Expanding "Roles" to edit ADF BC Entities using ADF BC Security

hi,
I created a test application using the ADF Business Components Technology stack.
I wanted to use "ADF BC Security" instead of "ADF Security" as we encountred problems with "ADF Security" ...
I also configured the ADF BC module to enforce the security etc... as mentionned in the JDev developer's guide.
the problem:
I wanted to edit the authorization for a given BC entity, by right clicking on the entity then choosing edit > authorization > new > read, update, update when new > chose "role"
the problem is that I always find 6 roles:
oc4jadmin, as_control ,etc.....
I edited the system-jazn-data.xml to add my "own" roles , but they do not appear in the list of choice of roles, when I want to edit the entities authorization as mentionned above.
can someone help please?
thank you.

thank you Frank for the answer. but it does not solve the problem.
I know where tofind the system-jazn-data, i even find 3x "system-jazn-data.xml" in the JDev 1032 folder. I even inserted my "own" roles into these 3 files to see, maybe it works. but not.
after restarting JDev 1032 , the problem persists, I still can not list my own roles when I edit the authorization of an ADF BC Entity.
can somenone help please?
thank you.
PS: here the extract of my system-jazn-data.xml, with the "own roles" in bold:

  • Mass ADF Application Deployment using JDeveloper

    I really hope there is a simple answer for this...
    I have a 'suite' of Oracle ADF applications (they use ADF Faces + ADF Business Components + JHeadstart technology) that I would like to mass-deploy / mass-redeploy to our Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.3).
    What is the easiest solution that will let me just say "GO!" and thus deploy all 17 individual web applications to the server? For the longest time I have been just individually deploying each application through each individual WAR Deployment Profile (*.deploy) that each application has. Now, I need a less tedious way to perform this maintenance.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Are you using the ANT/JDev integration to do this? I've never tried it, but in the last part of the video http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/viewlets/1013/agile_development_viewlet_swf.html it seems like there are deployment tasks available in the integrated ANT with JDeveloper.
    Sorry I can't provide any specific insights - perhaps someone else has done this?

  • Validating data in jsp with multiple rows editable using ADF

    If we are developing a page using ADF that edits muliptle rows in a table(view object) , how de we validate data in a row against the data entered in other rows.
    Suppose user entered data in row1 and row2 , i want to validate the data in row1 against data in row 2.

    Suppose the user is entering data in a web page with three rows, user is allowed to enter a value in row2 less than the value entered in row1. When user enter a value greater than the value in previous row, we need to show a message and show the fields with the values that caused the error.

    i want to build simple apps like this one : http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2007/06/create-edit-and-delete-operations-in.html
    It's using ADF BC. How could it be done using ADF Toplink ?
    Thanks,

    Ricky,
    If you're using JDeveloper 10.1.3, take a look at the ADF learning center. Under the heading "Experienced Java Developers", on the right, you'll see a sample, tutorial and developer guide covering the ADF Faces/TopLink technology stack.

  • ADFS and SharePoint Integration: How to use ADFS Roles?

    Hello,
    I've successfully integrated SharePoint with ADFS2 and users can login by ADFS. One of the claims mapping in ADFS and SharePoint is SAM-Account-Name->Windows account name.
    Is there any guideline how to grant a permission to an specific role? For example I want to grand read access to an specific list to a specific AD group called "ListReaders"
    A link to an online article explains how to use ADFS Roles in SharePoint would be a great help.
    Thank you,

    Hi Allan,
    According to your description, my understanding is that grant permission to ADFS roles.
    Please refer to “A Fellows” last suggestion to grant permission to ADFS roles in the link below:

  • Executable JAR using ADF displays JBO-26061: Error while opening JDBC conn.

    I'm trying to create a simple Java Desktop Application (ADF) in JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.3.0) which will run on Windows XP (SP3) simply by clicking the JAR file. I have encountered many problems and found solutions but I am now completely stuck. Currently when I execute the JAR I get (oracle.jbo.DMLException) JBO-26061: Error while opening JDBC connection.
    Inside JDeveloper it runs perfectly but I want it to run without JDeveloper. If I run the executable string JDeveloper displays when you click run, this also works fine.
    Here's what I've done -
    Created a demo app using the 'Building a Java Swing application with Oracle ADF' tutorial as a proof of concept.
    Created a deployment profile 'Client Jar Deployment Profile'
    Create a new file group to include all the JAR files.
    Create a manifest.mf listing all the JAR files - making sure not to exceed 70 bytes on each line and every new line starts with 2 spaces and at the end of the line there is no trailing spaces.
    Made sure the jps-config.xml and cwallet.sso is included in the META-INF folder of the JAR.
    I've deployed the JAR file to a folder which contains all the associated JAR files, made sure the manifest.mf is pointing to the correct files and executed my jar (double clicked it) after a short pause (2-3 seconds) that's when the error pops up.
    Here is the error stack

