Exported To FLash 8 - MC question Radio Button Size?
I have a quiz that uses MC and T or F questions - I am
exporting it to flash to integrate it with some other content.
I have everything working at this point, except I need to
increase the font size of the question Radio buttons and everything
i have tried so far hasn't worked. I am guessing it is somewhere in
the captivate quiz class files but i havent been able to track it
down.
Thanks for the response.
After i posted I kept digging and found where the code is
that sets the font for the Radio buttons in the quizzes when you do
an export to flash. What I found out is listed below in case anyone
else ever needs the information- hopefully it will save someone
else some time.
The ".as" file is --
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME HERE\Local
Settings\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash
8\en\Configuration\Classes\AdobeCaptivate\quiz\CpMultipleChoice.as
Strating at line 106 there is the following code
p._font.name = "Arial";
p._font.size = 12;
p._name = "" + numAnswers;
I was then able to make the font size larger to match the
other text on the screen (i do have to say it's rather annoying
that those attributes don't get exported from the captivate file,
because i set the font properties before exporting - but i guess
there is probably a reason for that)

Flash 8 UI Component: Radio Button
Hi:
May someone kindly guide me how to bind a radio button to a
text area? Perhaps without using action script.
What's the trick of binding the Radio Button in Flash 8 as
the attempt to bing ComboBox or some other UI components has no
problem at all; but only the Radion Button.
Thanks!Thanks for the response.

Adobe Captivate - Multiple Choice Quiz Question - Radio Button and Text Alignment
I have created a quiz with multiple choice questions.
No matter what I do I cannot align the radio button and the text for the choices (see below).
I would like to align the center of the radio button with the center of the letter A) and B).
I have tried every option that I can think of in the Properties options.
Please let me know if anyone has a solution for this.
Thank youThanks for the reply.
Previously I tried several different combinations of fonts and font sizes, but didn't see any change.
Does anyone else know of anything else that could effect this situation? -
Radio Buttons do not seem to have a "SIZE" property.
CheckBoxes have a "SIZE" property on the OBJECT-FIELD tab. For checkboxes, the size can be set in points and it is reflected in the size of the box that is checked. This size is independent of the object width/height or font size.
Radio buttons seem to be a fixed size circle. The OBJECT-FIELD tab has no size property. Changing width, height, margins, reserve, font, etc does not impact the size of the circle.
There seems to be a hidden size property, since radio buttons that are imported from previous pdf seem to retain their size. Whereas, creating a new radio button always gives the same small size.
It appears that the OBJECT-FIELD interface for the radiobutton needs to be modified to implement the "hidden" size property.
Does anyone have a workaround. For instance, if I knew what the hidden property name and syntax was, I could set the size during the initialization event for the radio button. I suspect it's the same name and syntax as for the checkbox, but I don't have that either. The documentation that came with the "professional" version of Acrobat 7 does not seem to go to this level of detail.This is available in the Designer 7.1 UI, easiest thing would be to upgrade.<br /><br />Basically it sets the size attribute of the <checkButton> node, which is inside the <ui> node which is in the <field> node.<br /><br />Chris<br />Adobe Enterprise Developer Support

Openbox Theming Questions - ( titlebar button size)
I'm trying to tweak an openbox theme that is finger friendly for my daughter's touchscreen and I've run into a question:
I know we can change the image of the .xdm for the titlebar buttons but can we change the size so that it fits a taller titlebar?
I can't see anything in the .themerc, obconf, or obtheme to do so but I hope I'm just missing it somewhere. It seems weird that I can easily increase the size of the titlebar but not the buttons.
Thanks.
Last edited by ctarwater (2010-12-14 13:10:18)I have solved moving a window by dragging the title bar with the following openbox configuration, which is located in ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml on my machine:
<context name="Titlebar">
<mousebind button="Left" action="Drag">
<action name="if">
<maximized>yes</maximized>
<then>
<action name="Unmaximize"/>
<action name="MoveResizeTo">
<y>0</y>
</action>
</then>
</action>
<action name="Move"/>
</mousebind>
<mousebind button="Left" action="DoubleClick">
<action name="ToggleMaximizeFull"/>
</mousebind>
</context>
After holding down the left mouse button on the title bar and moving the mouse, the window is unmaximized and moved to the top of the desktop with the actions Unmaximize and MoveResizeTo. Unmaximizing and moving to the top is only done, if the window is maximized. Then in each case the action Move starts the modus for moving the window with the mouse. This configuration simulates nearly the same behavior as in Windows 7 while dragged the title bar with the left mouse button.
After a left double click on the title bar, the action ToggleMaximizeFull switches the window state once between maximized and unmaximized.

