Executing ECATT programmatically with parameters

Hi
I want to use the ECATT_EXECUTE function module to run the ECATT test scripts. How to pass the parameters of the script to this FM (without creating a variant or uploading a file)? My program will feed the parameters.
Could anyone help me in this regard?

I'm a fan of Java code, I really am.
But when you use ADF, you decided to move to a more declarative environment.
So why not do it declarative, the adf way?
In your pagedef insert a action binding.
This can be anything, a call to the application module, a call on the iterator(Like executeWithparams, etc.)
Create an invokeAction in your pagedef and set the condition.
This example refreshes(Action 2 is execute query) the data.
First the method binding:
    <action IterBinding="PersoonIterator" id="Execute" InstanceName="LSAppModuleDataControl.Persoon"
            DataControl="LSAppModuleDataControl" RequiresUpdateModel="true" Action="2"/>And the invoke action

PS Yes I know that pagedefs become backing beans in the end and yes that is Java code, but if you wanna play the ADF way, the goal is the reduction of Java code and the increased performance of declarative programming.

I am in need to write all Logon, Logoff and Logon fail data onto the Windows Application Log. To do this I already tried various solutions but with my configuration (Oracle EE 10.2.0.4 and Windows Server 2003 R2 X64) the only possible solution (apparently) is the following.
I create a Table with the info I need:

The I create a trigger that starts every time something is written on the table.
This trigger needs to start an EXE file that writes the latest data written on the table into the Windows Application Log.
So I need a trigger that executes my WRITELOG.EXE file adding the parameters. For example:
Execute WRITELOG.EXE event sid orario username
So my program will write a Log in Windows with this data:
Event: LOGON
Sid: 2938473
Orario: 12/12/2011 11:45:32
Username: Scott
And so on.
I already have the program that does this, I need to execute the program with the right data directly from trigger or from a procedure executed by my trigger.

The java and PL/SQL you need to set up is in the very first response in the link. (I don't have a windows Oracle DB DBMS_JAVA to try it myself). Change the UNIX command '/usr/bin/ls' to your Windows command 'c:\yourdirectory\FILE.EXE'. Assuming you created everything and set permissions as Tom describes (later in the thread), your PL/SQL call in your trigger might look something like this:

Since you want to log what the trigger is writing to the table, you can call the executable with the same information you are writing, instead of writing then reading it back out again.

How to call an eCATT programmatically with import parameters

Hi there,
I am using function module ECATT_EXECUTE to call test scripts from within ABAP test code, like below. Unfortunately, I am not able to pass my actual import parameter values. It seems that the interface does not provide a way to pass import parameters to the eCATT.
Although posted in November, this is still an issue for me. Does anybody know an answer?

direct passover would be fine - well, I've come to get used to finding workarounds in SAP though. Maybe, the function module will support the missing parameters in some forthcoming release.
Btw I switched over to tables ECTC_VAR / ECTC_DATA and pass obj_type = 'ECTC' to ECATT_EXECUTE, since test configurations can directly be executed.
You don't happen to know what has to be done, if the call of ECATT_EXECUTE results in a dump? After correctly executing the test configuration. Looks like eCatt tries to put the resulting log to nowhere. Perhaps I have to initialize some kind of a log receiver first or set some option in the start profile? I passed DISPLAY_LOG = SPACE, and SUPPRESS_OUTPUT = 'X'.

How to find exact query executed by reports with parameters

I am running a report which errors out with below log messages.
REP-0004: Warning: Unable to open user preference file.
REP-0300: ORACLE error occurred.
REP-0069: Internal error
REP-57054: In-process job terminated:Terminated with error:
REP-300: ORACLE error occurred.
In toad, the query is not giving any error message.
I want to know what exact query is being executed by oracle report server.
How can I find exact query executed?

I had already tried to enable trace. But when I enable trace, report builder crashes!!
I created SR also, and oracle says that they do not support 10.1.2.0.2. I should update to 10.1.2.3.
I installed the 10.1.2.0.2 in xp mode and tried to update with 10.1.2.3. However, the updgrade failed saying that there is no update patch required/found or something like that.

Calling Stored procedure with Parameters in PowerPivot DataModel

Hi All,
I wanted to call a SQL stored procedure from PowerPivot(Excel) on based on changing slicer's value.
Currently, we can call stored procedure wihtout any parameter from Data Model tab using
Exec stored_proc_name in Table Properties window.
What if I want to call the same procedure with a parameter whouse value will come by changing slicer's value. I meant, changing slicer value will act as a parameter to that stored procedure & it should return updated results.

According to your description, you call a SQL Server stored procedure in PowerPivot data model, now the problem is that you need to pass a parameter to the stored procedure, right?

