Export to Excel/PDF

Hi,
I am working with a developer on a web based administration solution and it is all working fine.
And the reports we require are exporting fine, except one in particular that when exported to Excel certain cells take on the width of the cells above, or vice versa.
Is there any tool, that will help in the layout configuration of an excel export.

Hi wood1e,
In Reporting Service, when you export a report into an Excel file, it will merge cells in Excel based on the size of each textbox in the report. Each textbox must be in one cell. If the tablix/textbox are not aligned exactly in the report, it will make the
cells merged in different position and size. Make sure the left and right edges of all report items line up with one another. Making items align and the same width may solve the problem. According to your description, we still get confused about your issue.
Would you like to post some screenshot of your Excel file? It may help us test your case in our local environment. Thank you.

  • Visual Composer Export to Excel/PDF..

    Hello all,
    I have a question regarding using Visual Composer's Web API commands to export to excel/pdf etc. I've read the document "How to Export Data from Visual Composer" (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/47fe4fef-0d01-0010-6f87-ed8ecb479123 ) and applied the steps but that is helpful for an individual data service which I was successful in doing.  In my example, for one view, I have multiple Data services pointing to different reports and have charts/graphs/tables against them. I want to be able to print all the Charts/Graphs in the one view and not individually.
    Does anyone have any insight into this? If you need more information I am more then willing to explain.
    Thank you for your help in advance.

  • WAD: Add export to excel/pdf button?

    Hi all,
    there's a standard component to add a button to export to pdf or excel format?
    Also i have another problem, in some web reports i have graphs in different containers, if i export them to pdf all the graphs in every container is exported, there's a way to customize this and export only the data from the current container?
    Thanks
    Stefano

    Hi Stefano,
    The item you are looking for is a button group. When you define the buttons you can choose eather XLS or PDF and you can also specify which objects you wish to export e.g. your container object.

  • Crystal 9 distribution hangs of export of Excel/PDF

    Previewing a document displays contents OK
    However clicking the envelope button appears to cause a short delay when prompting to save the file and select save as type.#
    Eventually reports that the application has stopped working etc.
    User selected to export to  MSWord and PDF, used different crystal report etc.
    Any ideas please?
    Would such be linked to temporary files etc.

    I moved your thread from Legacy SAP products to here as your description implies that you are using CR 9 from some sort of an application(?).
    Questions;
    Confirm that this is happening from an app, not from the CR designer (CRW32.exe)
    Is this an app you developed or an app that someone developed for you?
    What CR SDK is this app using?
    If this is your app confirm that the app works on your dev computer, but fails once you distribute the app to another computer.
    If on another computer, how was the CR runtime deployed?

  • Failed export to Excel PDF files contain XFA forms cannot save in specified format

    Has this excercise been a waste in time and money. Like my car I will put petrol oil water and air where they need to go but don't care how they make the car work as long as it goes

    Converting forms to fill them in is never a good idea; if they are official forms it can be a catastrophe. Keep the forms as PDF, don't convert.
    XFA forms are ALREADY FILLABLE. If you can't fill it there is a fault.

  • How do I get PDF forms to export to excel in the desired order?

    How do I get PDF forms to export to excel in the desired order?
    Here is what I have done:
    As taken from another post:
    Choose Forms > Manage Form Data > Merge Data Files Into Spreadsheet.
    In the Export Data From Multiple Forms dialog box, click Add Files.
    In the Select file Containing Form Data dialog box, select a file format option in File Of Type option (Acrobat Form Data Files or All Files). Then locate the form files that you want to merge into the spreadsheet, select them, and click Select.
    Repeat the previous step to add form data files that are in other locations, as needed.
    Click Export. Then select a folder and filename for the spreadsheet, and click Save.
    In the Export Progress dialog box, click either View File Now to open the spreadsheet file or Close Dialog to return to Acrobat."
         The problem now is that Adobe populates Excel in ABC order of the form, based off of the name of each box in the form. For example, if my form has three text boxes, named A, B, and C, then Adobe will export to Excel as such:
    Row 1 =         A                              B                              C
    Row 2 =         data entered             data entered              data entered
    where 'data entered' is whatever the user typed into the form boxes. But what if I want a different order for exporting, and I don't want to rename my text boxes? What if I want:
    Row 1 =         C                              B                              A
    Row 2 =         data entered             data entered              data entered   ?
    Is there a way to do this in acrobat x or xi?
    Thanks

    I don't have time to test right now, but there was a change with Acrobat 10 where it exports according to the tab order, which you may have to set manually, so give that a shot. Otherwise, you'll have to process the file after it's exported if you need the fields in a particular order. This wouldn't be too difficult to do with something like a VBS or JS script in Windows.

