F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST up to 500 hits

hi,
i am using the FM F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST for displaying search help for a field.
the possible values for this field are stored in an internal table which is filled by another FM which i
cannot change. this FM returns itabs with 20,000 lines. when i try to use the search help from screen
the program crash ( MEMORY_NO_MORE_PAGING ).
i want to limit the search help to up 500 hits , so the program won't crash, but i dont want to filter
the itab by taking only 500 becasue the user can enter in field ' 2* ' and then press F4
and if there are more then 500 values that start with 1 i won't get any values in search help
(because i took only the first 500 - which all starts with 1).
is there a way to achieve what i want?

You can make use of CALLBACK_FORM parameter which is available in the F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST function module to restrict the number of entries.
FORM F4CALLBACK
     TABLES   RECORD_TAB STRUCTURE SEAHLPRES
     CHANGING SHLP TYPE SHLP_DESCR
              CALLCONTROL LIKE DDSHF4CTRL.
ENDFORM.
Make use of DDSHF4CTRL structure which gives you more options.

I am using F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST. Can someone please help me. I am getting 2,100 hits I need to limit it to 500 hits. There is no Maximum number of hits when you click the Downward pointing arrow above the toolbar. How can I add the field for maximum number of hits just like in the standard F4 help function.

Dispay the source code of this function module in Se37.. you will notice that the following is commented out..
CALLCONTROL-MAXRECORDS = 500.
deleteing lines in your program is probably the only option..
ie
data w_lines type i.
w_lines = lines( itab ).
delete itab from 201 to w_lines.

Has anyone solved the notorious "Cannot Connect to Youtube" Error?

Whenever I open the Youtube app I get "Cannot connect to Youtube" no matter what why network I'm on no matter how I'm connected. EVERYTHING else on the phone works perfectly.
Even the youtube website works fine via safari but the videos WILL NOT PLAY.
I have tried all the hit or miss speculative solutions that people claim work for them:
*Change the date past the year 2030 and then back again.
*Hard reset the phone
*Power on power off
*Reset network settings
*Full reset of settings
*Trying different networks
*Connecting to the computer and synching the phone and the apps
None of these work. Some people claim success with one or more of the different methods above but it doesn't work for me and many others. This issue has been going on for a LONG time and it is WIDESPREAD (just search this forum or the internet at large via google and you will see). It spans across multiple devices (iPhone and iPod Touch alike) and multiple software versions across multiple generations of the devices. I find it appalling that Apple is silent on this gaping bug.
Does anyone have a solution? Does anyone know how to get Apple to DO SOMETHING?

It IS a problem with my iPhone. Anything that causes one of the built in operating applications to fail frequently under normal use whether or not it happens on every device consistently is absolutely by definition a bug.

It may not be on every phone but it definitely is on MANY, what triggers it is unknown. Microsoft releases hundreds if not thousands of bug fixes every year. Why don't all the HUNDREDS of millions of Windows users all experience every single bug? By your logic none of these bugs exists because every single user doesn't experience them. I can't remember the last time I personally experienced one of the bugs that all these mountains of bug fixes I download through windows update automatically correct so I guess none of those bugs actually exist.

There are thousands of people with this problem. With a problem like this a person with even shred of intellect would read a few posts from a few different sources and come to an informed conclusion on the issue rather than dedicate the next six months of their life to reading every single thing ever written about it. Once you see the pattern is exactly the same even in 10 plus posts and it's obvious there are THOUSANDS more you can conclude it's not an isolated incident.

Really? I had no idea google one of the most successful companies in the world had such a faulty and defective search engine that it gives phony results. Have you told them? Maybe they will hire you to fix it.
You may get SOME hits for any garbage you put in (not really ANY but a lot of garbage) but they won't be very many.

Yep I see it, it's settled now. It definitely must be something I just made up. Looks like nobody else is having that problem. Must not mean a thing that there are more than 100 times more articles on this built in app than a couple others I picked at random. I'm glad you settled this for me how google is broken and only my iphone is misconfigured and the "cannot connect to youtube" error is not widespread.