    That's excellent advice, changing the connection type, I tried this before, it still gives the same error so I didn't think it had much to do with my problem but what I didn't notice is it gives a more meaningful error stack - see below, compared to my original error stack, i think you're on to something good! So, clearly the password isn't being packaged into the JAR, now I thought this might be happening which is why I added "DeployPassword" in the connections.xml file but that hasn't made a difference. I can see the connections.xml in my JAR if i expand it in the META-INF folder, so I know that's included ok, along with jps-config.xml/adf-config.xml/adfm.xml/cwallet.sso/MANIFEST.MF also in the META-INF folder (inside the JAR)
    I can see the password element contains no value, but I tried changing this before with no luck. I'll try again.

  • "expand role" nt waiting for all users in the role to view the notification

    I have created adhoc roles using the following code.
    lv_user_list_txt := 'SYSTECH'||','||'FNATECH';
    wf_directory.createadhocrole (lv_role_name_txt, lv_role_display_txt);
    wf_directory.adduserstoadhocrole (lv_role_name_txt, lv_user_list_txt);
    I have assigned it to the Item attribute of type 'Role' using the following code.
    wf_engine.setitemattrtext (
    itemtype => itemtype,
    itemkey => itemkey,
    aname => 'LIST_OF_APPROVER',
    avalue => lv_role_name_txt
    I have checked the 'Expand role' check box in the notification and assigned the performer as the Item attribute(Role type) 'LIST_OF_APPROVER'.
    But when one user in the role approves or rejects, the notification of the other user is cancelled. the other user can no longer view the notification.
    Ideally, after checking the 'Expand role', the workflow should not proceed to the next node until, all the user have performed an action. But this is not happening. Please help on this :(
    Thanks in Advance.
    Anitha.

    yes, I did. I spent at least 8 hours searching for a solution here, in the forums and tried everything making sense... The EFI downgrade was the only thing that helped.
    My personal opinion is: Apple should offer the EFI downgrade option to all users in an official way. It looks like my favorite vendor does not want to admit they made a hardware+software mistake (the EFI 1.7 update solves some HDD issues on some new MBPs but causes other problems on other MBPs).

