Extractor: Check on Accuracy and Completeness

Our customer asks if we can implement a check on accuracy and completeness of the extractors (from R/3 to BW). Isn't there already a build-in check (CRC or CHECKSUM) that does this automatically.
So in general: How is it determined that data from R/3 arrives 100% accurate and complete in BW?

There you can find the incompletion procedre for the sales document header as well as item.
Path: IMG-->SALES & DISTRIBTION->BASIC FUNCTIONS---> INCOMPLETION PROCEDURE--->
There you can find all the settings of the Incompletion procedure.
If you want to check the incompletion procedre in the document, then goto EDIT---INCOMPLETION LOG

Changing "Check Shopping Cart" screen and Completion workflow

Hi,
Below i describe a) the current process, b) the required changes, and c) my questions.
Though it is also about workflows i still thought this was the best place to post the thread.
Current process:
In the process "free text order" i choose Go Shopping >> Shop >> Describe Requirement. I fill in details and complete the next steps.
Now the Completion workflow (WS14000044) has started.
So if I now look on my homepage in SRM i have an approval item which reads:
   Approval
   You can approve or reject shopping carts and read your e-mails relating to the procurement transaction
   You have
   - 1 Workflow Entries in Inbox
   - 0 Unread Documents in Inbox
So i open the list and find one item: Complete shopping cart of mr X.. Now i click on the item and it takes me to "Check Shopping Cart"
At the bottom of the screen is one button: "Change"
Requirements:
1) add two buttons to this screen. One button is "Reject", to reject the shoppping cart directly. The second button "Mail Requester" to send the shopping cart back to the requester and also sends a mail via outlook to inform the requester that this has happened and requesting more information.
2) these buttons should then influence the behaviour of the Completion Workflow. In this workflow (WS14000044) the task Completion (TS14007947) currently has one activated outcome. From my two buttons i would need two more outcomes that allow me to model the other actions that i need i.e. the rejection outcome and the back-to-requester/send-mail outcome.
Questions:
1) is it allowed/possible to add the buttons to the existing screens. Or do i need to create a custom screen and call that instead of the standard screen?
2) is it allowed/possible to modify the completion workflow as described? Or do i need to copy and then modify?
3) How could i make the buttons to interact with the workflow? The only thing i can think of is to create a Z-bus object of the object Form and to modify so that it show my expected outcomes.
4) any helpful links to sdn posts of blogs or otherwise on how to go about to create the necessary changes.

Hi Robert,
Again, before technical solutioning, we need to step back and understand the business process and functions of each role (e.g., Buyer, Financial Approver) in the completion and approval workflow.
Here's my understanding of the as-is (correct me if I am wrong). You are using One-Step Spending Limit WF (10000276) for financial approval. This is done by a Financial Approver (I am guessing, the line manager). The Buyer is not part of the process. Now, you want to introduce free-text requisitioning, and, consequently, you want to introduce the Buyer role into the workflow process - to complete the free-text lines (e.g. with vendor, price).
Based on above scenario, I believe your initial solution was not incorrect - introduce Completion WF (14000044) for the completion task, while keeping 10000276 for financial approval.
Now the business wants the Buyer to play a more active role in the process. They want to be able to Reject (the whole cart?) and Inquire (send the cart back to requester with questions). In my mind, it may still be possible to explore keeping the original design with Completion WF without modifying it, and still achieve the business needs. You can explore different ways of doing that: delete SC items instead of Rejecting, add Approval Comments to inquire, etc.
Alternatively, you can replace all your workflows with one - WS14000133 "Spending limit, n-step,
dynamic approvers (BAdI)". Here, you can determine your approvers flexibly via a BAdI implementation. For example:
1. If Total Amount =< Spending Limit of Purchaser, then no approval agents - auto-approve SC.
2. If Total Amount > Spending Limit of Purchaser AND there're no free-text lines, then determine Financial Approver.
3. If Total Amount > Spending Limit of Purchaser AND there're incomplete free-text lines, then determine Buyer; once free-text lines completed - then Financial Approver.
WS14000133 also has back-and-forth functionality which you can use for the inquiries. WS14000133 provides the most flexibilty, but it also involves more effort to implement. Read up on WS14000133 at help.sap.com.
Bottom line - I would focus on evaluating these two standard options: 14000044 with 10000276, or 14000133. You may need to do some pros/cons, cost/benefit analysis. But I see no need to modify or copy SAP templates in your case.

Well, i was on my laptop now and all of a sudden a pop up message appeared and said "your download is complete" so i went to go check it out and it was 'MacProtector'. i cant delete it and it keeps opening unwanted web pages, please help me sort this out?

The extractor checker comes packaged in Service API (SAPI), which enables you to create generic DataSources via transaction RSO2. The extractor checker has been available since very early SAP releases (both SAP_APPL including the 3.X track and BW including the 2.X track). It can be considered release-independent. It does not require the source system to be connected to the target BW system. For more information about SAPI, go to SAP Service Marketplace. You search SAP notes using the keyword u201CSAPI.u201D
By running the extractor checker in the debug mode, you can learn a lot about the underlying application. I have been in situations where I had to work with application-specific standard extractors in areas that Iu2019m only vaguely familiar with. Running the extractor checker in the debug mode has helped me identify the base tables without a lot of effort.
I have seen generic extractors delivering no data because of faulty logic/coding. The reaction on the BW side is usually one of bewilderment and disbelief. You can avoid this by running the extractor check before executing your InfoPackages from BW. Iu2019ll show you how to use this tool in a more effective way and explain why you might want to use it more frequently.
For extraction of data we create datasource in the source system.............after that we replicate it in the BW side...............
Now our datasource can extract data from any:
Table or view
Query
Function mudule.................................
Now to check whether thae datasource is working fine or not.........We have to go to RSA3 in the source system...........There we will give the Datasource name.................then we will execute.........then it will displsy the data it contains...............we can also check for a specific value......

