  • Message Document item not yet carried forward on closed lines

Situation:  A PO contains multiple line items and only the open lines are carried forward.  In the new fiscal year, I want to reduce the quantity or amount of the carried forward line, however, the system indicates that the closed lines have not yet been carried forward.  I can open posting periods 13 and 0 and successfully make the adjustments to the open lines and the closed lines are not carried forward.
Questions: Why does the system consider the closed lines when updating carried forward lines?  Is there a solution for updating open lines without opening these posting periods?

  • IO Actual Line Items Balance Carry Forward

    HI Guru's,
We are using one IO for  Expenses and Reciepts..
    Expenses is for 2007  1000
    Reciepts is for 2007    1500
    No Budget and Commitments Items..
any chance carry forward remaining balance 500 to next year..
    what is tcode..
    regards
    JK

    Hi,
This is not possible. An internal order is a tempory cost collector and not based on years.
To see the cost/sales you have to select in your report from to year.
You have only in FI and PCA a Balance carry foward for balance sheet accounts.(no P&L accounts, start next year with 0)
It is possibel to Cary forward budgets and commitments

  • Balance carry forward not happening for new entity

    Hello Gurus,
We added mid 2009 a new entity to be consolidated.
The balance carry forward assigns the last year results to retained earnings, this is the same accross all entities.
When executing the task in the monitor, there is no error message but it does no work, results end-up on a difference elimination item.
For all other entities, it works fine.
I wonder if there is a configuration that I overlooked.
    Many thanks for you inpput.
    Alex-

So you are saying that for all other consolidation units, the Balance CarryForward (BCF) was successful?
but for only one unit is was not successful?
    - I suggest to you that one of the following has occurred;
    1. there is no data against the balance sheet items for that unit (go to totals records to confirm YTD balance last year for all Balance Sheet items for that cons unit)
    2. there is only data against a specific item that has been set to carryforward to the "elimination" item that you mentioned (check the BCF items to be carried forward confgiuration)
    3. there is only data against Balance Sheet items that have been configured NOT to be carried forward (check the BCF config)
    4. you have configured some items incorrectly as Item Type; Income Statement or Statistical instead of Balance Sheet.
    5. You have missed the consolidation unit from the hierarchy for p1, 2010 (please also check the combinations if it is a matrix consolidation unit) so the BCF is not running for that unit at all
Checking these 5 should get you closer to the answer

  • How SEM BCS handled balance carried forward?

    Hi,
I would like to find out how SEM BCS handled balance carried forward?
    Income statement
    Profit after Tax - 50
    Balance Sheet
Retained profit (last year) - 100
    Current Year profit - 50
How do i configurate 'Profit after Tax' = 'Current Year profit' in workbench? Is BCS going to store the computed results?
Balance items (ie  'Retained profit (last year)' and 'Current Year profit') by default are carry forward to next year in BCS.
Do i need to configurate  'Current Year profit' add to 'Retained profit (last year)'?
    Pls advise.
    Thanks.
    Regards, Renee

    Hi Renee,
By default, the balance sheet items are to be carried forward to next year. If you don’t make any settings, both items, Retained profit (last year) and Current Year profit will be transferred to themselves, that is not correct.
You need to show the system which items are to be carried forward not to themselves.
To force the system to make the proper transfer, in UCWB go to Consolidation Functions -> Balance Carryforward -> Items to be Carried Forward.
    Enter there the following information:
    <b>Orig. Item__________Debit Item_______Credit Item</b>
Current Year profit____RE (last year)_____RE (last year)
Do the similar operation for all items to be carried to other than themselves items, for example dividends of the current and last years etc.
    Hope this helps.

  • SEM-BCS without carry forward

    Hi all,
Has someone configured SEM-BCS without the carry forward task.
And can you share the pros and cons of doing this?
    Thanks, Alvin

Thanks Greg, Dan, Thibaud for your responses. he are very much appreciated.
I wanted to attract some debate/discussion on the matter. Personally, I am not convinced that carry forward is not used.
However a bit more context. My client is using SAP PBF and PBF can pass on Opening balances to BCS.  BTW this relates to budgets more than actuals.
There are the usual related party eliminations and possibly consolidation of investments so that BCS can deal with them in a variety of reporting hierarchies.
    Other requirements include
    - budget may be increased/decreased 2-3 times a year
    - these increases/decreases are captured as adjustments for the relevant period. This changed budget (sometimes for the same fiscal year) is the authority for spending
    - there are 4 years of estimates (say Est1, Est2, Est3, Est4 representing each future year) and they do not roll on to each other.  In other words, Est1 do not roll into est 2 and est 2 do not roll into est 3 and so on.  Rather est 1 roll into est 1, est2 into est 2, either in the same fiscal year or the next fiscal year (it sounds confusing hence I hesitated to put that with my initial question)
So far, based on other conversations, I have gathered the following:
    - Not generally done in BCS where opening balances are required
    - Documents posted in the previous year will not inverse
    - Consolidation adjustments relating to previous years will have to be re-posted in current period. Flexibility to report these adjustments for a particular period will be lost.
    - Additional items/subitems will be required for opening balances, as compared to opening balances captured in period 00,
    - Many BEx reports (probably some reclasses and allocations) that are looking for the beginning balances in the period 000 will start malfunctioning.
    - Copy Tasks (this will used for different consolidation versions) may end up with incorrect data if they require previous period results
    - Not being able to close book for the year?
    Anymore input would be appreciated.
    Cheers, A

