Trusted connectivity with different Clients

Hi all
I have the following problem: The Trusting System SRR (Server) has client 100 and 010 the
Trusted System CLL has client 010.
I tried to make a trusted connectivity with the SRR 100 Client, but Im only able to connect to the SRR 010 Client.
Where can declare to which Client of the Trusting System (Server) the Trusted System (client) Points?

I solved the problem.
if the Client is not the same you see in the trusted system in RFC menu trusting system an error. "authorization failed". (this was confusing)
You have to create in the Trusting system the authorization object S_RFCACL with the client information for the calling System. You verify the settings with the function module AUTHORITY_CHECK_TRUSTED_SYSTEM.
Once you created the trusted system in the Trusting system. You have to create a NEW RFC connection in the Trusted System for example <SID>_TRUST mark the trusted system and current user with the Client# information. Once saved, try to logon by the "Remote Logon" button. If this works, then you created successfully the trust relationship.
Thanks Wolfgang for the Note you mentioned. I checked that Note before.What I didn't know that the Message in RFC menu Trusting System authorization failed can be ignored since it tries to logon with the current logged on client.

Hi!I am using jdk 1.4 and eclipse 3.3.
I create a servlet in eclipse with in-build tomcat.
When I run it ,it was working perfectlly has it was suppose to work.
In this servlet I connect to a sql 2000 database using jdbc-odbc bridge driver.
But when I tried to deploy the servlet on tomcat 5.5 manully on the same machine ,it gave me error saying

for user 'sa'
I searched around some post and found that ok ,I need trusted connection
But I have 2 Questions
1). Why was in eclipse I was able to connect to the SQL server and why not in the servlet which I deployed manully on tomcat.
2). How do I create a trusted connection with JDBC for SQL server 2000

JDBC Type 3driver can connect to different clients as well as database

I know Core Java.COuld anyone plz explain what does "JDBC Type 3driver can connect to different clients as well as database" this mean..?

I have a little more info. I have both a Login called Custcompass and a User for the custCompass db called Custcompass. The user is mapped to the login by the same name. As an experiment, I clicked the sysadmin role on the Login and then I was able to connect. This makes me think I've got something screwed up in my permissions or my mapping of Login to User, but I have no idea where to begin (I only have Oracle experience - this is my first go w/ SQL Server).

Calling a ESS WDJ COmponent with different Client no

my task is to make ESS available on a different Client (100) instead of 001.
i was reading about the "Mapping Logical Systems" using the parameter sap-wd-arfc-useSys :

I did the following :
1. Create a new JCODestination :
SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaDataHNL and SAP_R3_HumanResourcesHNL with the new client.
2. Call the URL
http://<portal>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/ess~lea/com.sap.xss.hr.lea.appl.LeaveRequest?sap-wd-arfc-
useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources:HNL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:HNL
Result : i get a 500 internal Server error after the login for this client.
Test 2: The same with the default JCO Destinations : same error
Test 3: The same without the additional parameter : working
The JCO Destination is only SAP_R3_HumanResources when i looked it up the Content Admin Area for Web Dynpro.
What is the point i am missing ? Has someone done it successfully to connect to 2 systems per sap-wd-arfc-useSys ?

the JCODestination Tests (Metadata) are successful.
The Assignment for ess~lea is only for :
SAP_R3_HumanResources
SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData
It is a standard ESS iview. How and why should i assign additional JCODestinations ?
I overweite it per parameter sap-wd-arfc-useSys

we are using FILE,IDOC,JMS MQ ,ABAP Proxy and See burger adapters with sender and receiver aswell.
we are using Master SLD ..I mean single SLD.
Client has asked for testing the interfaces...
we are using
XI box with client as 200
R3 box with client as 217.
All the connections are done with R3 client 217.
No my problem is...
My client has asked to test my interfaces with R3 client 216.
what are the changes i need to change in XI for R3 client 216....please let me know

The Following things needs to be take care in this Activity
1) No Need to create Another TS for SAP R/3, this will not allow you to create another one.
2) Just Add the Business system for the Existing TS with Client 216 and also take care abt the Logical System Name here.
3) Refresh SLD Data Cache in IDEnvironment-
4) Now Use this New Business System for Communication which is having the New Client and Corresponding LS Name

Connection with OPC client

Hi,
I would like to access to my shared variables using an OPC client. (a free software called powerOPC or any other one)
When I use it locally, everything goes well, I can access my shared variables, but when I try to access from a distantr PC, I cannot connect and get some errors. I've tried to open port 135 on the firewall, I've read the following post: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/opc-dcom-access-denied/m-p/822246/highlight/true#M373884
But I still can't access my variables.
The NI Distributed System Manager can access to the distant shared variables, so I don't know what's wrong with other clients.
Does anyone knows how to do?
Both PC are running win 7, one is 32 the other 64bit.

