Export as css styles page

Following through Short and Green's book I'm at page 119
where I'm learning about exporting css styles.
From the dropdown under files and exort I do not see the
title dialog box nor can I find it anywhere

  • Dreamweaver CSS styles page goes blank after I preview in browser

    Often, after I have previewed in browser, when I return to my CSS styles sheet it is blank. I need to then close Dreamweaver - it then crashes and reopen. This happens to often making it difficult to use dreamweaver. Any ideas other than re-installing or upgrading?
    Thanks
    adam

    Hi Ken,
    Unfortunately, this problem didn't go away with the re-install. It occurs maybe once every 5-10 previews.
    I have Dreamweaver CS5.5 and Windows 7 on my PC. Once the styles sheet blanks after I preview in browser I need to close Dreamweaver (at which point it crashes and I need to do it through Task Manager) and load up again.
    Regards,
    Adam

  • CSS style -Background not showing ?

    hi everybody ,
    first of all i'm quite new to Dreamweaver and webdesign word so ... sorry if i make mistakes
    when trying to prewiew my site , or in dreamweaver itself , i cant see my background (is a .png file made whit photoshop , a simple gradient whit some effects)
    i tryed to use the site manage , and set the image default folde , but this didn't resolved anything !
    this is my HTML code (oh yes , i'm writing the site in HTML5):
    <!doctype html>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <link href="CSS/SitoCSS.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="Principale"></div>
    </body>
    </html>
    And the CSS style page:
    @charset "utf-8";
    /* CSS Document */
    body {
              background-color: #03F;
              background-image: url(Images/sfondo.png);
              background-repeat: no-repeat;
              margin-left: 0px;
              margin-top: 0px;
              margin-right: 0px;
              margin-bottom: 0px;
    #Principale {
              font-family: "Palatino Linotype", "Book Antiqua", Palatino, serif;
              background-color: #000;
              float: left;
              height: auto;
              width: 901px;
    thank you all
    Bye !

    Without seeing the live page its difficult to analyse BUT here's a couple of things you could look at:
    1) Is the name of your folder really Images with a cap 'I' or is it images with a lower case 'i' ?
    Images/sfondo.png
    2) Is your png file saved as RGB and not CYMK color space?
    3) Looking at what you have posted the path to your bg image is probably incorrcet
    background-image: url(Images/sfondo.png);
    Should be: (note the ../ infront of the Images folder name):
    background-image: url(../Images/sfondo.png);

  • How do I use the same css style but different attributes, Without affecting another page.

    Hey everyone,
    I am using the "NivoSlider", for my dreamweaver page but I am not sure how to tell styles that one page has one attribute and the other one will have a different attribute.
    For example: in my "about us" I have a small slideshow with its own pictures. I then put  a gallery page with its own pictures, yet, I want to make that slideshow box larger without affecting the other small slideshow.
    I am using just one Style.CSS for the slideshow.
    Anyways, is their a way to tell tell the code that one page is going to be a different width then the other?
    Thank you!

    Embedded CSS rules take priority over styles in external style sheets.   So you can add page specific rules between your document's <head> tags and after all other links to external CSS files.
    <style>
         page specific rules here....
    </style>

  • Applying a CSS style to an existing web page

    Hi all.
    I have recently updated the look of one of my web pages in my site. I'm looking to update the look of the other pages in my site as well to the same style/look. I have a CSS style saved as  "main layout" that I would like to use to apply the same look my existing pages. I'm working in Dreamweaver CS4. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? I realize that, because the existing page already has a layout applied to it, that the look may not be exactly the same, and that's fine, I can work with it from there if I can get it to that point. I feel like there should be an obvious answer to this, but i can't find one.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    This is one of my old pages.

  • CSS styles disappear in new template-based pages

    hello: having some trouble. i've created a template for a new website and everything looks ok, but when i attempt to create a new page based on the template, all the css styles i've created disappear. i have a hunch it has something to do with the "body" stlye overriding everything else.
    any suggestions are much appreciated.

    The first suggestion I would have is to make sure the css that is being linked is not in an editable region on the template.  Next, make sure the paths are correct.  If both are in order you may need to post the template code.

  • Export to Fixed_Layout EPUB: Paragraph Styles not exporting to CSS class tags

    Hi,
    As it says, my Paragraph Styles aren't exporting to CSS class tags with a Fixed Layout EPUB.
    ...But Object Styles are working ok.
    Seems to work ok when exporting to HTML or Reflowable EPUB... just not Fixed Layout.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers
    Forgot to say: Mac OSX 10.8(?) Adobe Indesign CC 2014

    Hi... it was 10.0.7
    Updated to 10.1 & wahoo - it works now.
    Will mark your answer correct as it prompted me to update.
    Cheers

  • Why do I have two of the same CSS style sheets on my page?