Help with Acrobat 7 Pro (making savable Reader PDFs and making columns do math)

Do forgive me as I normally don't make interactive PDFs, but I need to know a couple of things.
I'm using Acrobat Professional 7 at home, but have access to Pro 8. In 7, show do you make the PDF save info along with the PDF in Adobe Reader? I've seen how to do it in Pro 8, which allows 500 hits to the file, which is plenty fine for the use for the forms I'm making. But in Pro 7, I cannot not find this feature to let Reader save filled in form fields.
Now the attachment to my post is the second (but not as important) issue.
I need to try and make the fields on this form do adding, subtracting, and multiplication. How do I do that? I have no java programming experipence. Here is how I want the columns to work:
Texts 29, 34, 39, and 44 should add up in Text 46. Texts 30, 35, 40, and 45 should add up in Text 47.
Text 48 should subtract from Text 46 and Text 49 should subtract from Text 47 if used. The results should then show in Texts 52 and 53 respectively.
Now here's the tricky bit. Texts 50 and 51 are optional. If the senior discount is applied, then Texts 52 & 53 should have a 5% discount applied to the totals.
Is this doable by a non-programmer? Any help is greatly appreciated.

So the Feature can not be invoked by Acrobat 7 but is availble if turned on in Reader 7.
The OP said he had 7 at home but access to 8. So depending on whether Micahel was addressing Acrobat or Reader his answer can go either direction. The ability to do is in 8 and 9 Acrobat. And 7, 8, 9 Reader is able to use it.
As I phrased my comment after Michaels I defered to his expertise. And was adding the additional comments that Reader 7, 8, 9 can use it . But only 8, 9 Acrobat can invoke it.
So we are all correct to a degree.

I Phone 4 S has no sound with IOS 8

I have an 32 Gig I Phone 4 S that has no sound sine I upgraded to IOS 8. No resolution after 4 subsequent IOS 8 updates. Thought I could down grade to IO 7. I am told that is not possible [why not?]
I have done:
[1] full factory restore and latest download of IO 8... I have done this 3 times
[2] I have done full factory restore and set it up as new phone and before I imported a single app or even a contact, had same sound issue.
Apple, you said IO 8 would work on my phone. It does not [diagnostics say my phone is fine]
IOS 8 does not work on my iphone 4 S. I have had no sound and thus no turn by turn directions, no music, no you tube, no online streaming of any sound since September 17th.
I am the usual story of the resurgence of Apple, I bought an I Pod, then an I phone, then a Mac Mini, Macbook pro and even an Apple TV.
If I google "problems with IOS8" I get 99,500 hits. There are 82 pages alone of comments about wifi issues with IOS 8.
Apple, you broke my phone with your software update, please fix it or replace it. It is not OK to treat a good customer like this. If you something that isn't yours, it is common courtesy to fix,replace or pay for it. This is something we teach children.

Well, Apple does not participate in the forum, so they will not hear all of the things that you have asked them to do. If you restored the device as new and tested it with no content added and it was still not working correctly, then you need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the nearest Apple store to have the hardware checked. Then when there you can tell the Genius everything you wanted to tell Apple here, about the number of Google hits you received, the fact they broke your phone and want it fixed or replaced. and that you feel they should not be treating you like they are. How To use MacBook Pro as airport base station?

I am trying to set up my MacBook Pro as an airport base station to share my Internet connection. I am running OSX 10.7.2. I have checked Internet Sharing, and checked "Share your connection using "Internet" to computers using: ______________." There are five options, but "Airport" is not one of them. Has this panel changed in Lion? So how do I share the connection?

And after you follow the directions in the link provided by JimHdk, you can get yourself a wireless router. Using a wireless router will eliminate the need to have your Macbook pro present and powered up every time you want to connect your iPad to the Internet via wifi. Just because your Macbook Pro can act as a router does not mean it should or that you have to use it as such. A router is specifically designed to do what you want to do.

Migrating my existing customization to new Version

Ok since this is a pretty broad question and also since I had people laughing at me on the Bind (DNS) mailing list with a separate but related question I will provide some figures if it helps:
basically I am getting about 500 hits/month from web server and quite a few queries on DNS primary and secondary/day although not quite sure how to measure that.
The main server which currently I'm using a 1GB memory 3.4GHz PIV machine is doing ok but since I plan to VPN multiple sites in I will most likely need something with more memory although unsure of to go for single or dual socket system.
I reckon for Scalix and Zimbra a quad core single socket will be ok with round 2-4GB of memory. But I'm still not sure if I would need to go for dual socket systems in my setup unless I virtualize??

