  • Photoshop 7 Fails to Install WIN XP SP3

Hi:<br /><br />I can not get a new in the box version of PS 7 to install on WIN XP SP3.<br />Using D:\Photoshop\Setup.exe sometimes nothing happens, then 10 minutes later the opening screen shows up, click NEXT, then accept the T&Cs, then the progress bar shows no progress.  <CTRL><ALT><DEL> shows not responding.<br /><br />There are a couple of FAQs relating to permissions.  This computer has a single user and in Control Panel - User Accounts - this account is the administrator.<br /><br />Please help since Adobe does not support this product.<br />Brooke Clarke<br />[email protected]

    >a) Would going into the same user in Safe Mode have fixed it?
not alone, unless the problem was with a component instead of an installer confusion in the temp folder.
    >b) I gave up on clearing temp folders a long time ago because of a lack of results. Explain to me the steps of clearing temp folders, maybe I've always done it wrong
I usually leave mine alone too- well every now and then. just delete all the files from them you can (c:\docs & settings\user\local settings\temp, c:\temp, c:\windows\temp)
usually there's no problem but occasionally an installer will leave part of itself in temp where by odd coincidence (or not so odd, because there are relatively few install apps that systems use - wise and install shield probably 2 of the most used) has a file that's got the same name as one the new installer expects. so it starts reading from that one instead. now the whole install gets screwy.
    >However I have seen some success with grabbing the hidden Install Wizard folder and dragging it to the desktop, doing the install, the putting it back.
yes, me too. saves time when troubleshooting and the app that fails to install keeps deleting the install files! :)
    > The way I see it, just get on a new admin install the thing, then delete the user. Who cares "why?" if it works, right?
oh, i misunderstood. i thought you were advocating KEEPING that new admin user as the main user. that's what i mean is a pita having to move settings over from the old acct. to the new one... i guess that CAN work, sometimes, but not always. some apps (not sure if photoshop is among them) want you to install under the user account that will be running it.
just another tool to keep in the arsenal... :)

  • System fails to install win 7pro

    good day all,
i transferred a working harddisk ,40GB, from one desktop A to another B, then went to the BIOS to set it as the first booting device. when i tried to install windows 7 pro on desktop B( hp compaq evo, 2GHZ, 40GB HDD, 512MB RAM) , after deleting the partitions and clicked next, i got this error message "windows cannot be installed on this disk, this computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu". error code 0x800705AA.
    presently i am stuck here.

  • Failed to install Creative Cloud desktop error code 1 Windows 8.1

I just recently tried to begin a trial of creative cloud in order to get access to photoshop. I really need photoshop for my school because of how powerful it is and the tools is offers. A couple weeks ago I tried to download and install creative cloud for windows 8 64-bit, and the download begins, but once it reaches around 50%, it raises an error message saying "We've encountered the following issues: Creative Cloud desktop failed to install (error code 1)". I was having problems with the internet at the time so I just naturally assumed it was the cause. So I went ahead and gave it a couple of days before I tried again. When I tried again I received the same error message at the same time. I continued to look around for a solution and trying it everyday but I have had absolutely no luck with it, and honestly am getting quite frustrated with it. I have looked everywhere for a solution, I tried the adobe clenup tool, I have checked to make sure I don't have any previous versions of adobe products on my computer, and even tried installing it as an admin in safe mode, and still nothing. I have no idea what to do next, but I know that I have to get ahold of photoshop, one way or another, and it must have the professional tools included in the creative cloud edition. Please tell me there is a simple solution and I have been blind this entire time. If there is no solution, can someone direct me to another software similar to photoshop that has access to the plug-in dDo? (I am in game development and have heard how powerful dDo is and have been dying to use it. I have also been anxious to get photoshop, but it doesn't appear to be possible without the creative cloud desktop app).

