Failed to initialize for relative axes
Is there a way to prevent xorg from registering keyboards as mice? Whenever I run xinit, I get:

It's also very hard to get hits on Google, as the message appears in pretty much everyone's logs.
Yeah, I've been baffled by this as well. I know it's not exactly useful, but I was plagued by these for some time and then with the last update to xorg they just disappeared. (Along with the much more annoying behaviour of scrolling through countless screen modes before finally starting X.)

QuickTime fails to initialize for non-admin users (Error 63441)
I have installed iTunes 6.0.4 (including QuickTime 7.0.4) on my XP PC. iTunes and QuickTime work fine for the Admin users, but not for non-Admin accounts.
iTunes crashes with the generic Microsoft 'send error report' message; QuickTime gives "QuickTime failed to initialize. Error # 63441".
Any help / suggestions appreciated.Eventually fixed it!
As mentioned in numerous other posts this came down to an issue with registry keys.
Updated the permissions for HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apple Computer, Inc.\QuickTime to give 'Full Control' to 'Everyone'.
Initially had a lot of difficulty accessing the Apple Computer, Inc. branch - kept getting 'access denied'. This turned out to be because there was no owner set for the key. Once I had made myself owner I was able to make the other changes. -
Installer failed to initializ for CS5, windows 7
Had problems with CS5 Owl Orphanage errors. Uninstalled CS5 and now cannot re-install it because the Installer failed to initialize. Downloaded new installer from Adobe, but same thing is happening.
Try below steps and check once
Hold windows key on your keyboard and Press R key.
In Run window, type Appdata and click on Ok
Open Local > Adobe folders
Delete AAMUpdater and OOBE folders
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
Delete Adobe Application Manager and OOBE folders
Install Adobe Application Manager from

Then try -
Installer failed to initialize for Design Premium CS 5.5
I have tried installing Design Premium CS5.5 from the disc as well as fromthe download version. I had no trouble installing it before. I had to erase my hard drive and re-install everything - and now I cannot get my Creative Suite re-installed. When I double click the Install icon - I get the "Installer failed to initialize" error message. Any suggestions?
Without proper system information and other technical details nobody can tell you anything.

The tutorial emphasizes that I need jdk 1.6 update 11 in order to setup.
The newer release of wl server comes with jsk 1.6 update 14.
When I tried to run:
setup -jreLoc C:\Oracle\Middleware\home_11gR1\jdk160_14
no setup screen appeared.
Next, I setup stand alone jdk 1.6 update 11 and add it to path,
but setup -jreLoc C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11 failed too, since no setup screen appeared
So I uninstalled version 10.3.2, installed 10.3.1 to follow exactly the tutorial specs.
Does one has to pay oracle consulting, in order to have an installation of soa suite up and running for development?

There's another thread about this issue but the accepted answer actually has nothing at all to do with the original problem/question so that's a bit deceptive.
Anyway, when trying to install Exchange 2013 SP1 (on 2012 R2 Datacentre) the installation reaches the Configuring Prerequisites part of the Readiness Checks and then fails out with the message:
The type initializer for 'Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.ThrottlingModule`1' threw an exception.
I honestly can't find any way around this issue and the only mentions I've seen resulted in people reinstalling Windows which obviously isn't really a resolution to the problem.
Is there any known fix for this issue?Ok well I've managed to get around that now by recreating a few registry keys and documented that here (apparently I'm not allowed to create links so can't put that here).
I have a new issue now though. It seemed to get almost all the way through the installation process but is now failing due to a "memory" issue although due to the wording I can't tell whether it means RAM or Disk space. Either way, neither should
apply. The drive has 80GB of space available and the machine has 8GB of RAM (only 2GB in use at the time the installer was ran and the amount didn't drop).

