Extraction hierarchies and fields from the logical layer

Hello all !
I build a repository and I would like to ask if it is possible to take an extraction of the names of the hierarchies and fields of the business layer that are mapped to the tables and fields of the physical layer. Because now my model is quite big and I want to create a file that I can follow my logical layer that is mapped to the physical layer.

I am looking for a way to extract operators and operands from a source code to do a complexity analysis of the code. The final outcome I am expecting is to get the number of operators and operands in the code, to perform a Halstead Complexity Analysis.
Please let me know how this parsing can be done apart from just doing a sequential search of the content in the file.

Common way to analyze code is to defining the things you are interested in using some approproate language and then using a parser generator (or compiler compiler = cc). I used antlr some time ago for this reason. Perhaps you want to take a look at it:

I am new to SAP BW. Can any one help me to know, How to Extract data and reports from SAP BW. Do we use any tools. After Extracting the data from SAP BW how can we move all the data to Cognos. It would be kind enough to provide me with any documentation or links. Step by step procedure would be very much helpfull to me.

Extract image and Features from the Catalog via JAVA API

I would like to Extract image from the Catalog via JAVA API, Can anybody help on that? I also tried to extract the Features field form the Catalog but results in the error "Features field not found" Any ideas what could have wrong?

Can anybody tell me where i can find the latest JAVAAPI reference guide? I found the one for MDM 5.5 SP 1 but that also refers to the last parameter of the CatalogCache.Init as int and not string.
I looked up in service.sap.com/instguides -> SAP Netweaver -> Release 4 -> Installation and there only following 3 files are there for MDM 5.5 SP2

Steps for extraction of Custom Fields from the SRM 5.0 to the SAP BI system

Hi Experts,
I am new to the SAP BI. I was asked to publish all the custom fields from table (BBP_PDISC) of the SRM system to the BI System.
Please provide some guidiance (or) provide me with step-by-step procedure for doing the same.
There are around 14 fields in this table and i need to move them to the BI system and later inlcude them in reports.
Let me know if this information is sufficient.

Can I extract Conditions and Calculations from the Discoverer V5 EUL?

I have been using The Discoverer V5 EUL Business Area to extract information on workbooks such as the owners, report names, descriptions etc. I am trying find out if the conditions and calculations within reports are stored separately within the EUL5 tables? So far I have only been able to extract the entire SQL.
Does anyone know if the conditions and calculations are stored within the EUL5_DOCUMENTS.DOC_DOCUMENT field or elsewhere? I am looking for a quick way to access them which avoids having to look at each report manually.

You are out of luck. Conditions and calculation associated with a workbook are embedded within the workbook itself and are not accessible outside of it. Workbooks themselves are stored as binary objects within the database and are not decodable.

I don't think there's a solution for you.
However, consider this a learning experience: Use the free (and automatic) backup methods that Apple provides, such as iCloud & Photo Stream. Problem in populating the new field from the extract structure. Kindly help

my requirement a new text field is added on R/3 side and I have to populate
the same field into BW.
In the R/3 a new customization table 'AAA' is created which will have
code - char 3 and
text - char 30.
The code field is added to a table BBB.
The SAP standard generic data source exracts data from the table BBB where in the new code field have been added.
Now I can the see the code field in the extract structure and not in the data source as the filed has selection value 'A' when checked in the ROOSFIELD table.
To populate the value in BW, I will be creating a Generic Master Data text wherein I fetch the values from the table 'AAA' which the fields code and text and replicate the same in BW.
In the reporting level, the code InfoObject will be selected as display both KEY and TeXT, by doing I can populate the values of TEXT in the reporting.
But to achieve the same I need to add the field code in the ODS but cannot do the same because I am not able to see the field code in the data source.
Kindly let me know how to achieve the same.
Also let me know if there is any alternate solution to populate the text field in BW.

i have created tables (non BO Tables) directly on the SQL-server and want to use recordset to populate a user form matrix.
Is there any workaround to achieve this using non BO tables?

I have no idea about any tool which only extract the DDL of constraints.
In oracle 9i or above you can use DBMS_METADATA to extract DDL of a table which also shows contraints defination.
You can take the tables export without data and use databee tool to extract the DDL.

Getting Error while deleting a field from the 'Z' Structure

I have created a 'z' structure in which i have 5 fields, now i want to delete one field from the structure, but it is giving me error like Invalid Change.
Its a structure so i cant activate and adjust as we do for Tables.(se14)

I have not used this field in any FM/ Report.
I have tried log off and then log on. but it make no difference.
Now the Other scenario is that i want to change the datatype of this field to TEXT25.
But it is also not allowing me to change because currently datatype is TEXT20.
So now how can i change the length from 20 to 25.

In a real-world application, no.
In a RW application, a typical need is merely to know the "logical role" of the button (i.e., the button that validates the form, regardless of whether its text is "OK" or "Save", "Go",...). Text tends to vary much more than the structure of the UI over time.
In this case you can get the source's name (+getName()+), which will be the name that you've set to the button at UI construction time. Or you can compare the source for equality with either button ( +if evt.getSource()==okButton) {...}+ ).
All in all, I think the best solution is: don't use the same ActionListener for more than one action (+i.e.+ don't add the same ActionListener to all your buttons, which leads to a big if-then-else series in your actionPerformed() ).
Eventually, if you're listening to a single button's actions, whose text change over time (e.g. "pause"/"resume" in a VCR bar), I still think it's a bad idea to rely on the text of the button - instead, this text corresponds to a logical state (resp. playing/paused), it is more maintainable to base your logic on the state - which is more resilient to the evolutions of the UI (e.g. if you happen to use 2 toggle buttons instead of one single play/pause button).

How to hide the field from the view in the webdynpro application?

Hi Gurus,
I got a requirement where in which ,default layout has the field name Time.......To......... which is (2 input box ) and one lable assigned to the container.........
Now my requirement is to hide this field from the layout for all cases of leave......(all types of leave)....
I got a few inputs from forum that we can achieve this by implementing the following steps..........
Create In context => Value attribute => Say Visibility
Go to its properties
Select com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Visibility
In View Layout
Select UI Element Set Visible property to this context variable Visibility.
In wdDoModifyView() You can set this property to false
wdContext.currentContextElement().setVisibility(false);
Can you people tell me where to create the value attribute........
In the view context or in the component context...........
and field that am talking about is assign to the container you want me to assign this context variable property to all ......Like to input box ,label and the container..........

As per your guidelines I have created the value attribute in View context (which has the field..... which needs to be hide)inside the value node say FieldVisibility.......and attribute name OldTimeDuration......and I set this value with uidefeneitions Visibility .......
and I bind this vaule with the field property visible(Time.......To..........)which I need to hide...........
Now in the view implementation tab ..........I have coded in the doinit method(since my requirement to hide the field from the layout in all cases).........
wdContext.currentFieldVisibilityElement().setOldTimeDuration(WDVisibility.NONE);
But if I deploy the application and see still am getting the same field dispalying in the screen.........
I even tried putting this code in wdmodifyview method.........same results........
Kindly tell me how to hide the field permenantly from the screen............(without any conditions.)
