Explanation for exception?

Hello,
I am receiving the following exception periodically, normally after a number of successful inserts. For no obvious reason an insert to the large container (3.5GB) fails with the following exception
transaction has active cursors
PANIC: Invalid argument
PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery
XmlException 0, Error: Could not fetch next DOM element for doc id: 2242, nid: 1.0F
After I do a recovery everything works fine for a while before I get the same.
Any ideas?

Hi George,
Thanks for the response. I continued to have issues with the one container. On attempting to reindex with no other applications accessing the container the dbxml shell would segfault. I managed to extract an acceptable amount of data and then created a new container. I have not seen the problem again since I recreated the container.
While I certainly think its possible there's a concurrency bug in my app the resolution by recreation of the container to me indicates I had corruption of some sort. The container itself is fairly old and was also used with dbxml 2.3. Previous application (using 2.3) bugs certainly have caused corruption as I had a number of problems with node names missing in documents after updatnig to 2.6 and reindexing.

No, you should have Restrictions OFF.
Computer's iTunes > Preferences > Parental Preferences > everything should be unchecked.
Are the songs also on computer's iTunes?

  • MRP - want to create query for Exception message number (MD04)

    Dear all MM kings
consider  i had one purchase against xxxx material , if i go to MD04  In Exception message number  column i got massage number 20 Cancel process, now i want to know how many purchase order exist  in system having the Exception message number  20
i want to define query for Exception message number 20
is there any way to do the same

    Hi,
There are links on the first thread on this MM board that describe how to produce a query.
But if you have not done this before and have no ABAP experience, you might find it a bit tricky.
You need someone to find the tabkle that stores the MRP lists and see if this contains the exception message, first.
the structure I gave you is probably built dynamically by the program and so may not be available for a query.
One simpler option is to use the "Collective access" tab in MD04. here you can enter an MRP controller etc. and get a list of materials. You can then find out which of the 8 numbered columns contains the exception message 20 and then sort the list in this sequence (the exception messages are linked to one of the columns and this can be different in every implementation and so I can't tell you which one it is)
This will not just get the "20" messages unless they have been configured to use a separate column, but at least it is avail;able now without config and may be enough for your purposes.

I would like to ask whether anyone knows of any true explanation for why the iPhone 5 starts at $199 in the US and £529 in the UK? That is more than a £400 discrepancy...
iPhones are duty free and even with a $50 shipping fee it would only come to £185.75 including VAT at the current exchange rate.

How much a month is the standard 24month contract with AT&T or one of the other American providers that makes the handset cost $199?
Here's the cheapest plans available from the big three:
The plans start there and can run up to $230/mo (for AT&T).

  • I received a text from a friend that she didn't send. Is there an explanation for this?

So I was texting my friend, we both have iPhones and are both using iMessage to text each other. We got into a rather personal conversation (not that important). But in the middle of the conversation I received a text message (SMS) instead of an iMessage which we'd both been using, but then immediately back to iMessage, so I thought nothing of it. Then later it happened again, I got another text message in the middle of our iMessage conversation, and then back to iMessage. Although this time it was a strange question to which I inquired about and my friend was confused as to what I was talking about. I screenshotted the text message I received in the middle of OUR iMessage conversation and sent it to her. She said "I never sent that" and was adamant about it. I believe her, although I am not by any means ruling out that she lied to me. All the text messages came from the same number that I've always texted from previous phones and iMessage'd since we've had out iPhones. What makes me both scared (and suspicious of my friend in a way) is that in the text messages I got, they referenced the very personal conversation that her and I were having through iMessage. She swears by god that she neither told anybody about our conversation, nor let anybody see her phone. Is there a legitimate explanation for what has occurred? It has made me very paranoid as to the fact that either she lied to me, or perhaps to the even more frightening fact that our conversation is being watched and apparently intervened into by an unknown stranger, by which an explanation may help. However unlikely that is, I will not rule it out. Technology has come far and can do many things. Any insight/feedback as to a possible explanation or anything to ease my stress and paranoia would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind, the messages I got that are in question are from her phone number, not her iMessage/apple ID address/email address. She swears she did not send then, which I trust, but they came from her phone number.

What was that URL? Don't post the whole thing; just the part between the double // and the first single / or ? character. For example, if it was

    or
    http://something.apple.ie.something?blah=blahblah
    then just post
    something.apple.ie.something

Just to add this : iWeb -- the app itself -- is still supported, updated only months ago and as part of the ilife '11 DVDs still widely spread even though it is not sold on the AppStore it is official part of iLife. It runs in Lion and there is zero issues with the app. So a training makes sense, doesn't it ?.

