  • Programatically create objects in library which can be imported to stage

    I need to create an object in code which can then be imported to the stage.
    Specifically it's a circle with an ellipse cut out of it.  The size and position of the ellipse masked out need to be parameterized by sliders, and the size of the circle as a whole is also a parameter which might be dragged out on the stage.
    Does anyone have an example of how to programatically create an object in action script which can be imported to the library which can take parameters (or rather expose some methods) which can be wired to other things in the project like a knob or slider?
    Thanks in advance!
    Michael Grant

    you can use the function below.  call it passing parameters for the circle's absolute x, y, radius and color and passing the ellipses (relative to the circle) x,y,radius x, radius y.  a sprite is returned with the graphics, i think, you want:
    ////////////  sample function call: ///////////////////////////////////////////////
    var c:Sprite = circleMinusEllipse(100,200,50,0xaa0000,-40,-20,40,20);
    addChild(c);
    //////////// nothing below needs to be changed ////////////////////////
    function circleMinusEllipse(cX:Number,cY:Number,r:Number,col:Number,eX:Number,eY:Number,rX:Number, rY:Number):Sprite{
        var c:Sprite = new Sprite();
        c.x = cX;
        c.y = cY;
        with(c.graphics){
            beginFill(col);
            drawCircle(0,0,r);
            drawEllipse(eX,eY,2*rX,2*rY);
            endFill();
        return c;

  • Is it possible to export my bookmarks from Firefox and import to another instance of the browser but without any type of cookie being imported?

    For convenience I want to have my already created bookmarks imported into another Firefox user's browser. For security reasons I don't want any cookies or flash cookies to be imported when I do this and I don't want to Sync browsers. Is this possible? If so, how, or are cookies not part of the exporting of bookmark data anyway?

    You can transfer bookmarks using two different formats:
    * Backup format: if you want to preserve tags, this format can do that. However, the Restore process completely replaces all existing bookmarks with what is in the backup. If you want to merge different sets of bookmarks together, do not use this method. More info:
    ** [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
    * Export format: with this option, Firefox creates an HTML file with an ancient format compatible with most browsers. It is not as complete as the newer Backup format. More info:
    ** [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]]
    ** [[Import Bookmarks from a HTML file]]
    Neither of these files contains cookies or passwords.

  • SCCM 2012: create user/group which can only import computers, reset pxe boots

    Hi,
    We would like to give helpdesk some basic rights so they can add computers (via mac/pc name) and reset pxe-boots.
    We might grant extra rights but would like to start with these basic ones.
    I know the setup is fully different (RBAC) so your feedback how you implemented this would be highy appreciated.

    You can use "Custom Role Based Administration for Importing Computers" (http://blogs.technet.com/b/inside_osd/archive/2012/04/30/custom-role-based-administration-for-importing-computers.aspx)
    as a starting point. Then use "RBA Viewer" (part of the toolkit) to create your own, custom roles.

  • Keynote presentations that will support small animations.  How can I do it.  Understand there might be some software which can be used via my desktop but not direct from iPad.

    I wish to insert small animations into a Keynote presentation which I can make from my desktop, although I will ultimately wish to deliver from my ipad.  Simon thought there could be some software available to make this happen.  Other people have said rename .gif files as .mov files, but cannot seem to do that.  Many thanks for any help.  M argret

    This is a user to user support forum.  We are all iphone users just like you.
    You are not addressing Apple here at all.
    This is an odd way to ask your fellow iphone users for help. Berating oterh users will not help you.
    "it's too fragile"
    No it is not.  i have never damaged one, nor has anyone I know.
    " U loose data when Ur phone is locked"
    No you don't.  Why do you think this?
    "and there is no customer support!!!  "
    Wrong yet again.  Apple has an 800 number and they have many retail stores and they have support articles that you can access using the search bar. Or you can contact them throgh express lane online
    "but I will go back with Blackberry "
    Please do.
    Good ridance

