Export problems and more!

To whomever this may concern:
(Rant start): Oct. 27th, 2011 was a terrible day. It was the day that my Macromedia 2004 MX Flash quit working. It forced spend an huge amount of  money on Adobe's Flash CS 5.5 which has not impressed me at all. It wasn't the fact that it limits one to 16000 frames of animation or the fact that it limits you to importing a 8100 pixel width of an image. Nope. I was able to deal with those problems. However, the straw that broke the camel's back came when all the work, creativity and love I put into my animations could not even be enjoyed outside of the stupid limitations of the (Adobe) flash timeline. The quicktime export (a H.264 compression) either dropped frames or duplicated them!! This resulted in an unsmooth, jittery and UNprofessional presentation!! Before spending on this mediocore software I made sure of the system requirements: OS 10.5.8 (check), 1GB of Memory (I have 3GB... check), Quicktime 7.6.2 (I have 7.7... check). I played by the rules and when I spoke to the Tech Support representative (who's English was just as mediocore as this software) he told me he'd get back to me. It's been 5 days and my problem is not solved. My projects have been delayed and I am losing clients as well as my patience. To the "fatcats" of Adobe: I know I am raindrop in your huge pail of an empire. You've trained your minons to calmly repond with "I am sorry. We no longer service Marcromedia" but Iet me remind you that small drops can overfill a pail. I am one of those drops. (Rant ended).
Problem: My animation is a piano music scrolling from right to left at 30 fps. The bitmaps are approximantly 6000px(w) x 197(h) and all under 300k. These bitmaps have been converted into symbols for them to tween across the stage. There are 16 bitmaps total and each bitmap takes under 50 seconds to scroll from one side to the other until another bitmap takes over to keep the flow of music uninterupped. The timeline (as well as the Quicktime H.264 export) is plagued with short stutters, jittering and is unsmooth. I have used smoothing in the bitmap properites. I have restarted my computer and exported without any applications on. I have reduced the bitmaps to gifs. (Hell... I even unplugged my internet modem!!!). Nothing I do seems to provide me with an smooth animation!!!
Here are my specificaions:
MAC OS: 10.5.8
Quicktime: Pro 7.7
Memory: 3GB
I have no hope that Adobe can help... well they are providing a Forum so I should give them some credit.

kglad.
Let me, first, thank you for taking the time to help me out.
I'm afraid the bitmaps in my animation have been converted into graphics, not movieclips.
I could go ahead and convert them.
However, at the risk of imposing, I would please ask of you to explain how to
"enable the cacheAsBitmap property of [my] tweening symbols".
My bitmap is called: F1 Where
I belive the code is: F1.cacheAsBitmap = true;
Where do I type this code? In the behaviors panel? In the actions panel? To the keyframe?
Please forgive my ignorance. MX 2004 never required codes for simple left to right tweening.

  • Portal Import/Export problems and questions

I recently tried to promote our dev stuff to the prod using both the exp/imp scripts (following the Imp/Exp whitepaper) and the built-in application export. The first time went without a hitch; however, after a few report updates in dev, I tried it again, and now I can't even get the Welcome page to appear. (Yes, I did import that page). The page finishes loading but nothing shows up on screen. I can login in to the change the DADs but nill to Portal. Any ideas how to even get in to see if the stuff imported?
Along those lines, after searching through these threads, and reading the documentation, I get the general feel that imp/exp are not at 100%. So what would be the procedure to do production promotions? Do I have to delete stuff (apps & pages) on the PROD server, and then import? If so what (apps?, security?, login server?) do I delete?

Thanks for the post Indira. Here are the answers to the questions.
    <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>>What version of the Oracle Portal are you using?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
I am using Oracle Portal version 3.0.6.3.3
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>>Did you make any changes to the Welcome page when you imported it?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
No, I did not make any changes to the Welcome page when I imported it.
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>>When you say that the page comes up blank, did you check the HTML source to see if there is anything in there?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Yes, and there is something in there. Its the W3C tag and <HTML></HTML>. That's it. (more on this below)
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>>What kind of portlets are in the page that you had imported?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
I imported one application (with a combination of Reports, Forms, Dyn Pages, and LOV's), 7 pages with portlets based on all those components in tabbed interfaces on each page. For example, each page has 4 tabs with one portlet (running one of the reports) on each tab.
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>>Are you able to get to the pages that you imported, through the Navigator. Can you edit/customize the page?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Well this is funny, since I couldn't get to anything, I thought I was a goner since I couldn't log in to get to the main page and fix all this, not to mention to see if the app imported at all. So, I went to my DEV box, found out what the page_id was for the out-of-the-box default page, typed it into the URL and I got the Login link. I logged in and I can see that the app imported. I can also see the pages, but with no portlets. When I try to add portlets, I get USER DEFINED ERRORS galore. So I have to recreate the pages from scratch (not a very good thing to be doing in PROD)
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>>Try creating another page in your new prod instance and making that your default home page. Please can you check if that is working.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
As I mentioned above, this is basically what I had to do. I did another promotion last night, and since the pages are what I thought the trouble was, I didn't import them. I just imported sso, sec, and the app. To my dismay, the same thing happened. I call portal home and I get a blank screen (empty HTML tags). So there I was, well into the night, creating pages in PROD so that we could have a site to show today.
Since someone else gave me the CD to install, I wasn't aware of the version I had and its bugs/issues. I have started the process of upgrading versions, but would like to get a solid idea of whats going with promotions before I do.
    Thanks,
    Rich