  • DVD+R and DVD-R 101: An Explanation for Beginners

I found this information and believe that it could be of help to other beginners like me. I Googled: DVD-R vs DVD+R ?
There are other sites, but here is one which explains step-by-step. Titled:
*DVD+R and DVD-R 101: An Explanation for Beginners*
    Here:http://netforbeginners.about.com/cs/multimedia/a/DVD_explained.htm
    ~L

I only use DVD+R (using iMovie 06 and iDVD 09).
I have found DVD+R to be more reliable than DVD-R. The only disadvantage to DVD+R is that DVD players manufacture before 2003 may not play them.
DVD-R is not as good as DVD+R for three reasons: inferior error correction, inferior ‘wobble’ tracking, and the fact its data writing methods look like an un-needed halfway point between CD-R and DVD+R.
For a DVD burner to track where it is on the disc, it uses three things: the ‘wobble’ of the data track (where it actually wobbles back and forth instead of in a straight line) to tell where it is in the track, the position of the track to tell where it is on the disc, and some additional information on the disc to tell where the track begins and ends.
On DVD-R, they tried to solve the problem with something called ‘pre-pits’ where spikes in the amplitude of the wobble appear due to pits fully out of phase with the rest of the track (ie, between two spirals of the track, where there is no data). This can be viewed as a simple improvement over CD-R as it makes it easier to track the wobble.
On a DVD+R, however, they came up with a much better method. Instead of changing the frequency of the wobble, or causing amplitude spikes in the wobble, they use complete phase changes. Where CD-R’s and DVD-R’s methods make you choose between either easy wobble tracking or easy ATIP reading, DVD+R’s method makes it very easy to track the wobble, and also very easy to encode data into the wobble.
Now, the third item on the list: how DVD+R discs burn better. The ATIP/pre-pit/ADIP stores information about optimum power control settings. This information is basically formulas stating how much output power is needed, what the laser startup power should be, and other pieces of information you require to properly burn a DVD.
In addition to the optimum power control profiles, DVD+R also gives four times more scratch space for the drive to calibrate the laser on; more space can only improve the calibration quality. So, in short, DVD+R media exists to simply produce better burns and protect your Movie.

  • No explanation for failed android update service?

Why has no member of the Verizon support staff come forward with a clear explanation for the lack of Android 2.3.4? It is beyond doubt now that the version in question is in fact available for Verizon to release to their US customers. Maybe there is a valid reason for delaying the release of an essential update, but until VZW stops avoiding numerous complaints and attempts to resolve the issue, situations such as these will continue to tarnish their brand. Do your part and  warn others who maybe be lured into ordering this failure of a phone. Tell them to get the superior AT&T 4g version or wait until a newer model is released. We have been tricked into committing two years of our lives to a network that refuses to answer questions.
I spoke on the phone with Verizon support. The employee was very friendly and seemed genuinely concerned. After a lengthy wait on hold, the only information the employee could provide was that it was maybe SE's fault, and gave me a number to call them. Of course, support at SE explicitly confirmed what everyone on here has said: VERIZON HAS THE UPDATE AND THEY DECIDE WHEN TO RELEASE IT.
So, VZW... you have the update and you have yet to provide us with fully-functional devices. Instead of ignoring the issue, respond directly to this post. WHEN will the update 2.3.4 be released? I can't wait for this nightmare to start all over again once ICS drops.

Cause they are too lazy to release it. I'm done with this crappy company once my contract is up unless they can get their act together and give us the updates Sony has given them.

  • Needed some detailed explanation for following points -- In UNICODE

    Hi all
The following rules apply for converting a structure into a single field and vice versa:
    1. If a structure is purely character-type, it is treated like a C field during conversion.
    2. If the single field is of type C, but only part of the structure is character-type, conversion is only possible if the structure begins with a character-type structure and if this structure is at least as long as the single field. Conversion now takes place between the first character-type group of the structure and the single field. If the structure is the target field, the character type sections of the remainder are filled with blanks, and all other components are filled with the type-adequate initial value.
    3. Conversion is not permitted if the structure is not purely character-type and if the single field is not of type C.
hi anybody can provide an explanation with examples
    Thanks in advance.

The data layout of structures is relevant to UP checks with regard to the reliability of assignments and comparisons, for example. This data layout is represented in the Unicode fragment view. The fragment view breaks down the structure into alignment gaps, in byte and character-type areas, and all other types such as P, I, F, strings, references or internal tables.
Juxtaposed character-type components of a structure except strings are internally combined into a group if no alignment gaps exist between these components. All possible alignment requirements for characters are considered. Juxtaposed byte type components are grouped together in the same way.
    Example
    BEGIN OF struc,
      a(2) TYPE C,
      b(4) TYPE N,
      c    TYPE D,
      d    TYPE T,
      e    TYPE F,
      f(2) TYPE X,
      g(4) TYPE X,
      h(8) TYPE C,
      i(8) TYPE C,
    END OF struc.
    Fragment 1: a, b, c, d
Fragment 2: Alignment gap between d and e
    Fragment 3: e
    Fragment 4: f, g
Fragment 5: Alignment gap between g and h
    Fragment 6: h, i