  • Failed to install Officejet Pro 8610 over Ethernet on Windows 8.1 64-bit

When attempting to run the installation of Officejet Pro 8610 using wired Ethernet connection the setup quickly lists the printer with correct IP and MAC address but when this is selected takes ages in the "installing" state and eventually displays a graphic indicating that the connection is broken.
I have tried disabling firewall (ESET) and a clean boot, and have downloaded latest software.
The printer is connected using a cross-over internet cable, can be pinged and obvious is detected by the setup program.
Attempting to install using WiFi has the same results, ie finds printer but then fails (although I haven't retried this since downloading latest software or with a clean boot).
FYI the printer will work when connected using a USB cable. (has been disconnected and software uninstalled before re-trying above). Don't really want to use this as the printer will be too far from normal working position. Wifi would be preferred but cabled Ethernet would be OK.
Also printer works OK via Wifi using e-mail.
Computer is a HP ProBook 4530s which has recently been upgraded to Windows 8.1 Professional x64 with no other significant problems.
Apologies if this is already answered elsewhere but couldn't find any replies which refer to something not already tried.
    Thanks

Downloaded and ran the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows as suggested, still did not work. Here are some screen shots of what happenned
Right Click on Open File Location (step 3) opens the window in the previous screen shot.
I never saw any of the items in step 4, but double clicking the shortcut that was displayed started the same installation process that always fails, see following screen shots. Note I disabled the firewall while running this.

  • Failed to install Adobe Bridge CS4 & Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Windows)

I have done everything Adobe had instructed me to do.  From the clean script to the clean up utility.  Ended up doing a restore point to recover lost programs in the add/remove programs.  Adobe neglected to tell me to back up files first. I have even uninstalled every adobe program that I could and tried to install once again.  I did restart my computer each time I performed an action on my computer.  I am back to square one on trying to install my Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended software.  If anybody has any suggestions or solutions I would appreciate any help that you can give.  I need this program for a photography class that I am enrolled in.  Classes already started & I cannot complete my first assignment without this program.  Please help me if you can.  Adobe sure couldn't
This is one of the worst experiences I have encountered with installing a program.  I have a headache from all of this!!!
    Thank You
    Diana

So should I manually delete everything that says Adobe?
No, god forbid. That would be disastrous and make the situation worse. Please download the CS4 Clean Script and have it remove all traces of your damaged install. Then, look through your Add or Remove Software list in your system control panel and uninstall everything that still referes to Adobe, including AIR, Adobe Media player, Adobe Reader etc.. Once done, run the Microsoft Installer Database Cleanup that you were required to downlaod for the CS4 script manually. Look for lingering instance of Adobe Installer 2.0 and remove them. Then attempt another install. Warning: If you have other working Adobe software on your system, it would be smart to deactivate it. All the previous operations may render the software defunct and you will be required to reinstall.

I've upgrade to Windows 7 pro 64 bit, and I found FN (Function) key doesn't work, so I re-installed TVAP many times, but nothing.
then I checked HWSetup to enable FN Key, but couldn't find it in Control panel, I found it in Toshiba Folder in Start menu. and each time I enable Function Key, and close the tool, then re-open it. I found it didn't save the options I selected.
and now I can't use Hardware Setup tool at all, I can't enable Function key, I can't add password or anything. I uninstalled it many times & re-installed it. but nothing !!
it cant get the BIOS version even !

    any help ??

Maybe you have installed all this stuff in wrong installations order. I have installed Win7 32 bit on friends Satellite A500 following this installations order:
    -Win7
    -chipset driver
    -storage manager
    -display driver
    -sound driver
    -modem driver
    -supervisor utility
    -infrared
    -patches
    -configfree
    -VAP
    -toshiba hardware setup
    -HDMI control
    -WLAN driver
    Added Vista stuff:
    -Toshiba assist - work properly
    -Card reader - installed properly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works properly.
    -Synaptics driver
Everything works perfectly including hardware setup. I don't know maybe you should install Win7 again following this installations order.
By the way: hardware setup was shown in control panel in WXP but since Vista not anymore. So I asked you this question because I know for sure it is not in control panel anymore.
Since Vista Toshiba packed all tools and utilities overview in Toshiba Assist.