  • Web Album Export Problem and Feature request

I find that exporting a Smart Web Album is painfully slow. It's so slow that it's practically unusable. By my anecdotal estimate, it's about 10 times slower than Lightroom.
    Anyone else seeing this behavior?
Also, as long as I'm at it, Apple needs to allow Aperture to upload web albums directly to an external site that is not a .mac site. How can Aperture be called a PRO app without this ability? Yes, I know if I wait forever for a web album to export files I can ftp on my own, but why not build it into Aperture (like Lightroom does).
    -paul

Just to be sure I understand the semantics. In 1.5 what are now called web pages were called web galleries. Now web galleries refer to a new feature that was first introduced in iPhoto08.
If you are talking about Galleries, then that's .mac only because so much of that functionality is server side.
If your talking about web pages, your going to have to go "under the hood" and create links between them. I know no way to do this in Aperture. You need to know HTML/CSS or have a wysiwyg editor like Dreamweaver.
What I did was create a master page in Dreamweaver that linked to the various index pages from my Aperture web pages. You can do this w/o editing the pages that Aperture created, but you won't have cross navigation- meaning that they won't link to each other or back to the main page. The only way I know to do that is to add a menu to the pages created by Aperture.
In Dreamweaver, you can create a menu as a "Library Item" then put it on each of the pages.
There may be a more elegant solution, but I don't know what it is.

  • [SOLVED]Video problems and more

Some months ago, I posted about my video problems in trying to install Arch on several different computers.  Getting no good results I gave up, but recently made another attempt.  Right now, I have Arch installed on my test computer which is a MSI Celeron, with onboard S3 ProSavage video, one monitor. I do not use a desktop, only the JWM window manager, no icons, wallpaper or any other crap.  Here, Arch is great. Ultimately, I want to get Arch set up on my workhorse which is an Asus P4, with no onboard video using dual monitors.  I might add that this ASUS board, with two old nVidia cards, AGP and PCI ran dual monitors with FreeBsd and Debian.
    Herein lies the problem:
I want Arch NOT to mess with the video until I start xorg regardless of whatever AGP and PSI card I might be using.  Please stick with the BIOS resolution.  This is how it was with every other linux I have installed.  I have tried several video cards, AGP nVidia, ATI, and Matrox, as well as PCI nVidia and ATI, all with different results. Using most of the cards, I get a console (no, haven't messed with xorg yet) that appears in the upper left corner so small I can't read it.  Or else, there's a white square that obliterates the upper left of the console,  The only time this doesn't happen is if i use the matrox AGP card or an ATI PCI card not in conjunction with another card.
I read to use the vga=xxx in the grub menu list as well as kernel boot option set to nomodset, but either I don't know how to do this, or else it doesn't work for me.  What is KMS, and how to use it?
I want to resolve this issue before attempting to get dual monitors set up on the Asus board.  Any help is appreciated

    KMS
I don't quite get it: does the picture get messed up as you described after the kernel loads? Do you have normal BIOS logo / text before the bootloader starts?
As Arch takes over the boot process, the resolution becomes somewhat higher, and then when comes the logon screen it's so small, in the upper left, that I can hardly read it.  This problem is well documented on the search engines.  I have read where some users want a higher console resolution, and others want a lower resolution.  I have installed Slack, FreeBSD, Debian, TinyCore and others, without this problem.  Apparently, Arch is deciding what screen resolution a user should have in the console.  This would be more understandable were it not that there is no consistancy between various video cards. Yes, I'm guessing that this happens after the kernel loads.  But how come the discrepancy between different video cards?

