Facing problem in connection with OWB client

Dear All
Greetings!!!
Im new to Datawarehouse building. I have installed OWB R1 at my own pc.I am facing problems in connecting OWB client..What exactly to put in Host name and Oracle Service name. i am logging in with the same system/password with normal login. Please guide me to enter in the datawarehouse world..

I know this doesn't really answer your question but Oracle have just made Release 2 of Warehouse Builder available and based on all of the info through this forum and other places, if I was you I would download R2 and install it instead of R1, as it is deemed to have way more functionality.

1. Is the connection url correct?
"jdbc:oracle:thin:@PLANET:1521:ORCL" is fine.
2. Is the TNS listener started?
c:\oracle\product\ora10\bin> lsnrctl status
3. Is a firewall between client and database server?
Connection url with firewall would be different.

I tried plug and unplug many time, still can't detect/charge my iPhone5, but sometime will 'lucky' that can connect to my iTunes and charge battery…
This message will auto pop up also when I don't have plug anything in my iPhone 5, It is very annoying…
The lighting cable is original and now i'm using OS 7.0.4 / iTunes is 11.1.3

I would try using another cable you can likely borrow one to test from somebody
if it's the same then likely the connector in your iphone have been damaged

Create connection multiple database server connection with sinle client

My problem is like this. I have 3 database servers like server A,server B,Server C. First Client will communicate with server A and Server B at the same time. Then if the connection is done then i need communicate with server C. Is there anybody who has the sample code for this. Please help me i am facing problems with this.

I want to build a web site using jsp servlet for my university course purpose. In the background i will have three servers one is database server like server A another is certificate authority server like server B and the other one is Bank server like server C. Next, user will input through login page(say for example user name & password for database server A, certificate credentials for server B) then the login page will check user credentials kept in server A and at the same time with server B(CA server). If the user credentials kept in both of these servers(A &B) are matched then the page will inform that this is the valid user and connect to the bank server for money transaction. MySQL connection with OWB 11gR2 results in "access denied for user"

I just try to establish a connection to a MySQL database with OWB 11gR2, but I always get the error "access denied for user...". I did the things written on [http://blogs.oracle.com/warehousebuilder/2010/01/owb_11gr2_mysql_open_connectivity.html] and I also used the platform configuration from this description. Newest JDBC driver was downloaded and I put the jar-file into the folder OWB_HOME/owb/lib/ext. The definition of the MySQL platform worked and the entry "MySQL" was created in OWB, but no connection can be established. I also tried other tools like MySQL Administrator in order to find out whether the problem is caused by network configuration or sth. like that, but with this tool the connection works.
OWB is installed on OpenSuse 11.1 64bit. Does anyone know why this error occurs? Perhaps I missed some configuration tasks, which I don't know so far?

thank you for your reply. The corresponding user has already got this host setting. Anyway he got the wildcard '%' and with other tools I can connect.
I solved the problem now due to just trying around with usernames. The error was quite funny: OWB changes the username always into upper case and MySQL cannot handle this username. The username must match 100% to be able to login.
Now I just changed the user in MySQL and wrote the username in upper case. But in fact I would like to know if it is possible to avoid that OWB changes the username, with quotes it didn't work ;-)

Now I'm facing another problem: the connection works, but I cannot import any metadata. When I click on "Browse" to select the correct schema in MySQL DB, no result is displayed. The user anyway has go the privileges to select data from this schema. I also tried to provide the user with every possible privileges for this schema, but I still cannot select any schema. When I write the schema manually and then try to import database objects iin OWB the error message "definitions of userdefined metadata interface are invalid" is displayed (translated from german, so the wording could be different). Does anybody have an idea what the problem could be?

I have problems to connect with Database Server in MDM SP5

I am upgrading to SP and get problems to connect to the database server. I am able to start and stop the MDM server, but if I tru to create a new repsoitory or unarchive a repository I get this errormessage. "Unable to connect with Datase Server". In ealier versions og MDM i did not give any username or password whwn I made a new repositirt. Do you need to that no?
I see in the mds.ini file that there is defined a user "Sql Server DBA Username=master ". I sthis the user we shall use or is there another user?

Applet security problems while connecting with database

i hav problem in the japplet connecting with sql database
it gives security access denied error while running program as my driver is jdbc:odbc:bridge driver
so for resolving this error how can i turn off security of applet and also which security permission to be change?

BO - Problem to connect through windows client

Server OS: Windows Server 2003 SP2
BOE Version: XI Release 2
Client SO: Windows XP Professional SP2
DB: Oracle 10 v 10.2
Problem:
I have a BOE XI Release 2 installed on a server and if I try to connect via WEB everything is perfect but when I try to connect using windows clients (Designer, DESKiu2026)
I am getting the following error:
" No se puede acceder al repositorio. (USR0013)"

If you are using LDAP, then try this...
Symptom
Error logging onto Desktop Intelligence or Designer using LDAP authentication:
"(USR0013) [repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed (The LDAP authentication could not log you on.) Verify your logon information. If your account is under a different domain as o=u2026, please enter your dn (hr=#0x80042a01)."
Reproducing the Issue
Configure LDAP authentication
Error appears from a client computer running Desktop Intelligence or Designer
Logon to Desktop Intelligence or Designer on the server works
Cause
LDAP authentication from the client connects directly to the LDAP directory without passing the CMS
The server has been configured on the firewall, but not the client computer
Resolution
Configure the firewall for the client machines to pass, so that they can reach the LDAP directory

I've a bit confusion, i dont know at which port my oracle database server listen through which connection can be made. apparently, I'm not sure about host name however, i used localhost just because a local copy of database server installed in my system.

Trusted connectivity with different Clients

I have the following problem: The Trusting System SRR (Server) has client 100 and 010 the
Trusted System CLL has client 010.
I tried to make a trusted connectivity with the SRR 100 Client, but Im only able to connect to the SRR 010 Client.
Where can declare to which Client of the Trusting System (Server) the Trusted System (client) Points?

I solved the problem.
if the Client is not the same you see in the trusted system in RFC menu trusting system an error. "authorization failed". (this was confusing)
You have to create in the Trusting system the authorization object S_RFCACL with the client information for the calling System. You verify the settings with the function module AUTHORITY_CHECK_TRUSTED_SYSTEM.
Once you created the trusted system in the Trusting system. You have to create a NEW RFC connection in the Trusted System for example <SID>_TRUST mark the trusted system and current user with the Client# information. Once saved, try to logon by the "Remote Logon" button. If this works, then you created successfully the trust relationship.
Thanks<u> <i>Wolfgang for the Note you mentioned</i>.</u> I checked that Note before.What I didn't know that the Message in RFC menu Trusting System authorization failed can be ignored since it tries to logon with the current logged on client.