    Possibly. Media Go supports a variety of music formats, some of which can be imported in to iTunes and then synced on to an iPhone, however some of its formats cannot be imported in to iTunes.
    See http://mediago.sony.com/enu/supported-file-formats/ for a list of formats supported by Media Go. iTunes for Windows supports MP3, AAC, WAV, and can import and convert WMA files as well. However iTunes does not support ATRAC, or FLAC.
    Furthermore, if some of your music has been bought from an Internet music store it might be procted by DRM. If so it cannot be imported in to iTunes.
    To do the importing you would either drag the music files in to iTunes, or tell iTunes to open them. See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1347

  • Exporting all settings for Outlook Desktop so that they can be imported into Outlook

    Hi there,
    I was wondering whether all settings for Outlook Desktop can be exported so that they can be imported into Outlook i.e. .psts, .osts, .pabs, .oabs, .dats, .xmls, .nk2s, .rwzs, .rtfs, .txts, .htms, .dics, .ofts, .srss and .msgs. My Managing Director's Wife is
    unsubscribing from Office 365 in order to use Office Professional 2013 I presume or 2010 perhaps. Your help would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    RocknRollTim
    P.S. I was redirected by a user off the Office 365 Community Forum.

    Hi,
    As per the information and details provided by you, in Outlook, there is not any way to backup Outlook account setting because in all Outlook versions the account settings are kept inside the window registry under this key:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles
    So if you want to create backup of your Outlook account setting, you should have to export that key from your registry and then import it to your new computer.
    To backup Outlook Account setting follow these steps: -
    1. First, go to the Start menu and then at the Run box, type regedit and press Enter.
    2. Under the registry editor right click to Export the Profiles key found inside this location in the registry:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\
    • e.g: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles”
    3. In Outlook 2013 right click to Export the Profile key found under this location in the registry:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\
    • e.g: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles key”
    4. Specify the Destination Location and File Name then press Save.
    Correct me if the information that I am having is wrong. I hope this will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Can I import my old bookmarks from xmarks since it's shutting down?

    Xmarks is shutting down, and they have an export bookmarks button. Can Sync import them so I don't lose all my bookmarks?

    Your bookmarks and other data that you possibly store on the XMarks server is still on your computer in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder].<br />
    There is only a copy of your data on that server that you can use in case of problems.<br />
    So there is no problem if you switch to Firefox Sync to backup your data.

  • Can I import an existing topic page into a new topic page?

    I'm working in RH HTML 9 and am working on a project where there will be at least 2 versions of help documentation. One version for basic functionality, to be used by a novice user and another for advanced functionality, to be used by a advanced user. The basic functionality needs to viewable by both the novice and the advanced users with the advanced user being able to find help on a few more windows/fields/options. The programmer asked if an existing topic can be imported to another topic. I am already using conditional tags to exclude certain topic from the novice user version. Another way I could do this is to provide a link from the advanced user page to the novice user page.
    Thank you,
    dpeterson8022

    Thank you Rick. Another question, if you have time-In my case the topic I am putting in the iframe is fairly lengthy, so I don't see any advantage to the iframe over just cutting and pasting the text. Is there a way an iframe can open in another browser window? In the alternative, I think I'll just use links so the advanced user can link to the novice user help topic, for the shared functionality.
    Thanks again,

  • Can't import photos from HD... easily

    My old library is saved on my HD, but iphoto 5 can't recognize any of the jpegs. If I open them with preview, then save as onto desktop, I can then import the new desktop file onto iphoto no problem. Is there an easier way to get my old library into the new iphoto or do I have to go through this open, resave, import process for every photo?