  • IOS7 Update is failing to install correctly, frozen on 'Terms and Conditions' window

Tried to install updates to IOS7 to keep my IPad current, set-up has frozen at the 'Terms and Conditions' page, will not let me proceed. Neither 'Agree' nor 'Disagree' work, and therefore set-up will not complete, rendering the machine unusable

Restart or Reset iPad and continue with update.

  • I just installed win 7 using bootcamp only after windows booted I see nothing pertaining to bootcamp and on restart I do not get a choice to boot on OSx. It is like OSx isn't there any more. I don't have the drivers either. Any ideas?

It seems as if Windows is the only operating system, but the disk shows only the space that I gave for Windows not the entire 500 GB.

Reboot, hold the option key down at the chime, release it when the boot manager appears, select OSX
You really need to read the Boot Camp Documentation, and do you have a backup (in case you can't recover?)

  • Failed to install App Store on my Mac Book 5.

I followed the instructions to download app store on my mac. I went to Software update, and updated my system, then I restarted my macbook without seeing any dialog to install App Store. After restarted my mac book, I was looking for App Store. I found it in downloads, and I deleted it and emptied my trash can by accident. So I failed to install App Store and try to update my system in order to download the app store again on my Mack Book; however, it says "Your software is up to date."
SO how can I get the App Store after updating the software, but failed to install? I want App Store, and I am Snow Leopard. It's been trying nuts for trying to figure out how to get the App Store.

Failed to install App Store wrote:
I followed the instructions to download app store on my mac.
What instructions do you refer to & where did you find them? As has been mentioned by several other people, the Mac App Store is a part of the OS 10.6.6 update. Apple does not offer it as a separate download. Even if it were available as a separate download, it will not work with any version of Leopard (OS 10.5) or any version of Snow Leopard less than 10.6.6.
Click on the "About this Mac" item in the Apple menu. In the window that pops up, right under the words "Mac OS X" you will see the version of the OS you are running. If it says you are running 10.5.8, then you are running Leopard, not Snow Leopard, & Software Update will only offer you updates for that OS version. To upgrade the OS from Leopard to Snow Leopard you must buy a retail copy of Snow Leopard & install it. Once you do, Software Update will offer you updates for that OS version, including the 10.6.6 one that includes the Mac App Store.

  • ITunes Sync app name here failed to install

Hi! I've recently updated to iOS 5 (well, by recently I mean 5 hours ago) and I've encountered issues not fatal but has a big impact on my part.
I encountered this error message when my iPod's restoring:
iTunes Sync <app name here> failed to install
A number of apps weren't successfully installed. I tried restoring for a number of times but the results were the same.
Though, I tried downloading the app via the Appstore on my iPod and it worked. The app was successfully installed and can be ran again.
So then, I tried transferring the purchase to my library to copy the IPA to my PC. Then removed the app from my iPod. Then tried to install again the app from iTunes (this time, I'm trying to use the IPA I downloaded via my iPod; the one that finally worked). But to no avail. The IPA that's working on my iPod didn't install successfully from iTunes.
Can you advise on how to fix this. As much as possible, I'm trying to keep all my downloads via iTunes but this incident is not allowing me to.
If you need more details, below is the list of the apps that aren't being successfully installed via iTunes: (all IPA's are up to date as of Oct. 14, 2011)
    - Battleheart
    - Castle Empire
    - Death Rally
    - Infinity Blade
    - Chaos Rings
    - Dead Space
    - Dungeon Hunter 2
    - Merriam-Webster Dictionary
    - Words With Friends
    - N.O.V.A. 2
I'm using iTunes 10.5 / iOS 5. My device is an iPod touch 4th gen black 32 GB

I am having the same or similar problem, wrote a simple program with xcode and it runs and loads to the iPad but when I creat the .ipa and pass it to iTunes it transfer to iPad. When transferring to iPad I get "iTunes Sync 'app name here' Failed to install. Sent to Apple as Bug # 11060939. Apple has had me update all, which I did and run thru it again and have the same results.
At this point I am wondering if it could be a setting in xcode which is also at the current level.
