Fail in converted models migration log

Hi,
I have the following Failed in migration log:
Failed To Convert Constraint actual time <= current time > NA.NA.actual time <= cWQEBaV_SYSDTRG.actual time <= current time:unexpected AST node: EXEC_PARAM_LIST: Line -1 Column -1     10-JUL-08-17:27:58     Convert
I know that what I need to do is to use TSE to comment out some statements that possibly cause the error. But I even don't know which functions/ procedures/ views/ others cause it. It seems that the words appear in the log are not the name of functions/ procedures/ views. Could anyone give me some hints from the log message or give me some advices? Thank you so much.

Thanks Donald,
I have found the table with Constraint "actual time <= current time". And this is Constraint Name in the table of original SQL server with the Check Clause. But it just shows the Constraint Name "actual time <= current time" in the Captured Models where I can't modify anything except droping the table. What can I do to go over the Failed and continue the migration without drop the table? Many thanks.

    Display in PDF Browser - Item failed to convert in Outlook

    Hi Experts,
    This is a bit of a pain I have to distrubte
    Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1 to about 3000+ users and I am having a problem,
    In Prefs in "Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1"
    When I tick then untick, "display in PDF Browser" from the Preferences, My Outlook will fail to convert to PDF. I get an "Item failed to convert" message and a log file. Also Word 2003 will not post a .PDF to an email.
    If I restart "Outlook 2003" it will create a "pdf" when I click the icon the first time, the second time I click it will fail.
    Please help.

    We also deployed 8.12 to over 1000 users with the "Disable PDF in browser" option checked using the customization wizard. Now we're finding some users need it to view certain PDFs in a web-based application.
    We would like to add the option, but removing the registry key doesn't actually install the option when you check it. It seems you might have to create a new mst then redeploy. We'd really like to not have to do that, if at all possible.
    In the Reader archives, one guy suggested running this:
    msiexec /i Adobe_Reader_8.1_MUI.msi ADDLOCAL=ReaderBrowserIntegration
    I haven't tried that yet. Any feedback or other suggestions?

  • Question about Correcting Errors in the Converted Model

    Hi,
    I've used SQL Developer (v1.5.1) to capture (offline) the DDL from a Sybase 12 DB and have converted this to Oracle, which all seemed to run ok. However, I noticed some errors in the Migration Log. None of them have the prefix 'Parse Exception' so, according to the online help, no manual intervention is required to resolve them.
    I don't even know if the contents of the migration log are a problem, generally they can be grouped under one of the three headings below.
    "*Multiple Limitations for Stored Procedure* extUpdateExtSuccess 03-SEP-08-16:09:41"
    "*Translation limitation* '@@ERROR' encountered on Stored Procedure CorporateActions.dbo.extBMDeleteBatchSchedule line 14 column 4 03-SEP-08-14:53:23"
    "*Index* 'XPKSpinOffExt' on table 'SpinOffExt' *has been dropped as it is a duplicate of a constraint* 03-SEP-08-14:39:26"
    Are these errors something I need to do something about before I try generating the DDL? Are they related to Sybase (which I know very little about).
    Online help is not very helpful on this subject.
    Thanks,
    Antony

    Hi, Hareesh
    I agree. But that is how it is defined now by someone else. It is hard to change it as he defines the same structure on the receiving side. I didn't want to change the receiving structure as it touches the proxy code too. So I want to make something short and sweet.
    Basically the data looks like this:
    11,222
    55,666
    The result xml should be something like:
    <JOB>
      <Msg>
         <Transaction>
            <DATA>
               11
               222
            </DATA>
         </Transaction>
         <Transaction>
            <DATA>
              55
              666
            </DATA>
          </Transaction>
      </MSG>
    </JOB>
    I know either the DATA has no meaning and it's giving me a headache ... but that's how it's done and I don't want to rock the boat too much. There are lots of mapping that I have changed otherwise.
    Thanks,
    Jonathan.