  • How to create a cache for JPA Entities using an EJB

    Hello everybody! I have recently got started with JPA 2.0 (I use eclipseLink) and EJB 3.1 and have a problem to figure out how to best implement a cache for my JPA Entities using an EJB.
    In the following I try to describe my problem.. I know it is a bit verbose, but hope somebody will help me.. (I highlighted in bold the core of my problem, in case you want to first decide if you can/want help and in the case spend another couple of minutes to understand the domain)
    I have the following JPA Entities:
    @Entity Genre{
    private String name;
    @OneToMany(mappedBy = "genre", cascade={CascadeType.MERGE, CascadeType.PERSIST})
    private Collection<Novel> novels;
    @Entity
    class Novel{
    @ManyToOne(cascade={CascadeType.MERGE, CascadeType.PERSIST})
    private Genre genre;
    private String titleUnique;
    @OneToMany(mappedBy="novel", cascade={CascadeType.MERGE, CascadeType.PERSIST})
    private Collection<NovelEdition> editions;
    @Entity
    class NovelEdition{
    private String publisherNameUnique;
    private String year;
    @ManyToOne(optional=false, cascade={CascadeType.PERSIST, CascadeType.MERGE})
    private Novel novel;
    @ManyToOne(optional=false, cascade={CascadeType.MERGE, CascadeType.PERSIST})
    private Catalog appearsInCatalog;
    @Entity
    class Catalog{
    private String name;
    @OneToMany(mappedBy = "appearsInCatalog", cascade = {CascadeType.MERGE, CascadeType.PERSIST})
    private Collection<NovelEdition> novelsInCatalog;
    The idea is to have several Novels, belonging each to a specific Genre, for which can exist more than an edition (different publisher, year, etc). For semplicity a NovelEdition can belong to just one Catalog, being such a Catalog represented by such a text file:
    FILE 1:
    Catalog: Name Of Catalog 1
    "Title of Novel 1", "Genre1 name","Publisher1 Name", 2009
    "Title of Novel 2", "Genre1 name","Pulisher2 Name", 2010
    FILE 2:
    Catalog: Name Of Catalog 2
    "Title of Novel 1", "Genre1 name","Publisher2 Name", 2011
    "Title of Novel 2", "Genre1 name","Pulisher1 Name", 2011
    Each entity has associated a Stateless EJB that acts as a DAO, using a Transaction Scoped EntityManager. For example:
    @Stateless
    public class NovelDAO extends AbstractDAO<Novel> {
    @PersistenceContext(unitName = "XXX")
    private EntityManager em;
    protected EntityManager getEntityManager() {
    return em;
    public NovelDAO() {
    super(Novel.class);
    //NovelDAO Specific methods
    I am interested at when the catalog files are parsed and the corresponding entities are built (I usually read a whole batch of Catalogs at a time).
    Being the parsing a String-driven procedure, I don't want to repeat actions like novelDAO.getByName("Title of Novel 1") so I would like to use a centralized cache for mappings of type String-Identifier->Entity object.
    Currently I use +3 Objects+:
    1) The file parser, which does something like:
    final CatalogBuilder catalogBuilder = //JNDI Lookup
    //for each file:
    String catalogName = parseCatalogName(file);
    catalogBuilder.setCatalogName(catalogName);
    //For each novel edition
    String title= parseNovelTitle();
    String genre= parseGenre();
    catalogBuilder.addNovelEdition(title, genre, publisher, year);
    //End foreach
    catalogBuilder.build();
    2) The CatalogBuilder is a Stateful EJB which uses the Cache and gets re-initialized every time a new Catalog file is parsed and gets "removed" after a catalog is persisted.
    @Stateful
    public class CatalogBuilder {
    @PersistenceContext(unitName = "XXX", type = PersistenceContextType.EXTENDED)
    private EntityManager em;
    @EJB
    private Cache cache;
    private Catalog catalog;
    @PostConstruct
    public void initialize() {
    catalog = new Catalog();
    catalog.setNovelsInCatalog(new ArrayList<NovelEdition>());
    public void addNovelEdition(String title, String genreStr, String publisher, String year){
    Genre genre = cache.findGenreCreateIfAbsent(genreStr);//##
    Novel novel = cache.findNovelCreateIfAbsent(title, genre);//##
    NovelEdition novEd = new NovelEdition();
    novEd.setNovel(novel);
    //novEd.set publisher year catalog
    catalog.getNovelsInCatalog().add();
    public void setCatalogName(String name) {
    catalog.setName(name);
    @Remove
    public void build(){
    em.merge(catalog);
    3) Finally, the problematic bean: Cache. For CatalogBuilder I used an EXTENDED persistence context (which I need as the Parser executes several succesive transactions) together with a Stateful EJB; but in this case I am not really sure what I need. In fact, the cache:
    Should stay in memory until the parser is finished with its job, but not longer (should not be a singleton) as the parsing is just a very particular activity which happens rarely.
    Should keep all of the entities in context, and should return managed entities form mehtods marked with ##, otherwise the attempt to persist the catalog should fail (duplicated INSERTs)..
    Should use the same persistence context as the CatalogBuilder.
    What I have now is :
    @Stateful
    public class Cache {
    @PersistenceContext(unitName = "XXX", type = PersistenceContextType.EXTENDED)
    private EntityManager em;
    @EJB
    private sessionbean.GenreDAO genreDAO;
    //DAOs for other cached entities
    Map<String, Genre> genreName2Object=new TreeMap<String, Genre>();
    @PostConstruct
    public void initialize(){
    for (Genre g: genreDAO.findAll()) {
    genreName2Object.put(g.getName(), em.merge(g));
    public Genre findGenreCreateIfAbsent(String genreName){
    if (genreName2Object.containsKey(genreName){
    return genreName2Object.get(genreName);
    Genre g = new Genre();
    g.setName();
    g.setNovels(new ArrayList<Novel>());
    genreDAO.persist(t);
    genreName2Object.put(t.getIdentifier(), em.merge(t));
    return t;
    But honestly I couldn't find a solution which satisfies these 3 points at the same time. For example, using another stateful bean with an extended persistence context (PC) would work for the 1st parsed file, but I have no idea what should happen from the 2nd file on.. Indeed, for the 1st file the PC will be created and propagated from CatalogBuilder to Cache, which will then use the same PC. But after build() returns, the PC of CatalogBuilder should (I guess) be removed and re-created during the succesive parsing, although the PC of Cache should stay "alive": shouldn't in this case an exception being thrown? Another problem is what to do when the Cache bean is passivated. Currently I get the exception:
    "passivateEJB(), Exception caught ->
    java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException
    at com.sun.ejb.base.io.IOUtils.serializeObject(IOUtils.java:101)
    at com.sun.ejb.containers.util.cache.LruSessionCache.saveStateToStore(LruSessionCache.java:501)"
    Hence, I have no Idea how to implement my cache.. Can you please tell me how would you solve the problem?
    Many thanks!
    Bye