F110 hitlist on ECC6.0 for rundate

my customer recently switched to ECC6.0. When you now start transaction F110 (payment prog) and execute the possible entries on the run date, the system shows a list of all payment id. Since we have more then 5000 SAp provides a pop-up message that only the first 5000 hits are shown. The process of seeing this list takes quite some time for 5000 entries and thus the performace is the issue. Now I think we can delete old logs so that the list is smaller when doing a possible entries (where?), but is there a way to config that only 500 hits or 100 hits are shown instead of the full list when doing the possible entries on thr run date field.

Can anybody help on a related Problem with regard to F110;
When we generate the list of Payment runs, it does not give which Company Code has generated that run; We have about 110 Company Codes; It would be ideal if we can have Company Code & user name and also the facility to filter based on Company Codes;
Can this be achieved in F110 itself or is there any other place where we can get this info;

You can check ME5A, then take the drop down of Purchase requistion, here you can use Purchase requistion with purchasing group, remove 500 hits and enter, and you will see all Purchase requisition Nos in your system.

Stock of Material with Variants (Multiple Characteristics)

As per the customer requirement we have configured the material with a combination of Material Group Hierarchy & material characteristics.
e.g. Frame with the characteristics like Color, Size, Gender etc. (these can be different with each new frame).
I have also configured the batch management for these type of materials. Now, if I want to see the stock of all the materials with there variants where and how can I see that (apart from going in MMBE and right click on batch number ). Customer want to see the whole stock in a single go.
One more thing I would like to know, which all tables are involved in variant configuration, is there any table where system saves the variant details. So we could see all the variants present in the system.

We have such a report, but you cannot expect to see all and everything in one list.
I am right now in a merger project having 2 million materials with 16000 different classes and more than 6000 characteristics. Now imagine you develop a report like MB52 and add columns for the characteristics.
If you are having only 1 class with 5 characteristics for all all your materials then there will not be a major problem, but what shall be displayed in which column if you have many classes with less overlapping characteristics.
You see there cannot be anything like that "ready-to-use" made by SAP, as it would rarely fit to any companies need.

Creating A hierarchy on a characteristic.

How can I get the full list of input help.

I got the below exception when we are actually performing the load tests where in 4000 hits are made on the code in 1 min.
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cipher not initialized
at javax.crypto.Cipher.c(Unknown Source)
at javax.crypto.Cipher.doFinal(Unknown Source)
My doubt here is : Is it occuring becuase of synchronizing issue? As shown in the code above i had synchronized the doFinal call. Still the exceptions are occuring. These are randomly coming say 1 out of 500 hits.
Please suggest me a solution on how to fix this. We are using PBEWithMD5AndDES encryption mechanism in this case.
Solution for this would help me a lot in terms of fixing it...

Cipher is not thread safe so that is almost certainly your problem. Your synchronisation does not include the init() method so it is possible that the instance is being initialised in one thread and used for decryption in a different thread.
My approach is to create a pool of Cipher instances and then get an instance from the pool, use it and then put it back in the pool.
P.S. DES is now considered deprecated in favour of AES. PBE is a poor man's approach since the chances are the password has far less entropy than the key size so will be much weaker than that implied by the algorithm being used. PBE is normally used for securing a user's data so in a Web based application it normally does not make sense to use PBE.

ERROR BARS ON CHARTS

Does anybody know of a simple method to add error bars to the charts in Numbers or KeyNote. without error bars, graphs really do not tell us anything. The only way that I can see to add error bars is to draw them on manually, which is rather tedious. I know that this is not a full blown graphing package, but error bars seem to be an easy thing to implement. Is there some hidden feature that I cannot find.. please tell me so. If not, Apple team, please add this in the next release! This is such a useful feature.

Enhancement /Demand in MD15

My client is telling that previously in MD15 he can able to select 2000 nos collective conversion of planned order to Purchase requestion and now he is telling in configuration it is only 500nos @ a time he can select.
I do check in OMDV transaction it is only 500,now my qn is as per my understanding SAP standard is only 500 hits now whether i can change it to 2000 nos as per his requirement also i want to know if i do configuration as per him i want to know in future we will be having any performance issue or not.
Please reply on this issue on top priority.

As per my knowledge, This is as per SAP Std i.e. in OMDV you can select value of planned orders upto 3 figures that's why it is 500 in your case because system will not allow more than 3 figures. So you can't set it as 2000, 1000 etc. What you can do is you can change it to 999 instead of 500 so you can allow user maximum conversion possible in the system.
Further if it is necessary for you the value of 2000 to set then search exit in SMOD. In SMOD select search help with F4 then select SAP component as PP and then further drilldown under PP -
> PP- MRP and look for suitable exit.