  • Installation problems and more.

i have a macbook that is currently running leopard and vista by bootcamp, a few weeks ago when i booted up and went to select my mac os, the screen wouldn't come up, power on > option > and then nothing, no choices of HD's just a blank grey screen, i've tried everything to get mac up and running (vista works fine), after many failed attempts, i decided to just erase everything and start over.
so, i went to reinstall tiger, then leopard, then bootcamp, then vista, but while i was trying to install tiger about half way through it will just stop installing and say, a error has occurred, installation failed. so i restarted the computer and tried two more times and the same thing just happened again.
i called apple support and the woman i was speaking to couldn't help me, she was only telling me things i already knew.
    please help.
    thank you.
by the way, this is not a new computer, nor new software, and it has all been used before and i've never had this problem until now.

Hi kaiileen, and a warm welcome to the forums!
It sounds like a failing Hard Drive.
If you have no data you need to save on that HD, then...
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the Erase tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Highlight the drive, select Partition Tab, then Format type... MacOS Extended Journalled, select the Security Options button, choose Zero Out Data, Erase... after completion hopefully you'll be able to install.
after highlighting the drive, click on the Partition tab, Options button will be down below...

(To Install OSX on an IntelMac the Drive it needs the GUID Partitioning scheme mentioned at the bottom.)

  • Audio problems and more after updating to 10.4.3

After taking an OS X update to 10.4.3 from 10.4.2, I've got static instead of audio. This happens no matter what program I'm using: Bias Peak 4.14, iTunes 6.0.1, Apple DVD Player 4.6, QuickTime 7.0.3. I'm even getting static on system sounds (empty trash, delete file, etc). If I open 'Sound' in System Prefs, I'm treated to continuous static...
My sound card settings have not changed - it's an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 running driver version 2.0.4. I've tried contacting M-Audio tech support but they're closed on weekends.
Everything was ok before I took the update. Now i've got the static and other weird problems as well:
If I try to play a .vob file from a commercially pressed DVD using VLC Media Player, I get the following error message "read failed - permission denied". Anything from a recordable DVD is fine (except for the audio).
If I try to backup any file from a commercially pressed DVD, the file doesn't copy and an error message appears: "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items". I double-checked with a DVD that I had previously backed up successfully using the same method and now it doesn't work.
Any thoughts or suggestions will be most welcome.

  • IPod nano with computer connection problems and more

My iPod Nano is always stuck at 1:06am and on the completely wrong date. The time will not change. If I try to change the date and time, it freezes up and I have to do a hard reset so I can get it to function. This problem it has had for quite a while now, and I don't view as a very pressing issue.
The following problem however is new to just yesterday. It impedes me from updating the iPod or adding new music. I added new music to it a month or so ago and yesterday was the first time I have tried to do anything with it on a computer in 2014.
It will not connect to a computer. The moment I try to chord it up, my entire computer runs slower, and iTunes crashes. My computer also doesn't always recognize that it is plugged into the it even though the iPod will have a "Do not disconnect" screen and is charging.
Another interesting thing to note is that I have tried to synch my iPod up to a few different computers and the results are the same, and if you try to shut down or boot up a computer with my iPod attached to it, it won't. It'll stop mid process and refuse to shut down or boot up.
I have followed some of the troubleshooting guides on similar sounding problems to no avail.
I realize  that my iPod is also fairly old as far as iPods go (2008) and I will probably have to just get a new mp3 player. However, I would like to avoid that outcome as long as possible.

first off , i don't think there should be any issues updating the router's firmware on a vista machine....
the other things that you can try are :
changing the MTU size to 1365 ,
under the "advanced wireless settings" subtab, change the beacon interval - 50 , fragmentation and RTS threshold - 2304 ...