    Hi Chris,
    thanks for your reply!
    I've tried to add the following into persistence.xml (although I've read that eclipseLink uses L2 cache by default..):
    <shared-cache-mode>ALL</shared-cache-mode>
    Then I replaced the Cache bean with a stateless bean which has methods like
    Genre findGenreCreateIfAbsent(String genreName){
    Genre genre = genreDAO.findByName(genreName);
    if (genre!=null){
    return genre;
    genre = //Build new genre object
    genreDAO.persist(genre);
    return genre;
    As far as I undestood, the shared cache should automatically store the genre and avoid querying the DB multiple times for the same genre, but unfortunately this is not the case: if I use a FINE logging level, I see really a lot of SELECT queries, which I didn't see with my "home made" Cache...
    I am really confused.. :(
    Thanks again for helping + bye

  • How to edit a datagridview/textboxes using tableadapters in c# and sql

    I am wondering what is the best way to edit a database that has multiple tables.
    (Section 1) I have a Administration, Teacher and Student table that is linked up with the Person table which has a Primary Key.
    The Person table consists of the general information of the person.
    The Student table consists of information about the student; student ID and qualification code.
    The Teacher table consists of information about the teacher; teacher ID, Reg No and password.
    The Administration table consists of information about the admin; admin ID, Role and password.
    As the Primary Key in the Person table is the ID, I have linked up with each of the other's table with their appropriate ID.
    (Section 2) I have a Course and Qualification table that is linked up with the Student and Teacher table as well as each other.
    The course table constists of the Course ID, Course Name ... and Teacher ID.
    The Qualifications table consists of Qualification Code, Qualification Name and Duration.
    There is a section where I have to create a view which shows just the Student ID, Course ID and has the Student's Marks in it.
    I have got a combobox which then links up with the dgv(datagridview).
    I have got insert and delete methods for both sections. Here is an example of the insert method into the Admin/Person table.
    try
    personTableAdapter.Insert(aFirstName.Text, aSurname.Text, Convert.ToDateTime(aDoB.Text), aPhone.Text, aAdd1.Text, aAdd2.Text, aSuburb.Text, aState.Text, aPostcode.Text, AdminType.Text);
    administrationTableAdapter.Insert(Convert.ToInt32(aAID1.Text), aRole.Text, aPassword.Text);
    MessageBox.Show(aFirstName.Text + " " + aSurname.Text + " has been added. Your ID is " + aAID1.Text);
    this.personTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Person);
    this.administrationTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Administration);
    catch (Exception ex)
    MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
    Here is an example of the delete method in the Admin/Person table.
    try
    personTableAdapter.Delete(Convert.ToInt32(aID.Text), aFirstName.Text, aSurname.Text, Convert.ToDateTime(aDoB.Text), aPhone.Text, aAdd1.Text, aAdd2.Text, aSuburb.Text, aState.Text, aPostcode.Text, AdminType.Text);
    administrationTableAdapter.Delete(Convert.ToInt32(aAID.Text), aRole.Text, aPassword.Text);
    MessageBox.Show("Person Deleted");
    this.personTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Person);
    this.administrationTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Administration);
    catch (Exception)
    MessageBox.Show("Cannot delete Person");
    Those methods above are working fine, what I'm having problems with, is with the editing/updating part.
    I have tried a few things and haven't worked.
    Here's an example of an edit, while trying to use textboxes.
    personTableAdapter.Update(aFirstName.Text, aSurname.Text, Convert.ToDateTime(aDoB.Text), aPhone.Text, aAdd1.Text, aAdd2.Text, aSuburb.Text, aState.Text, aPostcode.Text, AdminType.Text, Convert.ToInt32(aID.Text), aFirstName.Text, aSurname.Text, Convert.ToDateTime(aDoB.Text), aPhone.Text, aAdd1.Text, aAdd2.Text, aSuburb.Text, aState.Text, aPostcode.Text, AdminType.Text);
    administrationTableAdapter.Update(aRole.Text, aPassword.Text, Convert.ToInt32(aAID.Text), aRole.Text, aPassword.Text);
    personBindingSource.EndEdit();
    administrationBindingSource.EndEdit();
    administrationTableAdapter.Update(_30002195DataSet.Administration);
    personTableAdapter.Update(_30002195DataSet.Person);
    MessageBox.Show("Person Updated");
    this.personTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Person);
    this.administrationTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Administration);
    Here I tried to do the new values/original values, while trying to use textboxes