Could you detail the way you use to communicate with your OPC server thanks share variable? Are you using datasocket like in this document or are you using DSC ?

9iFSRe2 + API + connect with thin-Client

Hi,
I progam the iFS-APi to connect the iFS.
But under Windows i must install about 100MB.
Under Linux the size of libs i need to connet
about 10MB.
My Question is can i connect the iFS with
thin-Client dll?

Dev qas and prd set up with different clients

good day experts,
If I have 3 different clients in PRD, is it recommended to have 3 qas and 3 dev clients as well? For instance, 3 clients in PRD which are 500, 510, and 520; do I have to have 300,310,320 for qas and 200, 210, and 220 for dev? for we have difference configurations and settings on difference clients.
Please suggest! Thank you in advance!

It is not mandatory that you have three clients in all system. General approach is as below:
1) Development System- Sandbox Client, Development Client, Golden Master Client
2) Quality System- Testing Client, Pre-Production client (not require always)
3) Production System- One Production Client (If there is any special requirement then you can create more client)

Connecting BW with different clients in CRM Server.

We have one CRM Server and one BW Server.
In CRM Server, we have 3 Clients.
CRM 100, CRM 200 and CRM 300.
And in BW, we have one Client BW 200.
During the development of reports, we have connected CRM 200 with BI 200.
Development of CRM reports are done.Right now CRM 100, holds the quality data and client wants to link CRM 100 with BI 200.
Steps we have done while connecting CRM 100 with BI200.
1. All the requests available in CRM 200 are visible in CRM 100.So We have created the RFC connection between CRM 100 and BW 200.
2. Replicated all the data sources from CRM 100 to BW 200
3. After replication, the link between Data source and Info source is not available.
4. So we have installed manually the Transfer rule from CRM100 data source to Info source through business Content.
Please suggest, whether this is a right way or is there any other way to automate the linking of CRM 100 with BW200 for all info Objects.

Many solutions, common is create OU for Members (or Users), inside, more OU's (one for managers & one for regular users).
Next use Group Policy Editor to create separate policies for each OU (one for managers & one for regular users).
This is Just a start and suggestion.
Please do not delete any Operating System created OU's or groups!

Non-Deterministic Exception When Connecting With Wrong Client Certificate

I am working on an internal application and need to determine the correct client-side SSL certificate to use when connecting to a server (the user can supply multiple client-side certificates). I had expected that if I connected to a server using the wrong client certificate the java client would throw a SSLHandshakeException and I could then try the next certificate. This seems to work some of the time, however the java client will sometimes throw a SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed, in which case it is not possible to know that the wrong certificate caused the problem.
Below is the code I have been using to test as well as the intermittent SocketException stack trace. Does anyone have an idea as to how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.
Note: the TrustAllX509TrustManager is a trust manager that trusts all servers.

Thanks for the quick response. Here are answers to the questions:
1) No, this issue is not associated with one particular certificate. I have tried several certificates and see the same issue.
2) I agree it would be simpler to only send the required certificate, but unfortunately the project requires that the user be able to specify multiple certificates and, if a client-side certificate is required, the application try each one in turn until the correct certificate is found.
3) Yes, I realize the TrustAllX509TrustManager is insecure, but I am using this for testing purposes while trying to diagnose the client certificate problem.
In terms of testing, I am just wrapping the above code in a try/catch block and executing it in a loop. It is quite odd that the same exact code will sometimes generate a SSLHandshakeException and other times a SocketException.
One additional piece of information: if I force the client code to use "SSLv3" using the Socket.setEnabledProtocols(...) method, the problem goes away (I consistently get a SSLHandshakeException). However, I don't think this solves my problem as forcing the application to use SSLv3 would mean it could not handle TLS connections.
The code to specify the SSLv3 protocol is:

sslSocket.setEnabledProtocols(new String[] {"SSLv3"});
One other strange issue: if instead of specifying the SSLv3 protocol using setEnabledProtocols(...) I instead specify the protocol when creating the SSLContext, the SocketException problem comes back. So if I replace:

with:
final SSLContext context = SSLContext.getInstance("SSLv3");
and remove the "sslSocket.setEnabledProtocols(new String[] {"SSLv3"})" line, I see the intermittent SocketException problem.