Blanks and Zeros in Extractor Checker S-API

Hi All,
I am currently having a problem with the Extractor Checker S-API.
I have deleted and filled up the extractor 2LIS_13_VDITM (Billing) in our source system. After doing that, it seems that when I use Extractor Checker S-API to view the data, it returns me number of records but when I tried to open to the details to view the records, it returns me rows with zero value and blanks.
I tried to look up the transaction code for billing, VF03 (Displaying Billing Document), it seems there are data.
This issue does not occur a few weeks ago. The changes that occur in our source system is only on the security. It seems that there are some changes on the security of our user logon. Will this actually affect what data that we can extract?
PS: Even so, when I tried to load it into BW, it shows number of records but it is not updated to the Data Store as there are blanks and zeros in the extractor.

I can't update my ipad2 to ios5. After 2 hours and what looks like download complete and the start of processing, it stops with message check network settings and connections. Any ideas?

Extractor Checker shows 0 Records

Hi,
I am working on Transport Management system of supply chain management. In RSA3 of the TMS system I checked for datasource 0TMS_SOR and 0TMS_SRQ. It showed 0 records inspite data being there. Since SCM is based on Business Objects Process Framework I am not able to check for data at table level and I don't know how to go about checking for the existence of data. The TMS developers say there is data in the TMS system but before integration with the BI system I just wanted to check in the Extractor checker with respect to the datasources. It shows 0 records. What could be problem ? How to go about this ?

Fanie, we are working on the same issue.
For SRQ, there are special 'scheduling' conditions that are used in the PPF framework, stating that only SRQ's with a lifecycle status of 'Complete' should be extracted. This logic is embedded in the PPF scheduling conditions with FM "/SCMTMS/CL_IM_SCHD_EXTR_SRQ"
Bottom line - Talk to the developers and ask if there are any SRQs that are 'Complete'. If not, that is why you are not getting any data from your extractor.

Validating accuracy and quality of migrated data

Does anyone have recommendations or suggestions with respect to validating the quality of the data migrated from one database to your Oracle database? Basically I'm looking for suggested steps (queries) to run to verify the accuracy of the data migrated and include those checks in an automated process.
At an entry level I can compare rowcounts between tables and verify they match but I was thinking more along the lines of creating an offset to be more sure about it. For example I can add the sequence number primary key column with another number column(s) and sum that to create an offset that I can compare against the same table in the old database.
I was just wondering if there were any schools of thought or existing routines that anyone had to do some of these types of post-migration quality checks (in a timely fashion). If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it?

This is one of those "how long is a piece of string" questions. For some people row counts will be sufficient, yet for others they will require that every column in every row can be validated against the original dataset.
The Oracle Migration Workbench does not perform any validation of the data load process. We have had customers request this function and will probably look into this in more detail in the coming year.
The approach you are talking about, by creating a scheme to validate the data in a table using the sum of a column or series of columns, seems like a sensible compromise between simple row counts and complete validation.

Data mis match in extractor checker

Please help me to solve this issue.
there is a mismatch of records when checking datasource through extractor checker. the extractor is showing 1476 records in r/3 table but i check the table in t-code se11 it is having only 506 records. so can any one help me what are the possible reasons and how to analysis and solve this issue.

If generic datasource based on function module : check how the function module is designed to extract data.
If generic datasource based on table : Check the table in se12 data with same restrictions which you may use in RSA3.
If generic datasource based on view :
Check the view in se12 data with same restrictions which you may use in RSA3.

R/3 Extractor Checker doubt

I created a Custom Master and text datasource and when i do the RSA3 Extractor checker :
if i change the "Data Records / Calls" and try the extractor, the number of records extracted changes :
Like if i entered :
Data records / calls = 1000 - i get "570 records"
Data Records / Calls = 10000-i get 57 records.
My question is that : why is the number of records extracted not Consistent ??????
Similarly if i change the "Display Extr. Calls"
to 1 or 10 , the number of records changes.
Any suggestion please.

Hi Shalini,
The idea in of these 2 fields in RSA3 is like this:
Data Records / Calls = 1000
Display Extr. Calls = 1
This means display one call and each call can include maximum of 1000 records. If you change the second parameter to 10, it means, display 10 calls (packages) with max of 1000 records per package.
Unfortunately, this figure is not always correct. I do not know the scenarios but like you mentioned, it is not always correct.

1. Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
2. Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.

I get the above error when I try to activate iMessage or face time on my iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.2.

I too faced the same problem . I was using imessage in ios6 and when i upgraded , There were issues like ,
check network connections and Try again . , Connect to itunes for Push notifications . It was irritating and annoying for everyone i guess
Steps to Resolve the i meeage issue
1) Connect your phone to P.C and Back up your datas to P.C via I tunes
2) Once the back up is complete . Connect your phonbe to Wifi or 3G cellular network and Boldly go to Settings-->General --> Reset--> Erase all datas
( Do not worry if you had backed up your datas )
3) Iphone will reboot . it will take some time
4) Then your iphone will start . Click next and you will be prompted for i message activation . Give your apple id and Sign in
5)Keep your phone connected . In P.C you will be prompted if you want to restore ( EOther wise go to I tunes --> File --> Device--> Restore back up
It really worked for me .