  • Startup Problems (and more) with my G5 PowerMac

    OK, here goes...
This started this morning. I came into my office and found that my G5 had finished burning the DVD I had started last night before bed (some avi's in Toast, for what it's worth). Removed the DVD, shut down Toast and tried to drag the avi's to the trash. Instead of behaving normally, this (just to be clear, I mean dragging the avi's to the trash) restarted the dock and "disappeared" any open folders on the right side of the dock (as well as the open folder with the avi's on the desktop) All the folders opened back up on the desktop in a few seconds. I was able to send the other folders back to the dock, but any effort to put the avi's in the trash (one at a time or together, by dragging or right-clicking for the menu) repeated the same scenario.
Then tried to restart, which went normally until the blue bar (in the "Starting OSX window") reached the far right side. At this point, it just hung (although the blue bar still seemed to be "moving"). Tried several more times, same thing.
Then I tried resetting the SMU (unplugged it for half an hour. Didn't try the SMU reset button, as I believed that to be redundant, correct?) -- Nothing. Reset the PRAM -- Nothing.
I then tried an "Archive and Install" from my Tiger DVD. After it does it's thing (well, almost does it's thing - it doesn't finish), it has a "There were errors installing the software" message at the top of the installer window. So again, no luck.
Then I moved on to Disk Utilities and tried a Repair DisK. After writing "Overlapped Extent Allocation" (with a parenthetical file reference) about a thousand times, and "checking multi-linked files", as well as "checking catalog hierarchy" it quickly scrolls to a stop, showing "Volume Bit Map needs minor repair," "Invalid volume free block count," then "Volume Header needs minor repair," followed by 'repairing volume" and "The volume Macintosh HD could not be repaired." Finally, it says "Error: the underlying task reported failure on exit" (as well as some messages about "the (HFS) volume could not be repaired because of an error." The First Aid Failed window says that Disk Utility stopped repairing Macintosh HD because "the underlying task reported failure on exit." And that's all I could think to try.
So, any ideas on how to proceed?
I'll point out, just in case, that this was the original, pre-installed hard drive. I have another internal in there, as well as five externals.
Hoping someone can help, but dreading what I anticipate hearing.
    TIA,
    Warren

    Karl,
This is just a note to say thanks for your help. I don't know if you'll read this, but I thought it would only be polite to make the effort.
In case you're interested, the drive is back up and working. Something you mentioned about using Tech Tool Pro (which I do have) to recover data, sparked a thought about another path to try before giving up and starting over with a clean install.
I went out and picked up a copy of DiskWarrior, and that did the trick. It was able to rebuild the directory, and from there I was able to successfully do an "Archive and Install" from my Tiger DVD. It seems most of the damage to the OS was minor, and it was just one or two of the overlapped files that were the culprits. There are a few minor things I'm still fixing: a few programs that had to be reinstalled, some drivers that needed replacing, fixing the settings for the network and one or two other minor things. However, weighing that against the idea of having to do everything over from scratch makes me feel like I got off very lightly indeed.
There are also a few other benefits that I've accrued: A new, bigger hard drive to use as my startup disc, so I don't have to struggle for space with the old 150GB one; a copy of DiskWarrior (an invaluable program, if there ever was one); and a renewed sense of urgency when it comes to maintaining my Macs. It's all to easy to become complacent when you're using a machine as stable as a Mac. And, also, a great reminder of how insidious the "creeping OS damage" can be. All-in-all,,,
So thanks again for your efforts. This wouldn't have had as happy an ending without your help. I hope you see this.

  • Equium A60: graphic problems and more

ive had so many probs with tis equium a60. it was overheating, stand by wasnt working and now the graffics were messing up! I rung this place pcworld recommended n they said try formatting it (great). so anyway i restored it to the factory settings so it was exactly how it was when i first got it. stand by is now working properly :) but it is still overheating (i mean it really does get hot) and the graffics still are messing up.
what happens is the screen freezes for a few seconds and then it goes to the worst display settings possible, so everything is massive and the colours are all wrong. and a pop up says windows as encountered an error please reboot.
This just happens at random times, i dont understand why ive formatted. I dunno if the graffics card itself is knackered. any help or ideas much appreciated. cheers

    Hi Dave,
I think it must be assumed that your problems stem from the over-heating. It is very common for dust and debris to build up and block the passage of air through the CPU Heat Sink. I would suggest trying to remove any such accumulation either by blowing through the heatsink (towards the cooling fans), or by sucking out any debris with a domestic vacuum cleaner. If all else fails then you can remove the heatsink and clean the dust out before replaceing it. Beware that this may invalidate your warranty.
Normally a thermal trip will shut off the power if it detects the CPU getting too hot, but this does not mean that some other problems may not arise.
If you still have problems with you display after you have dealt with the over-heating issue then please post again.

  • NEW Album Artwork Problem and MORE!

Once I puchased a laptop, I attempted to copy the library on my main computer to the laptop. This worked fine. The problrms arose once I synced my Ipod to my new laptop. After I synced it,  alot of the album artwork is not correctly positioned. What I mean by this: the artwork is with the correct songs, etc. but the actual artwork is all whackey. For example, instead of the artwork having the correct, individual sizes, they are in the same black box no matter what the size of the artwork, meaning artwork that is tall and wide is missing the top and bottom with black boxes on the sides.
That is the best I can explain that.
Another problem arose when I attempted to update my ipod. I got an error (-43) when I updated it on my laptop. After it failing over and over again, I just moved back my stuff from the laptop to the main computer to update it there. Now after I sync it to the main computer, the album artwork is still garbage and glitchy on my ipod. Moreover, I am still getting the error (-43) message.
    *** itunes?
So now im thinking, "well, i'm going to have to save my library somewhere else and sync the ipod without a library." What makes me reluctant is if I move my library, which has the album artwork messed up, will it stay like that after the update considering the music is not being updated with it?
Well, this *****. I have no idea what to do. Why must iTunes have so many problems?

