Extracting File

Hello Guru,
We are going to extract data from excel(csv) file.File will be everyday - deliveries_YYYYMMDD.csv.File will be delivered everyday in one directory.My question is how can we extract this file everyday ? .We can give path to the directory but everyday file will be with different date ??? What should we do ?
Please advice me.Thanks in advance.

In the routine of Datasource you will set as following:
orm compute_flat_file_filename
  using    p_infopackage  type rslogdpid
           p_datasource   type rsoltpsourcer
           p_logsys       type rsslogsys
  changing p_filename     type RSFILENM
           p_subrc        like sy-subrc.
$$ begin of routine - insert your code only below this line        -
This routine will be called by the adapter,
when the infopackage is executed.
  DATA Z_FILENAME TYPE RSFILENM.
  DATA ZFILE_13(100).
  DATA: ZDATE LIKE SY-DATUM,        DD(2),
        MM(2),
        YY(4).
  ZDATE = SY-DATUM.
  Z_FILENAME =
  your path of local client.
  YY = ZDATE+0(4).
  MM = ZDATE+4(2).
  DD = ZDATE+6(2).
  CONCATENATE YY MM DD INTO ZFILE_13.
  CONCATENATE Z_FILENAME  ZFILE_13  '.csv' INTO Z_FILENAME.
p_filename = Z_FILENAME.
   p_subrc = 0.
$$ end of routine - insert your code only before this line         -
endform.
Create an infopackage with similar setting as that of datasource.

    Problem:
    I upgraded Leopard to Snow Leopard. Everything worked fine for a month. To free up disk space I deleted some of the iPhoto flders (modfied and original images). Everything worked still fine. Shut down the computer. Next day it was incredibly slow. At the same time the indexing was running. I stopped indexing, but stll slow. Every operation took minutes. I tried all the tricks that I found in the internet (repaired file permissions, repaired disk, cleared PRAM , moved big filed from desktop, etc.). After 24 full hours of trying all this I decided to erase the hard drive and reinstall, directly from the Snow Leopard Install disk, but it fails after downloading the packages. Below is the part of the log. Then I tried to use the old Leopard install DVD to reinstall Leopard, it then sais estimated time 12 hours or so and eventually crashed, spitting out a lot of "reportcrash" in the log. What is going on? I'm running out of options. Any advice? Would zeroing the hard drive help? If nothing else I plan to buy a new hard drive, since the only explanation I have is that there is a problem with the hard driven although the disk utility says it is OK. I need a bigger one anyway. Any ideas? Thank you!

    It sounds to me like your Internal Hard Drive is failing.
    I recommend you buy a new one, that is a good candidate for replacing the old one, but install it in an External enclosure and Install a fresh Mac OS X on it from the DVD. You can boot your Mac from any attached drive.
    The new System can be used to get some work done, check your emails, and takes the pressure off resolving this immediately. You can also attempt to salvage files off the old drive if needed.
    Once things seem to be working, then move the new drive inside the computer. Failures at this point may be due to bad cable, which has been a problem in some of these MacBooks.
    Use security erase, write Zeroes, one pass, to re-write every block on the old drive. Any block discovered to be bad will be replaced with spares the drive holds in reserve for this purpose. If more than 10 blocks are pared on one pass, "Initialization Failed!" will be the result. Although you can try the erase again, there is some question whether you want to trust this drive with your precious data.

  • Photoshop Lightroom 4.3 installer problem extracting files

    I am using Windows 7. I have downloaded Lightroom 4.3 trial (using Safari as IE refused). I click to run the download. It chooses folder "C:\Users\sarah.horsman\Desktop\Adobe\Photoshop Lightroom 4.3" by default. The bar gives 100% complete then pops up error message "A problem occurred while extracting files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder. I have 125GB free on my hard drive and I have admin permissions and "full control" on the desktop security. I have tried downloading to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe" instead but get the same error. Have tried several times now but just can't get Lightroom up and running. Grateful for any help. Thanks.

    Just a followup. First of all, I forgot to mention that I am using x64 win 7.
    Downloaded 4.3 with IE9. It reppoted the file as unsafe. Same result when running it.  In my case, the install only goes to 1% berfore the "A problem occurred while extracting files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder" message pops up. Tried the install without MSE running and still no luck.
    I have never had such a problem with any previous version of Lightroom, going back to 1.x!

  • SQL Server 2014 Express extract file parameter?