  • Java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv

    Hi all,
    I am writing a servlet that connects to Oracle 8.0.6 through jdbc for jdk1.2 on NT 4.0
    English version and it works fine.
    But when the servlet is deployed to a solaris with Oracle 8.0.5 (not a typo, the oracle on
    NT is 8.0.6 and oracle on solaris is 8.0.5) and jdbc for jdk1.2 (of course, for Solaris),
    the servlet failed with the Exception:
    java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv
    (I am using JRun 3.0 as the application and web server for both NT and Solaris)
    (The database in both the NT and solaris platform are using UTF8 charset)
    My servlet looks like this: (dbConn is a Connection object proved to be connected to Oracle
    in previous segment of the same method):
    String strSQL = "SELECT * FROM test";
    try { Statement stmt = dbConn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.execute(strSQL);
    while (rs.next()) {
    out.println("id = " + rs.getInt("id"));
    System.out.println("id written");
    out.println("name = " + rs.getString("name")); // <-- this is the line the
    exception is thrown
    System.out.println("name written");
    } catch (java.sql.SQLException e) {
    System.out.println("SQL Exception");
    System.out.println(e);
    The definition of the "test" table is:
    create table test(
    id number(10,0),
    name varchar2(30));
    There are about 10 rows exists in the table "test", in which all rows contains ONLY chinese
    characters in the "name" field.
    And when I view the System log, the string "id written" is shown EXACTLY ONCE and then there
    is:
    SQL Exception
    java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv
    That means the resultset is fetch back from the database correctly. The problem arise only
    during the getString("name") method.
    Again, this problem only happens when the servlet is run on the solaris platform.
    At first I would expect there are some strange code shown on the web page rather than having
    an exception. I know that I should use getBytes to convert between different encodings, but
    that's another story.
    One more piece of information: When all the rows contains ascii characters in their "name"
    field, the servlet works perfectly even in solaris.
    If anyone knows why and how to tackle the problem please let me know. You can feel free to
    send email to me at [email protected]
    Many thanks,
    Ben

    Hi all,
    For the problem I previously posted, I found that Oracle had had such bug filed before in Oracle 7.3.2 (something like that) and is classified to be NOT A BUG.
    A further research leads me to the document of Oracle that the error message:
    "java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv"
    is a JDBC driver error message of error number ORA-17037.
    I'm still wondering why this behaviour will happen only in Solaris platform. The servlet on an NT machine I am using (which has an Oracle 8.0.6 and jdbc for jdk 1.2 running) is working just fine. I also suspect that this may be some sort of mistakes from jdbc driver.
    Nevertheless, I have found a way to work around the problem that I cannot get non-English string from Oracle in Solaris and I would like to share it with you all here.
    Before I go on, I found that there are many people out there on the web that encounter the same problem. (Some of which said s/he has been working on this problem for a month). As a result, if you find this way of working around the problem does help you, please tell those who have the same problem but don't know how to tackle. Thanks very much.
    Here's the way I work it out. It's kinda simple, but it does work:
    Instead of using:
    String abc = rs.getString("SomeColumnContainsNonEnglishCharacters");
    I used this:
    String abc = new String(rs.getBytes("SomeColumnContainsNonEnglishCharacters"));
    This will give you a string WITH YOUR DEFAULT CHARSET (or ENCODING) from your system.
    If you want to convert the string read to some other encoding type, say Big5, you can do it like this:
    String abc = new String(rs.getBytes("SomeColumneContainsNonEnglishCharacters"), "BIG5");
    Again, it's simple, but it works.
    Finally, if anyone knows why the fail to convert problem happens, please kindly let me know by leaving a word in [email protected]
    Again, thanks to those of you who had tried to help me out.

  • SSRS error "Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value"

    Hi folks!
    After SCCM 2012 R2 upgrade, we have errors with self made reports:
    An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
    Cannot read the next data row for the dataset DataSet2. (rsErrorReadingNextDataRow)
    Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value '*****' to data type int.
    I found several articles to see reporting services log file for possible WMI related errors, but none exists. SQL server is 2008R2, Runned mofcomp, and re-installed reporting services role, but problem remains.
    I traced the dataset2 query:
    SELECT
      v_Collection_Alias.CollectionID ,v_Collection_Alias.Name
    FROM fn_rbac_Collection(@UserSIDs) v_Collection_Alias
    WHERE
     v_Collection_Alias.CollectionType = 2
    Any adwice is appreciated.
    ~Tuomas.

    Hi Tuomas,
    What's the SQL Server version? To verify the the SQL Server version, please see
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321185
    SCCM 2012 R2 need SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 with CU 6 or SQL Server 2008 R2 with SP2 (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx#BKMK_SupConfigSQLSrvReq).
    If the SQL meets requirement, I would suggest you submit a thread to SQL forum to deal with the sql issue.
    Thanks.

  • SQL Server to Oracle Converted Model missing users

    I am doing a migration from SQL Server to Oracle with about 100 users. The captured model seems to be correct and all of the users are there. But, when creating the Oracle Converted Model, not all of the users are being converted. On the first attempt, the Converted Model had only 21 users, and on the next attempt, the Converted Model only had 16 users. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

    Oracle Database XE does not allow more than one instance per server.
    To define a primary key correct syntax is:
    Create table summary(
    Field NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
    Or:
    PRIMARY KEY constraint tabla_PK (field)
    To generate the value of the primary key you must create a sequence before or after creating the table:
    Create Sequence summary_seq
    Start with 1
    Increment by 1
    Nocycle;
    You can use the sequence in INSERT INTO or through a trigger:
    With Insert Into:
    Insert into Summary
    Values (summary_seq.nextval, valkor1, value2 ,...);
    With a trigger:
    Create or replace Trigger BI_summary
    Before Insert on SUMMARY
    For each row
    Begin
    Select summary_seq.nextval into campoPK
    From dual;
    End;

