Capturing Excise Invoice Reference at Depot
Hi,
We are doing an implementation where the customer is currently working in a home grown software.
During Go-Live, we need to capture/upload the Excise Invoice reference of the existing Excisable Stock lying at the Depot.
We are uploading cutover stock of all materials programmatically using MB1C transaction. But while uploading Depot Stock, we also need to capture the receiving Excise Invoice number (through which the goods had arrived at the Depot from the Mother Manufacturing Plant), so that during sales from Depot we can pass the excise using J1IJ.
We have tried the following steps and failed:
1. Upload inventory for the materials at the depot plant using MB1C.
2. Using the material document created above, we tried to perform J1IG. (We got stuck here).
Please suggest the correct process to upload the cutover stock at Depot along with it's excise invoice reference.
Regards,
DebarshiHi Ashok,
After MB1C, when we are trying to execute J1IG with the material document number and then click "Details" button, the new screen asks for internal document number. We click on "More Documents" and manually enter the excise values along with excise invoice details and save.
This reflects the values in the RG23D and displays in J1IDEPOTSTOCK1 report also.
But when we try to sell from the Depot and create J1IJ, the uploaded invoice is not getting displayed when we are trying to select it to pass excise value.
How can this invoice be selected in J1IJ, if we follow this route.
Is this the correct process or I am making some mistake in the J1IG step.
Regards,
Debarshi -

Excise invoice for price difference required with material code
Hi
In my scenario, we have charged less amount to customer at the time of sales.
For ex: Sales order was prepared for Rs.10000 and relevant excise duty was (@ 10% was charged). We did delivery and billing. We issued excise invoice as per Rs.10000 and relevant excise duty on it.
But actual basic price is 10100. We will charge Rs.100 and we have to charge relevant excise duty on it. However there will be no material movement.
1st i posted Debit note to customer with FB70 with following entry:
Customer A/c.. Dr 110 (100 + 10% excise)
To Sales A/c 100
To Excise Paid A/c 10
Then i went to J1IH and gave FB70 document reference. Following entry was posted
Excise Paid A/c... Dr 10 (This amount i gave manually which is OK)
To Excise Duty Receivable 10
Now my doubts:
1. How to credit Excise Duty Payable in J1IH. Which transaction type i need to check for it (DIEX or OTH, etc)
2. How should i take print of excise invoice (for above J1IH). My material number should also get printed on invoice. But i am not specifying any material in J1IH
3. 2. Can i create separate transaction type and then use it to J1IH. If yes then how to create and assignHi Tanveer
I did following steps based on you input
VA01 - Created Debit Memo no. 3
VF01 - Billing Number: 130012001 and accounting document number: 100000248.
J1IS - Clicked on create icon. Entered billing number 130012001, transaction type as OTHR and other CIN related details.
It went to next screen. In that screen manually gave material code, units assesable value, chapter id, Basic Ex duty, Ecess and SHEC.
After giving it gave prompt: Excise Duty will be recalculated. I clicked on YES.
Entire line item got deleted and nothing happened.
Please help how to proceed in J1IS with above mentioned data. Which all field needs to be filled in J1IS.
Please help.

Supplementary excise invoice and printout of this new excise invoice
hi
i have an issue when i transfer goods from my factory to depot plant.. based price for Excise duties calculation is let's say 100 INR/kg
market price increase and now.final customer is ready to pay 130 Inr/kg from my depot
i need legally to trigger supplementary excise invoice for the 30Inr/kg balance.
J1IH could help me..but it need to printout an supplementary excise invoice form (more or less on the same format than my initial excise invoice form).
J1IH will not allow me to raise this form ..... if i use a debit note...i can"t raise excise invoice as well thru J1IIN coz system do not allow me to create excise invoice without delivey reference.
So what to do....to have this supplementary excise invoice in the system in one hand and and a way to issue a new form for my 30INR/kg in the other hand ???
Thanks for your help
Best regardsFor Depot Price increase scenario, J1IH should not be executed. Check this thread so that you will have an idea

Excise Invoice for Partly Returned Quantity
Dear Experts,
My Client is into Trading of Goods & we are updating RG23D register for Purchases & Sales.
After Delivery we create Excise Invoice with T-Code J1IJ & extract & print it thru J2I5 7 J2I6.
In past in case of Returns we simple used to cancel the entire Excise Invoice.
But now I have a scenario, where we sold 10 Tons of material to Customer & issued Excise Invoice against the same. But the Customer has returned only 2 tons out of the total 10 tons.
Please suggest how to cancel Excise Invoice for part quantity.
Thanks,
Jignesh Mehta. Please suggest how to cancel Excise Invoice for part quantity.
Dear Jignesh - you should not cancel the excise invoice for returns. You should always use J1IH for making the following excise adjustments.
Customer Credit
Choose the Additional excise input the original excise invoice reference, document year, company code, plant and excise group and execute. There input manually what value you need to give credit and save.
Excise Debit
Choose Other Adjustment and here also, maintain the datas whatever you input as above and save.

