Export to only PDF,Excel, PPT

Hello All
Is there a way that i can only export to PDF, Excel and PPT? Currently i have the export option with many other formats but i want to limit only to the ones which i mentioned.

Hi Ravi,
Below steps can be followed to remove a particular export option from Export link in analysis. Below example shows how to remove export to PDF option (Similar steps can be followed to remove other options):
- Locate the file 'viewscontrolmessages.xml' in the 'Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\msgdb\messages' folder.
- Copy the file 'viewscontrolmessages.xml' to the 'instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\msgdb\l_en\customMessages' directory.
- Here we need to create the sub-folders \l_en\customMessages if it does not exist already.
- Open the copied file in an editor and comment the below tags ()

Hello,
Are you using the "pull" or "push" method for your crystal reports? If you are using the "pull" method (the report itself executes the sql) then I believe there is no way around having the query execute twice since it is fired off each time you open and export the report.
If you use the "push" method, however, then you can just create the recordset/dataset and then set the datasouce once for the report.
Here's a broad overview of push and pull though the Crystal Report Viewer is used. The viewer may or may not be applicable in your case:

Export to PDF, Excel, Excel (Data Only) formatting issues

Hi Community
I have a report that consists of 5 subreports. Out of the 5 subreports, 3 of them have a similar format whereas the other 2 are different.
Iu2019m currently facing an issue whereby the exports to excel works fine, but excel (data only) has some alignment issues(i.e. the data appears below the correct columns). However, when the report is tweaked to make export to excel (data only) appear correctly, the export to excel had its data shifted out of alignment. There is no impact to pdf exporting at the moment.
Are there any people who are facing similar issues? Is there any resolution or workaround? I appreciate any help. Thanks.
FYI, the version of crystal reports is Crystal reports is Crystal reports 2008 and we are using the crystal report viewer interface to export into excel and pdf formats. The excel version is 2007.

DW, i've also run into issues with multiple sub reports. I resolved it by putting each sub report into it's own section, and then suppressing the sub report (Note, if ur trying to export subreport data to excel, I don't think its going to work. You'd need to create shared variables and then bring those sub report shared variables into your main report).
Once you bring your shared variables into the main report, suppress your sub reports, and then export to excel, you're still left with a dataset that has missing rows. This is ok. You can solve it easily within the excel file itself by sorting the data on a unique ID like Account #. This removes the extra rows.
Not the most elegant solution, but it works.

How do I export from PDF to PPT so that shapes created in Illustrator are editable

How do I export from PDF to PPT so that shapes created in Illustrator are editable, not just text on top of them? I used the Acrobat XL Pro technique described here (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/pdf-to-powerpoint-pptx-converter.html), to export a graphic I had created in Illustrator and saved as an Adobe PDF file, but shapes are not editable and are fuzzy too. Is there a way to export a complete Illustrator graphic to PowerPoint?

Thanks Bill. Of course I realize I can insert an Illustrator drawing into a PPT without making it a PDF first. What I’m trying to do is insert a drawing from Illustrator that is still editable in PPT (a client request). I think that you need iTunes 11.
You can copy word, excel, powerpoint and/or PDF documents to the iPad, but first you need one or more apps on the iPad that support those document types - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice. Microsoft have also released apps, but unless you subscribe to Office 365 you will only get read-only e.g MS Word For iPad.
For PDFs there are free apps such as Apple's iBooks app and also Adobe Reader - and paid-for apps such as GoodReader (which also supports read-only of word and excel documents).
As to how you then get the file to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via your wifi network, email, dropbox etc. For Apple's Pages, Numbers and Keynote : copying documents via iTunes.

Hi Soptik,
As far as I know, we can only save an InfoPath form as PDF/Excel using InfoPath Windows form application(rather than Broswer-based InfoPath).
In this case, we can
Open the library that save the forms
Selec the form that is wanted to be PDF/Excel(Just select it, don't open it)
Click the "inverse trangle", and then click "Edit in Microsoft InfoPath"
In InfoPath, click "File" > "Save & Send" to save the form as PDF/Excel

How to Export Quote from PDF to Excel OR Print Quote in Excel?

I have a requirement where in I need to Print my quote in Excel output(Right now I am getting a PDF output)

The standard way of implementing this requirement is via xml publisher reports. You can build a concurrent program which takes some parameters and generate a pdf/excel report. You can call this concurrent program from ur OAF page.If you are not sure how to submit concurrent request via OAF refer to dev guide, this has been explained with sample code.
On the other note if u just want csv file, which can opened in a excel, you can print the quote on OAF page using advanced table bean and use export feature. This is explained in Advanced table section in dev guide.

Also I can create a pdf from the MS Word and it is using the Adobe 9. So one would think that's good. No it isn't when you need to combine different files to one big PDF document. Any suggetions? Yes, I’m saying that I can in WORD use “Save As ADOBE pdf” but cannot in ADOBE create a pdf file from a WORD (.doc or .docx) document. While I can from other MS Office apps like Excel and PowerPoint.
I understand I can use “work around” and save doc in WORD as pdf then compile all files needed (xml, ppt, pdf) in the ADOBE v9. to one big pdf document. But that is not the point of this post.