    personTableAdapter.Update(aFirstName.Text, aSurname.Text, Convert.ToDateTime(aDoB.Text), aPhone.Text, aAdd1.Text, aAdd2.Text, aSuburb.Text, aState.Text, aPostcode.Text, AdminType.Text, Convert.ToInt32(aID.Text), aFirstName.Text, aSurname.Text, Convert.ToDateTime(aDoB.Text), aPhone.Text, aAdd1.Text, aAdd2.Text, aSuburb.Text, aState.Text, aPostcode.Text, AdminType.Text);
    administrationTableAdapter.Update(aRole.Text, aPassword.Text, Convert.ToInt32(aAID.Text), aRole.Text, aPassword.Text);
    Trying to use the example through the mdsn, this is trying to use the datagridview.
    this.Validate();
    personBindingSource.EndEdit();
    teacherBindingSource.EndEdit();
    _30002195DataSet.PersonDataTable deletedPerson = (_30002195DataSet.PersonDataTable)
    _30002195DataSet.Person.GetChanges(DataRowState.Deleted);
    _30002195DataSet.PersonDataTable newPerson = (_30002195DataSet.PersonDataTable)
    _30002195DataSet.Person.GetChanges(DataRowState.Added);
    _30002195DataSet.PersonDataTable modifiedPerson = (_30002195DataSet.PersonDataTable)
    _30002195DataSet.Person.GetChanges(DataRowState.Modified);
    try
    if (deletedPerson != null)
    personTableAdapter.Update(deletedPerson);
    teacherTableAdapter.Update(_30002195DataSet.Teacher);
    if (newPerson != null)
    personTableAdapter.Update(newPerson);
    if (modifiedPerson != null)
    personTableAdapter.Update(modifiedPerson);
    _30002195DataSet.AcceptChanges();
    catch (System.Exception ex)
    MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
    finally
    if (deletedPerson != null)
    deletedPerson.Dispose();
    if (newPerson != null)
    newPerson.Dispose();
    if (modifiedPerson != null)
    modifiedPerson.Dispose();
    MessageBox.Show("Updated");
    this.personTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Person);
    this.teacherTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Teacher);
    Now because I am trying to edit a certain user which requires the Person table along with the other table, it just doesn't seem to work at all.
    With the datagridview, I made a new view in the sql and it has both tables combined and shows when I bring it out from the datasource, but where I go into the dataset builder and try to create an update method, all I get is the "Update" not what
    I would get when I created the update method from just the person's table by itself.
    Can someone provide me with an example or help me out someway because I am struggling with this, I can't seem to find much information at all.
    Thanks.

    I have used the designer to create a new datagridview, when using that dgv it doesn't want to update to the relevent tables in my database. So say you have the person and admin dgv together and you need to update it, how would you get it to work
    to the database? I did just end up using 2 seperate dgv's but it won't get accepted.
    try
    _30002195DataSetTableAdapters.PersonTableAdapter personTableAdapter = new _30002195DataSetTableAdapters.PersonTableAdapter();
    // person table
    _30002195DataSetTableAdapters.AdministrationTableAdapter administrationTableAdapter = new _30002195DataSetTableAdapters.AdministrationTableAdapter();
    // admin table
    ViewSetTableAdapters.AdminViewTableAdapter adminviewTableAdapter = new ViewSetTableAdapters.AdminViewTableAdapter();
    // tried using this for both the admin/person tables together but didn't work?
    this.Validate();
    adminViewBindingSource.EndEdit(); //both
    personBindingSource.EndEdit();
    administrationBindingSource.EndEdit();
    personTableAdapter.Update(_30002195DataSet.Person);
    administrationTableAdapter.Update(_30002195DataSet.Administration);
    MessageBox.Show("Updated");
    this.personTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Person);
    this.administrationTableAdapter.Fill(this._30002195DataSet.Administration);
    catch (Exception ex)
    MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
     So, how would I write the code so it edits both the tables from just the one dgv?
    Hello,
    Based on these words above, it seems that the key issue is that you want to display and edit the data of two tables with a single datagridview, right? If so, I am afraid that I would recommend you consider using code other than designer to get that done.
    Are these table store in the same database?
    If so, then you could consider getting that done with ADO.NET, we could getting the data of multiple table with sql query. You could consider
    using sql query to get all data from multiple tables
    of database, and then fill them to a single datatable.
    For query issue, you could consider getting help from
    Transact-SQL forum.
    If not, then we need to create update query for both table and execute these queries with sperate connection strings.