  • Smart form to Adobe form migration Log errors

    Hi Guys,
    I tried to migrate a smartform to adobe form, but I encountered issues in the created migration log.
    I am new to Adobe forms, I'm hoping that you could help me correct these issues...
    Below are the errors encoutnered:
    ERROR1:
    - "Field SFSY-PAGE is unknown. it is neither in one of the specified tables nor defined in the DATA statement.
    (this looks like a declaration problem, I checked the left pane (system fields) SFSY is declared, this is being used instead of SFPSY because I am using smartforms compatible interface.
    ERROR2:
    - "TLINE" is not an internal table "OCCURS n" specification is missing.
    (I also checked TLINE declarations, everything is declared by the system during convertion.. not sure where to put the proper declaration to address this issue)
    ERROR3:
    -"VBDPR" is neither specified under "TABLES" nor is it defined as an internal table.
    (This one is coded in the smartform exactly same with the migrated adobe form. Another data declaration issue, how can this be done in adobe forms?)
    ERROR4:
    -Field ITEMS5-POSEX has a conversion routine (see SAP Note 796755) --> I will check this note and let you know
    All syntax errors are under the context tab, inside the node source code was generated after the convertion and created the tab program lines.

    Hi All,
    Just incase others encounter this (new to migration) please see the answers below:
    ERROR1: SFSY - in my code, this was used to create the form pages. in ADOBE forms, we can use the ready objects inside
    the layout designer (just drag and drop page n of m just look for it in the objects palette.
    ERRORS2 to 3: Tables, I used type table as reference (create in SE11) and declared it in my interface as reference for my tables that have errors (change ref --> LIKE to TYPE then replace the table used in smartform with the newly created type table.
    ERROR4: Just see sapnote. just change the data type to avoid errors in calculation.
    Hope this will help.
    Thanks,

  • Where is Captured Models and Converted Models in SD 3.0.03?

    Hi,
    I was using OSD 2.1 and was using captured Models and Converted Models view to migrate my SQL Server database objects. I can not find it in new version of OSD 3.0.03.
    Is there any flow change in this release? Where can I find these two views?
    Also I can not find right click menu item "Capture Function" if I want to migrate SQL Server function to Oracle.
    I appreciate your input/help.
    Thanks,
    Edited by: Jignesh Parikh on May 18, 2011 4:25 AM

    Jignesh,
    Have you tried any migration steps at all using the v3 version ?
    You can start a migration by either -
    - click on Tools then the Migration option
    - make a connection to SQL*Server, exapnd the entry then right click on a database which brings up the migration option.
    The workflow is different from the v2.1 version and once going through the migration steps you can stop at any stage you want, for example at the capture stage without doing the convert.
    You should checkout the documentation available at -
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/documentation/index.html

  • Issue with SQL converter: Query Migration Tool for Microsoft SQL Server to SAP HANA

    Hello,
    I found the following blog : http://scn.sap.com/community/business-one/blog/2013/04/10/how-to-convert-sql-from-ms-sql-server-to-sap-hana
    I am trying out this migration tool for converting my MS SQL queries to HANA.
    I am running into issue while converting certain queries.
    The issue is specific to "set" commands which set local variables inside "create procedure" commands.
    e.g.
    a standalone set command:
    SET @var = (SELECT TOP 1 name FROM mytable ORDER BY name)
    is converted well:
    SELECT (SELECT TOP 1 "name" FROM "mytable" ORDER BY "name") INTO var FROM DUMMY;
    But when the same is part of create procedure:
    CREATE PROCEDURE [dbx].[XXXXX_YYYY_ZZZZ]
    AS
    SET @var = (SELECT TOP 1 name FROM mytable ORDER BY name)
    it fails in converting the same:
    --Statements in the input file contain errors; conversion was canceled
    I would like to understand who can help me here.
    Thanks...

    Hi Mayur,
    that tool cannot convert stored procedures. it is still being developed. For these you have to do it manually.

    Hi,
    The above error appears due to date format is differnt from SAP query generator and SQL server.
    So you need convert all date in above query to SQL server required format.
    Try to convert..let me know if not possible.

    You can search the forums for that error message and find previous discussions - they all boil down to the same problem.  Somewhere in your query that calls this function, the code invoked implicitly converts from string to date/datetime.  In general,
    this works in any version of sql server if the runtime settings are correct for the format of the string data.  The fact that it works in one server and not in another server suggests that the query executes with different settings - and I'll assume for
    the moment that the format of the data involved in this conversion is consistent within the database/resultset and consistent between the 2 servers.
    I suggest you read Tibor's guide to the datetime datatype (via the link to his site below) first - then go find the actual code that performs this conversion.  It may not be in the function you posted, since that function also executes other functions.
    You also did not post the query that calls this function, so this function may not, in fact, be the source of the problem at all.