    I created my index page using a 3 column layout, and I brought in one of the sample css style sheets.  Now I have 3 css style sheets for my page:
    1)  thrcolfxdhdr.css
    2)  samplegreenyellow.css (I changed the name of the sample)
    3)  level3_3.css
    The last two have all the same .header .footer, etc.
    When I make a change in #2 it doesn not change anything on the page.
    When I make a change in #3, it does make a change.
    Do I need both.  Right now I am making every change twice!  Can I delete one?  If so, which one?
    Thanks.

    To see if you can do without one of the stylesheets, go to the head of your document (not the stylesheet) in Code View.
    Find one of the link statements (<link href=...etc.) and 'comment it out'. If your page functions without it, you can safely remove the link from your page. If you lose some styles but not all, you will need to spend a little more time with it.
    If your two stylesheets are actually identical, you can remove one with no harm done. Also remove the link and delete the stylesheet itself.
    If there are slight differences (you can find them by viewing them both in Code View, Tile Vertically in the Window menu), add the differences to one of the stylesheets and then delete the other.
    You might be able to compare the two stylesheets quickly in the CSS Styles Panel (but not with either link commented out) while your html page is open, but you won't see details side-by-side there.
    To answer your question (in passing!), the reason you did not see changes in your page when you changed Stylesheet #2 is because Stylesheet #3...called after Stylesheet #2...cancelled out all the changes you had made in Stylesheet #2. Then when you made changes in #3, they were NOT cancelled out by #2 because #3 came AFTER #2 in being called. Precedence is what the Cascade is all about.

  • CSS styles deleted from entire site's pages

    Out of nowhere today my styles are not showing up in my
    DESIGN VIEW in DW. When i look in the FILES>CSS STYLES window
    the CSS files are nowhere to be found. But, when i look in the code
    view of the html file i see this:
    @import url("../images/HC_Banner/HC_Banner.css");
    @import url("../DeptLayout.css");
    So they are in the code. And when i preview the page it
    previews with the styles in tact. So, i guess i am just dealing
    with the design view not showing the styles? When i import the CSS
    styles the view corrects itself and the layout is fine, with all
    styles applied appropriately. So do i have to go through every page
    in teh site and re-import the CSS styles to correct teh DESIGN
    VIEW? Is tehre a setting i accidentally de-activated? What's up?
    Thanks for any help.

    The code listed first is before in did the CSS STYLE import, the code after is after i imported  the CSS STYLE files. The page displays the proper styles when uploaded and viewed in a browser, it's just that the DW design view doesn't display it in DW until i re-attach teh CSS files.

  • Problem with Css styles not showing in live view or when i browse

    I am using Mac osx 10.6 and building website with Dreamweaver CS5.  Sometimes div tags i create not showing styles or rendering in live view or when I browse but  showing in design view. I looked in dreamwever faq and they talk about not showing in design view to toggle the display styles. That is not the problem becuase it is check marked and I tried turning off and turning on and made no difference.I am using firefox browser.
    It happened before the other day too. But all of my other pages in this site that i have created the same way building with div tags and css styles. So not sure what the problem is. Maybe someone has a suggestion here.

  • Safari 5.0.3 not loading CSS style sheets 1st time through

    When I go to my ecommerce site's https payment screen, the page HTML loads OK but the formatting is missing (so the screen is really messed up). If I hit the page re-load function the page re-loads with all the formatting corrected. It behaves the same with both the Mac and Widows versions of Safari 5.0.3. The problem did not occur on earlier versions of Safari (i.e., the Mac I use for testing the site worked perfectly on the now problematic page until I upgraded to the latest version of Safari).
    The problematic page works fine with all the other browsers that I have tried (IE7, IE8, Firefox, Chrome)
    My guess is that it has something to do with some @import url("css style sheet") directives that are imbedded at the beginning of the master style sheet for the page.
    This problem will stop all Safari 5.0.3 users from navigating our site so it is quite serious.
    Any help on this issues would be greatly appreciated.

