Facility to copy/duplicate company in Choose company form

Hi Development team mebers,
As of now if somebody wants to create duplicate company then he/she has to use SQL server to take back of existing company database and restore it.
I belive during the initial phase of impelmentation and even after going live to carry out many activities SAP suggets to take trial in Test environment.
So to make the process simple/user friendly, I believe there should be facility to create duplicate company in choose copany form/screen itself.
Destination company name and destination database name can be entered by the user.

Let us assume someone wish to execture year end / Period End process and prior to execute it in Production/Live data he/she wish to execute it in test environment.
(Here test environment meaning the user is testing particular process/function on actual/live data to see result / verify SAP B1 behaviour).
The facility which I have asked is general and applicable to every implementation.This can be everyday scenario somewhere in the world where the product is under use.
I believe many a time people would have avoided taking trials in test environment because of present many steps involved in creating test environment.
As the product is targeted to SME segment, one should not expect availability of SQL expert/SAP B1 expert all the time on site.
I believe if the above asked facility is incorporated then it can save lots of SAP B1 / SQL expert's time consumed on creating test environment worldwide (which is actually non productive/non creative for their level) and there are lots of hidden benefits toward increasing product accepability.
I hope you understand the benefit of incorporating this feature, If not please give a fresh thaught from being an implementation consultant / SAP B1 power user involved in following steps.
1.Testing the effect of new setting in live data (What if scenario)
2.To reproduce some behaviour
Above two are the crucial points which generates lots of dis liking of product if not solved fast. In such incidents nobody is going to monitor that most of the time was spend in creating test environment.
If you give deep thaught you will realise that this can even save lots of support time whether it is by SAP or the partner and reduce the total time taken in closing support calls, and improves user experience with product and support process.

Copy Indonesian Company Code

Dear All,
We would like to copy an Indonesian company code from SAP Company Code 0001.
However, we realise that Country Version for Indonesia is not avaiable.
Thus we could not localise the SAP Company Code 0001 as an Indonesian company code.
We have 2 approaches to the above issue: -
1) We have noted that Country Template is available for Indonesia.
Thus is it feasible to copy the company code of Indonesian from the Country Template settings instead?
2) If we are handling all the taxation and withholding issues outside SAP, can we copy any Local SAP Company Code 0001 to a new company code for our Indonesian company?
We would like to seek for your expertise and advices especially for those whom have experience in implementing SAP for Indonesian companies, or having encountered similar issues when setting up company codes in SAP.
We would really appreciate your advise in this area.

Do anyone know what is the best way to copy a Company from one system to another.
The company and all relevant data, company codes, customers ...
Is LSMW the best solution can this be done by ALE distribution?

Valuation area during copying of company code

Hi,
I am copying a company code from 0888, to a new company code:0999. But finished, i check, there is not a valuation area:0999 created?
How i create the valuation area? Our valuation level is at company code.

your valuatino area is your plant. once you create a plant your valuation area by defualt you shall have a valuation area created.

is there a easy method available to copy one company code (existing one) into several target company codes (new ones). The SAP standard functionality does not support this task.

Hi,
Copy company codes can be done in two ways.
1. To copy basic data i.e, through transaction ox02
2. To copy company code relevant parameters (global) & GL accounts through EC01.
If your option is point 1. then the best thing i suggest is go for transaction scat and create a test case and record the transaction ox02.Then afte that download the variant and fill the necessary fields accordingly and try to upload.

Copy a company for test purposes

I'd like to copy a company, data and its settings 100% to another company for testing purposes. What is the easiest way to do this? And is there a procedure, document or expert session on this topic somewhere?

its very easy:
1. backup your database via SQL Studio
2. restore the same database via SQL with another name
Login in B1 client, refresh your displayed db. Login your copy.

Copy / Duplicate a CD works for the MacOS but not for Windows

Hi all,
i burnt some jpg's on a CD with my Mac (drag & drop within
the Finder). This went fine: i can read the CD on my Mac
and on my Windows-PC.
As i need y couple of copies from this CD, i thougth that
the "drag & drop" thing within the Finder is to much effort
and i created an image of the CD with the DiskUtility.
After that i burnt the image on new, empty CDs. All of them
worked fine on my Mac, but non of them were readable on
any Windows-PC.
So i started a workaround with the "burning-folder". That
works, but it is a little bit uncomfartable in comparison
to working with images.
Sadly i found no way to create an burn an image which works
on Windows-PCs.
Is there no way to copy / duplicate CD, that are readable
on Windows-PCs?

