Expose assynchronous service in ESB

Hi all.
I'd like to know if it's possible to expose a service in ESB which has two port types, just like we do in BPEL.
The idea is to expose a WSDL in ESB which has two port types, request and callback. ESB should support WS-Addressing and call the requester port dynamically, based on the information provided in the SOAP header.
Is that possible??
Thanks.
Denis

Hummmm.... That's too bad for me :-(
I'm planning to go on an asynchronous architecture, given that in the traditional synchronous architecture I have the following issue:
For each synchronous communication, ESB gets a thread from the thread pool and this thread gets busy until the service provider returns with the response.
I could not see a way (I don't even know if it's possible) of allocating specific thread pools for each service or group of service providers.
The problem of having a single thread pool is that, if one service provider unexpectedly gets massively requested, the entire ESB gets stuck, and all other service providers end up suffering from this single problem.
Having an assynchronous architecture would prevent the ESB from consuming its entire thread pool in case of massive peak requests, as it only mediates the requests and the thread is free just after the mediation.
So, I have the idea of implementing services using request and callback ports.
The problem is that ESB should be able to mediate the assynchronous response back to the requester.
Is anyone working on a similar kind of architecture??
Thanks.
Denis

  • Exposing Web Services as Callable Objects

    Hello!
    I have SAP NetWeaver 04s SP7. How can I expose Web Services as Callable Objects?
    According to "Exposing Web Services as Callable Objects" (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/4758351fcb1193e10000000a155369/frameset.htm), I should start with choosing type of CO "Service -> Web Service".
    Actually, I haven't this entry in CO type list!
    According to integrate Web Services with GP, this type appeared in SP8. What are the alternatives in SP7?
    "Background execution" and "External service" seem to be the best candidates...
    What is the best solution?
    Thanx in advance!

    Hello, Jan!
    I have SAP NWDS 7.0.07, and I cannot find there an option to create a CAF project. I can create Web service, EJB, Web DynPro, and something else - but not a CAF project. In documentation I did not find the connection points between NWDS and External Services, except some plug-ins.
    Maybe I've misunderstood you, sorry - I'm a newbie in SAP
    Actually, I've made a simple EJB, created a Web service from it, and deployed the WS to portal. Maybe, EJB instead of Web service can be somehow used in CAF?
    I've tried to create a CO of type Composite Application Service, but there was necessary to configure endpoint aliases. I've read the manual "Configuring Endpoint Aliases", but didn't succeed to make one for EJB remote call... I've defined the name, URL (http://<host_of_portal>:<portal_port>), user and pwd - but I've got an exception when tried to use the created alias:
    com.sap.caf.core.gp.servicelocator.exception.MetaModelBrowserException: Exception while trying to get InitialContext. at com.sap.caf.core.gp.servicelocator.CAFMetaModelBrowser.getAllApplications(CAFMetaModelBrowser.java:77) at com.sap.caf.core.gp.ui.backgroundco.admin.VSelect.browseCAFCore(VSelect.java:305) at com.sap.caf.core.gp.ui.backgroundco.admin.VSelect.onActionSelectEptAlias(VSelect.java:750) at com.sap.caf.core.gp.ui.backgroundco.admin.wdp.InternalVSelect.wdInvokeEventHandler(InternalVSelect.java:287) at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.generation.DelegatingView.invokeEventHandler(DelegatingView.java:87) at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.controller.Action.fire(Action.java:67) at
    Maybe, the easiest way is to upgrade the versions of SAP and NWDS?
    Are there some manuals that could provide me some help about:
    1) creating CAS from the deployed Web service (from its creation in NWDS till its use in CAF, step-by-step)
    2) binding Web Dynpro apps and Web services, using CAF and GP.
    Or maybe I should attend SAP courses?
    I have SAP NetWeaver 04s SP7 and NWDS ver. 7.0.07.
    Sorry for the messy post, I did my best