    Further investigation has revealed that the following error message is being generated within Safari during the first time the that the page is loading,
    "Refused to load from document base URL. URL found within request."
    The <base> directive in the HTML, in this instance, is referring to a different URL than the one that the page is running from. The page with the problem is running on a remote server and back referencing to the home server for the <base> reference. This fails when the page first loads but seems to be accepted if a page-reload is done. It also works on all other browsers that have been tested.
    Is this related to a security setting in the browser?

  • I messed up my CSS styles, should I just start over?

    I've been working on a template for a couple weeks. And I changed a couple CSS styes by creating new ones. I didn't really know what I was doing, and now my template's navigation bar has disappeared and my main background has shortened up and is completely out of sync with the text. Is there anyway I can restore my original css styles or do I have to start completely over?
    Thank you for your help.
    EDIT:
    http://img685.imageshack.us/i/dreeamweaver.jpg/
    Here you can see a visual of what's happened. All of my pages are now like this. Do you think I can fix this?

    when I preview it in design mode in Dreamweaver the nav bar is gone and background is shortened. How is this happening?
    Viewing anything in DW's design view is not the best way to judge your website.  You should always use "Preview in browser" functionality.  I normally go to:
    File >> Preview in browser
    and select FF4 first and then IE8  (that is all I have on my machine).  These two browsers will cover 90% of the user base in this world.

  • Using Column Value in CSS Style for Column in Report

    I am trying to apply a CSS style (background color) to a column in a report based on another column.
    So for the Column attributes for a specific column, I would like to be able to add this to the 'CSS Style' Field under the group, "Column Formatting":
    background-color:#BKG_COLOR#;
    It doesn't seem to be taking my column value, which is #daf2ea
    In the CSS Style Field, if I change it to: background-color:#daf2ea - then it works.
    So it doesn't seem to take my column value of #BKG_COLOR" in the CSS Style field.
    Any ideas? Do I need to use the 'HTML Expression' field instead, and how would I do that?
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi,
    that's correct, custom report templates will do.
    I find them sometimes quite limited, though. And I always ask myself "how would I do it without APEX", because there's often a lean jQuery solution that affords less coding.
    If you employ a so called "marker class" that depends on your colour value, you could begin like in the previous answer and enter the follwing into HTML Expression:
    &lt;span class="#BKG_CLASS#"&gt;#THE_COLUMN_I_WANT_TO_SHOW#&lt;/span&gt;
    That means you would not query a plain color, but some name that can act as a CSS marker, like
    select THE_COLUMN_I_WANT_TO_SHOW
          , case when THE_COLUMN_I_WANT_TO_SHOW > 100 then 'hotColor' else 'coldColor' end as BKG_CLASS
      from my_tableIn the page's Function and Global Variable Declaration, you'd enter
    function colorMyReport () {
      apex.jQuery('.hotColor').closest('td').css('background-color','#FAA');
    }And under Execute when Page Loads, you enter:
    colorMyReport();There's only one challenge, of course, when the report is paged via AJAX, because the script would only run once (on the first page shown).
    But if this is a solution for you, I'd be pleased to show you how to overcome this. Just let me know.
    Hope there is no typo in my typing, because I have to catch my train now :-)
    Bye!

  • CSS Style Sheet Link Recursive Error?

    I am trying to link a css style sheet to a new root file. When I try to link the css sheet I get an error - A recursive style import was found while trying to add Check Magazine.css. Please resolve this error by editing the file in an external text editor and try again.
    What does this mean?  I looked up recursive style everywhere and there is no explanation.  I don't know how to fix.  The answer I found on these forums mentioned an @import statement error but I dont even have any @import statemensts in my style sheet this style sheet is part of the Getting Started tutorial on this website.
    @charset "utf-8";
    #container{
    width: 968px;
    background: #FFFFFF;
    margin: 0 auto;
    padding-left: 10px;
    padding-right: 10px;
    overflow: hidden;
    This is my code, can you help?

    This is my index.html code, I am so lost as to what to do to get rid of this stupid error.  My style sheet is not linked so of course it is useless and I have to code on both documents since the code doesnt show up automatically on the Style sheet when I add something to the index page

  • Drag and Drop in CSS Styles Panel

    So, I am going through Dreamweaver CS5 Classroom in a Book. In lesson 6, pages 106 through109, it tells you to drag and drop rules in the CSS Styles Panel into a certain order.  I can't seem to get it to work for me.  Am I missing something?

    What do u mean by saying this?? Drag & Drop is possible for
    components example Jtree , jtable .These are placed on containers like JApplet, Applet or frame .
    So the answer is yes !
    there is a seprate package devoted to Drag & Drop.
