Extending Audio file throughout multiple menus.

Here is what I am trying to do: I have a main menu and two submenus. I would like to use a single audio file to play throughout my menus.
Is this possible to achieve some how????
I am using Encore 2.0.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Serge

Well that was not what I meant by "audio running independently from video". :p E.g. on a DVD-Audio disc the user can click through a slideshow while the audio keeps playing. On a DVD-Video title that wouldn't be possible. Either the user lets the slideshow run automatically, or the audio gets interrupted with every click on the [next] key on the remote.
Btw: On the DVD made from your timeline without video their probably will be a single black frame which the player holds for the duration of the timeline (VTS). Which means that it
does contain video...

    Hi,
    How can I split a long recording audio file into multiple audio files?
    With Windows I was using Nero software, which is not available for Mac. Is there any similar app for free for Mac?
    Thanks!

    Hello ingiorgio
    You can import the track into GarageBand and then split the tracks there. Once that it is done you can highlight the ruler section and then share the song to iTunes to get them separated out.

  • Extend audio file in Soundbooth CS4

    So, I have this audio file of the ambience sound of the interior of a plane, it only lasts 4 seconds... It's simple enough, I want to make it last 5 seconds without the pitch changing. I've tried to loop it but it just won't let me extend the time, help please!

    Do you mean the cfa or pek files? or in the files library panel?
    If you're pasting within the same file, it should create nothing new, only extend the file length by whatever you pasted into it.
    I just finished taking 97 loops and turning them into approximately one minute tracks for recording. Some of those loops were only two seconds, I had to paste the whole file onto itself thirty times to get it to sixty seconds. When I was done I had one track in the files panel. It was sixty seconds long but it was all by itself in there.

  • Using The Same Audio Files On Multiple Platforms

    When I import new audio into logic - often it will say that is creating wave forms for the display.
    Q: I notice that the audio files on disk do not show an altered modified date - so where are these wave form displays being saved - on the audio file or inside the logic song?
    Q: I am interested in possibly going back and forth between logic and Pro tools LE - and at different times using the same audio files for both platforms. Assuming I am not doing any destructive editing - is it OK to use the same set of files for both platforms - or do I need to make duplicates (I'd rather not)? Also, how does this wave form display get dealt with by going back and forth between the two platforms?

    A: the waveform overlays are stored in separate,
    temporary files - *.ovm files or something, but my
    memory is fuzzy on that for now. The original audio
    files are not modified in any way.
    Hmmm... I've wondererd about this, too, and as best I can tell, Logic DOES modify the original files.
    I just imported some stereo interleaved AIF files into a project (with "copy external audio files to project folder" disabled), and I couldn't see any evidence of waveform creation--a disk search by date revealed nothing looking like waveform overviews, and there were no modifications to the AIF file dates.
    So... the next time I imported some AIF files, I checked the file sizes before the import...
    Sure enough, the files got bigger by about 100K after being imported into a Logic session, even though the file's timestamps were not changed.
    Looks like maybe Logic does write the waveforms into the files themselves ?
    On a related note, the manual suggests that it's possible to change the "copy external audio files to project folder" setting after creating a project, but I haven't found this anywhere other than File->New... anyone know ?
    Thanks!

  • Starting and stopping multiple audio files throughout Keynote

    I have Keynote 08. Can you do this in the next version. It doesn't seem like you can play a song in the document and have it stop a certain slide and start up again on another slide or stop at a certain slide and start a new song.
    The only three options seem to be:
    1. Play a song in the background that has no idea where you are in the presentation.
    2. Play a song on particular slides which will stop whenever you go to the next slide.
    3. Switch to a new Keynote document by a hyperlink that plays a new song. You'll then need to have multiple keynote documents.

    Try the following; it works for me.
    First Audio clip: Build-in (Start Audio) will begin playback
    Build-out (Stop Audio) will end playback.
    Second Audio clip: Build-in (Start Audio) will begin playback
    To have first clip end when second begins, create a Build-Out (Stop Audio) and have the Build-In (Start Audio) of the second clip occur simultaneously with the Build-Out of the first clip.
    By the way, you can have these audio clips associated with a slide and still have an audio track running in the background as a Soundtrack. Be sure, however, that you record the various audio tracks at an appropriate level before you import them into Keynote because you cannot balance them while in Keynote.

  • How do you convert a single audio file into multiple tracks?

