Export data from a table (not a bi query) to pdf
Hi experts,
I would like to know the way to export data in VC 7.0 from a table to a pdf. This table is generated NOT from a BI query but from an SQL using connection to Oracle DBMS.
Thank you all

[b]export data from a table to a csv or .txt file[/b]
hi plz i need help in how to export data from a table to a csv or .txt file
If you are using TOAD, then you can execute the statement like SELECT * FROM TABLE1
Then, you can go to Output Grid and you can say save as and you can save it as you want, excel, tab delimited or whatever.
Thanx,

Export data from a table to text file using srcipt task
Hi
i am new to SSIS
i have to export data from a table and append it into a existing file through SSIS script task
please help
Thanks
UmeshHi Umesh,
The data structure of the source table and the structure of the destination file are the same, right? Is the destination file a flat file? Do you have to do it through Script Task? If the destination file is a flat file, this can be done easily by using
the stock tasks/components other than .NET code. In the Data Flow Task, we choose the appropriate source adapter (such as OLE DB Source or ADO.NET Source) to extract data from the source table, perform transformation if necessary, and then load to the destination
file via a Flat File Destination. When setting up the Flat File Destination, uncheck the “Overwrite data in the file” option so that the extracted data will be appended to the existing file.
If you need to implement it through Script Task/Component indeed, you may benefit from the following code examples:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8070163/how-to-add-custom-footer-to-an-ssis-flat-file-seperate-component-or-script-tas
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8467326/add-header-and-footer-row-flat-file-ssis
If you need further help about the script, I suggest that you ask a new question in .NET forums where you can get more dedicated support:

Export data from database table before database migration
Hello,
We are planning to migrate our SAP ERP 6 Ehp4/NW7.01 from Oracle 11.2 to IBM DB2 v. 9.7 database. During test migrations I have established that we spend a lot of time for one particular table (COEP). Because we donu2019t have possibility to archive this table before migration I have an idea to export data from previous years from this table to the file system (using an ABAP report), delete those data from table before migration and then after migration, import back to the database from the file system.
Does anybody have any concerns or suggestions about this idea?
Thank you for your answers
AndrejHello Andrej,
I strongly do not recommend to do so.
I am not sure whether technically this could work at all..
Even it if would work .. In order to really save time, the export and the import would have to be a dirty one (meaning the system is operational and in production). With this there is a high risk to produce inconsistencies on this table. And you most likely will receive no support if something unforeseen happens and you end with problems.
Also your approach (if it should work at all) , would have to be tested thoroughly by you , also protecting the table from any changes.
I do not believe that this can save any effort compared to implementing advanced migration techniques like table splitting.
On top, you would go high risk to end with an unsupported system, with not using official migration procedures

Can we export DATA from all tables in a schema?

This is pretty much what you need.

v_sql varchar2(1000);
IN_OWNER_NAME VARCHAR2(100) := 'AP' ; -- SCHEMA NAME

v_col_tbl t_col_name;
BEGIN
FOR i in
(SELECT object_name

AND object_type ='TABLE'
and rownum < 2)
LOOP
v_sql := 'SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ' || i.object_name ;
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_sql INTO V_COUNT;
if v_count > 0 then
v_sql := 'SELECT * FROM ' || i.object_name ;
select column_name
bulk collect

from DBA_TAB_COLUMNS
WHERE TABLE_NAME = I.OBJECT_NAME

-- start selecting the column and exporting using the column names selected.
end if;
if v_col_tbl.count > 0 then

loop
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_lINE(v_col_tbl(i));
end loop;
end if;

END LOOP;

about it ?
Can we extract data only from an Oracle8 database, or can we

Start by downloading the XML SQL Utility and make sure you have
the approriate JDBC 1.1 drivers installed for your database.
There are samples which will get you going included in the
archive.

Issues in exporting data from SAP tables in SE16 to excel
1.How can I save an sap table (displayed through SE16) in ECC6 into a pivot table in excel. [ I have seen this option in R/3 4.7, but do not see it in ECC.]
2.How can I copy all the rows of a 3000 row SAP table in SE16 and paste the values into excel. I need to do this in one shot and not page by page.
3.What option do I need to select inorder to preserve the formating of the values while saving as a local file in a spreadsheet format. All the values with leading zeros,like company codes gets saved with only their numeric portion when I save a SAP table as a local file. for eg company code 0001 gets saved in excel as just 1,company code 0056 gets saved as 56 etc. How do I prevent this? What option do I need to set in SAP in order for the values to be downloaded as is, without any truncation of leading zeros.1. I don't know. How about creating a pivot after exporting data
2. System->List->Save->local file->clipboard
Then paste whole lot in Excel
3. This is a problem with Excel, not SAP. SAP exports with leading zeroes.
You could export as flat file & import into Excel into a spreadsheet with an appropriate numbering format. -

Exporting Data from one table to another
How do I do this. I'm truly a novice DBA in training. Can someone please help me
Sandra,
What is it you are trying to do?
If you want to create a copy of the table under a different schema then import using
FROMUSER and TOUSER parameters. (If the table
exists in the instance you want the copy in you can do the following:
CREATE TABLE <new table_name> AS
SELECT <field names or * for all fields>
FROM <existing table_name>
Hope this helps,