Export data on pdf-form to Excel

I would need help for exporting data from pdf-form to Execl spreadsheet
the basic idea is that a pdf-form would be the user interface to collect the data with text boxes / drop-downs (such as "Vendor", "Purchase order number", "Date", "Text" etc.) and after the data is filled on the pdf-form it would be easily exported (with button?) to one certain Excel -file.
The Excel-file should have similarly named colums and the data from pdf-form would be exported always to the next empty row.

The idea was that the user would fill-in the data on the pdf -form and from there this data would be exported to one named Excel-file ( = data exported always to same Excel - file / to the next empty row)
So this Excel -file would act as a summary file / database from where the collected data could be easily sorted etc.
Another issue is that I'm looking for easy solution for the exporting fuction (e.g. button + java script) so that also the "dummy users" could operate this

Export BIRT reports to PDF, Excel or Word is not working properly

We are seeing an issue with the BIRT reports Export option where some reports are working fine(exporting properly) in PDF but Not in Excel or Word or PowerPoint.

Does this issue happen in both environments, Windows and Linux?
Do you have some reports that can be exported successfully to Word, Excel and Power Point?
That specific error indicates there is an error finding the X11 XToolkit in the class path.

Export to PDF/Excel

Hi All,
We are in NW2004s SP13. I have created a new modal and edited the tool bar to add the Export to PDF button. After reviewing the document Export Data From Visual composer I put the PDF formula but am getting the following error. Since our VC sits in the same server as Enterprise Portal we have created a Remote URL iview for the Web analyzer and used that PCD location in the formula, but still gives the same error.
Could anyone please shed any thoughts on the same. I am enclosing the error message that we are getting and the formula that we are using.

Exporting .rep Files to Excel via openDocument?

Hi,
as the documentation states, only .rpt can be directly exported to excel via openDocument's sOutputFormat.
Others created with Desktop Intelligence (.rep) can "only" be exported to PDF and HTML via sOutputFormat.
However, in the WebIntelligence Toolbar there is the possibility to Export those .rep Files after generation.
The URL for the export looks like /saveAsPDForXLS.jsp (or something like that), and as far as i remember a sEntry GET var is passed with the query.
This sEntry var - i suppose so - is an unique id for the freshly generated document?
Anyway, my question is, isnt there a way to use openDocument to export .rep Files to excel?

exactly, but as i mentioned when the request is finished and e.g. the pdf document embedded in a frame shows up, there is the chance to export it via the toolbar to csv/excel.
When selecting that option, a redirection to /saveAsXLSorPDF.jsp (or so) is fullfilled.
I'm not sure what exactly happens between that redirect, maybe you can help me on that point.
The sEntry parameter being passed to saveAsXLSorPDF.jsp, where from (or how) is it generated?
Does the sEntry param depend on the openDocument URL request, Is there some special algoritm for generating that sEntry?
To make it clear, what im thinking about is:

Make another request to saveAsXLSorPDF.jsp with the sEntry which i could generate by myself, if i knew what algorithm is underneath!

Crash when exporting Book to PDF

I am trying to export a Book (17 documents, 1822 pages) to PDF. It keeps crashing on the 7th document. I can export that document by itself (148 pages), no problem. I can export documents 1 thru 6 together (472 pages) , and 8 thru 17 together (1202 pages), no problem. But when I try to export the entire book at once, it crashes or freezes on that 7th document. Sometimes it crashes, sometimes it freezes. I've tried exporting that document to .IDML. I've rasterized two embedded PDF's that are on the page where it freezes, just in case there was something corrupt in those PDF's. I'm at my wits end ...

OK, I THINK I have this solved, it is still exporting but has gone beyond the trouble spot. The entire export process takes almost 30 minutes, and I'm only 10 minutes in, but here is what I found. The problem images came from Excel. At first I thought it might have been because I just copied and pasted them from Excel, so I went back and exported them as PDF's from Excel and "placed" them in InDesign, but that didn't solve the problem. So then I rasterized the PDF's in Photoshop, and that seems to have worked. I'm not sure why these particular images created a problem, because I have many other charts from Excel scattered throughout the Book.
Here is the process I used. Instead of "packaging" the whole works, I just duplicated the file I thought was the offending one and left the duplicate (Copy 1) in my working folder. I deleted a group of pages in the duplicate, then "replaced" the file in the Book with this duplicate and ran the export to PDF process, recording the results as Test 1. That test worked. I duplicated the original again (Copy 2), deleted another set, and ran the test again, recording the results as Test 2, and so on. Test 7 is the one that seems to be running successfully right now.
John, I really appreciate the quick and comprehensive answers and discussion regarding this problem, it helped me focus on a process that isolated the problem and allowed me to fix it.
BTW, the issue of "packaged" images overwriting others with the same name happened in PageMaker. It was panic time when I printed out a final proof of my work, and the same figures kept showing up over and over in different authors' articles. I don't know if it would occur in InDesign because I don't send InDesign files to the printer ... they all seem to prefer PDF's, which is easier for me anyway.
Now that I've taken so long with this response, the export is finished and IT WORKED! YAY!!

Restricting Export options to PDF

All,
We are hosting crystal reports in BO XI R3, it works fine, but can we restrect the export options to PDF ONLY. It is allowing to export to all formats. (FTF, EXCEL, PDF, RPT, etc..).
How to achive export to PDF only.

Exports may be restricted by creating a role and modifying the rights included with that role. You can include the "Save as PDF" entitlement while restricting the other export options through the CMC. The users must then be assigned to this role.