    Hi Jonathan,
    -If you want to use the old Library, put it in the Pictures folder and launch iPhoto. If the old library is the same version as iPhoto, iPhoto will open it. If the old library is an older version, iPhoto will ask to upgrade it. Make a duplicate of your library before you do this.
    -If you already have a library and just want to add the images from the old library. Open up your new library, choose the command "add to library", then navigate to the old library and choose it. Read page 2 on what will happen on the "add to library" command. You can also follow any of the steps there to add images from the old library to the new one

  • Importing form another project

    How do I import video from another pre. elements project.  Do I need to export that project as avi and then re import it.  I won't be able to edit it as much as it will one solid clip instead of many short ones with transitions.  I would like to just paste one project into the other.
    I did the titles and video as separate projects.  Also, is there a way to flatten a video that consists of multiple video tracks. (my titles were done on six video tracks) I'm think of a function similar to flatten layers in photoshop elements.
    Hope this makes sense.  I'm using pre 9
    Thanks
    Michael

    Michael,
    Steve's suggestion of Export/Share and then Import, is the best method.
    Before you do, there is one consideration, and it's the one that you mention - additional editing.
    The thing to consider is, "will I need to do additional editing?"
    If so, then I recommend doing a very loose edit, leaving additional Frames on each end, or each Clip, i.e. Handles, and then Exporting/Sharing that loose edit for Import into another Project. See this ARTICLE on Handles.
    However, if one knows that they have done all editing in the first Project, completely, then just Exporting/Sharing and Importing, is easier, but, and as you mention, things are now "set in stone," and are tough to re-edit.
    I have several "templates," that get re-used, such as intros, outros, credits, etc., that are tightly edited. Those just get Exported/Shared, and then Imported into each new Project. However, when I know that I will want to tighten up my edits later, I just edit very loosely, leaving plenty of additional footage (Handles) on each Clip to be tightened up later, in the final Project.
    Good luck, and with a bit of planning, things will be very simple.

  • I have some audio files on my previous phone which I would like to export to my new iPhone 5. I am told that you can only import files from iTunes. Is that true? If not, how do I import files from my phone - or my Macbook pro laptop-to my phone?  Thanks!

    iTunes will only import music from your phone that was purchased from the iTunes store.  To transfer music from other sources you have to use 3rd party software, such as PhoneView.

  • Import local DCs into Development Configuration

    Hi all.
    I have some local DCs already developed. From now I have available NWDI Development Configuration and I want to export those local DCs to the Remote Development configuration.
    I'm trying to implement/configurate a team development enviroment.
    I try sharing the DC project (DTR option into Webdynpro perspective) but when I import the shared content to a project in another Developer Studio, the DC metadata is lost.
    Its possible to move my local DCs to the Remote Development Configuration? If so, how can I do that?
    Regards.
    Gregory.

    hi,
    Follow the below mentioned steps:
    Creating a New Development Component
           1.      Create a new Web Dynpro DC project.
    You create an empty u201Ccontaineru201D for a Web Dynpro DC that does not yet have any functions. The new DC should include all relevant development objects of the local project.
    Do not check in the newly created DC into the DTR yet.
    Copying Packages from the Local Project
           2.      In the Web Dynpro perspective, switch to the Navigator view.
           3.      Select the local Web Dynpro project to be migrated and expand the project structure down to the source folder:  ® src ® packages.
           4.      Select all packages and from the context menu choose Copy.
    Inserting Packages into the New DC Project
           5.      Now choose the DC project that was just created and expand the project structure in the Navigator view, again down to the source folder.
           6.      Select the Packages node and choose Paste.
    The Add Files to DTR dialog box appears.
           7.      Choose OK to confirm your selection.
           8.      Assign an activity either by creating a new activity or by choosing an existing one.
    Execute Reload
           9.      Switch to the Web Dynpro Explorer.
       10.      Select the project node of the DC project and choose Reload.
       11.      In the displayed dialog box, again choose Reload.
    Reloadnow also reloads the Web Dynpro metadata into the new project.
    Building the Project
       12.      Execute a local rebuild for the entire DC project. Choose the function Rebuild project.
       13.      If there are no errors in the task view, execute a DC-based build by choosing the function Development Component ® Build.
    regards,
    amit bagati