Export to Flash how to adjust the video size from 640 to 320
Is there a way to change the size of the Flash video when exporting from Encore? The only setting I see is the quality drop down from low to ultra. Even on low it exports as a 640 by 480 video. Is there a way to change it to 320 by 240? Or is it determined by the size of the mpegs?
TIA
DirkActually I have been playing around with this stuff today, here is what you do:
After you create the flash file with your index.html and swf and ect you can go into the HTML file and change the setting from 640x40 to 320x240. You can also create skins and stuff in there too using your HTML editor or manually playing with it yourself in Notepad like I do. -
Vertical Allignment of Radio Buttons
Hi All,
I am new to OAF.I am creating a OAF page(Questionaire page) which has many questions and each question has 2 Radio buttons as "Yes" and "No" as the answer and aligned horizontally with the question.I am facing an issue with vertical alignment of the Radio buttons.Depending upon the length of the questions radio buttons position is getting changed.I want all the radio buttons to be aligned vertically in a single column.
I have created a header region-->rowlayout(for each question and 2 radio buttons) contains:
> _1 item_ with item style 'MessageStyledText'----- for question
> _2 items_ with item style 'MessageRadioButton'----for 2 radio button
Please guide me to resolve this issue.There are a number of options. One is to set up guides, and fields will snap to them when one of the field borders is brought near. To add a guide, show the rulers (Ctrl+R) and click/drag one from either the horizontal or vertical ruler.
You can also select multiple fields, right-click on one of them, and select the option to align left, bottom, etc. The field that you right-click will be the model or anchor for the others. Other right-click option allow you to set multiple selected fields to the same size (height, width, both) and distribute them horizontally or vertically to they are evenly spaced. -
Issue: Flash radio buttons & Php form
I have a flash form which all of the fields are sending
correctly
through the php code. The flash radio buttons I added with

how do I get

The code for the send button on my flash file:

form.loadVariables("form.php", "POST");

Okay, I give up, I've searched online and in several forums,
pored through
the Director documentation, and can't find a single tutorial
explaining how
exactly to use the Flash component Radio Buttons in Director.
And
apparently I'm not alone, about all I could find was another
post in this
group from over a month ago asking the same question without
getting a
single response. (Also found a few other questions regarding
them in other
forums, but one thing I didn't find anywhere was anyone
actually *answering*
these questions.) Do I have to actually use Flash to get
these to work?
Assume for a moment that I know exactly nothing about Flash
(not far from
the truth). What exactly do you have to do to make the other
buttons
automatically deselect when you click one? According to what
little
documentation there is in the Director help files, this
should happen
automatically, but apparently I'm missing something, because
it doesn't.
This was relatively simple with the old classic Radio
Buttons, and I'm
seriously considering just going back to using those (never
mind the
primitive graphics), or maybe just scripting my own from
scratch. (It's not
really that complicated a behavior, and at this point it
seems like it would
be easier than trying to use what seems to be an almost
completely
undocumented feature...)The Flash Components are not documented in Director, though
they are
documented in Flash. If you can parse the dense and difficult
to
understand Flash Help file (and yes, you would need to have
Flash to get
it), then you can see all the docs for those components.
Before I go much further, I should say that in my experience,
using
#flashComponents is a painful and tedious business. I do not
recommend
it. It will probably be MUCH easier on you in the long run if
you write
your own script from scratch.
But, for the sake or archival completeness, this is a script
that will
do what you want with the checkbox/radio button
#flashComponents:
1) Go into the Property Inspector and on the FlashComponent
tab for each
member, make sure that the eventPassMode is set to
#passAlways
2) Put this code onto the buttons:
on mouseUp me
if sprite(me.spriteNum).selected then
sendAllSprites(#deselect,me.spriteNum)
end if
end
on deselect me, vExcept
if me.spriteNum<>vExcept then
sprite(me.spriteNum).selected=0
end if

My form has a list of yes or no questions. I want to use either cheboxes or radio buttons. Unfortunatly I can't make it work. When I check yes for one question, it marks all yes answers for all other questions. If I mark some radio buttons to answer, it unmarks later. Need immediate help!!!
Is it that you are using a PDF-based form? Did you copy and paste the Yes/No fields all the way down your form? If so, then all of the yes/no boxes are copies of each other and have the same name and properties in the PDF.
For example, if you had:
Question 1 and Question 1 Yes/No checkboxes
Question 2 and Question 1 Yes/No checkboxes
Question 3 and Question 1 Yes/No checkboxes
Question 4 and Question 1 Yes/No checkboxes
Then whatever answer you selected in Question 1 would populate down through the rest of the form.
Changing the Yes/No field properties in questions two through four would eliminate the problem.
I hope that helps,

Why can't I see an export value option in my radio button properties? I am using Acrobat X pro.
Thanks so much. Thought it was just the name of the button and did not realize it was the value. Now able to use them for calculations.
-
Using Adobe Acrobat Pro X, we created a fillable PDF from an existing PDF.
One question can be answered by choosing one of four choices (radio buttons). The answers are laid out in a 2-by-2 arrangement.
When Acrobat Pro converted the PDF into fillable format, it thought that the radio-button answers on the second column are not part of the question.
How can I manually override Acrobat and make choices 3 and 4 part of the question.
Please click attached screenshot for better zoom.George,
i am the OP. I mistyped my email address and cannot log in to my original account.
Thanks for your reply.
How do I give each radio button the same name but unique button values?
I right-clicked the first radio button, chose Properties (Ctrl+I).
I copied the name: "What is your personal net worth in Canadian dollars including spousecommon law partner if applicable".
I clicked Close.
I then went into the Properties dialog window of the third radio button, which is one of the ungrouped choices. I pasted the name [What is your personal net worth in Canadian dollars including spousecommon law partner if applicable]. I then clicked Close.
I get an error message pop up:
A field of a different type already uses this name. Please choose a new name for the field, or change the field type to match the existing field with this name.
What must I do now?
Thanks. -
Form from hell (Flash Radio Buttons)
Does anyone have a bead out there on a behavior that you can