  • Any ideas on how to merge 2 reports on page to export to Excel or PDF?

    This is for OBIEE 11g (we are currently running 11.1.1.6.8). We have a user requirement to put the prompt selections on each report that is exported to Excel or exported to PDF. This requirement has to do with auditors. We cannot use the Filter Criteria view because we have saved filters that contain other saved filters so not all of the filters are shown. What the users want is to just have the ability to Export to Excel or PDF for one report and add the prompt criteria so that it also shows in Excel or PDF. We know we can use presentation variables and create a narrative view to show all of the prompt criteria. But we don't want to have this in a view in the compound layout of every report on the page (we have many pages with many reports on them). What we would like to do is have the Export (to Excel or PDF) download the prompt criteria (like when you use the printable HTML and printable PDF functionality only we want this for one report). So think of merging the report that is being Exported to Excel or PDF with another report that is built to show the prompt criteria. Is anyone else doing this kind of functionality? Any ideas on how to do this with javascript?
    We created an SR on this to find out if Oracle had some ideas but they did not and said that this is already an enhancement request ( Bug 8242921: ALLOW PROMPTS TO BE DISPLAYED WHEN DOWNLOAD TO EXCEL)
    Any help would be appreciated. Marybeth

    Did u tried the first method? i.e directly exporting the analysis to excel?
    Thanks.

  • Huge (14K pages) PDF Export to Excel gives "Save As Failed To Process" Message

    Using version 11.0.7.79, running Windows
    I have a massive (33.7MB, 13,900 page) PDF that I am trying to convert to HTML or Excel. When I try to export the file to either of these formats the export process will run for a number of minutes and then bomb out with the "Save As Failed To Process" message. I figured that the issue was with the file size, so I extracted a much smaller subset (200 pages) without a problem.
    Since it appears that file size is the problem, does anyone have a suggestion on how to approach the exporting of this huge file? What causes this error message? Any way to get around it (maybe online conversion of the file)?
    I could manually break it up into smaller files, but I'm hoping that there is 1) an easy way to segment the larger files into smaller files via a 3rd party solution (if needed) or 2) another way to export the huge PDF in one fell swoop. On point 1, I don't know if there is a solution that will automatically segment larger PDF's into 500 page segments per PDF file.
    For context, I am brand new to Acrobat Pro, so there could be a practical solution that I am not aware of yet. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

    Yea, this approach is not going to work. Even when I break these down into 1,000 page, 2MB files I get the same "Save As Failed To Process" error message. What causes this message? Not enough memory? How can I resolve it?
    It just doesn't make sense that I can't export basic data to Excel when the actual excel content for 1,000 pages will probably be less that 2MB once it is in Excel. I saved a sample 10 pages and it was 18KB. 100 sample pages was 123KB. I would expect Acrobat to be able to convert these files when I break them down into 1,000 page increments.
    Are there any settings within Acrobat that I should be looking at adjusting? It just seems ridiculous that it is this hard to get Acrobat to do a very basic export for what seems to be a reasonable sized file.

  • Export multi page pdf to excel (searching did not answer my problem)

    I searched the forum and found a few related posts but none have seemed to work for me. I do not use Acrobat much so am not all that familiar with it. I am using Acrobat Professional 8.
    I have a multi page pdf that I want to export to excel. When I choose 'edit > select all' everything highlights. I then right click on the highlighted portion and ask it to 'open table in spread sheet'. It does so but only exports one page of the pdf.
    I have set 'view >page display > single page continuous' but still have had no luck. If someone would help I would greatly appreciate it. Please be specific with menu commands as I may not know where to find something if you just give me the last command.

    Hi,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
    You can print a multiple pages of a single PDF file on one page.
    File - Print - Under page size and handling, click on Multiple and then select pages per sheet accordingly.
    You can print through Adobe PDF Printer which will save a new PDF file with multiple pages on single page.
    Once you have this PDF file, then you can export it to TIFF for your application.
    Let me know if this is what you were looking for.