  • Question on "Master Detail page using ADF" sample

    I downloaded the "Master Detail page using ADF" sample application. I modified editDepartment.jsp page to include the Commit button as follows:
    <html:submit property="event_Commit">Save and Commit</html:submit>
    When I go to edit a department record and click on the new "Save and Commit" button, I SQLed the DEPARTMENTS table and noticed that the edits were not commited. I also restarted the embedded OC4J server and still get the same results. For some reason, the department view object contains the modification but the entity object doesn't. Why?

    Scott,
    My colleague suggested a workaround, which is to explicitly include the detail table's id in the master table's partialTargets list. So, for example, in MasterDetailDP.uix, changing:
    <table model="${bindings.DepartmentsView1}"
           id="DepartmentsView111"
           partialRenderMode="multiple"
           partialTargets="_uixState">to:
    <table model="${bindings.DepartmentsView1}"
           id="DepartmentsView111"
           partialRenderMode="multiple"
           partialTargets="_uixState EmployeesView312">...will cause the detail table to be updated when sorting the master table.
    There is some question about whether sorting a table should actually cause the currently selected row to change - we're still discussing this point.

  • How to use ADF Query search with EJB 3.0

    Hi,
    In ADF guide http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/web_search_bc.htm#CIHIJABA
    The steps to create query search with ADF Business Components says:
    "+From the Data Controls panel, select the data collection and expand the Named Criteria node to display a list of named view criteria.+"
    But with EJB, I'm not able to find Named Criteria node. Can we use ADF query search component with EJB? If yes, can you please show me some example, tutorial etc.?
    Thanks
    BJ

    For EJBs you'll need to implement the query model on your own.
    An example of how the model should look like is in the ADF Faces components demo.
    http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/query.jspx
    Code here:

  • Error while using ADF map component

    I am facing problem while using ADF map component to display geographical addresses on the map. Steps I have followed are as follows :
    1. I have created a simple table with structure.
    location_name varchar2(20),
    longitude number(10),
    latitude(10)
    This table is having records for actual values.
    2. I have created BC objects for accessing this table.
    3. Then I have added this data control to the JSP page as a ADF map and point theme. Here I have specified map viewer URL as http://elocation.oracle.com/mapviewer/. I have binded values for longitude and latitude to the values from EO. I have specified point data value as location_name. No value is specified for category.
    With this setup when I try to execute the page, it is throwing following error.
    DVT-26007: Theme mapPointTheme1 cannot be displayed because data at row 0(rowId=0001000000055445535431) does not have value.
    Can someone guide me on this please.....

    Hi,
    When we add point theme to the map, we specify the data control binding to this theme. This binding is done against the attribute names from the data control. I want to bind this theme input values to some variables. So that it can be changed at runtime. I think this can be done if we are able to use EL. So is it possible to achieve this? Could you please suggest me any other alternative way to achieve this.
    Thanks,
    Prashant

  • Problem in navigation of portletized JSf application using ADF on portal

    Hi All,
    I am implementing a simple scenario wherein i have an ADF Business Component (a simple drop down) and a command button. On click of the button, there is a navigation from one jsp to another.
    I am able to portletize a simple application using ADF Business Component.It runs fine when run on local.
    But when i put it on portal, navigation does not work.the control is not transferred to the method of backing bean.It is not showing loggers either.
    jdev version :10.1.3.3
    oracle portal :10.1.4
    Standalone OC4j : 10.1.3
    If any one has working model of this, can you pls post the files used.
    Also , if anyone has work around for same, it will be helpful.Thanks.

    Could somebody help me?
    Thanks a lot ;-)

    Hi there,
    I had the same issue last friday.
    It's probably because you are using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 instead of 10.1.3.0 or 10.1.3.1 for which the example is made.
    I haven't been able to fix this yet, other then by commenting out the this part of the css.