  • Calling secured services from ESB

    Hi,
    How to invoke secured (HTTP Basic/WS-Security) web services from ESB? BPEL supports it via partner link properties/adapter header properties.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    This is a sneak peek at how headers are used. This example shows how to set outbound WS-Sec headers using a routing serrvice XSLT. Create a transformation in a RS that is invoking an outbound SOAP service and add the text below. Note it uses xsl variables and some new esb header xpath functions.
    For using ws-security in ESB you need to add the variable username and password in your xsl transformation template against the target. As below
    <xsl:variable name="Username"
    select="ehdr:setOutboundHeader('/wsse1:Security/wsse1:UsernameToken/wsse1:Username','oc4jadmin','wsse1=http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd;')"/>
    <xsl:variable name="Password"
    select="ehdr:setOutboundHeader('/wsse1:Security/wsse1:UsernameToken/wsse1:Password','welcome1','wsse1=http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd;')"/>
    <xsl:template match="/">

  • How can I authenticate and authorize with Web Service on ESB ?

    Hello,
    I want to authenticate and authorize client with Web Service published
    by HTTP/SOAP BC.
    Simply if it is an Web Service as J2EE application, I will use
    Basic Authentication with JAX-RPC and Realm.
    But I think that Web Service published by HTTP/SOAP BC is not belong
    to J2EE Application. Threre is no place to describe security role mapping
    (like web.xml).
    JBI 1.0 the section "5.5.1.1.3 Normalized Message Properties" comments
    JAAS Subject is given in the NM Properties. Really in this package
    com.sun.jbi.internal.security.*

    But I can't see how to configure my Service to use this.

    I changed IPC key also ,tried to shut down the server but not able to shut down the server.then I tried to kill the server.still no sucess.
    Please answer some of my question.
    1)can my application placed in any folder other and execute compile tmloadcf from there?
    2)How to test my service using command prompt.
    I have also updated the Jrepository .
    Please if you find some required changes please let me know how to get those values which system specific eg I got server name using name -n command.
    Please anybody help me.

    Hi! I guess it's nice to get called upon by name. :-)
    As user878 mentions, the problem trying to execute tmloadcf is related to the fact that the associated IPC resources are already considered active by Tuxedo, i.e., you did a tmboot with a given TUXCONFIG and that Tuxedo environment is still running.
    Specifically to answer your questions:
    1)can my application placed in any folder other and execute compile tmloadcf from there?Where the files reside is almost immaterial. What is key is what the environment variable TUXCONFIG points to. That file defines a Tuxedo environment and is created with the tmloadcf command. Once the application is booted, you can't use tmloadcf to change the configuration. You either need to use the tmconfig command or shutdown the environment and then issue the tmloadcf command and then reboot the environment.
    2)How to test my service using command prompt.Tuxedo only provides a generic command line client for Tuxedo services that use FML or FML32 buffers. The commands are ud and ud32. For Tuxedo services that use other buffer types, you will have to develop a specific client.
    I have also updated the Jrepository .The Jolt repository is only needed if you are using Jolt, the Java client API to Tuxedo services.

    Todd Little

  • Unauthorized Error when using XI exposed Web-Services

    I have configured a XI exposed Web-Services, when I fired the web service, there is an Unauthorized Error.
    when I go to message monitoring, I notice that the exception happened for the end point "http://XI Server:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry" for connection AFW

    Hi ST,
    When you are firing the webservice after sending the SOAP request through XML SPY for checking,you need to enter the PI Server ID and Password then only request will be posted to PI server.
    You can directly posting the Request to Integration engine without going through the Adapter engine.
    Still u are facing problem please let me know.
    All the best,
    Azeez.

  • Add username token to SOAP Service in ESB

    I know how to add the username token to a partnerlink in a bpel process but how can I configure the same soap headers in a SOAP Service in ESB?
    Another question about the configuration of a bpel process when invoking a secure web service: I need to add 3 parameters to the partnerlink to be able to send the username/password credentials to the service but this isn't very flexible.
    How can you configure to use file authentication or ldap authentication when invoking the secure web service?