Excise Invoice posted as Capital goods, but material is a raw material
All SAP Gurus,
J1ID data wrongly uploaded as Consumable instead of Raw material.
Due to this excise invoices for these materials got captured and posted in RG23C register in place of RG23A register.
(Material document can not be reversed as material is already consumed.)
How these entries in RG23C/RG23A entries can be corrected?

Problem in Capturing & Posting Excise Invoice
Dear Experts,
As my client is facing problem to post Excise Invoice.
User has done Import PO, Invoice Verification for custom duties(BOE) and GRN. When i am going to capture excise invoice reference with Material Document i found that Part I entry is already created but Internal Number and Year showing Zero i.e.not generated.
User already dispatched material so we cant cancel GRN and update RG23A Part I entry through J1I5. Now i need to Post excise invoice but i dont have Vendor Excise Invoice and Internal Excise Invoice Number. Please tell me procedure that how to Update RG23A Part II entry.
Immediate reply appreciated.
Sachi,
there seems to be some problem at the time of GR.
Since Part1 has been created , its a bit difficult to take part1 because as u told internal no. & year is bank.
How ever you can folow one of the paths below to serve your purpose of cenvat credit availament.
1. Capture against GRN -J1IEX and save. Check whether part1 link is available with the ID.
If not take the credit through J1IH->additional Excise & give ID no. as reference doc no there.
2. If Part1 tab is present after creation of ID but credit available is zero, try changing the material type & saving the ID which will trigger A part1 cancellation so that correct part1 can be done later & credit can be availed through j1iex itself.
These steps may involve a solution other possibility which is always open is debug but thats not suggested. -
Dear SD Gurus,
This scenario is related to Return Order - Excise Invoice. In return order first we will create return Order (with Ref. to Billing Document) - Return Delivery- Billing.
Now I require clarification on Excise Invoice returns. How to cancel the Excise Invoice especially in Return Order.
My Client Requirement is as follows.
I raised normal order of 10 items, Delivery, billing, Excise invoice and Updated in RG1 also. Now the question is if the same order came as return of 2 items. I can raise the return order with ref. to the above order. I can handle up to billing. But my point is how to cancel the Excise invoice and Updated RG1 for the 2 items (Which was returned).Hi,
Follow the same process like return sales, once u get the billing doc, go to J1IH, create with ref to the billing doc.
the excise valuess will be reversed.
To give customer credit, choose Additional excise so that you will have the option of Modvat Account Selection at the bottom screen. Choose whichever account you want to be adjusted and proceed.
Similarly, for debiting cenvat entries, choose Other Adjustment and here again, you have the option as to which book account the amounts should be debited. Choose the appropriate one from Modvat Account Selection tab and proceed.
If you are not sure and clear on the above explanation, please sit with FI consultants and proceed.
Return Sales Flow:
Incase of Return Sales Order:
T.Code for copy control: VTAF
Source Document: F2
Target Document: RE
Item category REN
Considering the above settings are done:
Create return sales order RE (with Reference to Billing Document) & the data will be copied as it is in Return Sales Order - RE. For Eg: here you require to change to quantity from 10 to 2, as you want to take back into Inventory of only 2.
Incase of Return Delivery:
T.Code for copy control: VTLA
Source Document: RE
Target Document: LR
Item category REN
Considering the above settings are done:
Create Return Delivery through T.Code VL01N & do PGR (Post Goods Receipt). This will add the stock to blocked stock. This will take care of Inventory.
For updating of excise related sales returns, run T.Code J1IH and do the following:-
Customer Credit
Choose the u2018Additional Exciseu2019 input the original excise invoice reference, document year, company code, plant and excise group and execute. There input manually what value you need to give credit and save.
Cenvat Debit
Choose u2018Other Adjustmentsu2019 and here also, maintain the datas whatever you input as above and save.
Incase of Credit Memo:
T.Code for copy control: VTFA
Source Document: RE
Target Document: Credit Memo
Item category G2N (Check in System)
First in VA02, remove the Billing Block in Return Sales Order - RE & save the document. Now in T.Code: VF01, enter Return Sales Order Number & select the appropriate Billing Type (Credit Memo) & Enter& Save. This will create Credit Memo.

What are options available to cancel the Excise Invoice?
Hi,
What are options available to cancel the Excise Invoice?
Does cancelling the commercial invoice automatically cancels the excise invoice
if not what are the other options?
Any settings required to achieve that.
Usefull answers will be rewarded
Thanks
RegardsDear Rajiv
No cancelling commercial invoice will not cancel the excise invoice in background. For that, you need to run the T.Code J1IH where if you click on Cancel Excise Invoice, system will ask for excise invoice reference, financial year and series group. Here while giving the excise invoice number, you have to ensure that it is preceded with zeroes as you can see in J1I7.
thanks