    I am working to bundle SQL Server 2014 Express with an application.  I am using the following command line to install via an InstallShield prerequisite:  /qs /INSTANCENAME=MYINSTANCE /ACTION="Install" /FEATURES=SQLEngine,Conn,SSMS
    /SECURITYMODE=SQL /SAPWD="Password" /TCPENABLED=1 /SQLSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" /IACCEPTSQLSERVERLICENSETERMS
    The installer I am using is SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU.exe.
    When the installer starts up their is a dialog named:  Choose Directory for Extract Files.  In earlier versions of SQL Server Express this dialog did not require the user to press Ok to continue.  Since it takes several minutes to install
    SQL Server Express I prefer to show the installation to the user, so they can see that something is taking place.  The /q (Quiet) parameter will suppress this dialog, but nothing is seen for several minutes.  Note:  the Installer documentation
    does state that:  The /QS switch only shows progress, does not accept any input, and displays no error messages if encountered. The /QS parameter is only supported when /Action=install is specified.  Consequently, I believe the /QS parameter
    should not be requiring input.
    All that for these questions:
    1) Is there away to suppress this dialog while still using the /qs (Quiet Simple) parameter.
    2) Is there a parameter to tell the installer to extract the files to a specified location?
    Thanks,
    Les

    Hi,
    After you download the installation package of SQL Server Express 2014, and extracts it to the specified location, the dialog of “Choose Directory for Extract Files” will appear when you install the SQL Server Express. Usually, we need to use the following
    steps to extract the setup files to a temporary location.
    1.In the Command Prompt window type %USERPROFILE%\Downloads\ SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU.exe /x
    2.When prompted to Choose Directory For Extracted Files type C:\SQLEXPR and click OK to extract the files.
    Or suppress the dialog to extract the right location in SQL Server Express 2008 or other lower version. Such as
    c:\temp>SQLEXPRWT_x64_ENU.exe /extract: "c:\temp".
    However, in SQL Server Express 2014, I do a test, we could not suppress the dialog or use the parameters directly to extract in command line. For more information about
    installing SQL Server 2014 from the Command Prompt, you can review the following article.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144259.aspx
    If necessary, personally, I recommend you can provide Microsoft a feature request at
    https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer so that we can try to modify and expand the product features based on your needs.

    Also heres a handy little function that makes it easy to extract files from CLI if you cant remember the cmds. I have it in my /etc/bash.bashrc so it works for all users. Type "extract foo.bar" to extract. You might also need to install unzip,unrar or others.
    extract () {
    if [ -f $1 ] ; then
    case $1 in
    *.tar.bz2) tar xvjf $1 ;;

  • Zip.ZipInputStream cannot extract files with Chinese chars in name

    Dear friends,
    Peace b upon u!
    I am trying to read a zip file (~3000 files)containing one
    or more files with Chinese, Japanese or Korean names, the
    getNextEntry method throws an IllegalArgumentException as below after extracting just ~300 files as below:-
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException
            at java.util.zip.ZipInputStream.getUTF8String(Unknown Source)
            at java.util.zip.ZipInputStream.readLOC(Unknown Source)
            at java.util.zip.ZipInputStream.getNextEntry(Unknown Source)
            at testZipFiles.getZipFiles(testZipFiles.java:65)
            at testZipFiles.main(testZipFiles.java:18) issue:java.util.zip.ZipInputStream cannot extract files with Chinese chars in name
    Category java:classes_util_jarzip
    Plz let me know 1 of the ways which I can solve this issue.
    1)if someone has JAVA DCOMPILER plz send the SOURCE Code
    for the ZipInputStream.class to me..I need to edit it using 1 of the solutions as provided below which I googled.
    2)If there is an alternate or upgraded java.util.zip.ZipInputStream or any org.apache.tools.zip.* package which can read such files..If yes where I can download the same on net.
    3)Any other easier solution, which can let me extract all files (by excluding Chinese files thru CATCH) without the extractor process to fail altogether.
    On net I found that the only solution with this is:-
    - edit the new ZipEntry, remove the static initializer that calls
    the native methods initIDs().
    this step seems a bit scary, but it's according to the
    workaround
    to bug #4244499 (the workaround of Olive64, THU JUN 05
    01:55 P.M. 2003),
    that handles a similar bug at the ZipOutputStream.
    Now you have a ZipInputStream that supports multi-bytes
    entry names.
    to extract the zip file, using the fixed code that is offered
    above,
    create a function that gets an "encoding" string, a "destPath"
    string
    and a "sourceFile" (zipped) and does :
    ZipInputStream zipinputstream = null;
    ZipEntry zipentry;
    zipinputstream = new ZipInputStream(new FileInputStream
    (sourceFile),encoding);
    zipentry = zipinputstream.getNextEntry();
    while (zipentry != null) { //for each entry to be extracted
        String entryName = zipentry.getName();
        int n;
        FileOutputStream fileoutputstream = new FileOutputStream
    ( destPath + entryName );
        while ((n = zipinputstream.read(buf, 0, 1024)) > -1)
            fileoutputstream.write(buf, 0, n);
        fileoutputstream.close();
        zipinputstream.closeEntry();
        zipentry = zipinputstream.getNextEntry();
    }//while
    zipinputstream.close();

    Hi friend,
    We'd better to ask one question in each thread. If you have another issue, you can consider to open up a new thread in this forum.
    Now for the first question, do you mean this picture? It throws access exception in archive2.
    If so , because your extractPath is a path, not a directory.You should add +"xxx.zip". For more information, please refer to
    ZipFile.Open
    Method (String, ZipArchiveMode).
    For the second question, you can use the following code to skip the error message.
    while (true)
    try
    //do something;
    catch (Exception ex)
    { continue; }

