FAGLFLEXT updte in this table

Hi All,
We are using New GL. I just want to know if we create any document whether amount will update in FAGLFLEXT table?
The requirement is I need balance of Account say 1713100000.
Currently they are reading from BSEG and calculating Debit entry minus Credit entry to get Balance. I assume we will get this balance directly in table FAGLFLEXT.
in order to test this I created one document but I am not able to see this transaction in FAGLFLEXT table.
Can some one give me some information on this.

Hello
FAGLFLEXT is the totals table for the New GL. It looks like GLT0 for the classic GL.
If you look to the tCode FAGLB03 you will see the values retrieved from FAGLFLEXT. This transaction shows the balance of the GL Accounts. Please have a look and then share your results.

As you know this error has been discussed in other threads.. the difference in mine is that not only the time series measures but all the columns are giving me the error...none of the columns are being displayed... The rpd has no consistency errors. can anyone suggest what may be going on?

I guess you have the column in RPD, and it is available for queries.
are you using any time measures? if so check you chronological keys.

I am getting the following error:

SQL Issued: SELECT "Customers - Dim".CITY FROM MVDEMO ORDER BY 1
When I tried viewing data online I am able to view the data in the physical Layer. Also I tried connecting thru ODBC Client and issued the same SQL (above) and it returns the data.
I am using Oralce BIEE 10.1.3.2.1 version.
Please let me know if any faced this kinda issue and how to resolve this.

Check your column mapping in the BMM layer in your Customers - Dim logical table. Does the CITY column point to a physical table column?

On a new setup I get error message "'could not activate this table (3001)''

Hi,
I am busy setting up my new playbook and get an error message on the software update screen: "'could not activate this table (3001)'' please try changing your settings.
What settings am I meant to change?
There is a button for settings and when I press this, the playbook takes me back to the connect to WI-FI screen. The WI-FI screen shows that I am currently connected. When I click on hotspot setup, the screen comes back and says I am already connected to the internet.
Can anybody please assist me to complete my setup so that I can start using the playbook?

How to check how this table is populated in PL/SQL

Hi,
This is based on assumption that it using a trigger , function or procedure to update this table tbl1
how can i find out how tbl1 is being updated ? do i check thru those "referenced by" ?
or it updating another table set off a trigger that updates tbl1A can i find out from tbl1's details i.e those referenced by ?
pld advise as i do not know how tbl1 is being populated with certain data

Dependencies can help only if table populated with static SQL, placed in stored procedures.
Any kind of dynamic SQL or direct SQL-calls from client can't be tracked in such manner.
But You can try to query V$SQL in order to find exact statements modifying table.
My favorite way to solve such issues - SQL*Trace.

RSIXWWW - deletion of data in this table

Could anybody tell me whether the data held in table RSIXWWW needs to be retained. If it needs to be retained, what are the reasons? This table is taking up an increasing amount of space and we would like to delete some of the content. What is the recommended period of data retention?

This table contain Reporting Agent the precalc data; SAP does not recommend directly going in and deleting these entries. You can look at the tables RSIXWWW,RSIXRA,RSRA_BC_LOG.
SAP provides a program 'RSRA_CLUSTER_TABLE_REORG' for reorganizing the reporting agent cluster tables entries. This will be the best way to do it.

I have a table that contains about 140 million rows. data size is about 38 GB. This is severly affecting performance of our application. Since this is one of the tables that stores "detail log of transactions", it keeps growing with every min and sec.
are there any suggestions/comments to keep the size low? (e.g. by segregating columns that contain more than 1000 char of data)

Well, the procedure to insert data into this table
takes a loong time and consume lot of resources. we
have used insert .....select from with append hint,
as there is very little data processing.Now we are getting somewhere ... 'The PROCEDURE is slow and uses a lot of resources' is somewhat more definitive than 'the large table is affecting our performance'. (Of course, we still do not know whether 'procedure' means a PL/SQ stored procedure or simply the sequence that you happen to be using.)
You need to give us symptoms. Operating system & database version and patches, disk storage information (SAN, RAID level) is useful.
What specific steps have you taken to identify the cause of slowness? Any trace, profile, explain plan?
What level of complexity is involved in inserting into the table? Are you doing any joins in the select portion? How many indexes are there? What is the base table structure? (IOT, many wide columns, blob/clob?) How many records are being selected with each insert? Are you using bitmaps? Have you checked for any locks?
Is only the procedure affected, or is everything affected while the procedure is running.
So far it is as if you have gone to the doctor and said you are not feeling well.
To get a prescription from the doctor, It is useful to know whether the bad feeling is in the back, the head, the neck, the stomach .... the more you tell us, the sooner we can make recommendations. Until we get enough details, all we can do is guess and keep asking for more detail.

To create Union Reports choose Combine with similar Request option in your criteria tab (at the bottom).
I am just giving a draft:
1^st^: Pull Level1 Columns
2^nd^: Pull the Same cols with first col name to Sum of Level1 with aggregation SUM on rest
3^rd^: Pull Level2
4^th^: Pull the Same cols with first col name to Sum of Level2 with aggregation SUM on rest
5^th^: Reqd cols for Rule-1
6^th^: Reqd cols for Rule-2

My $0.02
1) Since there are no deletes from the table, PCTUSED isn't going to be much of a factor.
2) The default PCTFREE of 10% will probably work just fine.
3) The table design doesn't have any not null constraints. Certainly the primary key and your FK trip_id should be not null. Things like date_of_issue and gender are probably mandatory columns also. The existance of not-null constraints help the CBO in optimizing queries.
4) It sure looks like the table could be normalized. Particurlarly the nationality column could be brought out into a nation_master table. The resultant FK could then be a number(5,0) which would make the table quite smaller (thus faster to query)...
5) Keep the table stats up-to-date as the table grows. Let the CBO take care of the rest...

Server Logon History table in master database has grown to 30GB. Is it a best practice to truncate this table?

I have noticed that the master database in our staging env has grown to 30Gb with 299803769 records. I am not sure why but this has happened in the last one year. Just from yesterday to today (1/1/2014 to 1/2/2014) it has 629921 records. Is it
a good practice to truncate or delete data from this table?

I found in this way,
Goto Tcode SE84 ->Abap Dictionary -> Database Tables -> Short Description -> Transfer Structure Application* and execute this will list down all the change log tables.
For individually seeing the objects goto se11-> Put table name /BIC/B0000357000 and look for the description of the table . From the description you should able to make out to which ods this changelog belongs to.

RSECLOG - how do i delete/truncate this table???

Hello BW people,
we turned on auth analysis 6 or 7 months ago and now we have a 260 gb table and i am trying to delete the logs manually thru RSECPROT but it is taking forever to delete one log (approx 30 mins).
is there either a program in sap or a manual way of deleteing or truncating this table?
any help would be very much appreciated.

I created a table and then i dropped it. When i selected * from tab i got this table.
No operation is being done on this table.