Hm, i testet something and i do not know, why two different things come out:
1) i began to create an image from the CD, which i created at first, which works
on my Mac and on my Windows-System.
So i could choose the following formats: read-only, compressed, read/write, DVD-/CD-Master.
2) if i create an image from an existing folder from my harddisk, i have the same options
PLUS "hybrid-image". If i choose this format and burn it, the CD works on my Windows-System, too.
So the question is, why the hybrid-image only available for images which are created
from hardisk-folders and not from an CD?!

If I copy/duplicate a page my css-layout changes

If I copy/duplicate a page my css-layout changes, even though the pages are identical and use the same (external) css-file.
This is what happens:
I have a 2-column fixed css container. The sidebar and mainContent align perfectly on the original page, but on the duplicate page the mainContent suddenly moves to the right (it somehow adds the width of the sidebar to the margin of the mainContent).
Does anyone know what to do about this?

Hang on. I just checked, and it only happens in the design-view inside dreamweaver. When I preview the pages in my browsers (Safari and Opera, still need to check in IE) the problem doesn't occur. So it isn't as big of a problem as I thought it was. Still very annoying though, so if anyone knows how I can fix the problem in the design/split-view, thanks...

Excel 2013 PowerView: how to move/copy/duplicate PowerView worksheets?

I cannot find a way to move/copy/duplicate PowerView worksheets/reports inside the same workbook.
It happens I create a second PowerView report and then I decide to have it as the first one... couldn't find a way!

Hello Roberto,
It seems that the Move & Copy option is not available for power View sheet. I have no solution for this issue ,but you can try the following workaround:
1.Open a blank workbook, go to File->Options->Add-Ins->COM Add-ins->Go->Disable Power View and PowerPivot Add-in
2.Open your Workbook containing Power View reports, you can use the 'Move or Copy' option to resort Power View reports, then enable these add-ins.
Hope this will be improved in the next version of Excel.

Choose File Form Data Create Spreasheet From Data Files

I am following the tutorial for LC 8 and when I get to the topic titled "Collecting the data in a spreadsheet" it says to "Choose File > Form Data > Create Spreadsheet From Data Files".
However, when I try to follow that path I do not see a "Form Data > Create Spreadsheet From Data Files" menu option.
What am I not doing properly? How do I accomplish this task?

Thank you so much Paul. I have been trying all day to locate the method by which I could create a spreadsheet using the pdf submit route. I suppose the tutorial in CS4 should have been changed to reflect the changed explanations, but I guess that would be difficult to do. Anyway it worked and I can now do the analysis I need from my customers (lots of pupils!).

I have created a fillable form. Part of the information from that form needs to be copied and sent to another department at work. Once i complete the fillable form (e.g. select options from a drop down, enter test in test boxes that are on the form) when i copy that section, i only get the non-fillable information pasted into word or notepad, the drop down selections and fillable text do not copy.

Thanks for that clarification. Being a PC-only guy, I could not recall when the break came for the Mac CPU's, and OS's.
As the first released version of Ps was ported only for the Mac (was that release 1.0, or 1.0.1?), and then not released for the PC, until version 2.5, I knew a little bit of the history, but you just filled in a big blank for me. That's the sort of stuff that I missed, back when the Ps Forum was split by platform - I never read the Mac side.

Choose File Form Data Create Spreadsheet - where is this dialogue?

This is the dialogue I need to use my pdf to generate the spreadsheet so i can add returned forms. However, nowhere can I find;
Choose File>Form Data>Create Spreadsheet from Data Files
This is found in the quick start tutorials in the section entitled "Collecting the data in a spreadsheet" - section number 2
How the heck do I either a) Find it
b) Set up my Adobe software to show it
or c) Create the right file that "encourages" this option to be seen when I open Acrobat (Pro 9).
I am mightily confused and, having looked around the internet, am not alone in this.