  • Extracting files from Portfolio - problem with outlook email created portfolios

    Currently I have developed a plugin that can extract files from portfolios using:-
    PDNameTree tree = PDDocGetNameTree(pdDoc, ASAtomFromString("EmbeddedFiles"));
    and
    PDFileAttachmentFromCosObj
    But i've noticed with Outlook email created portfolios the above is PDNameTree invalid.  any suggestions?   is it under another atom string or something?
    Thanks,
    Lee.

    ok, found something out here... if I close the doc using AVDocClose then re-open in the code using PDDocOpen then the PDNameTree tree = PDDocGetNameTree(pdDoc, ASAtomFromString("EmbeddedFiles"));  works!!!
    but now I have a problem getting the original pdf open filename.
    usually can get it with below code but it's returning the Folder path + garbage instead. (this only happens with portfolios created by outlook that I have tested)
    There must be a better way of doing this, any ideas? thanks, lee.
    ASFile asFile = PDDocGetFile(pdDoc);
    ASPathName asPathName = ASFileAcquirePathName(asFile);
    char* temp = ASFileSysDIPathFromPath(ASGetDefaultFileSys(), asPathName, NULL);

  • What can I use in mac to extract files

    Guys
    as you can tell by my questions I'm new in Mac, I like to know what tool I can use in mac to extract files like in PC WinZip, I downloaded free trial of Photoshop and I need to extract the file I'm not sure if Mac already came it a tool or I need to downloaded,
    do you have any list of tools or applications use in PC amd the equivalent in Mac

    I made the switch from PC to Macs about a year ago and was surprised I did not need to add any extraction utilities. Have you tried just double clicking on the downloaded file, it should install without any effort other than the double click.

  • Dimension and Fact out of Daily Extract File

    Hi Folks,
              We have a third party vendor which provides us with a daily extract of data in an excel file with about 40 columns. Some of the columns are a typical detail info like "State Name", "Payer
    Name" etc. and some are numerical columns like "Billing rate", "Amount Paid" etc.
    Now for long term reporting I want to setup a proper datawarehouse with Dimension and Fact Tables. The issue is that the third party vendor is not giving us access to the database source of these excel extracts.  So, If I want to design a Dimension
    like Dim_Payer, I have only those Payer which are available in the daily excel extract file.
    I was thinking of doing a reverse ETL process to load Dimension and Fact Table. So I read the daily excel extract file for unique Payer names and then load the Dimension table with unique keys for Payer. Going forward I only add new Payers. I then load the
    Fact tables with these keys.
    Let me know if my approach has any issues.
    Thanks!

    The approach looks fine.
    What you could do is to have a SSIS package using data flow task. In it use a excel source and have a set of lookup tasks to see if payer, state etc exists and link the no match output to OLEDB destinations to insert missing values to the table. Finally
    have a data flow task to insert data to fact table after having lookups with relevant dimensions to get the reference ids.

  • Tar extract file in particular directory excluding path stored in tar file

    In winzip you have chk box 'Use Foldername', if you uncheck it, all files will be extracted to path given in Extract to:
    Like winzip, do you have facility to extract files from tar file to a particular directory ignoring path stored in tar file.
    os - linux,unix
    regds

    Using -C <new_directory> options creates
    subdirectories under the new_directory as per path
    stored in tar file
    I just want to extract the files in the -C directory.
    e.g.
    # tar -tvf archive.tar
    -rw-r----- oracle/oinstall 4669440 2006-11-30
    13:23:02 /app/fmb/FORM1.fmb
    -rw-r----- oracle/oinstall 200704 2006-11-29
    10:18:25 /app/fmb/FORM2.fmb
    when i give following command
    tar -xvf archive.tar -C TargetDir
    creats subdirectory app/fmb in this TargetDir and
    then extract the files Forms1.fmb
    TargetDir/app/fmb/FORM1.fmb
    TargetDir/app/fmb/FORM2.fmb.
    where as i want FORM1.fmb and FORM2.fmb in TargetDir
    TargetDir/FORM1.fmb
    TargetDir/FORM2.fmb
    regdsit's include directory information when you run tar cvf.
    you can do the following action
    1. cd /app/fmb/
    2. tar cvf archive.tar *
    3. tar -xvf archive.tar -C TargetDir

  • Cannot extract files

    Hi ive been looking on this website for help trying to extract files on my mac and i've come across answers like downloading stuffit or unarchiever and these are both not working.
    When i download a file usually ending with .exe my mac says it cannot extract this file then even on unarchiever i have every type of file selected for it to open it says that the contents of my file cannot be extracted with this program what is going on can anyone help me

    As cheonweb says they are Windows only.
    Why are you downloading .exe files, are you downloading Applications that you want to use on the Mac? If you are and you are a new Mac user, I suggest you check out Apples App store, all those should work with your Mac. Occasionally you need to run a Windows only application but that is a different problem and solution.
