Extract Icon

I have downloaded this icon set:
http://interfacelift.com/icons-mac/details.php?id=1867
I can apply them to anywhere using the "Get Info" method. My problem is that i want those icons as image files but I just couldn't figure out how to do that. The files are all Zero Bytes (according to terminal, but 60KB according to finder) also i just cant "get info" copy the icon and paste in finder as it was a file. Any clue ?

Hi,
I can't find that menu item under Finder's File menu.
I mentioned Preview (as in the application 'Preview'), not the Finder

  • How to extract  icon from windows exe  in java

I have a windows ex e file which has icons , how can i extract from
my java code? Where can i find a example code for doing this.

You could do it by JNI-invoking into the dll, fetch the icon through LoadIcon, draw the icon onto a jawt drawing surface, return the pixel data of the icon to the java app or whatever. A lot of work for a little more than a thousand pixels. My advice would be to put the icon in the jar file instead, if that's an option.

  • Extracting Icons from MacIntosh Forms

Does anyone know how to extract the icons from a MacIntosh form (Forms 4.5) so that I can migrate them to an NT platform (Forms 6)?

    Hi,
your problem is not the exported data, it's Excel that drops the leading zeros by default.
You can use a custom pattern to keep the leading zeros.
0#### will display intergers with up to 5 places with a leading zero.
    Value:           Displayed Value:
    012               012
    12345          12345
    0045             0045

  • Windows Registered File Types and Icons

Hi does anyone know how to get the list of extensions and file types that are registered in Windows.
Also is there a way to get a file icon(that is registered with windows) without using the whole file path. For example if I just want to display the icon for .xls files without using the name, is that possible?
    Thanks

Icons are stored in the exe files, dll files, etc (which I suppose you know) so they can be extracted with ExtractIcon(). From java's perspective, they don't exist at all so you have two options:
    1) Make some assumptions about the file types you will be handling and store the appropriate icons in your jar file then use FileFilter to decide which icon to display.
    2) Use extract icon as mentioned above.

  • How to scan documents in windows 8.1 on hp pavillon g 7, using an all-in-one photosmart printer

I have recently bought the pavillon g7 but can't find the hp icon I used to use for scanning. Could you please tell me where to find it; then how I should proceed. (I installed "scan/capture" but couldn't do anything with that either!) Thanks for any help.

Interesting to know that normal file extraction did not work. Try these steps:
Please download the program known as "WinRar" from this website: WinRAR.com
Open the WinRAR program and click on the arrow on the upper right side to choose your file destination
Choose your Full Feature Software and Driver you downloaded previously.
Select the Extract Icon at the top and you will see the following window open. Choose the folder you created on the desktop and click OK.
Once this extraction has completed, we can open the folder on the desktop and run the Setup.exe file.
Let me how it goes when it works. Thanks!

  • Ios7 parental controls password reset

How do I iOS 7 parental controls password reset or view?

I found this on the web and helped me edit an file and reset it to a passcode I could remember. These instructions are for more advance people with some understanding of programming and remember you do this at your own risk. Please don't blame me or anyone else for "bricking" iPhone or iPad if you do it wrong. Here are the instructions:
    Download iBackupBot
    Connect iPhone/iPod/iPad via USB
    Backup device to iTunes
Close iTunes (leave your device plugged in to your computer)
Open iBackupBot - this will open all device backups that it can find
Select your backup from the left column
Sort right hand pane by Path and locate "Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist" (there may be two files named this; try them both) and double-click to open
Extracted it (and only it) to the desktop. Do this by Checkmark the file, then select the Extract Icon (or File - Export menu), then select the checkbox that says only that file and the other checkbox that says something about Info about the file. Two files will appear on your desktop - one ending in plist and the other ending in .info.
Edit com.apple.springboard.plist with you favourite plist editor (e.g. Xcode)
Look for and change the string for "SBParentalControlsFailedAttempts" to 0
    Add in<key>SBParentalControlsPIN</key> <string>1234</string>
    after
    <dict> <key>countryCode</key> <string>us</string> </dict>
Save your changes, and return to iBackupBot
Import the modified plist. It is now in the backup!
    Exit iBackupBot
Open iTunes and use Restore Backup to your device
After restore is done and phone restarts the password should be 1234.
I reset my son's iPhone with this method after I forgot the passcode. This worked on iOS 7 iPhone 4.
Here is the original link http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/55528/how-do-i-remove-the-restriction-p asscode-on-my-ipad
Us parents need some device to help us to remember these darn passcodes
    Good luck.