You can add a VLAN sub interface to interface X3, just click the Add Interface button at the button under all the current interfaces you have under Network Interface.Select the Zone you want to assign to this
Select the VLAN you want to assign to the new interface
Select the parent Interface (in this case X)Personally I would create a new zone for this(called Mitel VOIP or similar)to allow you to customise your Access rules as they work with zones rather than interfaces. If you setup the interface zone as trusted then the access rules will be automatically setup to allow all traffic in both directions to and from your other trusted zones. If it is setup as an untrusted zone then the traffic should be blocked to all other trusted zones (but I'm not toosure about the other direction - it's been a while since I've setup a sub interface).

have different subnet physically different system Using Mitel VOIP phone system
using 192.168.2.1/24.
Is there anyway can I set up the VLAN in SonicWALL’s X3 interface and connect
the cable in X3 interface to the 192.168.2.1/24
network switch. And can I manage the Mitel system from
192.168.3.1/24 network connected workstation.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I know this doesn't really answer your question but Oracle have just made Release 2 of Warehouse Builder available and based on all of the info through this forum and other places, if I was you I would download R2 and install it instead of R1, as it is deemed to have way more functionality.

Create connection with sqlplus client

i've a little connection problem with the oracle Instant Client I've installed on my Windows 7 64 bit. First, I've token the files:
instantclient-basic-windows.x64-12.1.0.1.0.zip
instantclient-sqlplus-windows.x64-12.1.0.1.0.zip
and uzipped them together in a directory. That directory is in PATH enviroment variable on Windows 7.
Now i want to try to get a connection to my Oracle 11gR2 (11.2.0.3) database on CentOS. When i do a EasyConnect:
PROMPT>sqlplus system/pwdofsystem@hostname_of_db_server:1521/SIDNAME
there is no problem to get to the database.
But when i try the long way:
PROMPT>sqlplus 'system@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=hostname_of_db_server)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=SIDNAME)))'
first he asks me for the password for system. I enter the password and then I get an ORA-12560 error.
I allready read about that error but i can't understand, why i need an entry in a tnsnames.ora file when i gave sqlplus all the parameters directly. Or is there another failure?

TAKE OFF THE SINGLE QUOTES, you will be connected
Run this without single quotes,
PROMPT>sqlplus system@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=hostname_of_db_server)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=SIDNAME)))
I guess if you are passing the whole ting in quotes, sqlplus is considering it as a 1 single parameter and assuming the whole thing as USERNAME.

Cannot connect with CSM client

One of our clients has a problem with their CSM deployment, they recently upgraded their CSM version which is deployed on a vmware environment, the services are listed as running and the webservice is available on port 1714 - when he tries to access it with the CSM client he gets the error.
The client cannot connect to the authentication service."

I cant find any troubleshooting information for this specific issue - has anyone got any experience of this issue or what could be causing it.

I'm having the exact same problem. My work around is to run C:\Program Files (x86)\cscopx\setup\support\resetcasuser.exe, select option 1 and reboot the CSM box.
TAC said the issue was a GPO preventing the casuser for running batch, but we just modified the GPO yesterday and still have trouble.
Strange thing is twe did not have this issue when the backup job was failing.

Error ORA-12154 trying to connect with instant client 11g / LDAP on Ubuntu

I have successfully installed instant client 11.2.0.2 and sqlplus on my Ubuntu 11.04 workstation. I am able to successfully connect to DB's defined in tnsnames.ora, but when the resolution is (or should be) by LDAP, I get error
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
Note: while it's fine for testing, it's not a viable option to setup all the DB's defined in the OID in tnsnames.ora - I need to use LDAP.
My setup is as follows:
Install folder: /opt/oracle/instantclient_11_2
TNS_ADMIN=/opt/oracle/instantclient_11_2/
sqlnet.ora
NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH=(TNSNAMES,LDAP)
I am certain that tnsnames.ora and ldap.ora are valid, as I can connect successfully on another machine with the full client installed using the same files.
I tried to setup tracing in sqlnet.ora as follows
TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT = SUPPORT
TRACE_DIRECTORY_CLIENT = /tmp
TRACE_FILE_CLIENT = sqlnet.trc
but not trace file gets generated in /tmp - am I doing something wrong ? (Note, I also tried to set DIAG_ADR_ENABLED=OFF as suggested by Laurenz Albe in Instant client don't work trace but that did not help)
I checked DocID=359206.1 but I don't think that applies as I'm on 11g.
