Exhange email servers

I have an iPad and I wish it to add my Exchange email account. Because I access email in a remote location, I use WiFi with a satellite service provider (Hughes). So, my incoming mail server is my company and I know its name. But my outgoing mail server is a different one. It is a Hughes outgoing server with different names and passwords etc from my office server. I cannot figure out how to get the iPad to ask the same thing for both servers. I assume I have to authenticate both incoming and outgoing servers. I cannot find where you have a POP3 and a STMP with different information. HELP

This has been posted on Crackberry as well.  Since the 2.0.1.358 os upgrade, pb users on corporate exhange servers have been experiencing issues with multiple email sends each time a message is posted.  A red X is diplayed when the message is sent, then a few seconds later a second message is displayed as sent.  Not always consistent.  If the X is deleted immediately, some users report that only one message is sent.  It seems that messagae are being held in the outbox and some reports are that message sends repeat until the X is deleted.
All pb's on our network are showing the same symptoms since the upgrade.  Users of other tablets (eg Ipad, Samsumg) on the same server  are not having this problem.
This is a very annoying problem for pb users and all email recipients that are receiving mulitple repetitive emails.

  • Multiple email servers one domain

    Probably a silly question.
I'd like to set up two email servers in my domain to receive mail for our company.  I want one server to be the main server with all the user accounts and the other to be a back up store and forward server.  When mail comes in, and the main server with user accounts is down, then I'd like the store and forward server to collect all email for our users and then forward it on when the main server comes back up.
So, I've set up two servers in my DNS with different preferences in their MX records - server1.mydomain.com with an preference of 10 in it's MX record.  server2.mydomain.com with 20 in it's MX record.  server1 is where all user accounts are located.
Now presume that server1 is down.  Sending servers will query my DNS records, find out server1 is the preferred server discover it's not there and go to server2.  If the email received by server2 has a user for this domain that is not located on this server, how does it know where to forward it and how do I set that up so I also don't have an open relay?
    Thx.

    Bonjour
A iweb site is just a folder (SiteName folder). So you can have several folders in your server.
in iWeb sidebar, you can have several Sites like:
    . SiteName1
    . SiteName2
    . SiteName3
if you publish your iWebsites to the same FTP server
you will have URL like this
    SiteName1 ---> http://www.yourdomainname.com/SiteName1/ or http://www.yourdomainname.com/
    SiteName2 ---> http://www.yourdomainname.com/SiteName2/
    SiteName3 ---> http://www.yourdomainname.com/SiteName3/
You don't need subdomain. but you can use the SiteName folders created by iWeb to make some subdomains
    SiteName1 ---> http://www.yourdomainname.com/ (it is not a subdomain)
    SiteName2 ---> http://SiteName2.yourdomainname.com/
    SiteName3 ---> http://SiteName3.yourdomainname.com/

  • Mirrored Synchronized Email Servers (multiple sites)

I have several offices with different connections. I would like to set up email servers that mirror each other at two offices with one as the primary MX record and the second as my secondary MX record to maximize availability to remote clients. Setting up the email servers is one thing, but how can I ensure they are synchronized? If the primary MX goes down email should route to the secondary until the primary comes back up. Ideally I'd also like to sync iCal and Address Book.
    Thanks for any assistance.

    1.  It is certainly feasible.  It won't by itself achieve what you are after, but it can be part of the solution.
    2.  If Site A goes offline and all databases are mounted in Site B, then if you configure everything properly, mail would route out through Site B.  Unfortunately for your request, there is no such thing as link state routing anymore, so Exchange
won't automatically reroute mail in exactly the fashion you have in mind.
    3.  No.

  • Are the Email servers down, I am unable to access new mail.

Are the email servers down? I am unable to retrieve my mail from either on-line or the local mail app.

Still down; about 24 hours now.  The Apple Rep I spoke to yesterday said they were HOPING to get them back up within 24 hours, but didn't want to promise that.
I've moved all my contact info over to gmail.

  • Know of any email servers for MS Server 2000?

I'm deploying (wish me luck!) my JSC application with JavaMail on a MS Server 2000 box. A little googling led me to Pegasus Mail's Mercury which I've tested and Apache James which I haven't.
What email servers do you use?

When you said "container" are you talking about our web applications or the mail boxes container?
Well, I will respond to both:
    Web Applications:
Im testing and suffering the deployment of applications on Tomcat 5, Oracle iAS 9.0.2 & 9.0.4 and Sun's PE 8 (this is the first container of course).
    Mail Boxes and spool:
Im putting the Jamess mailboxes and spool on Oracle 8.1.7 instance.

  • Versamail issue - unable to connect to sbcglobal email servers

I am attempting to access my sbcglobal email account. I believe I have everything set up correctly, but I continue to receive the following error message: "There is a delay in server communication causing a timeout. Please try again." It appears that I am connecting to the mail server successfully, but I don't get any farther than that. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?
    Post relates to: Palm TX

I recall SBC/Yahoo DSL recently changed the port settings for their email servers. Check the website and make sure you have the correct ones set in VersaMail.

  • BT Email servers limiting messages

My email server is with my host (although I'm with BT as ISP). Recently when sending single emails to BT email addresses, BTInternet and BTWorld I get a message from my host server that the message is delayed, reason "too many emails". From their logs my host says BT are limiting their emails.
"The technical departement  checked the mail logs and found out  this.
BT are are rate limiting mails from our servers
But our servers will try to send upto 30 times."
Is this congestion on the BT email servers a temporary problem?

I have flagged this issue up with the mods.
In the mean time you can login via http://mail.yahoo.com or via http://bt.yahoo.com/ with your BT email address and password.