  • Mpg4 editing problems in Premiere Pro CS5

I've been working with pp CS 5 or CS5.5 for a little while, and have hit a snag.
    1.  I have a file that is an mpg file, created a long time ago, and has bad color balance.  over an hour
    2. I imported it into After Effects, tweaked the colors, and exported it as an mp4 file.
    3. It plays just fine.
    4. I created a new project in PP, created a new sequence, imported the mp4 and put it into the time line.  It plays fine.  I need to clip spots out.
    5. I set an in point and an outpoint on the main screen, and can see the bar with the timing ticks show gray between the inpoint and outpoing.
The timing marks are on the timeline, but don't extend down across the video and audio tracks.  I locked and synced the tracks.
Chosing ripple cut, I can move the inpoint to the outpoint, but it still plays the 15 frames between the in and out point.  I have used the extract icon on the main preview screen where I set the in and out, and still it doesn't delte anything.  I was playing around with some other section trying
to delete them from the sequence, and it says that all frames are in use.
I know this is pilot error somewhere.  It isn't working like the web tutorials show.  Is this because this is a compressed MP4 rather than an MPEG?  There is only 1 clip (the entire file) in the project.
The goal is to simply delete some bad sections where the talent hems, haws, makes a mistake and corrects himself etc.  I want to delete them and close the gap.  Any help as to what I missed would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    Woody

I know this is pilot error somewhere.
I would recommend reading the PDF file.  Go through from start to finish, in sequence.  Try each new thing as you learn about it.  Look up any words you don't understand as you go.
Once you have the data on how to use the program, chances are you will know exactly where things went wrong.

  • Compiz standalone theming

hello all I finally got a nice Compiz standalone desktop with tint2 and xfce4panel running but I was wondering how I can change the windows themes, like the colors and stuff.. it all looks very win98 ish and I'm REALLY tired of that look this bugs especially in pcmanfm or any configuration window.
dont know how to post screenshot....

use lxappearance, it's in the repos.
extract the themes in /home/your-user/.themes folder.
you can also extract icons and cursors in the .icons folder.
I assume you'll use a gtk theme, so run qtconfig and choose to use gtk+ in "gui style", so the qt applications match the gtk ones (only necessary if you use qt applications, like vlc or clementine, otherwise they'll look old regardless the gtk theme).

  • Is com.ms.wfc  only solution for extracting associated file icon on WinXX?

Did someone ever succeed to extract associated file icon on some of the WinXX OS(in a form of Icon, Image or similar object)? If yes, then please supply idea, because after 10 ours searching, I didn't find anything except "...write your own code that will use JNI to call WinAPI".
I didn't check in com.ms.wfc because I'm not sure is it possible to mix ANY code from WFC with code from JFC (I will appreciate some advice about that) ?

Is it possible that no one knows the answer ?

  • How to extract .sit mac icon archives??

I need some help I´m configuring my fvwm at the moment. and therefore i´m looking to get some nice icons. So I downloaded somenice collections. But this files are mostly archives for mac os. How can i handle/extract this ones or how can i convert it.
    volker@LegBox:~$file 0519_appbubbles.sit
    0519_appbubbles.sit: StuffIt Archive
    Thanks so far[/code]

Since Aladdin Systems controls the source code for StuffIt, your only choice when you receive an .sit file is to use the Aladdin Expander for Linux, which is currently in beta (but quite usable). Aladdin Systems has made the beta available to the public as freeware: you do not have to pay cash for it, but you do not get access to the source code either. Currently there are no tools for Linux that will create .sit archives.
To decompress an .sit archive, type unstuff archive.sit. The extracted files will go into the present working directory unless you use the -d option, which lets you specify the destination directory: unstuff -d=/home/james/oldmacfiles archive.sit If the file you unpack was protected with a password, use the -p option: unstuff -p=secret archive.sit. The text file translation filer option takes care of translating end-of-line characters from LF to CRLF and back again: unstuff -text=auto -eol=unix archive.sit.
    http://www.stuffit.com/unix/stuffit/index.html
    Thanks Google.

  • After extracting the Beta 4, when I click the Icon on the desktop, it goes back to the download page of 3.16.

I had a pop up on opening firefox that I should upgrade to 3.16, so I did.
After extracting installing, when I click the firefox icon on the desktop, I get a download page to 3.16.
I uninstalled Firefox. Restarted the machine and downloaded the Beta4.
After it installed, when I click the firefox icon on the desktop, I get to the download page of 3.16.

First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.
If both of the above don't help, you should try a restore (Settings > General > Reset > Restore).

  • Turkish WinRAR extracting Photoshop?