This is the first time I am using this forum. I am stuck and need some help. I received this error message both on SQL 2005 and 2008. I am currently using SQL 2008 DEV for testing purposes and I am experiencing this error message when trying to connect to Database Engine Tuning Advisor. I've installed Oracle Endeca Commerce version 3.1.2 on Linux (CentOS 5.9) by using all the default values (hostname: localhost and port numbers)

After deploying the Discover Electronics reference application using Forge, I've restarted the server. After running two scripts for PlatformServices ( /usr/local/endeca/PlatformServices/6.1.3/tools/server/bin/startup.sh) and ToolsAnd Frameworks (/usr/local/endeca/ToolsAndFrameworks/3.1.2/server/bin/startup.sh), I cannot access EAC Admin Console from workbench. error message says: An error occurred while trying list applications.: Error while running a hibernate transaction: Failed to initialize SessionFactory for database 'eacstore'
I even tried to run "eaccmd.sh list-apps" to display the application list from terminal. However, it was giving me the same error message. Here is the stack trace using --verbose option.

Check Discover.0.0.log in <apps>/Discover/logs/ directory and check for more detail exception stack trace.

CS5.5 Design Premium: installer failed to initialize
Ok, I'm having this problem. This started because I had to perform a system restore. I ended having to go back so far with the system restore that all of my Adobe Products(among others) no longer appeared to be installed.
So I downloaded Adobe CS5.5 Design premium from a link mentioned elsewhere in the discussions. Everything extracts fine, but when I execute the installer it always prompts "installer failed to initialize". I have downloaded the Adobe support advisor. It shows multiple:
cpsid_82829s1: "A restart is pending," bootstrapper error has occurred.

There is no "InProgress" Entry in the registry in the locations provided. I have also ran the "Adobe CS5 Cleaner Tool " Multiple times and have removed ALL. I have deleted every directory on this computer that says Adobe.
This is a clients computer and we REALLY don't want to wipe and reload(Money/time and all that). Can anyone help me with this error?System restore is a first resort for most people when there is a problem in Windows. Obviously it wasn't a hit in this situation. I know a wipe and reload would fix it. If you read my post you'd see I'm trying to avoid that. If you have any information that can help me there I would love to know it.

[Solved] Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module

I've just made the jump to arch and have a fresh install. I'm having trouble getting the nvidia drivers to work. I am currently using the nouveau drivers without issue.
The method I am using - after much trial - is:
- uninstall nouveau and mesa lib
- install nvidia package
- remove nouveau module entry in mkinitcpio.conf
- run `mkinitcpio -p linux`
- edit .conf in xorg.conf.d with minimal required settings. Currently:

The only entry I found in `dmesg | grep nvidia` related to nvidia-drm, and seemed to say it was loaded successfully. I didn't save the exact entry and i've reinstalled nouveau now so that I could post this.
Any help much appriciated. I've been at this for a while. Learning a lot in the process!
Last edited by gnibbler (2014-01-04 22:31:49)Success! Several days of trying various things and I finally give in and make a post to this forum. One more attempt - which was only really so that I could add modprobe info to this post - and it works.
I had at some stage installed the driver xf86-video-nv, and this may have been causing the clash. I un-installed it, and followed the procedure above to reinstall nvidia.
I think the main hang up I'd had is that I had not been rebuilding my kernel image with mkinitcpio after installing nvidia during my previous attempts.
I hope some info in here helps some other stuck archer.
Edit: Thanks graysky. I had found the right nvidia driver using the arch wiki and followed this advice to remove the nouveau hook. Much appriciated.

I have read some of the other posts for people that got this error, but none seem to apply to me.
My program has been working for weeks. I made some minor changes, and started getting the error (full details below).
I did a TFS "undo pending changes" and still getting the same error, even after logging off. The one odd thing is that I did change my Windows password this week. The connection string is using a SQL user id and password that has no issues.
I'm an Admin own my own box (running WIn XP SP3). I even tried "Run as Admin" on Visual Studio.

NealI think I found it... this is sure a strange error for what is really happening.
Apparently it had happened to me before, and fortuantely, I actually added the following comment:
