HOW TO Export Entire Page Report, Not Just Regions, To CSV or Excel?
I need to export a main report (Page 2014) that consists of 5 different regions (Name, Feature, States, Admin Areas, and Maps), as one CSV file.
I know that I can set each of the 5 different region's report attributes to export by enabling the CSV output to Yes.
But , since my main report (Page 2014) has these many regions, I end up with 5 different CSV files.
There is no attribute to set for the main report (Page 2014) to enable it to export as CSV output.
How can I get an all-encoompassing CSV file of the main report (Page 2014)?
Thank you in advance,
MaggieHello Maggie,
>> How can I get an all-encoompassing CSV file of the main report (Page 2014)?
This might be possible using the advanced print server configuration, with BI Publisher, using the same technique that is being used to print master-details reports (which is a type of a multi-region report) - http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html . The standard print server configuration only supports reports with a single region. If you have BIP in your organization, that’s great. Otherwise, CSV files don’t warrant it.
The only other option, I can see, is to create the CSV file manually, using the technique described in the following Blog entry, by Scott Spendolini - http://spendolini.blogspot.com/2006/04/custom-export-to-csv.html .

How to export a ABAP Report as both a Text file and Excel file?
Hi Gurus,
I need to develop a report which can be exported as both Text file and Excel file.
Can you guys sugest me the FM's which I have to use? and parameters to be passed.
Post one example so that I can get better idea.
Standard ABAP editor directly have the options to save file as .xls or .txt file. User wants to export the report as required.
I know it is simple but need the efficient way.
So thanks to all of you.

not working well.
Do you get a excel with empty sheet with excel in place ?
Then you need to enable macro in trust center of excel sheet settings. The way you do this depends on the version of excel you are using.
I am able to get 200+ columns perfectly this way.

Export a BO report to excel having more than 65500 rows

Please let me know what are the different options available to export BO report having more than 65500 rows to excel 2003.Post Author: amr_foci
CA Forum: .NET
i think excel will not be able to handle all that records , you can devide your report into some tabs based on a specific condition for every tab, so when you export it to excel you will get many tabs as was exist in the the Business Objects report

Export Data of a Web Report having 2-3 Queries(tables) Onto 1 Excel Sheet
I have a Report designed in Web Application Designer. It has 2 or more Table Web Items in it to which different queries are bound.
Although the data of these queries is shown as one Report but to the user it is very annoying when he has to export the Data separately for each block and then copy-paste in order to have a single Exported File (as till then the user thinks it is just one Report).
The question is : Is there a way in which one can Export entire Data of a Web Report having 2 Queries(tables) Onto 1 Excel Sheet once, so that 2-3 exports or more from context Menu, and then copy-paste from excel, can be avoided?Hi , I have gone through this document
got this installed (the pre requisites) through SAP admin.
& now the code in html pane is as below :
First I am trying with Button option with only one dataprovider. Later will do changes for context menu option & more dataproviders.
But when i click on "Web printing with excel" , progress bar finishes & nothing happens.
Should't the result set be exported to Excel
Am i missing on some part.

Not sure if this can be changed within DeskI options, but it can be changed within Excel. Go to File, Page Setup. In the Sheet Tab, there is "Row and Column Headings" check box in the Print section... deselecting this will stop these being printed.... I'm using Excel 2003... -
Microsoft excel error while exporting a FRS report from Planning to excel
I have multiple screen shots of the issue.
are getting issues when within citrix trying to run an FRS report from workspace into excel.
first they get a windows login window looking for credentials of a User name and a Password.
the first error:
"Could not open 'http:SERVERNAME:19000/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/FOLDERNAMEandFILENAME.xls?format=excel.20028viewAs=excel&instanceId=11165278&previewDone=true'.
second error:
Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'http:SERVERNAME:19000/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/FOLDERNAMEandFILENAME.xls?format=excel.20028viewAs=excel&instanceId=11165278&previewDone=true'. There are several possible reasons:
The file name or path does not exist.
The file is being used by another person
The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
Third error:
The file you are trying to open, 'FILENAME.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file do you want to open the file now?
yes , no, or help
I am trying to figure out if its a CITRIX issue? An EPM issue? or what
We have Office 2010 32 bit with smart view and excel add-in.
Does anybody know why this may occur? I have screen shots I just don't know how to post them.When you export a FR report to excel, yes, you will get a prompt for credentials, but as said in 11.1.2 HFR guide, you have to ignore that by clicking "Cancel" and then you will get a second warning pop-up saying "The file you are trying to open, 'FILENAME.xls', is in a different format ........"... Click on "Yes"... you should be able to see the report in excel....
Both these are known issues in HFR export to excel and you can find them in oracle features guide. And they are not related to Citrix.
As in Oracle HFR user guide "When exporting a Financial Reporting document to a Microsoft Office format (Excel, Word or PowerPoint), when using Microsoft Office 2007, you may receive the following warning: "The file your are trying to open <filename>, is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?". This warning notifies users that, although the file has an Office extension ( ".xls", ".doc" or ".ppt"), the content of the file is different from the expected (native) Office format. Although Financial Reporting reports are generated in an MHTML format during export, this is not a security concern. Microsoft Office is just warning a user of a file format that is different than expected. Upon selecting “Yes” in the warning, the file will successfully open in Microsoft Office."

Exporting a crystal report as PDF and Attaching to an email via code - Filename Issuses?
Post Author: alynch
CA Forum: .NET
I need to export a crystal report as a pdf and send it out via email. I have created a subroutine that works but the attached filename come up as "untitled.txt" so the receiving machine believes it is a text file. If I rename it on the recipients machine to a ".pdf" I can open it with acrobat and it looks OK. Does anyone know how to rename the file as a pdf prior to sending it out?
Thank You.
al
I have included a copy of the subroutine:
Dim repdoc As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument()
Dim diskOpts As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.DiskFileDestinationOptions()
Dim ExpOpts As CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions
Dim MailOpts As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.MicrosoftMailDestinationOptions()
repdoc = Me.CrystalReport11
repdoc.Load("C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\WindowsApplication3\WindowsApplication3\CrystalReport1.rpt")
ExpOpts = repdoc.ExportOptions
With ExpOpts
.ExportDestinationType = CrystalDecisions.[Shared].ExportDestinationType.MicrosoftMail
.ExportFormatType = CrystalDecisions.[Shared].ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat
End With
With MailOpts
.MailMessage = "Message"
.MailToList = "enter email adress here"
.MailSubject = "Attached is a PDF file - .net Export test "
End With
ExpOpts.DestinationOptions = MailOpts
Try
repdoc.Export()
Catch err As Exception
MessageBox.Show(err.ToString())
End Try
End SubPost Author: Knight

When Exported in PDF reports displays HTML Tags
Hi All,
Business Object XI R2
WebI Report
I am Reporting on Oracle CLOBs. This CLOB contains Data with HTML Tags, Clearly this CLOB is the combination of DATA formatted in HTML tags.
When I create a WebI Reports on this (CLOB) WebI displays correctly in the sence data only.
When I export this report to PDF; The PDF display contains both data with HTML tags as well.
Is there any solution/workaround or any setting in the BO Server to overcome/solve this issue.
Appreciated you prompt help.
Thanks,
AshokChristine,
My question is wether Adobe support CLOBs or not.
I was reported on oracle CLOBs (This CLOBs contains data wrapped in HTML tags), by using Business Object Web Intelligence. This WebI displaying the reports as I desire, there is no problem, in WebI. WebI displaying data with no HTML Tags.
My problem is that when I export this WebI report, this Adobe is getting HTML tags, why? Since this WebI is not displaying the HTML tags, since adobe does not know wether there is a HTML tags or not.
Apprecited your prompt reply.
Thanks,

Export of WebI reports to XML in BO4.1
Hello,
I've seen some of BO What's New presentation stating that export of WebI reports to XML is possible in BO 4.1. However, my standalone client (4.1 SP1) does not offer this function.
My question thus is, whether export to XML is really possible, and if it is, which SP will we need for that.
Best regards,
Petr GötzHello Victor,
This is the webcast which states XML as a possible export format. It even states that XML export was already available in 4.0SP5, which is clearly not true:
What is new with Web Intelligence BI 4.1 – Part 1, Developer Support ASUG Webcast
See Figure 3.
Export to XML would be highly appreciated for our project, since we will need to export the report structures and then import them to a custom-coded application.
If XML export is not currently supported, is it at least planned for some of the next SPs to be released in near future?
Best regards,

How to export an eloqua report to a (ftp) server and schedule this export
I would like to export an eloqua report to a (ftp) server and schedule this export. I want to pick this report up by another tool like Qlikview.
Liesbethif it is something to do with having report admin rights is there a way to still export report data without these admin rights? is it possible to just export report data as activity data in the normal import/export section within the setup menu? is there a problem using filezilla client and oracle eloqua together for this?

Date data from Web Intelligence Report not equal to Date from Source
Hi,
I am creating a Web intelligence report based on a BEx query. I have a field called 'Date' that I am bringing over from the BEx query. It has a format of MM/DD/YYYY. When I view the 'Date' in Web Intelligence, it is displaying as 1/1/70. For example, in the BEx Query, 'Date' = 11/01/2011. In Crystal Reports, it is showing up as 1/1/70 as the only date. The source field contains more than 1 date. I'm not sure what's going on. I am using the 14.0.0 (2010) version of the Web Intelligence through the BusinessObject Launch Pad.
Please help!
-JaniceHi
The patches for SAP BusinessObjects BI4.0 are accumulative. This means you can download the latest patch (for the Support Package that you have installed) and it will have all the patch fixes
It looks like older patches are being removed from the sites & only the most recent patch or patches are available since they are accumulative
I believe Patch 2.15 should now be available, but anything later than Patch 2.6 should help you in this instance
I hope this helps
regards...ian

Is my computer crashing due to memory upgrade?
I recently installed some new memory on my iMac and it has begun crashing pretty regularly since then. At first I only installed one additional 4GB module because I didn't know they were supposed to installed in pairs (and didn't do enough research).