Well, It updated and synced fine. The album artwork sizes were fixed too!
But now the artwork looks add like the pixles are not set in properly....
    Oh well.
Thanks to anyone who read this.

  • Another iPHOTO 11 exporting problem and glitches with PSE 9

I recently upgraded to iPHOTO 11 and PSE 9. I believe my preferences in iPHOTO are set properly for my pictures to be edited in PSE 9 (which is what I want). However, when I double click on a photo in iPHOTO it does not open in PSE 9. If I right click on the photo and select the option to edit in an external editor the photo does open in PSE9 9. Can I set up iPHOTO 11 so that double-clicking on the photo will open it up in PSE 9. With my prior versions of iPHOTO and PSE I could do that.
Most importantly, when I edit a photo in PSE 9 and save the edited photo back to iPHOTO, I am unable to export the edited photo to the SD card. Unedited photos export to the SD card just fine. Any ideas - I'm trying to load several digital frames with photos before Xmas. Thanks in advance.

This may be preaching to the choir but here goes:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's Advanced Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 9 the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
NOTE: If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS/PSE without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in iPhoto". That will let you either edit in iPhoto using the Edit button or Control-clicking on the thumbnail and selecting "Edit in iPhoto" or in PS/PSE by Control-clicking on the thumbnail and selecting "Edit in External Editor" in the Contextual menu.
This way you get the best of both worlds.
    Happy Holidays

  • I keep getting a screen that says firefox exe has encountered and needs to close. If I restore the session I get the same message. These are sites I frequent regularly. How do I fix the problem and more to the point, what is the problem?

This problem started when I reinstalled my operating system and reloaded my programs. Until this point I was having no problems.

Looking to find the problem, I tried using safe mode to find a solution and found that in safe mode I did not encounter any error messages. I have no idea what is happening but I now can get to sites with no problem. Does any one know why?

  • Sleep problems and more

Recently, when I put my imac to sleep manually, it dies after it reaches sleep. Then i have to restart it by holding down the power button- the first time it happened it didn't even work, i had to reset my outlet strip.
It has also caused my external speakers (connected via USB audio interface) to emit a horrible beeping sound, which it never used to do. There have been a few times when it's slept fine. I've never been able to get my imac G5 to deep sleep from the system preferences (nor my previous computer and emac which this was set up from).
I have tried disconnecting all peripheral devices and that hasn't helped. Also run disk utility (says everything is fine) and used Tiger Cache Cleaner on all fronts, including the deep cache clean. And checked everything out with the hardware test- no problem.
A few other issues: a few instances of the grey screen "you must restart your computer" thing (kernel panic?) but not since i ran some of the other maintence. And a few times i've booted up the screen has been "soft", happened just now.
    Third party RAM, BTW.
My computer falls into the repair extension plan for video and power problems, but i don't know if this is related . . .

    Hi ewhite01,
I don't know at this point if you have time to reload the hard drive from scratch, but that may be what you have to do. The permissions storm was caused by the Quark installer. It's a fairly well known bug in version 6.x. What you need to do when installing it is NOT let it install to the Applications folder. Instead, choose the desktop. After the install is complete, then move the Quark folder to the Applications folder. Any other updates (such as 6 to 6.5) can be done there, just not the initial install.

  • Sync problem and more

When I attach my new Ipod to my computer, it indicates it is syncing, but then it shuts off and the Ipod no longer shows up on the device list. Also, there are no playlists listed. Not all of the podcasts I've added to my library appear on the Ipod after synching. What could be the problem?

Have you tried restoring your iPod? Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

  • Memory problems - and more

I was getting 'login window starting' on start up so I started up in safe mode which gave me a message saying 'invalid memory access'. I don't know what to do next - any ideas? I installed some new memory 2 weeks ago but have since taken it out after that message and still nothing. thanks in advance.

Currently away from home so can't get exact details now... but I have 512mb ram and I am doing nothing else but use EyeTV. Also the main channels (BBC1, 2 etc. are the best) as I head more down the freeview scale they get worse! But these main channels create the issues I mentioned above. Even static tv text does not look sharp (however the text that comes up telling me what channel I move to and what is coming up next is crystal clear - I guess this is not transmitted?).
My other thought was that my old crt tv was small, and now I have a 20inch screen and still sit up close it will always look a bit grainy. Is there a standard resolution that tv transmits at?
    thanks