  • Export table from pdf to excel

    I have been attempting to convert a large table from a pdf file to an Excel worksheet, but I am having no luck. I am working on Adobe 8, and I can't figure out a way to do it. I've tried saving the file as .txt, but this completely screws up the formatting when I open it with Excel. I thought I remembered using a past version of adobe to accomplish this simply by right-clicking on a selected region of the table and selecting "Export to Excel"... where did that option go? I am currently copying and pasting each individual row of the table into Excel in order to keep the formatting, but this is too time consuming. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Use the menu entry 'Open Table in Spreadsheet' in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.

    The repeater tag as well as the grid tag are very useful. But what if we would like to provide functionality for the user export the data shown further to Excel/PDF?
    I looked at http://displaytag.sourceforge.net/ which gives this possibility out of the box.

  • Export data on pdf-form to Excel

    I would need help for exporting data from pdf-form to Execl spreadsheet
    the basic idea is that a pdf-form would be the user interface to collect the data with text boxes / drop-downs (such as "Vendor", "Purchase order number", "Date", "Text" etc.) and after the data is filled on the pdf-form it would be easily exported (with button?) to one certain Excel -file.
    The Excel-file should have similarly named colums and the data from pdf-form would be exported always to the next empty row.
    PDF FORM
    Excel -spreadsheet

    Thanks but this is not quite what I was looking for
    The idea was that the user would fill-in the data on the pdf -form and from there this data would be exported to one named Excel-file ( = data exported always to same Excel - file / to the next empty row)
    So this Excel -file would act as a summary file / database from where the collected data could be easily sorted etc.
    Another issue is that I'm looking for easy solution for the exporting fuction (e.g. button + java script) so that also the "dummy users" could operate this

  • Using OBIEE Scheduler to export and save data in excel/pdf

    Hi
    Is it possible to use obiee scheduler and run particular reports and export the data into excel/pdf and save this file at given location on server.
    env: obiee 11g/linux OS
    Thanks for any ideas.

    Hi,
    Yes it is possible.
    As per my knowledge we don't have such option but we can do one way.
    Using IBOTS you can store specific report and specific time in specific location.
    Note : Using JS script.
    Are you going to implement this way send me your mails id will send you js script for doing this.
    Re: Auto SAVE to excel -- Please refer this thread.
    Create js file using the below script and add this js scrif in your ibot advanced tab.
    var FSO = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
    var foldername = 'D:\IBOT'
    if (FSO.FolderExists(foldername))
    var fileName = foldername + "\\" +Parameter(1);
    var fooFile = FSO.CopyFile(Parameter(0), fileName, true);
    else
    FSO.CreateFolder(foldername);
    var fileName = foldername + "D:\IBOT" + Parameter(1);
    var fooFile = FSO.CopyFile(Parameter(0), fileName, true);

  • How to export sql table data to Excel/PDf using Storedprocedure?

    Hi ,
            I have one table in sqlserver2008R2 that named "Customer" so that table hold the 1 Lac rows. Now I want send this table data to Excel/pdf with Columns using Storedprocedure.
       I have tried this using xp_cmdshell so This is not working for me.
    finally i want to get data in Excel and pdf also.
    Please guide me

