Failed to start Oracle Net Listener using

hi
I ' trying to configure oracle 10g in ubuntu machine. I got the following errors like
Starting Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Instance.
Failed to start Oracle Net Listener using /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/bin/tnslsnr and Oracle Express Database using /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/bin/sqlplus
when ever i try to start oracle,i have got above issue

ya .... i hav found listener.log file.
Also when i try to run this cmd # sqlplus / as sysdba
i got following error like
Error 46 initializing SQL*Plus
HTTP proxy setting has incorrect value
SP2-1502: The HTTP proxy server specified by http_proxy is not accessible
also when i stop the listener and try try to restart it again ....i got error message like

    I need help please:
    I have installed Oracle 10g Express Edition without struggles ( Little curious about the fact
    that the directory /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/config/log/ is empty).
    % /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure --> worked good without default settings.
    % /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start --> is silent : No verbose or messages in term.
    I can't connect to server http://localhost:8080/htmldb or http://localhost:8080/apex.
    I uninstalled and re-installed Oracle 10g... Now the command:
    % /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure --> Oracle is already configured.
    But the connection to the server always fails.
    My environment has all the following:

  • " Starting Oracle Net Listener......."  Hangs  while installing vm manager

    Ive taken all defaults read install guide , checked availability of ports and made sure I have libaio.
    I've reinstalled on two separate machines and everytime install fails after I accept defaults. Logs don't show anything. ./oracle-xe configure is the only thing in the log.
    If I run this again it fails or hangs in the same place. ?????Im not sure where the netlistener is otherwise Id try to manually install?start ?

    I have noticed the same thing on my install where it hangs on starting the listener. BUT. .. If you hit enter while it is hanging it will continue to the next step of starting the db. . It seems like it is waiting for some input but not displaying that on the screen. I would not suspect any input from a start listener. .This is my experience. Any others see this?

  • Problems starting Oracle Net Listner on Kubuntu

    I have installed Oracle XE on Kubuntu.
    Everything went fine... except the net listner.
    When I try to start the deamon using
    /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start
    it stays in the following line for a very long time...
    Starting Oracle Net Listner.
    If I try to open the url:
    http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex
    it says unable to establish connection with the server.
    Can someone help me solve this problem. I have to get this server running at the earliest.

    Oracle itself is working? Please try the following:
    Login with the oracle user
    Set your environment with . /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/bin/oracle_env.sh (please use also the "." in front of the script)
    Connect to oracle instance via sqplus / as sysdba
    If the database is up and running, the next thing would be to check if a firewall or SELINUX is active.

    Hi,
    I have installed oracle forms and reports 11gR2 on Windows 7 Professional 64bit (and configured in development mode), the forms are working fine but when i run a report i get this message
    REP-52266: The in-process Reports Server rep_adminserver_ikit_asinst_1 failed to start.oracle.reports.RWException: IDL:oracle/reports/RWException:1.0

    I was trying to add a new destination:
       <destination class="oracle.reports.server.DesMail" destype="mail"/>
    I couldn't make it work , so I commented my changes.
    In fact, I should have gone back to a backup file , as weblogic seemed to have changed the file itself!! (attributes of the xml tags were in different order, and more things ...) but just undoing what I have done did the trick.
    This file seems to be quite picky, I left this tag uncommented
       </pluginParam>
    and the same REP-5226 error happened.

    I'm installing Oracle 12c clusterware on 2 nodes.
    i installed it on node 1 and after executing the ./root.sh is was executed successfully.
    but after trying to execute it on the other node it fails with the next error:
    CRS-2789: Cannot stop resource 'ora.diskmon' as it is not running on server 'dbrac1'
    CRS-2883: Resource 'ora.cssdmonitor' failed during Clusterware stack start.
    CRS-4406: Oracle High Availability Services synchronous start failed.

    my ASM disks are fine and i can see them via oracleasm scandisks and oracleasm listdiks.

    Windows 7 Enterprise
    I have read portions of the Installation manual, and yes, I am aware of the issues with DHCP but that's how we do things here, so I'm not going to change that setting. From reading through the installation instructions, I see that the 11gR1 installation program asked for much more information, i.e., many more decisions than the 11gR2 installation program. I do not know if this is because of some choice up front that then excludes other options. Thanks.

  • Install OEM 12c fails on "start oracle management service". win2008

    Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 x64
    Oracle Database 11g release 11.2.0.3.0
    I install OEM 12c(12.1.0.3) following this manual: Installing Enterprise Manager System
    before start i've installed WebLogic Server 10.3.6 and aplied 2 patches specified in this manual
    installation type is advanced, small, so i have created database from the appropriate template
    i also installed cygwin and started ssh-service
    the installation of OEM process fails on 73% "start oracle management service" with this message:

    First of all with EM 12.1.0.x any version you are not required to install wls separately, we have single installer for em and wls. Is there any specific reason you installer wls separately?
    Coming back to your issue: can you check
    %OMS_HOME%\BIN>emctl istart oms completes successfully.
    %OMS_HOME%\BIN>emctl istop oms completes successfully.
    Also open an SR with Oracle support and share the number. We should debug such issue through SR so that we can share logs and come find a root cause.

    SQL*Net has gone through a few minor revisions over the years.. We've seen SQL*Net Version 1, SQL*Net V2, Net8, Oracle Networking and now (in 10g) Oracle Net Services.
    It's exactly the same, only different.
    Not surprisingly, Oracle actually documents the differences in their documentation which is freely available for all to read.
    If you want some information about what's new in Oracle Networking, I encourage you to read the introduction section of the "Oracle® Database Net Services Administrator's Guide (10g Release 2 (10.2))" titled "What's New in Oracle Net Services?"

    my firewall is offline so what prevents oracle from using that port i tried also to use another port but i am getting the same error.

  • Fail to run Oracle Net Configuration Assistant

    I was installing 64 bits Oracle 10.2.0 on Red Hat Linux 2.6.9-89.ELsmp.
    I did not encounter any problem of upgrading and linking Oracle libraries, and building the Oracle executables.
    But when it tried to build the database, it ran into problem with Oracle Net Configuration Assistant.
    Can any one tell me what would cause the following problem with Net Configuration Assistant?
    I would really appreciate your help.

  • Starting Oracle 8i listener when under stand alone Windows NT 4.0 workstation.

    Hi,
    I am finding it difficult to start oracle listener under a stand alone Windows NT4.0 workstation. My NT machine is stand alone and not connected to any n/w. Since I was not able to bring up listener, I was not able to create any database. I have installed Oracle8i Enterprise Edition on my machine. Please help.

  • How to Start oracle web listener 'www'

    I was able to start 'admin' listener successfully. However I am not able to start the www listener. It gives the message of "Unable to startup Oracle Web Listener 'www' and "Check NT Event log".
    the NT Event Log says "The description for Event in Source Oracle_Web_Listener could not be found.It contains the following insertion string: A failure occured. (Address is already in use)When assigning a port (and then it gave me the domain name and port).
    Please advise on how I should start the www listener. Thanks

    Who do you know what the problem it? My linux version is Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS release 3 (Taroon).