    Ive got a cassette tape that I captured. Now I want that single file to be chopped up into multiple tracks.
    from there, can we burn to cd with the multi tracks? or do we need another cd burner program?
    also the only way Ive been able to get rid of big pops is highlight them and cut them out. the automated processes have not been able to do this for me.
    is there a procedure somewhere for this that I can follow?
    thanks for your assistance.
    best, M/

    Jimi
    this is exactly what I did with a previous cd. I thought it seemed like the long way round.
    was hoping for a more automated solution.
    when I came from XP land, I used to use Premiere Pro 2.0 and there was a Pro editing software that came with the Premiere suite, I forgot what it was called, but it did that automatically after adding markers and it was way better at eliminating clicks and pops.
    there was a view you could use where you could see the annoying noises by looking at it using several differnt views (like looking at an infared image).
    definetly had its advantages but I could not keep XP running. I got errors, blue screens, viruses, spywares, costs lots of money to fix an lots of downtime.
    so far the mac as worked without any major glitches (touching wood)

  • Audio narrative throughout project

    Is there a way to have one audio file play through the entire project and have different slides/states play over the audio file? I have a 3 minute audio file that I want to have animations play over but with different graphics and charts. Sort of like an animated slide show. I'm hoping to avoid having to split up the audio file into multiple pieces.

    Hi Chunga,
    Here's what I'd suggest
    1.  Import your audio clip as an MP3 or FLV file.
    2.  Create an action sequence. You can do this on load by selecting nothing and then clicking "Add interaction" in the interactions panel. Instead of "Play transition to state", choose "Play action sequence".
    3.  Create a sound effect during your action sequence. In the timeline panel, click "Add Action > Play Sound Effect". Then choose your sound effect.
    4.  Add other effects to the timeline as needed. You should probably make all your slides the states of a custom component, and then add "Set Component State" actions during your action sequence.

  • How do i play multiple audio files simultaneously using AudioQueue?

    I've basically gutted what I don't need from the "Speakhere" sample app and I'm left with something I can use to play audio files. I converted wav files to aiff and then renamed the aiff to caf (Just in case this matters). I even tried shortening the files to 10 seconds long, but no difference. I am able to play files singly, but am unable to play more than one file at the same time. When I try to play multiple files, the first one plays correctly but the second will play a horrible long beeping sound. Sounds almost like a buzzer and sometimes will sound like a high pitched beep. My code has all the audio components like the speakhere app (AudioQueueObject, AudioPlayer, AudioViewController). I've changed the AudioViewController to be just my "AudioController" class where when I initialize, I pass in the name of the file and it replaces this line of code:
    CFStringRef fileString = (CFStringRef) [NSString stringWithFormat: @"%@/Recording.caf", self.recordingDirectory];
    with this:
    CFStringRef fileString = (CFStringRef) [NSString stringWithFormat: fileName, self.recordingDirectory];
    Any suggestions? I've been yanking my hair out trying to figure this out and I simply can't. I'm about ready to pull an "Office Space" but instead of beating up a printer, I'm going to destroy my macbook.
    *NOTE: I have only tried this in the simulator, but I'm assuming it will do this on the real thing so I haven't bothered to try.

    Unless I'm mistaken, you need one AudioQueue object for each audio file you want to play. In one of my apps, I basically copied the code provided in the [AudioQueue programming guide|http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/MusicAudio/Concep tual/AudioQueueProgrammingGuide/AQPlayback/chapter4_section_1.html#//appleref/doc/uid/TP40005343-CH3-SW1] and made a wrapper object for playback. So then you can do something like this:
    MyAudioManager *manager1 = [[MyAudioManager alloc] initWithFile:@"file1.caf"];
    [manager1 play];
    MyAudioManager *manager2 = [[MyAudioManager alloc] initWithFile:@"file2.caf"];
    [manager2 play];
    // etc...
    If you want to play short files (~10s or less), you can use the simpler AudioServices functions along with SystemSoundID's. It will work fine if you have playback from AudioQueue and AudioServices at the same time.