  • Trouble with connecting to my email servers

    Hi,
I just bought my Macbook in March and it's great
But, all of the sudden, my Mail program has been acting up. It won't connect to my email servers on the first try. After about 5 or 6 tries, it will connect.
I get the triangle with the exclamation mark symbol, and when I click that, I get this message:
It isn't my email server, I don't think, because it checks perfectly fine in Outlook on my Windows PC.
It has also worked fine until today.
Thanks in advance for any help!
    13" Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.9) 2 GHZ Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, 80 GB HD

Any difference when deselecting "Use SSL" to turn it off for the incoming mail server which is available under the Advanced tab for the account preferences?

  • Mac email servers blacklisted

I am having trouble sending email from my mac.com address to my work address. The emails were found by my IT support desk and they were rejected as having come from blacklisted servers that belong to apple. The servers involved are:
    17.148.16.98
    17.148.16.99
    17.148.16.100
    17.148.16.102
    17.148.16.105
They are blacklisted at LASHBACK and SORBS-SPAM plus one or two others.
Is this something that Apple works to resolve?

So I am seeing the Blacklist problem now as well. Seems several Blacklist lists are now listing some (not all) of Apple's email servers as having issues, and as such, some people I email to are not getting my email, and it bounces.
    For example:
    blacklist:17.148.16.104 and blacklist:17.148.16.105
    SORBS-SPAM LISTED
    LASHBACK LISTED
    Backscatterer.org LISTED
    Yes, these do not:
    17.148.16.98
    17.148.16.99
    17.148.16.100
    17.148.16.102
Is there a way I can choose which server I use?
Seems odd that someone would list Apple email, but that is the case.
This is what backscatterer.org claims about some Apple servers:
    Testresult for 17.148.16.104:
This IP IS CURRENTLY LISTED in our Database.
Please note that this listing does not mean you are a spammer, it means your mailsystem is either poorly configured or it is using abusive techniques.
This kind of abuse is known as BACKSCATTER (Misdirected Bounces or Misdirected Autoresponders or Sender Callouts). Click the links above to get clue how and why to stop that kind of abuse.
To track down what happened investigate your smtplogs near 17.12.2010 12:03 CET +/-1 minute.
I wonder if Apple even cares?

  • It looks like the email servers are down.

It looks like the email servers are down, I am unable to retrieve my mail from either on-line or the local mail app. Is there an Apple Rep that can give us an ETA for the mail service to come back on-line?

Yep, me too.  Just got off the phone with Apple Rep, no ETA as yet.  Guess I am one of the unlucky few.    Thank goodness for gmail.

  • Phishing Scams - Detection by Verizon Email Servers

Verizon posts under Support / Announcements a number of notices about phishing scams that appear to be emails from Verizon.  Why can't the email servers detect these bogus emails and either block them at the server from making it to the user's accounts, or appending "POTENTIAL SCAM" to the email subject header.

I am sure that the actual original example shown are blocked, but the spammers keep find ways of disguising them so new version keep coming through.  Usually includes some pointers to servers they keep changing.

  • Can no longer connect to email servers

Ok, I'm hoping some Mac gurus here can help me out. I've got a primarily Windows-based network here using MS ISA server as a firewall/proxy. Our prepress guys are on various flavors of G4/G5, Panther and Tiger.
On Monday, July 5 they suddenly stopped being able to connect to POP/SMTP servers. I have tried different servers, different mail clients, resetting network connections, giving them different static ips, etc.
I haven't made any changes to the network or the Macs... I wasn't even here on Monday:) Anyway I know there are a lot of variables but I'm just grasping at straws now. The mail server is fine, the account settings work fine from any other system. I can't even establish a telnet to the mail server from the Macs. Internet and network access is fine, however.
    Thanks,
    -sean

Thanks for the replies guys. That is indeed an interesting diagnosis tool but seems to confirm that traffic is actually being passed over 110/25.
colin - I thought about the cable, but can do email from the a pc connected to the same switch... should probably look a little closer anyway.
These guys do have their settings at full duplex but no other combo including 100/half-duplex or automatic seems to clear things up. I will look at this more when I am back in the morning though.
    Thanks again,
    -sean

  • Changes to Verizon email servers and Non-SSL capable email clients

Need to change over my pop/smtp settings to the new settings as per Verizon notification.  I have quite a few non-SSL capable email clients.  Does Verizon provide a non-SSL email server on port other than 25 I can use ?

Not once they turn off the old incoming/outgoing servers. (Supposedly coming in September.)
What email clients are you using that don't allow for SSL???

  • Nokia Massaging and email servers changing

    Hi
I'm using nokia masseging service, it good and pritty halpfull but I've notice one thing which are not really best decision:
In nokia masseging service I have two mail acounts 1- my private gmail account and 2 is my corporate mail account,
all was working fine, but now my company uses the google services and all my corporate mail now automaticly forwarded on google services. So now I didn't recieve aby of my email letters becouse my nokia massaging uses old servers and i can not manually change the incoming and outgoing servers in my nokia massaging service, is there any posobility to change them
my old adress was @bzb.com and now   @bzb.com.test-google-a.com if you know how working google services You will undrestand couse old mail is still backuping.

    Hi Icusnik,
I am sorry there is no real way for you to fix this on your own currently in Nokia Messaging. You could email support
(http://www.nokiausa.com/support?m=i) tell them your problem and ask them to change the information for you.
To good news is that I know that functionality to change account information for already set up accounts is supposed to be supported in the next version of Nokia Messaging. This means that if you have an account on Nokia Messaging but your backend server information gets changed (Which sounds like is what happened for you) you will be able to modify the settings yourself.
Sorry though, I don't know when the next version will be out.