Issue to export data from sql to excel
I have MS SQL 2008 Developer version and visual studio 2008. I'm using SSIS Import and Export Wizard on the VS2008 to create a simple package to export data from a table using a sql query to excel file (.xlsx), but I got the following
error messages:
[Destination - Query [37]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E21.
[Destination - Query [37]] Error: Cannot create an OLE DB accessor. Verify that the column metadata is valid.
[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: component "Destination - Query" (37) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202025.
The SQL query is
SELECT [BusinessEntityID]
,[PersonType]
,[NameStyle]
,[Title]
,[FirstName]
,[MiddleName]
,[LastName]
FROM [AdventureWorks2008].[Person].[Person]
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
A Fan of SSIS, SSRS and SSASOr another way is to save the package created by Export Import wizard, open it in BIDS and add a Derived column task before the Excel destination to do explicit casting of the columns to your required unicode datatypes.

How to delete the data from partition table
Hi all,
Am very new to partition concepts in oracle..
here my question is how to delete the data from partition table.
is the below query will work ?
delete from table1 partition (P_2008_1212)
we have define range partition ...
or help me how to delete the data from partition table.
Thanks
Sree874823 wrote:
delete from table1 partition (P_2008_1212)This approach is wrong - as Andre pointed, this is not how partition tables should be used.
Oracle supports different structures for data and indexes. A table can be a hash table or index organised table. It can have B+tree index. It can have bitmap indexes. It can be partitioned. Etc.
How the table implements its structure is a physical design consideration.
Application code should only deal with the logical data structure. How that data structure is physically implemented has no bearing on application. Does your application need to know what the indexes are and the names of the indexes,in order to use a table? Obviously not. So why then does your application need to know that the table is partitioned?
When your application code starts referring directly to physical partitions, it needs to know HOW the table is partitioned. It needs to know WHAT partitions to use. It needs to know the names of the partitions. Etc.
And why? All this means is increased complexity in application code as this code now needs to know and understand the physical data structure. This app code is now more complex, has more moving parts, will have more bugs, and will be more complex to maintain.
Oracle can take an app SQL and it can determine (based on the predicates of the SQL), which partitions to use and not use for executing that SQL. All done totally transparently. The app does not need to know that the table is even partitioned.
This is a crucial concept to understand and get right. -
Export Data to Excel columns not in sequence
Hi experts,
I have a question here.
I tried to export data (via System Action 'Export Data') from a table which my data service generated. However, when I paste the data into Excel, the sequence is all messed up.
E.g.
Layout of Table in the iView:
Personnel_number
Org Unit
Position
Start Date
End Date
Layout of Table when pasted in Excel (Messed up sequence):
End Date
Start Date
Org Unit
Position
Personnel_number
Is there any reason and solution for that? Help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
DamienHi Shay, thanks for the information.
I've gotten reply from SAP that the wrong sequence of columns will be rectified if we use SPS 16.
We'll be doing some test when our server is patched.

How to export some data from the tables of an owner with integrity?
Hi to all,
How to export some data from the tables of an owner with integrity?
I want to bring some data from all tables in a single owner of the production database for development environment.
My initial requirements are: seeking information on company code (emp), contract status (status) and / or effective date of contract settlement (dt_liq_efetiva) - a small amount of data to developers.
These three fields are present in the main system table (the table of contracts). Then I thought about ...
- create a temporary table from the query results table to contract;
- and then use this temporary table as a reference to fetch the data in other tables of the owner while maintaining integrity. But how? I have not found the answer, because: what to do when not there is the possibility of a join between the contract and any other table?
I am considering the possibility of consulting the names of tables, foreign keys and columns above, and create dynamic SQL. Conceptually, something like:
select r.constraint_name "FK name",
r.table_name "FK table",
r.column_name "FK column",
up.constraint_name "Referencing name",
up.table_name "Referencing table",
up.column_name "Referencing column"
from all_cons_columns up
join all_cons_columns r
using (owner, position), (select r.owner,
r.constraint_name fk,
r.table_name table_fk,
r.r_constraint_name r,
up.table_name table_r
from all_constraints up, all_constraints r
where r.r_owner = up.owner
and r.r_constraint_name = up.constraint_name
and up.constraint_type in ('P', 'U')
and r.constraint_type = 'R'
and r.owner = 'OWNERNAME') aux
where r.constraint_name = aux.fk
and r.table_name = aux.table_fk
and up.constraint_name = aux.r
and up.table_name = aux.table_r;
-- + Dynamic SQL
If anyone has any suggestions and / or reuse code to me thank you very much!
After resolving this standoff intend to mount the inserts in utl_file by a table and create another program to read and play in the development environment.

My thanks in advance,

Well, I am working with release 9.2.0.8.0. But the planning is migrate to 10g this year. So my questions are:
With Data Pump can export data just from tables owned for me (SCHEMAS = MYOWNER) parameterizing the volume of data (SAMPLE) and filters to table (QUERY), right? But parameterizing a contract table QUERY = "WHERE status NOT IN (2,6) ORDER BY contract ":
1º- the Data Pump automatically searches for related data in other tables in the owner? ex. parcel table has X records related (fk) with Y contracts not in (2,6): X * SAMPLE records will be randomly exported?
2º- for the tables without relation (fk) and which are within the owner (MYOWNER) the data is exported only based on the parameter SAMPLE?
Once again, thank you,
Philips