  • Working with an Audio File in Audition which has Multiple Cuts in Premiere

    Hello,
    I am quite new to Audition and am trying to apply noise reduction to tracks from Premiere...
    As I do not want to edit the original audio files and I do not know of a less painstaking method, I have been creating copies of the original audio files (for example a 30m interview), processing the whole file, then essentially re-editing the whole segment by copying/pasting the multiple pieces of processed audio individually in the place of the originals, which is proving to be incredibly time-consuming.
    I am wondering if there is an an easier way of working with sequences with a lot of cuts in Premiere and which are sourced from the same audio file?
    I was planning initially to just copy/paste the files as they are in the Premiere timeline but I guess this would just alter the original file?
    Any thoughts are hugely appreciated...

    You should be able to export the audio as edited in Premiere as a new file to import into Audition for processing. then the matching processed audio file can be imported back into Premiere on a new track with the old one muted.

  • Creating a Volume Control Bar for multiple audio files

    I'm fairly new to Flash and am developing a project with a
    series of frames that contain unique movie clips. Each of these
    frames are accessible through a chapter based menu as well as being
    viewable straight through as a regular movie. I've just added the
    audio for each "chapter" / frame that are all unique from one
    another. I'm having a problem with creating a volume control bar
    that will affect all audio throughout all frames from the single
    control bar on the general skin/interface that these chapters work
    out of. (Using Flash 8)
    I developed a sliding control bar, which works but does not
    affect the volume in any way. Is there something wrong with the
    following coding that I'm using? (The control bar is made up of a
    button nested in a movie clip and the action is being applied to
    the mc. The bar/line to follow is 60px long and the control is to
    move horizontally while the increase corresponds to increase in
    volume. The original code was for a 100px line from a macromedia
    tutorial that I adjusted to be 60px) Any advice on best practice
    for creating a volume control bar would be greatly appreciated! (I
    currently have all of my corresponding audio files on separate
    layers, should I be placing these within a mc rather than just
    having them on the main timeline?) Thank You!!!!

    Answering my own question.....
    Each individual swf has the code...
    var my_sound:Sound = new Sound();
    my_sound.loadSound("someSound.mp3", true);
    my_sound.setVolume(50);
    Code on Shell/main slide....
    //SOUND OBJECT
    var soundtrack:Sound = new Sound;
    soundtrack.setVolume(50);
    //END OF SOUND OBJECT
    //GLOBAL VOLUME CONTROL
    var nVolCheck:Number;
    volSlider.volBall.onPress = function():Void {
    this.startDrag (false, 0, 0, 75, 0);
    nVolCheck = setInterval(updateVolume, 150);
    volSlider.volBall.onRelease = function():Void {
    this.stopDrag ();
    clearInterval(nVolCheck);
    function updateVolume():Void {
    var vol:Number = (volSlider.volBall._x)*2;
    soundtrack.setVolume(vol);
    //END OF GLOBAL VOLUME CONTROL
    my bar is 75 pixels in width and the volume is being
    increased by 1.5 at its maximum.

  • Selecting multiple audio files

    My site is for choir members to help with rehearsing at home and to listen to our past concerts. I have pages where there are upto 20 pieces of music all accesible by their own individual link. This is fine if you want to sit at the computer and choose 1 at a time but a bit of a pita if you want to hear the whole concert. I have been asked to supply the option to listen to all of the files concecutively. The pages I am working with are password protected but are exactly the same as this page. http://www.wigstonmalechoir.co.uk/wmvc/Magic.html
    Can anyone offer me a solution please?

    When you want to put a number of audio files on a web page you need to ensure that they don't all have to load with the web page.
    There are a number of flash jukebox players around...

    The latest version of JW will also fallback to HTML5 for iOS devices...

    Here's some button players...

    ... that can be used for multiple files...

    If you want HTML5 with flash fallback and to be able to add tracks so that they act like a playlist, you can use mediaelement like this...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/Website-Music-Players/HTML5-Audio-In-A-Box.html
    The mediaelement player is a really good solution for HTML5 since it presents a uniform control bar in all browsers on personal computers.

    Mike,
    I was successful, in a test I just conducted, to get Siri to record your problem statement in a Note file on the iPod as I used the Edit > Speech feature in Safari to play the text. I don't see why dictation wouldn't work as well. Why not give it a try?
    If you don't have an iOS device to try this with, you could write your audio file to a CD and use an external player to get audio to the Mac.

  • Issue exporting multiple audio files

    I am trying to export all the audio files from a series of Captivate demos. When I select multiple files, it only exports two at most. I read the post about changing the Captivate 6.0 folder name in the adobe settings and did that twice with no success. Is there anything else that can be done?