    Hi.
    I found some info related to passing username token in ESB.
    You go to ESB home page:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/esb/index.html
    and download esb samples:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/esb/files/esbsamples.zip
    There you'll find a SOAP Headers project (under OTN Samples) which has an example of how to pass WS-Security usename credentials.
    Here is a sample, in a XSLT:
    <xsl:variable name="setUsername"
    select="ehdr:setOutboundHeader('/wsse1:Security/wsse1:UsernameToken/wsse1:Username','oc4jadmin','wsse1=http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd;')"/>
    <xsl:variable name="setPassword"
    select="ehdr:setOutboundHeader('/wsse1:Security/wsse1:UsernameToken/wsse1:Password','welcome1','wsse1=http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd;')"/>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <ns1:ReceiveCustElement>
    <ns1:customer>
    <xsl:value-of select="/inp1:InputElement/InputString"/>
    </ns1:customer>
    </ns1:ReceiveCustElement>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>

  • Calling an operation of a exposed Application Service fails

    Hi,
    I have created two applications A & B.
    Application A has a business operation1 and a application service1. Application service1 calls some operations on the Business Object1 and is also exposed as a web service.
    In application B, I have consumed the exposed Application Service1. In application B, there is also one appication service2 which is calling operation of the application service1.
    On executing the application B, I get the an exception ObjectNotexist exception when the call to an operation in Application A is made.
    However, application A works perfectly fine when executed independently.
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
    It seems the reason is you have not created the destination for the Web Services exposed from your application A.
    See, there are two ways of importing the services from project A into project B
    1. You can re-use the project A in Project B, set the dependencies appropriately, and use the services of A in project B.
    2. You can expose the services from A as web service and then import them in B & then use them.
    You have chosen the second option (Which is not recommended way). This type of usage requires you to create "external service configurations" to define endpoints for the imported services in project B.
    This is how u do it : Open the Service Registry at http:///caf ® Administrative tools ® External Service Configuration.
    Check this link for more info
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/2a508e74d33f66e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
    Hope this helps,
    Ashutosh

  • What is difference between ESB Service and ESB Service Group

    Guys please tell me What is difference between ESB System and ESB Service Group and when we use them, i mean in what condition.
    Many Thanks
    Deepak

    The use of these is explained in the ESB developers guide along with some examples in what case to use them. See: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28211/esb_jdev.htm#sthref167

  • Consuming Orchestration Exposed WCF service On remote system.

    Hello All ,  I am new to BizTalk, so bear with me
    I have created an orchestration for Insert operation to DB and Exposed it as WCF service, finally deployed in IIS fine.
    but whenever I am trying browse wsdl of service its prompting as : Network Error (dns_unresolved_hostname)
     Your requested host "DomainName" could not be resolved by DNS.
    url : http://domainName/Biztalk_PaymentTransaction_Process_PaymentTransaction_Port_RcvTransaction.svc?singleWsdl .
    I just replaced that domainName and put IP there I am able to browse my service, worked fine on Local system.
    but while trying with same url replacing domainname with
    IP on remote system, its throwing Exception as below
    There was no endpoint listening at http://DomainName/Biztalk_PaymentTransaction_Process_PaymentTransaction_Port_RcvTransaction.svc
    that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.
    please Explain what I need to do to resolve this,
    Do I'm missing something or what extra I need to DO...
    Thanks to all.

    Associate the domain name and the IP of the server where the service is hosted in the host file.
    Goto the server where the service is hosted.
    Goto the server’s host file in %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    Take a backup of the host file before you edit it.
    Add the following entry as the last line in the host file, replacing in it with the actual IP Domain name.
    xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx YourdomainName.com
    where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx = IP and YourdomainName.com = domain name

    In the earlier thread
    Error while deploying the project to ESB
    I was told to do some corrections. I did that and also I have bounced the OPMN. It worked for me.
    But again I am getting the same error, and I did this for the second time. But it didn’t work now.
    And I also have one more problem. I am not able to delete the existing services in the ESB console. When I try to delete the services I am getting the same error.
    I even checked the LOGS. The last three error payloads I see are

  • Not inlcude empty tag while invoking service from ESB

    The ESB receives a request with input xml which contains some empty tag. while ESB invokes the actual services the empty tags should not be included. can any one help how to achieve this?

    define that tag as optional in schema and don't map that element. This should help you.