I can't understand how to execute application or bat file (javac.exe for example) WITH parameters correctly.
I can execute javac.exe or bat file - WITHOUT parameters :
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(WIN_PATH + " " + WIN_FLAG + " " + "javac.exe");
But I can't execute correctly the command like:
"javac.exe -classpath C:\Alex; Test.java"
I tried to use exec(str,env[]) and exec(cmd[]) methods, but there were different errors as a result :(((
How can I execute the command "javac.exe -classpath C:\Alex; Test.java" ? Is it possible?
Please help me by a good idea.

Error with Project Parameters when executing the package with dtexec command

We have started migrating our SSIS package from 2005 version to SSIS 2012. In SSIS 2005 we were using XML configuration files and executing the packages with dtexec command from the packages folder (without deploying packages to filesystem).
Now in SSIS 2012, we have seen Project Parameters and created couple of package parameters and used those parameters in the package. when executing this package from solution explorer it was working fine but when i try to execute the same package from command
line with Dtexec command, it was showing an error message of 'Not able to map Project Prameters to configurations'.
Could you please give me an idea of how to execute the packages from command line by using dtexex command. basically i would like use project parameters in 2012 similar to configurations?

Just to inform you that I've found a solution when you need to apply variables as a parameter:
preserveSingleQuotes(vFileName)
preserveSingleQuotes function will keep the string like this 'dadsadsad' and so, you can use it inside your functions, procedures, etc..

Found this program RPT_ECATT_EXECUTE_TEST to execute eCATT Test Scripts in the background. However, when i try to run a TCD test script in the background, im getting a "Control Framework: Fatal error - GUI cannot be reached" error in the job log.
Is there a workaround for this?

If the recording is done using SAPGUI , here is the solution .
Say there are 3 radio buttons.
First time record with only one radio button clicked , complete the entire recording and save the script.
Split the recording using Methode wise, once this done you will have one SAPGUI for each operation performed.
Reopen the script in the change mode and also open the transaction screen where you want to record the remaining radio buttons.
Do a SAPGUI attach twice once for each radio button after the SAPGUI of the first radio button .
Once all the recoding is complete.
Declare 3 different input parameters (basically 3 flags), one for each radio button.
Note: SAPGUI recording is done only for checking the radio button and not unchecking.
IF ( input_parameter_radio_button_1 = 'x' ).
SAPGUI ( first radio button).
endif.
IF ( input_parameter_radio_button_2 = 'x' ).
SAPGUI ( second radio button).
endif.
Similarly for the third one.

Calling stored procedures with parameters with the Database Connectivity Toolkit

I am new to the forum and am having difficulty finding a solution to a particular problem I am having regarding using the LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit on a project I am currently working on at my job. I have a database in which I have tables and stored procedures with parameters. Some of these stored procedures have input, output, and return parameters.

One such stored procedure I am working on implementing is named "dbo.getAllowablePNs", which executes "SELECT * from DeviceType" (DeviceType is the table). In this case, it does not require an input parameter, it has an output parameter that generates the table [cluster], and has a return parameter which returns an integer value (execution status code) to show if an error occurred. The DeviceType table has 3 columns; ID (PK, int, not null), PN (nvarchar(15), null), and NumMACAddresses (int, null). I have gone over many examples and have talking to NI support to try to implement this and similar stored procedures in LabVIEW but have not been successful. I am able to connect to the database with the Open Connection VI without error, but am running into some confusion following this step. I am then trying to use the Create Parameterized Query VI to call the stored procedure and set the parameters. I assume I would then use the Set Parameter Value VI for each parameter that is wired into the parameters input on the previous Parameterized Query VI? I am also having some confusion during and following these steps as well. I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions anyone might have in regards to this situation as I am not a SQL expert. Also, I would be happy to provide any more information that would be helpful.

Discoverer report with parameters and functions

I am new to Discoverer. Is there a way to create a report (with parameters) of one line per customer such that the following data will be displayed for each customer?
Among the parameters is: from_date (month & year) ,to_date
The basic query gives totals for each date (month & year) for every customer.
Among the fields displayed:
1-customer_id,
2-balance until from_date,
3-total activity between from_date and to_date
I have a function to calculate the total balance until from_date, but then I cannot get the total activity on the same line. I tried using another function and I tried using a total calculation but to no success.
Is this possible?

Hi Markus
You need to determine whether you can in fact call a Discoverer report using a URL before linking it in Portal. You need to run the report in Viewer first and then see copy the URL from the address line of the browser. Then you open another browser and paste the URL. You may well be prompted for a username and password but hopefully the correct report with the right parameters will then execute.
Assuming this works you then paste the same URL link into Portal and you should be able to get the report to run.

I have a situation where I need to call AM method (setDefaultSubInv) from Managed bean, under Value change Listner method. Here is what I am doing, I have added AM method on to the page bindings, then in bean calling this

This works and able to call this method if there are no parameters. Say I have to pass a parameter to AM method setDefaultSubInv(String a), i tried calling this from the bean but throws an error