I'll try to explain it as clear and concise as I can...
At work, I am having trouble with Adobe Photoshop CS3... (I'll refer to the PC in question as "My PC")
My C-drive generally has about 1 or 1,5gigabytes of free memory
Photoshop CS3 is installed on my E-drive
Recently, I've encountered a problem when I tried to start-up Photoshop, the same way I always do; I doubleclick the icon on my desktop, when all of a sudden some program popped up with a strange language, that had a bar with green and grey in it. After taking a screenshot and clicking the button that appeared to be the Cancel button I restarted my PC and tried again, this time it just started up.
I then tried to find the location where this program was extracting to, but I couldn't find the folder it referred to.
I just copied the text into Google Translate and found it that it was turkish, and at many places to find an answer as to what this was, what it was doing and why it was doing it, but so far, I've not gotten a single answer, and I am quite concerned, since it's filling up my C-drive quickly, and I only have 182mb left by now.
This problem has even cost me an entire day worth of work already, and I am seriously getting frustrated right now, so I hope anyone in here might know what I'm talking about, I've added in a screenshot of the program that started up instead of the Adobe Photoshop CS3 which was supposed to start up.
    I'd like to note 2 things;
    1. The location on the drive to where it's extracting can't be found.
    2. The photoshop icon in the top-left of the program.
so, if anybody has any idea what is going on and how to solve it, please help, because I'm at a loss right now, and it's endangering my work
    yours truly

Where are the Photoshop Temp files located? and what is the best way to delete them?
and how can I remove the temp-files from previous photoshop shutdowns?
Open the file explorer use the organize pull-down and click on Folder and Search options. In the Folder Option window use the View tab and un-check any checked hide boxes and under hidden turn on show hidden files, folders and drive then click OK. Now back in File explorer point to c: Then in the upper right corner click on the search magnifying glass add a filter for a date range and the press the enter key.  Sort the result by size and delete any large temp files found.
Do an other search type something like *RarSFX5* in the search field amd press enter.

  • Extracted Time Capsule Disk – Can't See Old Backups in Time Machine UI

    Hello,
I was one of the unfortunate souls that purchased a Time Capsule in March of 2008, only to have its power supply die last month. Instead of buying a new one, I decided to take out the hard drive and attach it to an Airport Extreme.
The first few steps went fine: opened the TC, got the drive out, put it in a new case and hooked it up. Once I had it mounted, I told Time Machine to do a backup. And it did. And it was merely an incremental one. I was optimistic.
However, now when I "enter the Time Machine," I can only see the latest state ("Today/Now").
I'm wondering if anyone has an experience successfully extracting a TC drive, or if anyone has encountered my specific problem before. The fact that the backup action recognized the existing backups has me hopeful that there's simply some arcane preference somewhere that will make the Time Machine UI recognize everything properly. After all, the point of extracting the drive was so that I didn't have to start over.
    Thanks!

Ok, immediately after posting I read Pondini's "Time Machine - TROUBLESHOOTING" thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2057525) and found a solution in E2:
Also, sometimes TM will start a new "sequence" of backups, as if they were from a different Mac.
To see these "other" backups, you need the (badly named) Browse Other Time Machine Disks option. It's available by holding down the Option key while selecting the TM icon in your Menubar, or by control-clicking (right-clicking) the TM icon in your Dock.
You'll see a selection screen showing all the disks/partitions that have TM backups on them. Select the one you want, and you'll be taken to the normal TM "Star Wars" interface, where you should see all the backups on that disk/partition.
In my case, there was only the one disk showing, but when i selected it, all of my backups were visible.
I'm not going to mark this as "Answered" yet, because the regular "Enter Time Machine" menu option still does not work, as described above. But at least now I have a workaround to access the backups.

I develop a form with only a push button. I developed form using oracle 10DS. I have saved my form in application server. To see an icon in my button, i did the following things:
    1. In application server i made a jar named test.jar. It consists of just two gif images.

I tried many times. But could not be successful. Then I just kept my icons in
\forms90\java directory without making jar. In my form, icon file name is the icon name without extension. Here, i can see my icon in button. but if i replace an icon
without changing the name of the icon, then i always see the old icon. The new icon, i can not see.
Please, help me with only Oracle 10g AS how i can see icon in button. Let's assume, there is not oracle 10g DS (any development tool) in the machine where the form is run.
Please, guide me clearly step by step so that i might be successful.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Bernard,
It works fine with JInitiator but not working with
the JPI. For JPI what settings I need to do ??hi TKARIM and Bernard, i am having similar problem even with the Bernard's recommended setup. could you post the webutiljini.htm (i presume you are using config=test) ?
i am actually using jinitiator 1.3.1.28 with Oracle HTTP Server of OAS 10gR2) calling Forms Server 6i (f60cgi). After setting up according to Bernard's recommended setup steps, the java console showed that it loaded the icon jar file when it could not read the form, but it skipped the loading of the icon jar file once it read and started the form. How do we specify in the form to pick up the icon from the jar file instead from a directory ? Or do we need to specify ? Any ideas ?
    Thx and Regards