    You can actually run an Excel Macro to grab the data from the SQL Server DB.  Below are some samples.
    Sub ADOExcelSQLServer()
    ' Carl SQL Server Connection
    ' FOR THIS CODE TO WORK
    ' In VBE you need to go Tools References and check Microsoft Active X Data Objects 2.x library
    Dim Cn As ADODB.Connection
    Dim Server_Name As String
    Dim Database_Name As String
    Dim User_ID As String
    Dim Password As String
    Dim SQLStr As String
    Dim rs As ADODB.Recordset
    Set rs = New ADODB.Recordset
    Server_Name = "Excel-PC\SQLEXPRESS" ' Enter your server name here
    Database_Name = "Northwind" ' Enter your database name here
    User_ID = "" ' enter your user ID here
    Password = "" ' Enter your password here
    SQLStr = "SELECT * FROM dbo.Orders" ' Enter your SQL here
    Set Cn = New ADODB.Connection
    Cn.Open "Driver={SQL Server};Server=" & Server_Name & ";Database=" & Database_Name & _
    ";Uid=" & User_ID & ";Pwd=" & Password & ";"
    rs.Open SQLStr, Cn, adOpenStatic
    ' Dump to spreadsheet
    With Worksheets("sheet1").Range("a1:z500") ' Enter your sheet name and range here
    .ClearContents
    .CopyFromRecordset rs
    End With
    ' Tidy up
    rs.Close
    Set rs = Nothing
    Cn.Close
    Set Cn = Nothing
    End Sub
    Sub ADOExcelSQLServer()
    Dim Cn As ADODB.Connection
    Dim Server_Name As String
    Dim Database_Name As String
    Dim User_ID As String
    Dim Password As String
    Dim SQLStr As String
    Dim rs As ADODB.Recordset
    Set rs = New ADODB.Recordset
    Server_Name = "LAPTOP\SQL_EXPRESS" ' Enter your server name here
    Database_Name = "Northwind" ' Enter your database name here
    User_ID = "" ' enter your user ID here
    Password = "" ' Enter your password here
    SQLStr = "SELECT * FROM Orders" ' Enter your SQL here
    Set Cn = New ADODB.Connection
    Cn.Open "Driver={SQL Server};Server=" & Server_Name & ";Database=" & Database_Name & _
    ";Uid=" & User_ID & ";Pwd=" & Password & ";"
    rs.Open SQLStr, Cn, adOpenStatic
    With Worksheets("Sheet1").Range("A2:Z500")
    .ClearContents
    .CopyFromRecordset rs
    End With
    rs.Close
    Set rs = Nothing
    Cn.Close
    Set Cn = Nothing
    End Sub
    Sub TestMacro()
    ' Create a connection object.
    Dim cnPubs As ADODB.Connection
    Set cnPubs = New ADODB.Connection
    ' Provide the connection string.
    Dim strConn As String
    'Use the SQL Server OLE DB Provider.
    strConn = "PROVIDER=SQLOLEDB;"
    'Connect to the Pubs database on the local server.
    strConn = strConn & "DATA SOURCE=(local);INITIAL CATALOG=NORTHWIND.MDF;"
    'Use an integrated login.
    strConn = strConn & " INTEGRATED SECURITY=sspi;"
    'Now open the connection.
    cnPubs.Open strConn
    ' Create a recordset object.
    Dim rsPubs As ADODB.Recordset
    Set rsPubs = New ADODB.Recordset
    With rsPubs
    ' Assign the Connection object.
    .ActiveConnection = cnPubs
    ' Extract the required records.
    .Open "SELECT * FROM Categories"
    ' Copy the records into cell A1 on Sheet1.
    Sheet1.Range("A1").CopyFromRecordset rsPubs
    ' Tidy up
    .Close
    End With
    cnPubs.Close
    Set rsPubs = Nothing
    Set cnPubs = Nothing
    End Sub
    Finally, you can run a SProc in SQL Server, from Excel, if you want the SProc to do the export.
    Option Explicit
    Sub Working2()
    'USE [Northwind]
    'GO
    'DECLARE @return_value int
    'EXEC @return_value = [dbo].[TestNewProc]
    ' @ShipCountry = NULL
    'SELECT 'Return Value' = @return_value
    'GO
    Dim con As Connection
    Dim rst As Recordset
    Dim strConn As String
    Set con = New Connection
    strConn = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;"
    strConn = strConn & "Data Source=LAPTOP\SQL_EXPRESS;"
    strConn = strConn & "Initial Catalog=Northwind;"
    strConn = strConn & "Integrated Security=SSPI;"
    con.Open strConn
    'Put a country name in Cell E1
    Set rst = con.Execute("Exec dbo.TestNewProc '" & ActiveSheet.Range("E1").Text & "'")
    'The total count of records is returned to Cell A5
    ActiveSheet.Range("A5").CopyFromRecordset rst
    rst.Close
    con.Close
    End Sub
    Sub Working()
    'USE [Northwind]
    'GO
    'DECLARE @return_value int
    'EXEC @return_value = [dbo].[Ten Most Expensive Products]
    'SELECT 'Return Value' = @return_value
    'GO
    Dim con As Connection
    Dim rst As Recordset
    Set con = New Connection
    con.Open "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=LAPTOP\SQL_EXPRESS;Initial Catalog=Northwind;Integrated Security=SSPI;"
    Set rst = con.Execute("Exec dbo.[Ten Most Expensive Products]")
    'Results of SProc are returned to Cell A1
    ActiveSheet.Range("A1").CopyFromRecordset rst
    rst.Close
    con.Close
    End Sub