  • Funds management commitment carry forward

    hi,
we have got funds management activated in our system. we started a new fiscal year and i ran fmj2 to carryforward all FM commitments. now when i try to changed purchase orders created in the previous fiscal year i get an error "Document item 10124941/00001 has not yet been carried forward to the current year". please advise.

Also you have carry out year end closing for FI & MM. then you have to carry forward the balance to next year. for goto periodic processing closing then carry forward here you will find 3 steps 1. determine 2. calculate 3. execute.
There may slight variation but this activity has to be done.

  • Carried forward of  total in sapscript

    Hi Expert:
For a multiple-page invoice, I want to print the current total as carry forward amount or subtotal on the current page and on the subsequent page.
Please note down I am talking about SAPSCRIPT only.
Eventhough I tried to do it by using summing  but it gives short dump .
Appreciation for your urgent reply and thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Shashi

    hi shashi,
    just check this ..
Summing a Program Symbol: SUMMING The SUMMING command is used for accumulating a total value for a program symbol. The command should be specified just once. Then, each time the specified program symbol is formatted, its current value is added into the total symbol. Several program symbols may all be added into a single total symbol. Syntax: /: SUMMING program_symbol INTO total_symbol SAPscript cannot create the field for the total dynamically. The symbol used must be defined in a TABLES structure in the calling program.
For details on summing and carrying forward, see Summing and Carrying Forward is Incorrect. 6.21.1 Summing and Carrying Forward is Incorrect Assume that for a multiple-page invoice, you want to print the current total as carry forward amount or subtotal on the current page and on the subsequent page. However, the carry forward amount is incorrect or missing. The following causes are possible: • You do not use program symbols with Dictionary reference for totalling. • You place the carry forward amount into the BOTTOM area. SAPscript processes the BOTTOM area at the beginning of a page; therefore it is not suited for carry forward amounts. • If you place the carry forwards amount into the TOP area of the main window on the subsequent page, the carry forward amount may be higher than it should be: This happens if the last part of text of the previous page does not fit onto the page, but the text is held together, for example, by a PROTECT command. In this case, a local text symbol must receive the carry forward amount. You must place the carry forward amount on the current page into a window of type VAR. On the subsequent page, use a local text symbol to print the amount in the TOP area of the main window: 1. At the beginning of the form main text (before printing the first text element), define the amount variable and the total variable (both must be program symbols or Dictionary amount fields). In the example below, we use the SUMMING command to determine that for each output of &SUMTAB-AMOUNT& the system automatically sums up the amount in the total variable &SUMTAB-TOTAL&. At the end of the page, &SUMTAB-TOTAL& contains the carry forward amount of the current page or the grand total, respectively. In this example, we also define a local symbol &LASTPAGE& to print the grand total on the last page.
    /: SUMMING &SUMTAB-AMOUNT& INTO &SUMTAB-TOTAL& /: DEFINE &LASTPAGE& = ‘ ‘
    2. At the end of the form main text (when printing the last text element of the main window), set the local textsymbol &LASTPAGE& to a different value, such as ‘X’:
    /: DEFINE &LASTPAGE& = ‘X’
    3. To print the carry forward amount in the TOP area of the subsequent page including the pre-text 'Carry forward' and a tab, we use the local text symbol &CARRY. The corresponding text element is also defined in the main window:
    /E CARRY
    &’Carry forward:,,’CARRY&
(CALL FUNCTION WRITE_FORM EXPORTING ELEMENT = ‘CARRY’ TYPE = ‘TOP’) 4. Define the carry forward window on the current page as type VAR and position it at the end of the main window of the page. Print the carry forward amount there and define the local text symbol &CARRY& to print the amount again in the TOP area of the subsequent page. Use the local text symbol &LASTPAGE& to print the grand total on the last page. The carry forward window then contains the following text (define it as paragraph T1 with tab):
    /: IF &LASTPAGE& = ‘X’ T1 <H>Grand total:,,&SUMTAB-TOTAL&</> /: ELSE T1 <H>Carry forward:,,&SUMTAB-TOTAL&</> /: DEFINE &CARRY& = &SUMTAB-TOTAL& /: ENDIF
    hope this helps

  • F.16 carry forward

    Hi All,
I have a requirement that, we are using F.16 tcode for carry forward for a particular year.
F.16 uses T030 a table to carry forward the balances to balance sheet account and profit and loss accounts. Since T030 contains balance sheet accounts.
My requirment is that,  i have to bypass this T030 table, and post to new accounts instead of using this T030 table accounts to carry forward the amounts to new year.
Now i have copied the F.16 related programs and started changing it. But i do not know how to Bypass T030 table accounts and then carry forward the same amount to new accounts.
Please help me out reagrding this. How can i achive this? Or is there any other altervative to carry forward the amounts to new year?

