your company runs ActiveSync, but try your externally facing OWA server instead of your mail server.

  • Exchange mail setup

I've an Iphone an Ipad which both connect perfectly with my exchange mail account. When I use the same account details when setting up a mail account my new Airbook (on Lion) can't connect to the server.
I see one different field in the Ipad/Iphone set up process compared to te mail setup of the Airbook. On the Ipad I can define a 'domain'  .. on the MacAir that is on an option.
What is the sollution to tackle this?

    Hi Paul,
I replied to a post from you in another thread. It's easy to miss though, so here's what I said:
"You should tell mail2web that there is an option in Exchange to hide public folders from IMAP clients. I'm an IT manager at a large software company with 50% of our users on Macs. We turned on the option to hide public folders from IMAP clients a while ago, long before the iPhone. It's worked very well and continues to work for iPhone people (like me!).
There was no reason for us to make public folders viewable via IMAP, so hopefully the same will be true for mail2web."
I'm actually really glad that Apple made this change. I want to see most of the folders at the inbox level in Exchange and with the Exchange switch turned on to hide public folders, there's no downside.
    Regards,
    fh

  • Exchange email will only sync over WiFi on iPhone 6

    Hello.
We use iPhones with our Exchange 2010 SP3 servers for email through activesync.
We've recently bought three iPhone 6 handsets and have set them up in exactly the same way as before - we have a mobileconfig file that runs users through the setup.
On one of them email will only sync correctly when the user is in our office and connected to our internal WiFi.
When he's using a 3g connection no new emails are delivered, though he doesn't get any error messages - it appears to sync ok, as though there are no new emails for him. Reconnect to our WiFi and email flows as normal.
I don't believe we have any DNS issues as email is working just fine for everyone else in and out of our network.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour, and ideally fixed it?
    Thanks

I had this exact same problem with Email that would only sync while on company's internal wifi for my iphone 6, despite it working perfectly with my other device.  Checked the settings on both devices and they were all the same.  While looking online for a fix I noticed there are a lot of people with this issue, unfortunately none of the "fixes" worked for me.
Originally I had my iPhone 6 setup to match the settings on my iPad with the server name "exchange.company.com".  This gave me all the check marks as expected, but it wouldn't update unless on internal wifi.  I was able to get my iphone 6 working by adjusting the server name in the account settings.  After I adjusted the server name to be "outlook.company.com", I got the same checkmarks and my email is now working perfectly.
Not sure why it is different between the two devices but since it has solved my issue I will ignore that portion.  Hope this helps.

  • After IOS8 upgrade IPhone5s syncs with exchange but IPad2 syncs ONLY Mail and Contacts, NOT Calendar.  Totally stumped. Ideas anyone?

After IOS8 upgrade IPhone5s syncs with exchange but IPad2 syncs ONLY Mail and Contacts, NOT Calendar.
Also, my other tablet - Samsung TabS - has same issue - calendar wont sync. My IPhone and my desktop (windows) synch just fine.
Google calendar syncs on all devices. Totally stumped. Ideas anyone?
    THANKS

    1.      Log onto Outlook Web Access
    2.      Top right hand part of the screen select "Options"
    3.     Select "See All Options"
    4.      Select "Phone" menu
Check if you have 10 Devices registered.
If you have, you need to delete one of them to add your new Smart Phone to Exchange for synching
Check the "Last Sync Time" to indicate if this device is still active or not.
