how can i re-write without using the not exists.
here is my query:

NOT/EXISTS is probably your best bet for performance if the subquery is properly indexed, but other options include IN and INTERSECT/MINUS (depending on circumstances), something like (untested)
insert into rel (id)
select id from test a
where bo ='QW'
and id not IN (
select id from testing where id = a.id
insert into rel (id)
select id from test a
MINUS
select id from testingINTERSECT can be used to simulate EXISTS/IN but only when one value is selected. Similarlary MINUS can be used to simulate NOT EXISTS/IN.
Any such workarounds must be carefully tested to ensure that the correct results are returned. I would probably stick with IN/EXISTS for simplicity unless one of the other methods worked better for performance or other reasons.

I need to use either EXISTS or NOT EXISTS before the subquery based on the situation. I have written a test query but its erroring out. Please check it.

DECODE will not replace part of the query. Functions don't work that way.
(It won't work if you put EXISTS and NOT EXISTS in quotes, either.)
What you want is something like
WHERE (<condition> AND EXISTS...) OR (<not-condition> AND NOT EXISTS...)You can also do:
SELECT 1
FROM dual
CROSS JOIN (SELECT COUNT(1) AS exists_fg FROM emp WHERE ename = 'SCOTT') ex
WHERE (<condition> AND exists_flag > 0) OR (<not-condition> AND exists_flag = 0)This way, you don't have to include the entire WHERE EXISTS condition twice.

hi my requirement is
id column exists in all tables means
view v , tables A,B,C
i want to copmare like..
the id's which are available in V and not available in the three tables A,B,C
is this correct one or any simplify

I would probably test it both ways. Because of the minus, there is going to be two sort uniques in there somewhere. Each half of the minus has to be sorted and distincted before the minus can be done.

Every time I try to add add'l pix, it has to remove all existing and re-sync (always use same computer)

Each time I want to add more pictures to my library, it deletes all existing and re-loads (during syncing). I always use the same computer, never plugged my ipad into any other computer. I also get error messages sometimes when I am trying to download new songs (via computer) and it has given me an error message saying that the computer is not the 'designated' computer (but it is and always has been.).

what is the difference between exists and in is that only when i use in i have to bring the field name or what.... i mean in a complex SQL queries is it will give the same answer

You get two entirely different result sets that may be the same. Haah! What do I mean by that.

2 rows selected.So, why is this? the WHERE EXISTS means 'if the next is true', much like where 1=1 being always true and 1=2 being always false. In this case, where exists could be TRUE or FALSE, depending on the subquery.
WHERE EXISTS can be useful for something like testing if we have data, without actually having to return columns.
So, if you want to see if an employee exists you might say
SELECT 1 FROM DUAL WHERE EXISTS( select * from emp where empid = 10);
If there is a row in emp for empid=10, then you get back 1 from dual;
This is what I call an 'optimistic' lookup because the WHERE EXISTS ends as soon as there is a hit. It does not care how many - only that at least one exists. It is optimistic because it will continue processing the table lookup until either it hits or reaches the end of the table - for a non-indexed query.

I am trying to sync my ipod but it keeps saying that a previous library exists and that I can only sync it to one library. I want to sync it to the previous library but how do I get it to go there?

I want to sync it to the original library bc that is the one that has all songs. It keeps giving me a library with just songs that I have bought on itunes. I never created a new library so I am not sure why it is doing this. How do I get it to sync to my original library? I have already tried to restore a previous version of itunes but that did not help.

It appears that something happened to yur computer/iTunes files. It happens sometimes. To recovery:
- Import the old music into the current iTunes library
- Make sure all the apps are also in the library
- If in the USA and therplaces where iCloud has benn released you can redownload most iTunes puchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- You can always redownload apps at no additional cost as long as you are singned into the same iTunes account the originally purchased them.
- After all the suff in in the iTunes library, make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes.
- Restore the iPod from backup and restore as necessary.

I'm unable to install Itunes on my new PC. I'm logged in as the administrator And have deleted my browsing history. Try the following:
Uninstall iTunes and Quicktime
Reboot
in the task tray right click the quicktime icon and click exit.
navigate to the folder in program files and remove the quicktime directory and all its files.
Reboot.
Now try install iTunes and quicktime and it should work

Let's check your Windows system.
1. Have you done all the important windows updates and service Packs on your system. If not do it now. START button, type in Windows Update and ENTER. Select 'CHECK FOR UPDATES'
2. Let's check your Windows system files for possible file corruption
SCAN and repair possible Windows system file corruption:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
type in
sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer if it did actually repair any files.
3. Check your system for possible Malware. But you have to do it in WIndows Safe Mode.
Start your computer in "Safe mode with networking", go to this link download a free version of Malwarebyte.

Install and perform update immediately, then do a full SCAN. Remove malware if it indeed finds any. Restart computer to regular windows to let Malwarebyte complete the removal.
To start your computer in safe mode
Press and hold the F8 key as your computer starts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the "safe mode with networking" option, and then press Enter. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your screen. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.