    Hi,
JV means manual entry by F-02. Transfer the balances of the GL accounts you do not wish to carry forward to the one you want to.. Once you do the transfer posting, carry out the carry forward procedure.

  • Actuals after Commitment and Budget Carry forwards

We recently did a Commitment Carry Forward using CJCF from year 2009 to 2010 (but did not do budget  carry forward) and this added the Assigned amount by USD 100 in 2010 for the WBS Element.
I have some doubts and my questions are :
    1) when I do the Goods Receipt in 2010 for the commitments carried forward, will the system check for 2009 budget or 2010 budget ?
    2) if it checks for 2009 budget and adds to the actuals in 2010, will it not be an incorrect business process ?
    3) what would have happened if the budget had also been carried forward from 2009 to 2010.
    Thanks for any response.

In budget tolerence limit setting if you have maintained budget check ++ means for all trancastion the system will check for budget against posting values whenever you execute any transaction system will compare the values against available budget of posting year.
in you case at the time po coiitments are created in 2009 and checked for available budget for 2009 now you are posting GR / service entry in year 2010 at this time your PO commitments are going to transfer to actuals but as posting is happening in 2010 system will check for the budget availability for year 2010.
so for any annual budget project at the end of year you have to carryforward commitments and buget to next year.

  • Carry Forward of Budget in Investment Program

    Dear Experts
I am trying to carry forward the budget of the Investment program from FY 2010 to FY 2011. I have used IM27 for copying the program structure and Internal Orders. The Budget Values, Commitments of IO has been carried forward but I am not able to carry forward the budget at the Position ID and NODE Level.
    Kindly help.
    Vikash

    Hello,
You can run the BPCARRY01 program to copy the most recent budget structure to a target year. In doing so, you no longer have to maintain BS elements that already exist.
You execute the program, under Accounting - Public Sector Management  - Funds Management - Master Data - Budget Structure - Former Budgeting  -Transfer from Previous Year. This is, as Eli said, FM9Z.

  • Financial reporting and balance carry forward at Line item level

    Hello
We are in the process of implementing a new GL and using it to create Balance Sheet and P&L statements in BW.
We have installed the new datasource for GL line items 0FI_GL_14 and loaded the data to a DSO. Installed the 0FI_GL_10 (totals infosource) as well.
Also we created a custom infocube on the line items DSO and want to use it to report against a Financial Statement Version. In order to do that we created a
virtual cube with the FM and added the necessary Financial Statement Item and other key figures in the virtual infocube.
Now I want to know is it the correct way to create financial reports?
Can we load totals and Line items to the same infocube? Do we have to load totals to a different DSO/Cube or same Cube?
How do we address the Balance Carry Forward on the Line items cube? Since the balance carry forward is done on totals only, and the cube I created is a detailed cube is it possible to carry forward balances at that level?
Also can someone let me know what is the best approach to create financial reports and give drill down capability at the document level?
    Thanks in Advance
    Raju Kosuru

Now I want to know is it the correct way to create financial reports?
    NO .. Its not.
Can we load totals and Line items to the same infocube?
    NO
Do we have to load totals to a different DSO/Cube or same Cube?
Yes.. SAP has delivered C10 for Totals and O14 for line items... No point in creating cube for line items i.e. on top of O14.
Balance carry forward can be done on  totals only (that is how totals extractor _10 is designed), U can not do that on the Line items. Pls contact functional consultant for clarification
Best approach is RRI (Jump targets) for _10 report to _14 report to give drill down capability at the document level.

  • Customer line items with balance carry forward no opening balance

    Hello FI Experts,
We have ticket where the user is using a Z* Report for Customer line items with balance carry forward. In 31.01.2007 user has posted some legacy data, latter he was executing this Z* report then user can see the values posted on the same day (31.01.2007) as line items. But he was executing the report on 01.02.2007 then he was not able to see the line item as well as the values posted on 31.01.2007 as opening balance as on 01.02.2007. But if we run the report as on 01.01.2008 then we are able to see the values which are carry forwarded as opening balances. Did anyone have worked on this type of scenario?
Requirement Here Is:  The values that have been posted on 31.03.2007 which are still open line items should get displayed as opening balance as on 01.02.2007.
Thanks for helping on this issue.

    Hi,
Any report will get data from Tables. Please check whether the table you have used to develop this report has opening balance.
Balance will be carry forwarded only when you run the balance carry forward program. Check whether this was run for the date you have specified. This can be done in the year end.
If you are checking in the middle of the year, then the balance will not be carry forwarded.
    Regards,
    B. Radhika.