  • Possible explanation for L920 issues

    Hello,
I will be sending an official Email to Nokia about my experience with the L920 and my observation but would like to share with you what my device is struggling with. I will have to confirm that my device, including the battery is fault free.
    ** GPS
Somtimes the GPS will not lock. It will work for minutes, hours but out of the blue just refuses to respond anymore.
I can confirm this issue after several tests. It's obviously software related.
Tried it with many GPS softwares; sometimes GPSinfo can't use the GPS, instead it displays using A-GPS ( Assisted GPS ) from GSM data. Accuracy is somehow 100-200 meters that's why you will see your position jumping all around the map.
The only solution is to reset the device. Once done, if you open GPSinfo for example, it will connect to the sattelite and lock in seconds. If you retry after half an hour, it still locks. If you use the device for hours moderately and try again, it fails. Hence I have to reboot it.
If it's a hardware issue, GPS will lock sporadically regardless of reboots which is not the case.
    ** Speakers
Another thing I noticed... When you play a notification, if you put your ears next to the speakers in the button when it's over, there will be a light buzzing sound barely noticeable ( if you are in a quiet room ) for 2-3 seconds and then will go away. It basically means that the speakers were on and went into standby. Another explanation to why sometimes when I get a notification I hear a crackling distored sound then it continues normally. Should be because the audio device is waking up.
I have repeated the scenario for 15 minutes playing notifications on and off and stimulating the speakers; I observed a fast battery drain along with overheat ( Battery Sense displayed -41% / hour with brightness medium ) and my battery went from 72% to 58% which is odd. I've always had mediocre battery performance with moderate usage and excellent standby time so my battery is not defective nor my device is.
Also if you play an MP3 whatsoever and you keep pressing Vol Up or Vol Down, the sound will distort until you stop pressing.
It could be a reason why sometimes battery drains way faster than it should as I sometimes receive 90-100 notifications per hour ( Mail exchange + whatsapp + facebook chat etc.. )
    **Brightness
You don't want to count on your AutoBrightness settings in WP8 do you ? Usually in a sunny day, if you go outside, your phone should increase the brightness and reduce it back when you go indoor.
With WP8 it's not the case. It's only working one way. When you are already indoor and go out while using your phone, it will indeed increase the brightness. However, If you are in using your phone with full brightness and move to a dark place, it will not reduce the brightness unless you lock the screen and unlock it.
Now what happens here is a disaster to the battery in my opinion. If you are moving around at night and your proximity sensor gets exposed directly to a light from a random source ( lamp above you whatsoever ) it will increase the brightness while you're using your phone but wont decrease it back once you move.
You will probably not notice that the screen brightness has increased if the background is black but it will drain your battery much faster.
Remember, although it might look like Autobrightness is ON but in reality the system will consider what has been set in the manual settings to adjust the brightness accordingly. That being said, those values probably will be the threshold. If set to medium, in a sunny day outside, WP8 will increase the brightness to medium as a maximum or so.
    ** Battery
Now this one is quite strange but it looks like WP8 battery meter isn't accurate at all. I did many recharging-discharing cycles from 2% to 100% leaving it for hours on power but it looks like WP8 doesn't give you accurate numbers. After unplugging the device from full charge, I left the screen on for 10 minutes to lock : the percentage remaining  was still at 100%.then started decreasing slowing to 96% after 30 minutes. I left my phone idle on standby for another 30 minutes and found the battery still at 95%. Played with the device for around 10 minutes and it dropped to 87% ( browsing app store no intensive tasks involved )
Now the suprising thing is that when I hit 17% after hours, I had to reboot the device to find that the battery remaining jumped back to 39%. This is quite odd.
One possible explanation in my opinion is that WP8 uses an algorithm to estimate the percentage of battery remaining based on your usage history ( could be last 30 minutes or hour ) and displays the remaining percentage which doesn't look accurate if anything. A potential reason to why some people excluding those with overheat issue, are reporting mixed battery life observation. One day the battery seem to drain faster than the other one.
Note that this is my own observation based on several experiments and tests of two Lumia 920 devices.

    Here's how this forum works:
Original poster reports a battery/stability/heating/GPS issue
Someone suggests to do a soft reset
Original poster reports having done that, it helped for a while, and now the issues are back
Now someone suggests the OP to take backups of their data on the phone and do a hard reset.
OP does this and spends a long time setting the phone back up to their liking only to find that the issues are still there
OP is told to contact Nokia Care and hope for best
Has anyone had their issues permanently fixed by doing a soft or a hard reset?
I'm doing a hard reset on my Lumia 920 as we speak so I can take it to Nokia Care and so far it has had the turning cogs going for 13 hours. I'm afraid of interrupting the process, but surely it's not supposed to take this long.
